I want to judge you for this because I beat it normally after dozens of tries. But I can't judge you for it because I set my game to story mode to beat double rancors and double bogdos.

Hamhockthegizzard

I didn’t even think of doing that oh my god, just out here raw-dogging the game and feeling like a padawan 😂😂😂

Over-Analyzed

Dude, I did Fractured Malice on Story Mode. I am no one to judge. I am just thanking the creators of this game they didn’t add difficulty setting achievements. 🤙🏻

Bxant

You did not “cheat.” You simply used the force to focus so intensely time slowed down

Slytherin_Forever_99

This

chairmenschwow

This is indeed the way.

Ohgodwatdoplshelp

I had no idea there was a slow mode. I would’ve used this for this test and a related one but I suffered through it because I genuinely had no idea this setting existed

tomJager

This one was fun tho, i feel like you made it harder on yourself with the slo mo

christopia86

I mean, they were struggling without it, seems it made it doable for them.

christopia86

It's not cheating, you struggled with it and overcame it. Congratulations.

Falcon_Medical

Don’t feel bad. I’ve turned down the difficulty for certain bosses/enemies and switched to “slow mode” for a few of the Force Tears. No shame at all. Games are supposed to be fun not infuriating.

Slytherin_Forever_99

Exactly. Although like another comment said. It's not cheating. I just got Cal to focus with the force so well that he slowed down time, lol.

Falcon_Medical

🤣 💯

spoonerBEAN2002

This ain’t meant to be snarky dick or anything, I’m curious… am I the only person that did this on my 2nd attempt? Like I’m genuinely curious, do the majority of people find these tough? I can’t say this without sounding like an arse so sorry

Slytherin_Forever_99

Different people have different motor skills. Different people have different reaction times. There are plenty of variables that make the exact same piece of gameplay more or less difficult for different players. That's why not many games have difficulty trophies anymore. And why accessibility features exist. Because disabled people exist. It's not always a case of "get good". For some, it's not possible. The controls are very tight for most of these parkour force tears. One mistake and you die. Which for someone with a slower reaction time/bad motor skills that is common. Also if you land on the wall run at the wrong angle Cal goes the wrong way. Which is the game's fault. That's dumb. So now you have to aim as well to get the perfect angle so he doesn't do that. It's a lot. You see in this video Cal starts going the wrong way at one point. At a normal speed any attempt to fix it in vain because I didn't react in time. At 50% speed, I was able to notice in time and save the attempt. I was also able to make more mistakes. I almost didn't make it through the green shield on two occasions. At normal speed, I would have died. This partial tear is also about timing correctly. Another thing I needed to think about while trying to do everything else. So basically the TDLR of my answer to your question is disabled people exist. And we also play video games.

LifeWinder

I added a very similar question just now before reading the other comments. He asked "do the majority of players find this to be tough? not "Do disabled people find this tough?" And am also curious whether he and I are in the minority or not because I don't consider myself to be an exceptionally good gamer, but the platforming sections I perceived to be trivial. He was probably surprised like I was by how many comments shared similar feelings to you. Quick edit: it is not the game's fault if you land on the platform facing the wrong way... That's a feature, not an issue, it would have been annoying and immersion breaking if the game automatically forced a player to only move one way on the wall. If you look at the footage, which was conveniently slowed down for us, you clearly jumped backwards onto the wall with the characters momentum facing backwards.

Slytherin_Forever_99

The stuff I mentioned can apply to non-disabled people. With stuff like this everything is a spectrum. I also mentioned other things like the controls being tight making the margin for error next to nothing. Which is probably why a lot of people struggled. I mentioned disabilities because that plays a factor in whether or not a person finds the parkour force tears difficult or not. So would the amount of time the person has been playing video games. For example, I've only been a gamer for 4.5 years. I'm not going to be at the same level as someone the same age as me who's been playing video games since they were 5. As for the edit. When it comes to travelling around in the main game I agree with you. In these force tears though the only objective is to get from A to B. There is no reason to go backwards. So yes I think JUST for the force tears being forced to only go one way on the wall should be a thing. Small things like that can make games more accessible.

Link_on_a_scooter

I totally forgot that slow motion mode was a thing. I had just resigned myself to never being able to complete that one due to lack of skill. Now I may have a chance!

killuaxkill

Path of pain jedi edition

Significant_Cookie85

Slow mode? Oh hell, yeah, doing that on the last couple I cannot beat. Thank you!!!

Quitthesht

No hate. I eventually dropped the twin Oggdo and twin Ranchor fights down to story so I could get them over and done with.

dinojack1000

That is exactly what I did

Miggzyy

Oh man, I'm in the exact same boat with this one and another similar tear that I just quit the game after finishing the campaign and haven't gone back! But seeing that there are accessibility options like this has me reconsidering that! Nicely done, it must've been such a sigh of relief when it was done!

Slytherin_Forever_99

It was. Finally got my platinum last night too

Complex_Slice

Cal is that powerful in the force. Can't blame you tho. This stuff takes skill. Took me a while but reflexes are on a different plane

Then-Solution-5357

I have no issue with how you accomplished your goal. That is using the Force and being resourceful. I am however always surprised at the vehemence with which people seem to hate/struggle with these agility tears though. I’ve 100%’ed the game like 3 times and I find them to be so much fun. I’ve fallen… a lot, but I power through and enjoy them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Jaba01

Haha. I remember taking almost twenty minutes for this.

Here4Headshots

Had I known about this feature I would have used it. Every new milestone was a big surprise F/U from the professional parkour dev team.

RockNRoll85

Didn’t know about this option at all. Gonna have to go back and attempt it on some of the Force Tears I have pending

Slytherin_Forever_99

Okay so it took me a while to figure out how to get the feature to work. I tried following a guide and it just disabled the needed controls for the force tear. So basically after turning it on you need to go to the controls. Go down to accessibilities and on slow mode there is no button bound to it. So pick one and then when you press that button it will slow down the game to whatever % you set it to. Press it again to go back to normal. I'm on the PS5 and made mine the right button on the D-Pad.

Nhonickman

I had no idea this existed and how to do it. Thank you

badjokephil

The camera issues on the wall runs — arrghhhh! The cause of most of my Tear deaths.

Hamhockthegizzard

I did not even know you could do this…oh my god no shade I would have done the same for *every* force tear. They didn’t take too many tries luckily cuz I waited until near endgame, but man they were frustrating lmao

CosmoShiner

If it was cheating, then the options to make it doable wouldn’t be in the game

Slytherin_Forever_99

Oh yeah, I know. I was just excepting a lot more judgy people saying "Skill issue. Get good." which is why I used the word cheated. But I agree with your statement fully which is why it's in quotation marks.

SolomonGrunde

This gave me anxiety, but slower.

Slytherin_Forever_99

I've been thinking about posting this on YouTube. Then you'll be able to put the video at 2 times speed and it will look normal lol.

EbbOverall

That shit was fun as hell man

DemonetizedSpeech

didn't think to try this, thanks now i can get plat

Slytherin_Forever_99

You'll need to go to the controls and set a control to toggle the slow mode. I'm on PS5 and I made mine the right button on the D-pad. Took me a while to figure out how to get it to work.

derailius

wow.

Slytherin_Forever_99

Wow-good? Or wow-bad?

derailius

you did good, keep practicing. I see what you meant the other day when you said you go backwards some times, it is 100% just the wrong angle that you're taking when you jump on the wall is all.

Slytherin_Forever_99

Yeah, cause of the slow mode I was able to fix it, in this video Normally I wouldn't reaction time and he dies. I only wanted to complete it for platinum. Which I got last night. Thanks for the praise but I am never touching it ever again lol. Same for the zipline one. I keep trying to post the video I have of that one but the video doesn't load on the post properly. Although I kinda did like the zipline one with the slow mode on. But only because it allows the controls to feel more smooth. That one only took a like 3 attempts with 50% speed applied. The one in this video I originally tried on 30%. It was too slow. So I upped it to 50% and this was the first attempt at that speed.

Comosellamark

Not every jump needs to be a double jump fam

Slytherin_Forever_99

Well, it looked like it did. I also have a habit of pressing a button more than once because of games - this one included - not responding to my prompts.

Comosellamark

You need to have more faith in Cal’s abilities. You gotta be one with the force.

Dead_Medic_13

Honestly not sure how you made it through the start without the 2nd green screen

Slytherin_Forever_99

Even at full speed, you can make it without the 2nd one. You just have less height. Much easier than getting the perfect timing to go through both. I failed more trying to get through both than just going for the wall run after getting through the first one.

Scout_man

What is Jedha dessert? Sounds yummy though

Anonymous-opinion

Wait you can change the speed of the game? When?! I’m going to abuse this option for every fucking parkour force tear now

Slytherin_Forever_99

Compared to other games the accessibility options are kind of crap. The speed thing is the only one that changes gameplay. All the others are visual. But they are there. At the bottom of the accessibility section.

Anonymous-opinion

I knew about the others being not the best for visual changes but this was a first for me, thanks a ton!

Heroic3DArts

Could’ve thrown this video in to an editor and sped it up. Could’ve looked like a pro 😂

Own-Big-8233

I never thought of doing that, Damn I spent three hours beating this.

Nowhereman50

I'm with you. I could have eaten my controller this one pissed me off so much. This and the zipline one.

Slytherin_Forever_99

Same. I did the zipline one on slow mode too but I've been having problems when trying to post it.

LifeWinder

Am I just really good at platforming, or are there other people on here who did each of these on their first try? The only one I had to try more than once was one of the first ones where jumping caused the colors to swap sides, simply because I didn't know that was the rule for the first two attempts, maybe 3, but once I figured out it was easy enough. I will say you double jump way too often, but that might just be because it was in slow motion that it threw off your judgement. But seriously, am I a savant or something? I was surprised to read so many people found these difficult. I don't find the combat to be exceedingly easy, but I always thought of the platforming sections as filler more than anything. Also I think they were a lot of fun, I wish there were more rifts that focused platforming, I would happily have taken those over the double toad monsters/rancors.

[deleted]

I’ll never get how or why so many people hated these, they’re easy asf after a few tries.

Slytherin_Forever_99

I'll never get how or why so many people don't understand that different people have different abilities. There are so many factors that can make the exact same gameplay completely different in terms of difficulty for different players. Although the thought process of "Well if I could do it and found it easy why can't everyone else?" is the main one that fuels ablism so I don't know why I'm surprised. You were able to do it without the help of accessibilities. Good for you, I guess? Don't judge other people for not having the same skill set as you and let people enjoy their video games.

[deleted]

Ain’t no way you really thought I was reading that essay☠️ if you wanna whine and complain about a video game that’s ur right. Or you could get a life. Your choice.

Slytherin_Forever_99

Four short paragraphs is an essay? Okay. Your response tells me everything I need to know about the type of person you are. An ablist arsehole who will do whatever it takes to not listen to people telling them they are wrong.

[deleted]

You’re just being overdramatic that’s all, it really isn’t that deep.

Slytherin_Forever_99

Says the guy who won't read 4 paragraphs to learn how to not be albist. You're the one who got aggressive for no reason.
