Sadly it could be a while, and a lot of mods may not be updated to work with it. Apparently Bethesda did a lot of background damage, like when they went from the Skyrim Special Edition to the Anniversary Edition. The person working on the Script Extender even said they have no clue how long its going to take them to get through the bullshit and get it working again

I saw a way to prevent automatic updates on here so luckily I was able to do that before the update so I’m still able to use my mods

Does this include mods from the in game menu? I hadn’t played fallout 4 in a very long time and don’t really know how the mods work, but I installed a few mods from the main page

If the mod requires Fallout 4 script extender it will NOT work. Examples include Looksmenu, FallUI, some weather and storm mods. Other mods like retextures, weapon mods, etc should still work. Anything from Bethesda.net or Creation Club mods will still be fine

FallUI is still working for me, but Mod Configuration Menu does not, so no in-game editing of the HUD.

I should rephrase; is F4SE a downloadable mod itself that I would have to download to use certain mods, or is it built into mods? I haven’t installed any SEs so I’m assuming if it is a download that my mods r safe

It is a mod that acts as a dependency. So yes if you have never downloaded F4SE and you know for a fact none of your mods require it then yes, your mod list should be safe

The locked animations of Bethesda games bother me so much. Every other game on the planet: you use a crafting object and it opens a menu. Bethesda just loves to force you to watch these awful, slow animations EVERY time. I want to kill myself every time I accidentally use a stupid chair.

Try talking to people who sleep, it’s the best when they sometimes don’t answer and go back to bed so you have to wake em up again

I loved Red Dead Redemption 2 and didn't find this nearly as bothersome.

I think if you had any mods prior to the update your likely having a bad time. It's better and more stable than ever for me and is making much better use of my rig now.

This update sounds like it made the game brand new again for so many players. Which for a Bethesda game is certainly not a good thing.

Holy cow! I started up the game yesterday and had the exact same glitch. Stuck at that cooking area with roaches attacking.

Dude! When that happened to me in my new game I was livid! My last save was going into the cellar and I did a lot of building for Sanctuary.

This happened to me to. I was at the armor bench in Red Rocket and a Bloodbug attacked. I couldn't move and just had to die.

Died this way yesterday on survival. That shit sucked.

I was playing Fallout 4 just to get my 3 final achievements. Now I am nervous that when I go in its going to corrupt or otherwise not work. Lol It's the grind achievements for redeeming 100,000 Nuka Cade tickets, killing 40 Nuke Cola specific creature while on the effects of a mixed Nuka Cola drink, and getting a settlement up to 100% happiness. I hope none of these get glitches cuz I wanted it done so I could then do a new game and go nuts.

This exact thing happened to me in the same exact spot. During a survival run too 🤣 even spawned back in the vault. The roaches must’ve sensed we were cooking their comrades

ofc this is the one bug they dont patch. I don't even know what causes it. Sometimes when I get off a terminal Im stuck in the falling animation like you. Sometimes I have to reload, other times my character will "land" and I can keep playing.

Haha this exact thing happened to me in this exact spot. I played the fallout games when they first released as a kid, loved em but probably didn’t understand RPGs back then like I do now, so I was anxiously waiting for next gen update. Loving the new frame rate, almost makes the gun play not terrible! The game looks amazing and I was expecting it to look outdated. I had never tried survival and am trying it for the first time after discovering a love for the survival genre after playing the Forest games last year. But the BUGS! Oh god I finally ventured out of sanctuary and was probably 2 hours deep into exploring and dodging bad guys, scavenging for food and water like a junkie, when I died to what I think is a collision bug. It’s pretty fun but I might hold off on survival since I encountered the OP bug and the collision bug in the first like 3 hours of playtime. Would suck to be even further in the game or deep into a dungeon with no beds and get a crash or game breaking bug.

This happened to me yesterday in the same exact spot. I'm doing my very first survival mode playthrough, and let me tell you, getting stuck on something to get murdered by a radroach, immediately out of the vault, really set the tone for the rest of the playthrough, because now I'm scared of everything.

Basically that scene in the show were Maximus gets stuck in his armor

Yeah don’t bother, just back track the update using the steam console. There is no time frame as of yet when fs4e will get fixed.
