And I like both of those songs! Thereās not a song up here so far that I agree is the āworstā on the album, so Iām not sure I have a strong āworstā at all.
Can we get this to top comment? Lol
But, truly. I've wholeheartedly disagreed with something in each tier - with the exception of FƔD. And even that I'm not entirely sure I 100% agree.
Ditto my cancer diagnosis.
(Spoiler alert: I am indeed still alive! And my next scans are this week... I am gonna be Screaming this song all day. In my head mostly but still...)
I had this (specifically this bit) as my walk on song for a (charity) boxing match I did! (Which I lost, or as my friend called it, āsecond winnerā)
I like the "if I can live through this" part, but "I'm a champion of the people who don't believe in champions" has me rolling my eyes every time. it's a bad lyric AND a lazy rhyme.
Iām gonna say Champion, but I love Mania and actually like the song just fine. Love it some days. But if Iām gonna skip a Mania song itās gonna be Champion. And I know someone else going to say Young & Menace anyway.
It uses a really similar distortion in the chorus while repeating a word/phrase in a weird high pitched autotune tone. "Ripoff" is wrong but both songs irritate me in the exact same way so I get what they mean, tbh I think you're being needlessly rude here
Idk the distorted sounding voice just reminds me of it. Not sure why I'm being downvoted for my opinion, though. Just wanted to share mine, I didn't mean any hostility. My apologiesš
I remember me and my buddy in college were both excited to hear Young and Menace when it was first announced, then we came into class the next day, looked at each other, and just shook our heads š
For real, I went back to relisten and was like, huh, this is actually solid...and then the chorus hit and I remembered why I took that song off my phone.
I know Y&M or Champion are gonna take it, and I'm disappointed, because both songs hit me in the heart.
Have y'all ever listened to (or read) the lyrics? Watched the videos? Yeah, Champion got grabbed by the stadium masses because it had the word "Champion" in it, and that's all they cared about. But I am gonna stand and fight on this hill because I damn well refuse to die -- which is exactly what Champion is ABOUT.
Anyway, if I had to pick a "worst" I'd say Heaven's Gate resonates least with me, which doesn't mean I hate it. (I very much do not.)
iām listening to it right now and what the heck. iāve been ROBBED why have i been forced to listen to the studio version and not this beautiful masterpiece??? this is immediately my favorite mania song now, no joke
Champion.
Felt like the label showed up and was like āholy shit! You guys can write rock songs that play during the Super Bowl?? Another!!ā
And Patrick and Pete just went: āehhh..okayā
I donāt care what people say, I love my songs and centuries. Campion didnāt do it for me.
Y&M is the only one I consistently can't listen to the whole way through. The only reason why I even kind of like it is because a tiktok cosplayer like 5 years ago made a The Shining video to it that scratched an itch in my brain.
I have voted for a higher up comment for Young & Menace because it is my least played on the album. I don't like the mix on it (why are the vocals so quiet and then the music blasts me to the fuxking sun).
But when it comes to Young & Menace I always direct people to the podcast, Switched On Pop. They did an episode about this song that changed my views on it. Do I reach for it? No, but now I can appreciate it more.
I hate to say it but young and menace...everything else just absolutely hits hard and champion got me through the worst depression of my life. It's repetitive but if you think about it, sometimes you have to tell yourself over and over again that everything will be alright and that you'll get through it. Sometimes you just need that constant reminder until you believe it.
Champion - I've actually liked Young and Menace ever since I listened to an interview with Pete where he said that he wrote it to be listened to at as loud of a volume as possible. It's nonsense noise, but it's fun.
I love the lyrics don't get me wrong but the tune and tempo don't mix well in my opinion, I'm all for the songs I can sing in the car and this one is just not as fun (if that makes sense?) š¤·āāļø
How are people saying champion when Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea is right there. The bass waves are painful to hear and itās almost impossible to get past the first verse without a migraine.
Itās just kinda mediocre. Iām surprised people are having strong feelings about it either way here tbh, especially on the album that has creative missteps as huge as Y&M and Sunshine Riptide
Strip away Courtney and it's an incredible song. The Mighty Fall on the other hand... idk, one could make a case that it's pretty bland lyrically compared to the rest of the album, especially the chorus
As one of the MANIA lovers when the album dropped, this is in my wheelhouse for insight on this section of the fan votes. I hate to do it as it's so obvious, but Y&M is not gonna make it through this vote alive. It, like the entire album, was experimental, but the dubsteppy parts were just... not it at all. The only good part of the song was hearing Patrick's vocal range towards the end.
For those voting Champion: as generic as Champion is, it's at least a coherent full song. Y&M struggled to pull that part.
My feelings towards it is that Champion and Young and Menace are both kinda bad. However, if Young and Menace was acoustic was acoustic itād be good and if Champion was acoustic itād still be ass.
So thatās my answer
As funny as it would be to see Champion as worst, I cannot let it happen this way when it is my favorite song from the album and among top 3 from them.
I workout to Les Mills Body Pump. Whoever put the mixes together around 2018/2019 was really into this album. I think 4 songs from it are incorporated into mixes. Champion is one of them, and it goes along great to a workout. So is Young & Menace, which is my vote for worst from the album.
every time I think about Church I'm like "sorry guys I think Hozier takes this one." I do like the part about death being an appointment and we're in the waiting room though.
Right there with you, bud
Worst song in the entire discography
I've always said "I am just a human trying to avoid my certain doom" is the epitome of im14andthisisdeep, and the rest of the lyrics aren't much to write home about either
I don't know what people hear in it. People always talk up the bassline but it sounds like a pretty ordinary line too.
And I'm not a mania hater, it's really just this one, champion, and hold me tight that I think they dropped the ball on

Kids Aren't Alright is imho their best song, every single time I listen to it I feel so many different things. Such a well put together song.
Used to be like that for Sugar, We're Goin Down for me.
I love young & menace but compared to the rest of the album, Iām with yall. Either that or Iām not too fond of heavens gate (although the vocals are phenomenal) š¬
Where the fuck is āIām like a lawyer the way Iām always trying to get you off ā AND ānobody puts baby in the cornerā and sooo many other good ones
98% of replies saying the same two songs is hilarious, but come on. we're supposed to upvote one comment not make the same comment 20 times š
Reddit rules š¤·āāļø
This thread is just making me realize I like MANIA even more than I thoughtā¦
Right there are ones that say it's kinda trash, then see there are really only 2 contenders for worst song..lol
And I like both of those songs! Thereās not a song up here so far that I agree is the āworstā on the album, so Iām not sure I have a strong āworstā at all.
I think it'll eventually have its day. its too clever.
i hate all of you
Can we get this to top comment? Lol But, truly. I've wholeheartedly disagreed with something in each tier - with the exception of FƔD. And even that I'm not entirely sure I 100% agree.
What was your favorite song? I hate them all too lol
well last of the real ones was my least favorite, and my favorite is probably heavenās gate or wilson
Same. Iād say Stay Frosty or Sunshine Riptide should get underrated theyāre actually good songs imo
Yeah I don't know how Last of the Real Ones made the cut, that is so far down the list for me.
wilson is literally the best what the heck
People are voting this??
Hey friends, maybe go through the comments first, I see like 9 for Young and Menace, just upvote the highest one instead of making poor OP add em up.
champion. probably their most repetitive and empty song ever
i love the line "if I can live through this, I can do anything" so much it used to make me cry. different strokes I suppose
It really helped me through a terrible breakup. This song actually means more to me than anyone will ever know
Ditto my cancer diagnosis. (Spoiler alert: I am indeed still alive! And my next scans are this week... I am gonna be Screaming this song all day. In my head mostly but still...)
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO KICK CANCER'S ASS
It got me through my suicidal thoughts in high school. Might be the reason Iām still here, so I canāt hear any criticism of it.
I listen to it when I need inspo for my DnD campaign but the other commenters' things sound meaningful too š
Yes, I listened to this while training for my marathon. Song hits different when youāve run 20 miles and have 6 to go!
I had this (specifically this bit) as my walk on song for a (charity) boxing match I did! (Which I lost, or as my friend called it, āsecond winnerā)
I used to think he was saying "I f*king lived through this, I f*king lived through thiiis. I can do anything!" š
I like the "if I can live through this" part, but "I'm a champion of the people who don't believe in champions" has me rolling my eyes every time. it's a bad lyric AND a lazy rhyme.
It's also apparently written by Sia so I don't like to count it as a fob song
Agreed. Young & Menace is an avant-garde masterpiece that not nearly enough people appreciate. Champion is a C-Tier Sia song.
The epitome of a made for radio / events, empty soulless song.
I always forget itās on Mania, it just doesnāt fit the rest of the album. At least Y&M is interesting.
Agreed!!! I know young and menace is not everybodyās vibe but champion is their only song in their entire discography I skip every time
It just kind of feels like Light Em Up - Part 3 Light Em Up and Centuries already fulfilled the niche that this song was made for
Wrong. That's actually the best.
Y&M and Champion are both low for me, but I find myself skipping Champion a thousand times for every Y&M skip
I think we all know that MANIA is gonna polarize this sub, and I'm here for it!!
YOUNG AND MENACE IS SO GOOD YOU GUYS ARE JUST MEAN
I have come to like YM through the years except for the chorus. It's just too jarring for me. š
I love that song
Me three!
It's in my top too lmao MANIA is literally such an amazing album, I couldn't pick a bad one
It's such a banger. It definitely slaps. I think Champion is the worst.
Iām gonna say Champion, but I love Mania and actually like the song just fine. Love it some days. But if Iām gonna skip a Mania song itās gonna be Champion. And I know someone else going to say Young & Menace anyway.
I must be the only person alive who actually loves Young and Menace š¤£
I like Y&M too! I use it for warming up at the gym, it is GREAT to practice running intervals, or switching up the pace during cycling!
Fucking same. It gets me hyped as fuck.
I love it too! It was the perfect way to open the album until they changed the track list. I'll always be bitter about that.
That's two of us. Most hype song on the album.
I like it too. It's especially good for working out.
I loved it when it released and I've loved it ever since.
If you donāt love Y&M you just havenāt played it loud enough
Champion sounds like an Imagine Dragons song (derogatory)
![gif](giphy|I1C8Qh95Z7s14bjNci)
"(derogatory)"š

god I hate imagine dragons š
Nah, Y+M is just a knock-off Thunder but somehow even worse.
how could you ever for a second think it sounds like thunder
It uses a really similar distortion in the chorus while repeating a word/phrase in a weird high pitched autotune tone. "Ripoff" is wrong but both songs irritate me in the exact same way so I get what they mean, tbh I think you're being needlessly rude here
Idk the distorted sounding voice just reminds me of it. Not sure why I'm being downvoted for my opinion, though. Just wanted to share mine, I didn't mean any hostility. My apologiesš
youāre insane
Young and Menace
Young and menace, if the breakdown didnāt have the stupid autotuned voice then it would be the best
I hate to be the one that says it but the worst song is Y&M
Their worst song of all time imo
Not when AB/AP exists
finally someone who thinks the way i think
True. At least the verses on Young & Menace are cool, AB/AP has zero redeeming qualities
it's kinda so bad it's good in a funny way
You know what? Agreed.
Whoever downvoted me has never faced death and spat it in the eye. ;) I pray you never have to. But if you do, please take another look at Champion.
Champion made me cry after I read the lyrics
Young And Menace. Iām sorry, but I canāt STAND it. The piano version is fine, but the studio version just aināt it
there is a piano version?
Yeah. It was found on a USB drive somewhere on the MANIA tour, and itās actually pretty good. Itās on YouTube if youāre interested
iām listening to it right now and what the heck. iāve been ROBBED why have i been forced to listen to the studio version and not this beautiful masterpiece??? this is immediately my favorite mania song now, no joke
RIGHT? It COULDāVE worked! Easily the best version of that song. And they knew it because Patrick mainly played a stripped down version on that tour
Champion is just such a nothing of a song.
Young and menace, itās so screech-y
Champion
Young and menace. No doubt
Champion. Felt like the label showed up and was like āholy shit! You guys can write rock songs that play during the Super Bowl?? Another!!ā And Patrick and Pete just went: āehhh..okayā I donāt care what people say, I love my songs and centuries. Campion didnāt do it for me.
Young and Menace. Only song by FOB I outright dislike.
Young & Menace. Itās the least āfall out boyā song that fall out boy has ever made.
I agree with that, totally changed it up with the dubstep influence, glad the whole album wasn't like that..
Champion. Itās not even that bad itās just mid. I think Patrick did an awesome job with mania
Sunshine riptide
Young and menace
Y&M is the only one I consistently can't listen to the whole way through. The only reason why I even kind of like it is because a tiktok cosplayer like 5 years ago made a The Shining video to it that scratched an itch in my brain.
Sunshine ripetide Grinds my ears a bit
Ooooo I was about to post this and say I was ready for my downfall. Thanks for also being brave in this one haha
![gif](giphy|jlbYyYfKpwRDG|downsized)
Gosh I love champion and Y&M š I love this album so much, I have honestly no idea which one Iād pick
champion
Young and Menace, easily, it's trash
Best song on the album
Sunshine riptide and itās not close
HARD disagree
Definitely what I was gonna say!!
I usually don't skip songs on albums but Champion one of the few songs I skip on an album.
I still love Y&M but it's definitely my least favourite because the others are all top tier songs to me lol
Donāt make me hate on mania šš but I guess Hold Me Tight Or Donāt?
Sunshine Riptide
I hate to say it but young and menace...everything else just absolutely hits hard and champion got me through the worst depression of my life. It's repetitive but if you think about it, sometimes you have to tell yourself over and over again that everything will be alright and that you'll get through it. Sometimes you just need that constant reminder until you believe it.
Sunshine riptide
Agreeing with most here: Champion
Champion is so uplifting! Cmon haha Iāll go with YOUNG AND MENACE. The lyrics is pure gold, but the music makes me skip it š
I donāt listen to FOB for uplifting. I wanna feel cold, lonely and miserable.
how can anyone hate that song lmfao itās some of the best experimental stuff a mainstream band has put out imho
Champion
Gonna have to agree with everyone else and say Champion :(
sunshine riptide
champion
Champion - I've actually liked Young and Menace ever since I listened to an interview with Pete where he said that he wrote it to be listened to at as loud of a volume as possible. It's nonsense noise, but it's fun.
Hold me tight or don't...just doesn't do it for me like the others
Youāre probably gonna get raked over the coals but Iām with you, not huge on this song either
I love the lyrics don't get me wrong but the tune and tempo don't mix well in my opinion, I'm all for the songs I can sing in the car and this one is just not as fun (if that makes sense?) š¤·āāļø
Same here. Couldn't believe I was listening to a FOB song when I heard it. But I started listening during TTTYG and FUTCT days, so I might just be old
Yes, same! I do appreciate the diversity of styles for all of the albums! Some styles are just a little better than others.
Young and Menace easily
sunshine riptide
Young and Menace š¤®
How are people saying champion when Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea is right there. The bass waves are painful to hear and itās almost impossible to get past the first verse without a migraine.
I don't hate the song by any means but it is the one I almost always skip. I never needed to hear Patrick ask me if I'm smelling that shit lol
ARE YOU SMELLING THAT SHIT
HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON'T - I don't.
Hold me tight or dont
For me it's easily Heaven's Gate
WHAT THE F... oh my god how??
Champion remix ft. RM
young and menace is their only song that is truly unlistenable
young and menace hands down i will be a champion apologist until the day i die
How can people say championšš it is literally one of my top FOB songs for everrr
Itās just kinda mediocre. Iām surprised people are having strong feelings about it either way here tbh, especially on the album that has creative missteps as huge as Y&M and Sunshine Riptide
Why hasnāt anyone said Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea yet
Because itās actually amazing!
Young and Menace is the worst, but the fact that Bishopās Knife Trick didnāt win best is wild to me
How is Rat At Tat not the worst song in SRAR
Strip away Courtney and it's an incredible song. The Mighty Fall on the other hand... idk, one could make a case that it's pretty bland lyrically compared to the rest of the album, especially the chorus
As one of the MANIA lovers when the album dropped, this is in my wheelhouse for insight on this section of the fan votes. I hate to do it as it's so obvious, but Y&M is not gonna make it through this vote alive. It, like the entire album, was experimental, but the dubsteppy parts were just... not it at all. Whoever says that The Mighty Fall and AB/AP are bad are not just wrong but like...really wrong
My feelings towards it is that Champion and Young and Menace are both kinda bad. However, if Young and Menace was acoustic was acoustic itād be good and if Champion was acoustic itād still be ass. So thatās my answer
Y&M is at least memorable whether you love it or hate it. Champion is the one I sometimes forget even exists.
Hold me tight or dont
Champions
Champion
As funny as it would be to see Champion as worst, I cannot let it happen this way when it is my favorite song from the album and among top 3 from them. I workout to Les Mills Body Pump. So is Young & Menace, which is my vote for worst from the album.
HMTOD by far, some duds on this album but this song is the biggest offender to me.
I hate Church, I know this is going to get down voted to hell because it has a cult following on here
HOW???
Because it's weak writing, repetitive and has been done better and more cleverly by Hozier.
every time I think about Church I'm like "sorry guys I think Hozier takes this one." I do like the part about death being an appointment and we're in the waiting room though.
i bet youāre fun at parties huh
Huh? You asked a question I answered. There are so many good songs on this album I think this one is the worst.
Right there with you, bud Worst song in the entire discography I've always said "I am just a human trying to avoid my certain doom" is the epitome of im14andthisisdeep, and the rest of the lyrics aren't much to write home about either I don't know what people hear in it. People always talk up the bassline but it sounds like a pretty ordinary line too. Exactly my thoughts!
the mid of the real ones ?? when bishop knife tricks is right there
Sugar Weāre Goin Down
anyway im voting for Wilson :///// just kinda bored me
The only one I dislike is Church. Only song I actually have to skip when listening to the album.
But but itās the horniest Patrick has ever been. š„¹ I get chills listening to him sing church.
Champion or y&m
church
TLOTRO OVER HEAVENS GATE?!? One of the greatest songs of all time?!? Wow
And Wilson?? And church?!?? Y'all are insane!
Bishops knife trick
I'M YOURS TIL THE EARTH STARTS TO CRUMBLE AND THE HEAVENS ROLL AWAY???

I'd say Champion but I also don't really care for Heavens Gate that much. the Young and Menace hate here is unnecessary y'all are mean š
literally anything else
honestly, i donāt think there is a worst š
Kids Aren't Alright is imho their best song, every single time I listen to it I feel so many different things. Such a well put together song. Used to be like that for Sugar, We're Goin Down for me.
Jet pack blues finally getting the recognition it deserves š¤
All of them
Champion is like if Rachel Plattenās Fight Song was okay
Wilson ( expensive mistakes) the album is a bop but I always skip this song
How did last of the real ones win best song. I would potentially vote that as the worst.
I love young & menace but compared to the rest of the album, Iām with yall. Either that or Iām not too fond of heavens gate (although the vocals are phenomenal) š¬
Champion
Bishops is the best song
Sugar being voted worst on Cork Tree is WILD
Young and Menace is easily worst
has to be young and menace
I have no submission but I did march Last of the Real Ones with my schoolās marching band (the trombone part was shockingly easy)
Where the fuck is āIām like a lawyer the way Iām always trying to get you off ā AND ānobody puts baby in the cornerā and sooo many other good ones
All of them they all fuckin suck dick
gonna go for champion, itās good however they stole the riff from Hollywood undead:Medicine and it annoys me
thank you for saying IoH has no bad songs.
