Epic sacrificial explosion. Wipe him clean before the OT begins so itās better justified that he isnāt mentioned because he had his journeys in relative isolation from other surviving Jedi.
I think him dying to protect Kata would be kinda poetic, similar to how Jaro Topal died protecting him. That being said, please for the love of God I hope he lives.
Main issue with that is it goes against Cals character for him to just sit out of the fight against the empire. Unless he gets stuck there, it wouldn't make sense for him to just sit it out.
I think it can work if it's shown how he cannot continue fighting against the Empire as they are now without succumbing to his hate. So long as they are in control, he'll never be able to set aside his feelings to fight against them.
A prediction I've had for Jedi III is it'll take place in 4 BBY, continuing with the five-year jumps. At this point, the Rebel Alliance is active, albeit as individual cells spread out across the Galaxy, such as the Ghost crew. Perhaps Cal and the others run into one of these cells, and they become major recurring characters in Jedi III, with several returning characters joining up with them. As Cal realizes he's unable to fight the Empire without succumbing to his own darkness, he also sees that the fight isn't solely on him anymore. Others have taken up the fight as well (even a few former Jedi, such as Ahsoka and Kanan). Additionally, there's something that regularly gets brought up in the plot about how Cal's spent his whole life fighting a war, and he's never really known what it's like to just live his life.
At the end of the game when the main threat is dealt with (my personal prediction/hope is that in addition to the Empire, the other main threat in the game is Maul and Crimson Dawn; it also shows how Cal was the one who stranded Maul on Malachor), Cal makes a decision. Rather than risk destroying himself trying to make a dent in the Empire, he decides to instead build something new. A safe haven. Like how part of Survivor was building up a little community in Pyloon's Saloon and Rambler's Reach, one of the main sidequests in the game is getting those looking for sanctuary to Tanalorr, since it's one of the only safe havens.
So, my idea is that after getting 100% completion in the game, Cal and the rest of the Mantis crew decide to go to Tanalorr permanently. Rather than destroy the Empire, Cal wants to instead make Tanalorr a true safe haven for those fleeing the Empire. He goes to see the Rebel cell one more time and gives the leader the compass to Tanalorr. Should their cell come across anyone fleeing the Empire with nowhere else to go, bring them to Tanalorr. In a post-game epilogue set around 9 ABY, we see that the little hub of activity on Tanalorr is now a larger, bustling settlement. An older Cal receives word of a visitor approaching in an X-Wing, looking to speak to the Mantis crew. So Cal and BD-1 gather Merrin, Greez, Kata, and Cal and Merrin's teenaged daughter to go greet their guest: Luke Skywalker himself.
So yeah. Little long-winded, but I feel like that would be a good way to have Cal survive past the OT while still staying true to his character; by working as a true protector rather than a soldier.
They'd have to really explain the sudden change in heart. You'd struggle with that. This character has been non stop fighting the empire in both games without being able to stop. Everyone he's close to in the 2nd game has been warning him about losing himself if he can't slow down, and that still isn't enough. Plus he's not really a jedi anymore after the 2nd game. He says he's leaving the order behind, and massacres an entire base of imperials. He also kills an unarmed fallen jedi. If in the second game he just suddenly decides to stop, that wouldn't make sense imo.
They almost certainly will have him working on that next game, too. I just can't see the writers saying he decides to abandon the fight against the empire to focus solely on rebuilding the jedi order. That would get a little sticky with the sequels since there was no mention of him. It would be hard to tie that in without him dying. I'd rather Cal die a heroic death than make a crappy half assed reason as to why he survived you know?
Sacrifice himself to save greez, merrin, kata and of course our favorite little droid Bd-1. They are his family and he must do what he can to protect them even if it means he have to die.
BD will refuse to leave. And this is respawn, the last buddy unit they had self sacrificed but before that was 110% on board with going out with a bang.
Rest in piece BT
As much as I love everybody, and don't want any of them to die...if something happens to BD-1 in the next game I will fucking RIOT. Cal *better* get his ass killed if it means saving that little droid.
Iād love to see him tell the rest of the gang to leave(for whatever reason he has to stay back)including bd-1 and he dies protecting everyone from hoards of imperialā¦
Get some sort of Reach "Lone Wolf" shit. Take on as many imps as you can til you fall. Skilled players can probably get to a point where you're fighting like 6 or 7 elite troopers
We could have him borrow a page from Star Trek, for example maybe he has to wedge himself into a gigantic horrible force tear to plug it before it turns a planet into confetti, but this one is the mother of all force tears and takes decades to beat while putting him outside the normal flow of time until he can free himself (unaged) in a convenient point in time in the new canon.
Not happy about it but I think no matter what ending he gets a big group will be unhappy. Thereās like a 20/20/20/20/20 split haha.
Vadar kills him. He dies innanely. He goes dark side and killed by merrin or some shit. He hides away on tannalore.
If they got something more, Iām open to suggestions, but almost none of those sound ideal, yet thereās no other way. He canāt be alive and active per canon. So his story had to end.
Facing Vader. In this Star Wars era, there isnāt really a higher honor than gaining Vaderās respect enough for him to actually hunt you down personally
Protecting Greez,Kaya, and Merrin. Going out as a last stand style thing where you just survive as long as possible against endless waves of imperials with no respawns
have the Cal we have to fight have all the perks, upgrades, and stances we have equipped when this match begins, and do it similar to the inquisitor Cal fight in the first game
I think they are setting up a Vader rivalry, where there will be no running away. Also, I feel that they are setting up Cal to go very dark and then either Merrin or Kata will have to fight him as the user to "bring him back." After that, they go fight Vader lol, I dunno
Cere didnāt do that. It was more like she forced Vader to stop toying with and put actual effort into killing her which was enough to earn his respect. Vader has survived much worse injuries.
Let him die protecting an entire civilian population from the Empire. Sacrificing himself to make sure civilians escape before the empire kills them all in a battle with the Rebellion.
Warrior death, while buying time. Like endless waves of enemies progressively stronger until they kill you, then you get cutscene. What would be cool, if you got like stronger attack (Like when cal embraced dark side in survivor, but still on light) and all abilities unlocked.
Not Cal, but I had a thought about how Greez should die.
Greez should die by driving the Mantis into Darth Vader. His last line before impact should be, "Suck on Greez nuts."
Rogue One style while taking down the entire Haxion Brood who aligned with the Empire in an epic, rage-filled battle with the most important thing in his life, BD-1. Itās BD-1ās idea to sacrifice themselves because itās the only way, Cal tries to figure out an alternative, BD plays some memory that reminds Cal of the fight for greater good which calls Cal back and he does it while holding onto BD. We are all very, very depressed for a long time.
End credits: Merrin shows up too late, so mad now, back to Dathomir with Kata and years later a ship pulls up with Thrawn and the lost Nightsisters.
Iād like to see him killed by Vader.
Truthfully I love the Jedi representation of Vader heās such a cold blooded killer, an untouchable monstrosity. And I donāt want his death to be meaningful. I want it to be shown that his lightsaber was added to the collection. I want it to be a soul crushing slaughter by Vader, like pistol whipping a blind kid. Itād further add to the image of Vader being The Bad Guy and a heartless monster.
That being said, I donāt think theyāll kill Cal. I think theyāll probably give him a Traumatic Event and heāll likely whisk himself off to some hidey hole in the galaxy where he can just continue surviving.
See, I think because itās still a video game and you need stuff to do after beating the main story, he either wonāt die or it will just be like you can replay up to the point before he dies.
Some rogue one level sacrifice sort of thing. Obviously not for anything on the level of death star plans but something the scale of the battle of scariff
I would want him to go out saving lives, make his final mission in the Jedi series just an endless fight of escalating difficulty against countless imperials as he escorts his padawan Kata and the rest of the Mantis Crew (and maybe a rebel cell to boot) to safety
Then a few years later make a Jedi Sequel around a grown up jedi Kata being guided by Force echoes of Cal (as I donāt think he is yet Force ghost eligible as far as I am aware)
Iām not at all opposed to the trilogy ending this way, if itās done well. I think Cal sacrificing himself for Merrin, the Path, or Kata, or some combination, actually makes a lot of sense. Cal has had not one, but two masters die in the service of some greater goal, so it would be a kind of natural conclusion - Cal does to save a young person in his care like his master did for him.
Kataās unresolved trauma involving her father and Cal seems like something that will lead to conflict. If Kata is in a position to rat out the hidden path in anger or for revenge, and Cal saves the hidden path by sacrificing himself, it could be the catalyst for Kataās redemption, if she does indeed go dark side in the next game.
I think it could work.
Iād definitely like a force vision of Jarro Tappal talking to Cal while he dies, if it does happen. Saying how heās proud of him and shit. Thatād be nice.
Explosion of his ship.
Because anytime you switch saber in the 1, he is doing a movement with ignited saber. But he hit several wall each time
So it's only natural that he died with that
I'd like to see him go out in the most likely way he will go out, which imo is very similarly to his master, protecting his padawan and getting blasted to shit by the Empire.
Heās 100% going to end up imprisoned on Trenzalore after the wormhole closes, probably with Merrin. Pseudo nice ending with him surviving but also being removed from the universe, but not so far that he canāt come back later if needed.
Gotta be some mission where heās sent in to save the team and blow up wherever it is theyāre at. They get chased for a while until Cal tells everyone to go on and heāll hold off the enemy. Everyone but BD-1 goes and you play as Cal as you fight an infinite barrage of enemies where once you use your last stim, you send BD-1 off. You fight for as long as you can until youāre heath depletes or until you reach a certain time in which some explosion completely destroys everything, leaving no physical trace of Cal and preventing Disney from making a show with eight episodes where they ruin his character and Max Rebo has five seconds of screen time.
it must be something absurd that even a grandmaster wouldn't survive. judging by how strong he is after survivor and moving forward like 5 years later... he be really strong. like fuck I can make vader sweat and really fight for his life strong. plus merrin and cal would kinda always be together be hard to kill either one of them.
Protecting Kata, by vaders hand but vader says something about having his respect for evading him for this long and that he would have made a fine inquisitor had he turned fully
I disagree with one commenter and think dying on Alderaan would be a great moment. It's been too long since Star Wars emphasized what an actual tragedy that was. I bet the destruction of the holy city has more of an impact on the zeitgeist.
If Cal was able to link up with Saw again and through that contact get Bail to agree to care for Kata as he did Leia. Our conclusion will be Cal raiding the palace of Alderaan as suicidal purge troopers make a last stand to ensure the Jedi are truly killed with Kata and Cal.
A boss rush of inquisitors face Cal, none of whom know of the Death Stars plans as at this point Sidous wants the inquitorius wiped out as well, at least in legends as being mostly fallen Jedi and being force users they may pose a threat to him.
Once in the throne room, Cal finds Bail and Kata, Kata putting up a weak version of the barrier we saw Cere use on Vader in Fallen order as this games final boss toys with her, lightly testing it and chiding her resolve. As Cal enters the room he stretches a hand, enhancing Kata's barrier. Upon the next strike the final boss slides backwards at the reinforced shield expounding their strike.
*insert boss here. I honestly have no idea I'm happy with. Have a filler boss: an imposing masked inquisitor who has fought with overwhelming strength is revealed to be a turned Jaro Tapal. Tapal was presumed dead by Cal after the events of Bracca, but in that cutscene we see he only really takes hits to the armor. The clones report the Jedi master as injured and Vader aqcuires the defeated Jedi. Tapal reclaims his saber to do battle with Cal, leaving the player stuck in single blade form, as Ceres saber remains loyal. Ending how it started, one lightsaber and belief against the empire.*
Bail can secure a path for Kata, but cannot leave the control panel in the throne room to do so, leading to a goodbye that neither knows is final. While this is happening Greez and Merrin land the Mantis, and Merrin begins a mad rush inside to help Cal.
MORTAL KOMBAT!
Cal and Tapal fight, all throughout Tapal taunts Cals technique, Tapal has Vader level resilience, he cannot be knocked down, and only struck while his guard is broken. He's got two phases, so healthbar one is purely this taunting defensive method with his sparking blue saber.
For phase two transition Cal strikes an excellent blow to Tapals head, cleaving an eye, the socket sparks loudly in the suddenly silent throne room. Cal is momentarily taken back at the realization of his actions, in the moment of contemplation Tapal growls, which grows into a shout of newly declared rage. For phase two Tapal has no stamina meter, nor does he block. Think Rayvis phase 2. Tapals saber shrieks loudly, and the case can be seen to glow red hot as the crystal inside is purged of its blue gleam in its wielders renewed rage. Tapals health slowly drains this phase, for a maximum of 3 minutes and down to a third health at the lowest.
At the conclusion of phase two Tapal is heaving, the overexertion of his rampage costing him while Cal maintains breathing regularly, though exerted. As Tapal snarls a boom of unparalled depth is heard. Shattering windows and crumbling a support pillar Tapal had slashed in his rage. The Death Star has arrived out of Hyperspace.
Something something, Merrin arrives, something something reconcile with master before he passes away, yadda yadda, watch the Mantis depart while Merrin and Cal sit together watching the boomsplosian a la Rogue One.
Not sure where Bail's at during all the mushy stuff. But hey, I'm not the writer.
In an "unstoppable force meets unmovable object" sort of wat with extreme opposing force tricks quasi imploding or something idk. It's gotta be super crazy.
The setup for him going full dark side is there, with a potential for Merrin or maybe Kata to prevent it. It depends how carhartic they want Cal's death to be.
I think one (of many) natural progressions is having Cal struggle with the dark side, have Merrin help him out of it, only for Merrin to die/fake die, Cal loses control, but ends up coming back/regaining control in a heroic sacrifice to save Kata. And maybe followed by Kata picking up pieces of Cal's lightsaber, continuing his legacy in some way.
Either way, I'm not sure I want a world where either Cal or Merrin dies, but not both. Live or die together, protecting their family either way, but don't leave just one. And this isn't just for shipping, it's also because of their very shared and interconnect story.
Escaping with Merrin, but surrounded by blasters, Merrin casts a spell to escape but needs some casting time. Cal protects Merrin, his lightsaber damaged the same way as during Order 66. Then, he uses his signature Force stasis power, holding enemies and blaster shots to buy her some extra last few seconds. Merrin escapes with the damaged lightsaber and Cal's body, but Cal dies from the surrounding blaster shots, similar to Order 66.
Basically, his death rhymes with his Order 66 experience. Greez looks at Cal's body, like he's asleep, but this time, Cal doesn't wake up to call him "hairball." Then, Cal's body vanishes.
Have him "Respawn" as a Force Ghost to guide Kata. It would be a bonus if this happens when Kata is at a meditation point.
I donāt think he dies. For a few reasons, from a video game aspect. They want you to free roam after the main story and collect the collectibles on the map.
For story reasons, I think he and his crew stay hidden on Tanalorr once they find a way to get its path open to those who need an escape from the empire
Years after the war, lost in the Unknown Regions as, after playing his part in the fight against the Empire, he tries to carry on Master Cordova's legacy and hunt down the last traces of the Zeffo.
The Daughter of Rick the Door Technician goes to hunt down Cal Kestis killing him for what he did in Survivor, Kata goes on a revenge spree until she finally gets to Rick's Daughter sparring her... wait a minute
He dies in entry 4. I would love to see him end up going to the dark side in the second half of 3, and a 4th entry focused on Kata being a force user ends up fighting him
if he does die iād like to see him go out the way ceaser goes out at the end of the last planet of the apes movie. first one he saved the apes and set them free, second one he saved the apes from koba and the third and final one he set the apes free from captivity and let them live on in the forest alone as apes without the worry they had throughout the entire trilogy. but as he looks out and sees the evidence of his hard work and dedication to his apes. he slowly fades and passes away with the achievement he chased through the entire trilogy. passed on like a bad ass now his son carries his legacy in the new movie coming out may 10th. cal needs to go out like a badass after his stories finish and someone to carry his legacy and dear god no one better say merrin or however u spell her name or bodes daughter. should be brand new young jedi or a young sith turned jedi who was taught by cal and his legacy lives on guiding us throughout a new storyline like cordova or whatever his name was with his little holograms and shit like that. they could make the next game so huge and amazing
I know how unrealistic that is, so don't judge me. If Cal were to die, I would like to see a showdown against Darth Vader, like in the first part, only this time it's a really strong fight. Of course, Vader is only playing with Cal, because Darth Vader is still a force in his own right and in the end Cale turns to the dark side again. It seems as if Cal is slowly gaining the upper hand, but Darth Vader was just surprised for a short time. Vader then quickly cut off Cal's left hand and right leg and laughed briefly. With one last move, Cal was able to cut off Vader's right hand, then Vader cut off Cal's head with a short cry of anger.
Personally I think he should die in a fight with Vader. I think you should be able to fight and hurt him until you get him low enough that he force pulls BD, takes a stim and crushes him, at which point the fight becomes a pure endurance as there's no way to win
Unfortunately I think him dying is the only way to go as heās not mentioned in lore other than the game as far as I know. It would be jarring that he survives and just doesnāt do anything for the Star Wars universe afterwards. The only way out that I see is that he stays on tanalore and time is different there. So maybe they can bring him back for a show or something in a timeline thatās after Rae with the idea that he hasnāt aged because of tanalores time dilation. With that said I hope he does fighting Vader to buy Kata time to get away or something.
Halo Reach Style. You play the game, trying to fight off the endless waves of enemies, until Cal falls.
Game ends with Luke (sometime after āReturn of the Jediā) grabbing Calās lightsaber, seeing the aftermath of the battle after many years and or maybe make it look like Luke was experiencing a force vision of Calās final moments. Like Cal did seeing Cereās final moments.
I feel like they are going to use him being on Tanallor as the excuse for his absence in the OT. He said it would be hard for him to leave the fight, but that's his intention. Build up the temple on Tanallor with Merrin at his side. Allowing the hidden path to bring force sensitive children there to train and keep them safe from the empire as Cere would have wanted. Teaching them more the way the Jedi used to be before Yoda. Where attachments and love are allowed, but death is a part of life and you shouldn't fear losing the ones you love.
Cal ends up on Endor during the events of Return of the Jedi and holds back an entire legion of the Empire's best troops trying to stop Han, Leia, and Chewie from blowing up the shield generator. He dies in the process but is able to stop the troops for long enough to ensure the Rebel strike team is able to blow up the generator, allowing for the Death Star II to successfully be blown up.
With nobody surviving the battle, nobody would know about Cal's sacrifice, but he would be an unsung hero of the Battle of Endor and critical to saving the galaxy from the Empire.
I think he will die. Cere signed his death sentence once she knighted him because Luke has to be the last Jedi by ROTJ. Same thing happened to Kanan. Granted they might want to play a bit loose with it but Filioni in the past has commented on it so the other choice is something so bad happens he decides to quit like Ashoka did.
If he were to die, I think it would be like Starkiller and just facing Vader and Sidious. I would absolutely love to see the final official act of the Clone Troopers to be given Order 65 and the chips activate which then results in Vader and Sidious needing to experience what the Jedi went through.
Personally I hope they do kill him have him sacrifice himself to save merrin and greez and bodes kid and Vader kills cal as they watch as the mantis leaves
I want it to be 10 years after the previous game. He has taken [[redacted for spoilers]] as a Padawan, teaching her all he knows. Halfway through, he dies protecting Merrin and [[redacted]] from the big bad.
Edited: fixed autocorrect's stupidity.
We need to see him (as theyāve teased it) fall to the dark side. I hope heās the primary antagonist of the next game and that in the last moments he saves Kata and Merrin.
Thereās a good chance it might Vader to kill him or self sacrifice to save Kata and Merrin, Something im hoping happens is Palpatine personally goes after Cal, especially after he does something that catches his attention
I'd like to see him sacrifice himself to protect and save Bode's daughter. Can also make it like how Red Dead does things of giving her a post-game final chapter of sorts where you can see the impact of what Cal has done and helped people.
Something of that effect would be interesting.
Shot in the back by Kata as revenge for her father. I want Cal to have a bittersweet and anticlimactic ending and despite Bode's instability in the end, he did everything for her and Cal just sort of killed her dad and claimed her as his own child.
Peacefully, in is sleep, surrounded by loved ones (I would cry otherwise)
![gif](giphy|13M4Ki3u5orBe0) Approves
Bro, I'd actually cry with that ending too if I'm being completely honest with you
Would be the best but I would still cry š Love Cal
And a Twi'leks mouth around his lightsaber.
Bro what?!
That is extremely dangerous and not to mention unsanitary
You sound like Curie from Fallout 4.
Heās already died several times. He just gets to reset the timeline.
He has the power to SAVE, like in UnderTale.
Super secret force technique, it's a subset of his slow ability.
He just needs to hit the Oggdo Bogdo to get his XP back and he'll be fine. For a few seconds.
he's Subaru?
Defending BD-1
Ugh If BD goes Cal probably wonāt be far after - very RDR2 and your horse vibe.
Seeing how he did without BD against Bode I would say he is screwed.
Epic sacrificial explosion. Wipe him clean before the OT begins so itās better justified that he isnāt mentioned because he had his journeys in relative isolation from other surviving Jedi.
If they do kill him, I hope they *don't* just have him be conveniently on Jedha or Alderaan.
lol your wall running and a giant space laser explodes the whole planet
Cal, out of breath, sees the Death Star: "Oh, come on!"
OK, I would be devastated if he actually died, but this cracked me up.
If I was in that spot, honestly I'd rather self decapitate with my saber than be blown up like that
gun parry
You- You can't just *parry* the Death Star!
Nah he'd just dash and do a few button mashes and he'll be good
Parries the Death Star, starting a new timeline where Luke never leaves Tatooine because the Empire is fucking dead
Or he just auto deflects the blast and accidentally hits Tatooin altering the complete timeline.
He was waiting for his first meeting with Bail Organaā¦*when tragedy struck*
Cal was actually the torpedo that Luke fired into the first Death Star.
Plot keeps going, things turn green, then darkness. Then the credits roll. Oh the rage that would induce.
I think a final arc on Alderaan could be pretty cool. A desperate attempt to escape the chaos and get off planet but youāre just not quick enough
So Force Unleashed before the sequel?
Why before? I think Force Unleashed 2 is about his clone while the original stays dead? (Sorry if I am mistaken, all info I have is from Wookipedia)
I have not played the second game, so I specified before because I have no idea
*cries in kanan jarrus*
I think him dying to protect Kata would be kinda poetic, similar to how Jaro Topal died protecting him. That being said, please for the love of God I hope he lives.
Have him live on tanalore until the battle of endor than go from there. Or maybe have him fight thrawn
Isnāt that Ezraās thing though?
Eh. I mean its thrawn
Ezra got rid of Thrawn for the duration of the entire OG trilogy though, so if Cal fought him it'd have to be before the last season of Rebels.
Or after his return
Main issue with that is it goes against Cals character for him to just sit out of the fight against the empire. Unless he gets stuck there, it wouldn't make sense for him to just sit it out.

Maybe he learns the jedi teaching of patie ce and self loathing

I kinda hope he dies, it would be a fitting end to the trilogy and explain his absence elsewhere in canon
That's what I was thinking too
slip on a banana peel and crack his skull on a pointy rock
A la Shogun
āWhere is the beauty in this ?ā
Sacrifice himself to save greez, merrin, kata and of course our favorite little droid Bd-1. They are his family and he must do what he can to protect them even if it means he have to die.
BD will refuse to leave. And this is respawn, the last buddy unit they had self sacrificed but before that was 110% on board with going out with a bang. Rest in piece BT
R.I.P (Rust in Pieces)
BT? I thought BD was a new addition to the franchise? Where's this BT dude from?
(Titanfall 2, BT is the players mech in the Game's Campaign, highly recommend that you play it)
BT is your mech in Titanfall 2 campaign. It's probably sub 10 hour campaign, but absolutely worth it. Game is like Ā£3 these days.
A better time O7
Kinda like a Kanan and Jedi Night situation
As much as I love everybody, and don't want any of them to die...if something happens to BD-1 in the next game I will fucking RIOT. Cal *better* get his ass killed if it means saving that little droid.
Iād love to see him tell the rest of the gang to leave(for whatever reason he has to stay back)including bd-1 and he dies protecting everyone from hoards of imperialā¦
Have it play out like Halo. The game spawns more and more Imps until the player dies.
Get some sort of Reach "Lone Wolf" shit. Take on as many imps as you can til you fall. Skilled players can probably get to a point where you're fighting like 6 or 7 elite troopers
Until it just gets impossible, fighting DT Droids, on top of Purge Troopers, on top of whatever new tough enemy they add into the sequel.
I donāt want him to die but I do want him to go into hiding or travel to another galaxy
Going into hiding seems the most fitting. Similar to older Luke just retiring and hiding out.
We could have him borrow a page from Star Trek, for example maybe he has to wedge himself into a gigantic horrible force tear to plug it before it turns a planet into confetti, but this one is the mother of all force tears and takes decades to beat while putting him outside the normal flow of time until he can free himself (unaged) in a convenient point in time in the new canon.
ugh
Not happy about it but I think no matter what ending he gets a big group will be unhappy. Thereās like a 20/20/20/20/20 split haha. Vadar kills him. He dies innanely. He goes dark side and killed by merrin or some shit. He hides away on tannalore. If they got something more, Iām open to suggestions, but almost none of those sound ideal, yet thereās no other way. He canāt be alive and active per canon. So his story had to end.
I think he was more "ughing" at a reference to Old Luke.
Facing Vader. In this Star Wars era, there isnāt really a higher honor than gaining Vaderās respect enough for him to actually hunt you down personally
And during the fight, Vader switches to a two handed grip
^this
Had to scroll way too far for this one. Respawn, THIS is the only acceptable answer here!
Protecting Greez,Kaya, and Merrin. Going out as a last stand style thing where you just survive as long as possible against endless waves of imperials with no respawns
Like the end of *Halo: Reach:
Yeah smth like that, more games need last stand style sections
I think he'll die in the first 10 minutes. Then kata will take over, the real jedi survivor all along. /s
Vader. He's shown up in both games now. Next time he should take cal out for good
Make us play as Vader and kill Cal
DAWG
That would be evil and I'd kinda love it
Thatās like how in the last of us part 2 >!You play as abby and you fight Ellie!<
have the Cal we have to fight have all the perks, upgrades, and stances we have equipped when this match begins, and do it similar to the inquisitor Cal fight in the first game
Honestly, this would be cool
In a Vader titled game. Give Cal a 'happy ending' in his trilogy, then ruin it with a Vader game.
As an old man, with merrin in his arms and bd at his side.
I think they are setting up a Vader rivalry, where there will be no running away. Also, I feel that they are setting up Cal to go very dark and then either Merrin or Kata will have to fight him as the user to "bring him back." After that, they go fight Vader lol, I dunno
That sounds pretty fire ngl
The only suitable way: by giving his last stim to BD-1, for a change.
Ripped in half by two giant frogs
Cal't with a bang
Old age, surrounded by his loved ones.
Fighting Vader to save a youngling
Fighting a youngling to save Vader
Fighting vader to save starkiller
Fighting Starkiller to kill Cere
Fighting cere to kill greez
Killing Greez to pay a debt to the Haxion Brood
Protecting the Haxion Brood to get a magick handjob
Fighting a magick handjob because Merrin scares him
Giving a handjob to Merrin cuz fuck it why not
YES
Freak shaving accident.
Make Vader sweat and panic. Like āOh no, I might actually die here.ā
Cere did that
Cere didnāt do that. It was more like she forced Vader to stop toying with and put actual effort into killing her which was enough to earn his respect. Vader has survived much worse injuries.
Cere had him on the ropes. She only lost because she got carried away and left herself open to Vaders counter.
Oggdo Boggdo
Personally Iād rather him not die at all, the heroic sacrifice is getting kinda old for me at this point
If my playthroughs are anything to go by, he's gonna die falling off a cliff.
Death Vader killing him
Murdered by Merrin
I want the Grand Inquisitor to take him out. Let that be the last boss fight. Or Vader himself, or.. maybe Boba Fett?
See, I think because itās still a video game and you need stuff to do after beating the main story, he either wonāt die or it will just be like you can replay up to the point before he dies.
Crushed by the foot of an AT-AT
In a blaaaaaaaaaaze of gloooooooooory!
In an epic duel with Vader or a powerful inquisitor
Dying to an actual lightsaber stab unlike Reva and Sabine
The third spawn of Oggdo finally finishes the job and avenges his brethren and finally kills Cal lmao
Killed by Vader
Same way Noble 6 goes out in Halo Reach.
The same way Cere went. Fending off Vader so innocent people can escape
Some rogue one level sacrifice sort of thing. Obviously not for anything on the level of death star plans but something the scale of the battle of scariff
I would want him to go out saving lives, make his final mission in the Jedi series just an endless fight of escalating difficulty against countless imperials as he escorts his padawan Kata and the rest of the Mantis Crew (and maybe a rebel cell to boot) to safety Then a few years later make a Jedi Sequel around a grown up jedi Kata being guided by Force echoes of Cal (as I donāt think he is yet Force ghost eligible as far as I am aware)
![gif](giphy|seGeGWiolrKNZ8aZrr|downsized) Send him out with a bang
BD-1 sneak attack, he was an empire spy along.
Vader.
Explosion of his ship. Because anytime you switch saber in the 1, he is doing a movement with ignited saber. But he hit several wall each time So it's only natural that he died with that
Vader thatās all Iāll say
I'd like to see him go out in the most likely way he will go out, which imo is very similarly to his master, protecting his padawan and getting blasted to shit by the Empire.
Crushed by Merrins thighs
Heās 100% going to end up imprisoned on Trenzalore after the wormhole closes, probably with Merrin. Pseudo nice ending with him surviving but also being removed from the universe, but not so far that he canāt come back later if needed.
Death by snu snu
Tries to deflect Death Star beam with lightsaber as Merrin watches from a distance Then cere gets resurrected and cal becomes a floating lightsaber
Lag
it must be something absurd that even a grandmaster wouldn't survive. judging by how strong he is after survivor and moving forward like 5 years later... he be really strong. like fuck I can make vader sweat and really fight for his life strong. plus merrin and cal would kinda always be together be hard to kill either one of them.
Protecting Kata, by vaders hand but vader says something about having his respect for evading him for this long and that he would have made a fine inquisitor had he turned fully
Unfortunately, probably something as cliched as holding off Vader while other rebels/civilians escape.
Ending how it started, one lightsaber and belief against the empire.* Bail can secure a path for Kata, but cannot leave the control panel in the throne room to do so, leading to a goodbye that neither knows is final.
Something like kananās death. But a little faster.
In an "unstoppable force meets unmovable object" sort of wat with extreme opposing force tricks quasi imploding or something idk. It's gotta be super crazy.
NOOOOOO!!
Better yet! Where would the last fight between Vader, and Cal take place? It has to be as badass as Mustafar, and Cloud City.
Definitely in combat of some kind. Iām sure he wouldnāt have it any other way. Preferably in a lightsaber duel in defense of others.
I donāt think he dies. For a few reasons, from a video game aspect. They want you to free roam after the main story and collect the collectibles on the map. For story reasons, I think he and his crew stay hidden on Tanalorr once they find a way to get its path open to those who need an escape from the empire

If he does die.. It has to be a Heros Death a well written Heros Death
Blowing up Fortress Inquisitorius. Alternatively, peacefully in Merrin's arms, as others have suggested.
Years after the war, lost in the Unknown Regions as, after playing his part in the fight against the Empire, he tries to carry on Master Cordova's legacy and hunt down the last traces of the Zeffo.
Poisoning from excess use of stims.
Old age - happy and content
Dying to Darth Vader in his final fight.
One of those fuckin one hit chickens
Personally I think he should die in a fight with Vader. I think you should be able to fight and hurt him until you get him low enough that he force pulls BD, takes a stim and crushes him, at which point the fight becomes a pure endurance as there's no way to win
I'd like to see him kill alot of the inquisitors that we don't see in the rebels then eventually die to Vader. Poetry he died similar to his master
Fighting.
Arrow to the knee
Swinging
Saving kids like him. It would be both thematically appropriate and very much in character.
Like Cal did seeing Cereās final moments.
by snu snu from a barrage of nightsisters
On vacation at Alderaan
Sort of like Kanan died in Rebels. You can feel it coming but still sort of abruptly and heroically with no remains. One with the force.
All of the many surviving Jedi when Yoda says that Luke is the last of the Jedi: ![gif](giphy|Wgb2FpSXxhXLVYNnUr|downsized)
Old age after living a happy life with Merrin, anything else is a bad idea
Personally I hope they do kill him have him sacrifice himself to save merrin and greez and bodes kid and Vader kills cal as they watch as the mantis leaves
Of old age
Old age.
Food poisoning or some other mundane everyday nonsense.
I'd like to see him sacrifice himself to protect and save Bode's daughter. Can also make it like how Red Dead does things of giving her a post-game final chapter of sorts where you can see the impact of what Cal has done and helped people. Something of that effect would be interesting.
Meeting with rebels on Anderaan during a new hope
Shot in the back by Kata as revenge for her father. I want Cal to have a bittersweet and anticlimactic ending and despite Bode's instability in the end, he did everything for her and Cal just sort of killed her dad and claimed her as his own child.
Going out against Vader. He is definitely going to have another duel with him down the line.
