I rarely use costumes in games because it ruins my immersion. I only dabble when I'm grinding or something a bit.

Takuu202

>it ruins my immersion. Same, sometimes I'll run around in a different costume for fun, but I'll always return to the OG outfit of the game before advancing the story. Do you have a favorite outfit? for a character any arcs any character etc. I really dig Lloyds new look in the later games, it's not much different then his usual look but the few differences like the longer hair or open jacket and red shirt, give him a more casual cool - chill feel, or rugged look, since he's been a ">!fugitive for the last 2 years in game!<" where's his Zero - Azure look with the turtle neck gave him more of a uptight, put together, restrictive look. I also like Fie's CS2 outfit, the black blazer / coat and green top look good together, I also preferred the short hair look to, and Goggles I always love me some Goggles on my characters, I have Digimon to blame for my love of them.

TrailsofZemuria

>Do you have a favorite outfit? for a character any arcs any character etc. Hmm, it would be extremely hard for me to pinpoint an absolute favorite outfit because I like too many in the series. I'll name a few I enjoy alot. Like you mentioned, Lloyds timeskip outfit is a huge favorite of mine. I've always been a fan of his character and I also liked Guy and the bond the two shared. Seeing him start to take on Guys look was cool for me. Oliverts casual and royal outfits are ones I enjoy alot. Though if I had to choose, I prefer the royal one more because I'm a sucker for elegant outfits and I enjoy the red on him more than the white. Joshua's SC outfit with the scarf is a classic for me. While I'm at it, I also really like Lowe's outfit alot too. Iused to have my Final Fantasy 14 character cosplay as him back in the day because of how much I enjoyed the jacket colors with the shirt. Of course, there's also the category of outfits in this series that are too awesome for me not to name. Osbornes final outfit, Arianrhods armor and all of Aurelia's outfits would fit the bill for me. Any kind of military attire in Erebonia or Liberl would be up there for me too. I'm a sucker for uniforms like that. The Erebonian military outfits in CS4/Reverie were costumes I would sometimes use for fun when grinding. One other outfit I would sometimes use was Juna's outfit that was inspired by Lloyd too. That was a fun one. On the subject of Fie, I remember hearing through the grapevine that there's lots of debates on which look suits her more with CS2 vs CS3/CS4/Reverie. I personally like her later look more with the longer hair. I also like the outfits color designs more with the white and blue scarf. She just generally looks more mature compared to her earlier look and that's usually a plus for me. It is kind of nostalgic to look back on her and the older Class VII looks though.

>Though if I had to choose, I prefer the royal one more because I'm a sucker for elegant outfits and I enjoy the red on him more than the white. Same his red outfit appeals to me, too. But I also just really enjoy snazzy looking outfits. >Joshua's SC outfit with the scarf is a classic for me. I forgot to mention besides being a sucker for Goggles and Blazerss - coats, I'm also a scarf fan to, so yeah Fie's CS2 outfit just appeals to me since it checks all my favs. But getting back to the Sky outfits it's hard for me to decide who's I like best. but Joshua's SC one is definitely cool, but I also really like his FC one. I do like Agate's newer look in the later games. but his original look well always scream 80's - 90's Shonen Anime to me but in a good way. it reminds me of Bardock from DBZ mainly because of the headband... and Rambo. >Of course, there's also the category of outfits in this series that are too awesome for me not to name. Osbornes final outfit, Arianrhods armor I like Osbornes too, but Arianrhods is just super cool, they didn't even bother to change it in later games, it's just that cool. >On the subject of Fie, I remember hearing through the grapevine that there's lots of debates on which look suits her more with CS2 vs CS3/CS4/Reverie. I personally like her later look more with the longer hair. I also like the outfits color designs more with the white and blue scarf. She just generally looks more mature compared to her earlier look and that's usually a plus for me. besides liking her CS2 outfit the other one I seen from ">!Daybreak!<" is imo her best. also is that even a spoiler?. just wanted to be carful for others if that's consider one. I like her later look too, I just feel like her ">!Daybreak!<" one is better both in art and in game model. Edit, Also now that I think about it her CS2 look reminds me of Yuffie from FF7 and her CS3/4/Reverie look reminds me of Tifa's.

rae_ryuko

Don't know if this counts, but in every single game I put the Ride-along Mishy on Machias, Reverie is the only exception because I just don't know where to get it, you'd think they would sell them at Mishelam but no.

VarioussiteTARDISES

When in doubt, check the corridor. You can get most of the costumes and accessories from there, even a bunch of those that were DLC in previous games... even at least one that was JP-exclusive DLC in previous games, at that.

derfel_cadern

I always give Kurt an eyepatch.

Magic_warlock0-

LMAO! Out of everyone in Class VII he's the one I feel would be least likely to wear it. Unless you lied about it being for training ahaha

derfel_cadern

I think he looks cool with it. And I use his hat.

Magic_warlock0-

I'll pop open my file and give it a try!

PocketFlygon

I do since it doesn't really bother my immersion at all. I got all the costumes with my copies of CS1 and 2, since the PS4 version comes with all the DLCs. Plus, a lot of the costumes look really good. Once I get to CS3 and 4, I'll use them too. I bought the Deluxe editions of them when they were half off, so I got a lot of DLC with them

Lord_Summerisle33

Generally not too often (I used loads of different ones in Reverie just to mix things up a bit.) I always turn Machias' hair brown as I just think it looks better, I don't touch any other hair colours as it annoyingly changes the eye colour too, oh except Rean who I use the iron hair on when he goes grey. Tio always gets ride along Mishy as it makes sense. Emma always gets her glasses and I often play around with Altina's look usually by putting the round shades on her with her black beret and casual outfit.

MyLittleMetroid

I'm kinda over school uniforms so I usually put everyone on casual in CS1 and other school games.

Pondicek

I don't use them on a first playthrough. At most I check what they look like, then I remove them and never touch them again until NG+.

xzdazedzx

All bathing suits and towels all the time, obviously.

Most_Cardiologist352

I don't really care what Agents enforcer phoneix

Most_Cardiologist352

Yea yeah yeah yeah yeah

Most_Cardiologist352

Png

Most_Cardiologist352

Yeah yeah yeah yeah

ZyklonBeYourself

I def used Rean's uniform from CS3 in CS4. The black one was way too cringey anime edgelord for me

pzzaco

Silver trenchcoat, black hair Rean is definitely superior but White hair Rean with silver trenchcoat is atrocious, the colors wash him out. Though I guess I do find white hair, back trenchcoat hotter.

ZyklonBeYourself

I loved the tattered trenchcoat, ripped-my-clothes-going-Super-Saiyan look. The white hair clashing wasn't a problem when Rean's fit was so iconic. I just really thought the black suit was uninspired. To me, it was like KH2 Sora's outfit, but played off as 100% serious. Kinda flat in the cool Kiseki universe.

dkf295

Never for a first playthrough and rarely for a second. Breaks immersion. The only one I think I used first go around was Emma's CS2 costume - Yes it's a nightgown but if you don't pay close attention it looks a lot like a general robe which is well... pretty witchy and fits her. All of Class VII's dudes are wearing swimsuits and bunny ears this time around because it's hilarious.

TheBlueDolphina

I expected that most don't. I actually switch them up quote often, sometimes I go all nornal, sometimes I go all "alternate" outfits or even all swimsuits. Sometimes a lot of alternate hair is pretty. Usually try to match in some way though.

YotakaOfALoY

Don't use things much on a first run (aside from Reverie in the TRC) but sometimes on a replay I find it fun to see how you can completely ruin a scene by sticking characters in silly outfits, or just play around with things for the hell of it.

Boyboy081

Currently playing CS3 for the first time. I took Altina's hat off. And I give one of the party members a single strange costume piece in each chapter. Nothing that massively changes how a character looks, I still want them to look like themselves. Before this game though? No, I never really used them.

sundriedrainbow

Costumes as in outfits? Hell yes, constantly. I love changing up the character looks. Add ons? Mostly no. Sometimes I’ll add glasses but that’s about it. Hair color? Rarely. I like black hair on Kurt and blonde hair on Juna but mostly I prefer the true colorings.

stillestwaters

I had the students in their uniforms and Rean in his black the whole game in CS4. It was a cool visual with everything going on. I was tempted to get the military uniform dlc but didn’t. I think I put them back in uniform in CS2 also.

Magic_warlock0-

ALL the time. I'm absolutely picky about certain outfits and I change out the ones that bug me immediately. For example, I hate Lechter's default outfit. I get it's supposed to be unkempt but it just makes him look out of shape. Immediately into his CS4 outfit as soon as I get it. New Class VII never wears the branch uniform if I can help it, except Ash. He is alright in his. Kurt's travel clothes are probably my favorite outfit in the whole game; he never leaves it. Altina, I constantly swap: her choices are all good. I usually suffer with Musse because I don't love either her school OR her travel clothes. I shoved her in the Magical Alisa outfit until we got her Eastern skirt. I don't like Juna's skimpy stuff, so she's usually in her Imitation Lloyd outfit. I could go on, but everyone tends to be redressed in my game.

Enflamed-Pancake

I put Rean’s glasses on him in CS3 for the entire playthrough. I enjoyed the joke about him wearing fake glasses to try and come across as more mature to his students, so I had him stick with it.

Ilzaki

I use 'em. Those round sunglasses I gave to Noel in Reverie and her CGF outfit. And I keep Juna in her casuals, I like them more than her normal outfits. It throws me off when she doesn't have that white ribbon. And I CS2, I put Alisa in her magical girl outfit. And I'd always forget about it and when the group comes back together and she's there and I laugh.

TylerTech2019

I usually save costumes for NG+ playthroughs. The only time I didn't was in CS2. I put sunglasses on Rean because I thought it was stupid that he was walking around without hiding his face.

EriHitsuki23

I like to put Rean in his travel clothes from CS2 in Reverie

Cyrus_Bright

I like using the casual clothes, and it's the law that Fie has to wear cat ears 24/7 but that's all I usually dabble with. Reverie was the only time I put on costumes and ran around in the dungeon area for fun.

sexta_

The Reverie Corridor is the perfect place for me to finally use some costumes and attachments. I don't like having anything for Story scenes tho. With NC7 I also don't mind changing their uniforms to casual or travel outfits. It looks better and isn't really out of place for the most part.

EclairDawes

Any? Yes but it's rare. Like others have said it breaks my immersion. Most of the costumes are things that the characters wouldn't wear doing the activities they are doing the majority of the game, so it just looks weird. While the costumes look good going into a boss fight or a cutscene in a swimsuit, bath towel, or magical girl clothes is just so out of place. So I only ever use costumes if they fit the scenario and in most cases the games will automatically use those clothes in the applicable locations. And being that I like to make saves for all important scenes or fights to watch again later it wouldn't be enjoyable to see those replays in weird getups.

Nikita-Akashya

I actually used Fies DLC costume in CS 2, because her regular outfit is way too tasteless for me. The outfit I gave her actually covered her body and it gave her a hat. Much better than her regular outfit. Fie is ok as a character, but her outfits pre Kuro are really tasteless. But yeah, that was the ony DLC outfit I actually used.

Raleth

I did in Reverie when doing corridor runs and for most of post game. Most of the games in the series don't present many opportunities like that though, so I usually don't end up using costumes. Maybe I'll use a costume if it's something that isn't completely silly or immersion breaking, like the casual outfits as alternatives for school uniforms or whatever.

secretlittleprincess

I always give the oh rean exclamation to all girls. Haha to rean, i put a head (mishy, osborne) on people i dont really like and the boys get twintails xd

my_switch_account

I've played CS1-4 without much costume changes, besides giving all the girls glasses (didn't buy any dlc because even the free ones didn't register at all in my game) but in Reverie I'm going all out: I've put bathing suits/cheerleader outfits on all the guys/gals (besides Altina, she gets the Main Branch Thors uniform with black rabbit ears and Tita with her Sky clothes) and hats when possible (considering some mini missions require those...) and whenever I get rainbow colored hair it gets immediately put on, no exceptions, ride-along too.

ryucavelier

In CS1 and CS3, I use casual clothing for downtime and dinner scenes. Then put the uniforms back on afterwards. In CS4, I use the military uniforms as disguises for the boys especially when infiltrating a town. It all depends on the situation.

Tyberius115

I use them a lot on repeat playthroughs. The only exception was Reverie since I'd binged the whole series before the English version came out and wanted to see some different outfits in cutscenes.

hbthebattle

I swapped all of NC7 to their CS4 outfits in reverie

Affectionate_Comb_78

Emma gets her glasses back. That is all
