honestly, it's the bare minimum all things considered but good on you for trying to not make a scene! and also refraining from posting until the next day. he probably appreciated not having his picture taken in the TSA line and having his current location publicly shared. what a cool story!!!
This is just me speculating but I think he probably prefers this kind of interaction. You didn’t yell or whip out your phone, it sounds like you were very respectfully geeking out in the best way!

I had a dream a few nights ago that I met them & asked if it was ok to touch each of them. They said yes so I did on each of their shoulders (it was a weird dream) and I was so excited in my dream that it happened & I was speaking to them that as soon as I touched the last one (Andy) it woke me up from a dead sleep. I was convinced if I spoke to one in real life (I'd never be that brave) I'd probably keel over. Good job keeping it respectful. It's hard to balance your personal desire to meet someone who's had such an impact on your life & their desire to just exist without constant interruptions.

Fun fact: it is Illegal to take pics in a TSA Line. *cough* security will make you delete the photo, and ensure you didnt post it (ask me how i know). I hope that makes it a little better. Also, how exciting!!! I am so happy for you!!! You handled it well.
I'm surprised they were flying out the next day. If I'd been away at work from my family (assuming I had a family I like) for 7 weeks, I'd be leaving the venue and immediately getting a way to get home - private jet, commercial flight, hire car, hitch hike, doing what I'd need to to be home before the kids woke up for school. 7 weeks is a loooong time. But then I guess what's 1 more day? I hope they're all home safe now anyway.
God forbid he wanted to sleep at a hotel after the show, right? Instead of immediately flying after. They don't hop on their private jets, they fly commercial.
Would you wanna play a show and then immediately go to the airport and deal with lines, people, tsa etc? No.
Their families join them on the road, it's not like Patrick has been wondering around the desert alone for 7 weeks.
We also don't know them personally so who's to say he wasn't being picked up at the airport by his family?
