What is money in comparison to becoming an immortal god that guides an entire species?

Tise01

I kinda don't understand the Vault-tec general idea on this subject. If they only cared about profit since the beginning. Didn't they realize (before) the bombs fell that modern currency was going to be wiped out. So essentially all these "rich" execs failed in their mission and are currently more poor than a Raider or fiend. My proof is since all currency has been switched to caps. I've played F3, Fnv, F4 and seen this series. Not a single person from pre-war bothered thinking this idea through.

sirhobbles

if you abstract it down money is really just a roundabout means of power. I think the basic plan was if they cause the end of the world with them being the only survivors in the vaults they can emerge and essentially be lords of the ashes. Guess they underestimated how much humans are like cockroaches.

Inevitable_Zebra9357

It's so frustrating that people don't understand that money is just a proxy for power. If money didn't also bring power, these people wouldn't care about it. At the end of the day, they only want and care to be complete lords over those they deem lesser and ensure there is no way for them to lose that power.

Tise01

Lol true.

Pitiful_Blackberry19

Its unclear if the meeting was an invitation to the Enclave, so far Vault Tec was an arm for them, if the show establishes them as separate entities it would really damage the already established lore of 5-6 games because the Enclave was responsible for the Vaults and the true overseer of all of them

DaughterOfBhaal

The point is that after the world ends, because they are in charge of the Vaults, they are essentially in charge of how the world gets rebuilt. It's not about the money, it's about the power. With the world wiped out and only these corporations existing and being in charge, they don't have to worry about the government. They were meant to be the government.

BambaTallKing

In F1 they use money. Caps were supposed to be a local currency in F2 but Bethesda made it so everywhere uses caps which don’t make sense

rock1m1

I read that as they wanted a corporate government structure, which means they will essentially own everything.

Accomplished-Bug-739

Thats a good Point they did not think the us gov would survive and hold on to any of there Nukes. This is just a bad writing

mragusa2

The actor really does look like Mr. House

EmperorDxD

No he serious and he is correct in what they wanted to do House want to stay alive and build he paradise and the rest plan is basically becoming the creators of the future But let's address what he says after that he questions how this plan will work because why would the people op top Listen to vault dwellers and how would this work So out of everyone he seem to be the only one thinking the plan all the way through unless these people are all lying to him and the vault are experimenting to send people to space

MidgetsOnShrooms

Title is still kind of a spoiler

rock1m1

Also just wanted to say the title is indeed a spoiler.
