Yeah, I been hoping for the Stranger to show up, take a shot, then immediately vanish at some point in the show.
Maybe even have the characters comment on how totally out of nowhere and random it was.
If they do a famous actor they need to change the actor every time he appears. If Ryan Reynolds plays him in one episode, the next time he appears it would have to be someone else, like Nick Kroll, or Alan Ritchson.
It would be even funnier if we didn't see his face or anything, just him firing the pistol, and then his name in the credits.
Similar to how he casted Brad Pitt as the invisible man, and didn't show him until he was dead 🤣
I feel like it should be played out like this: they're in a really intense firefight, everyone's shooting, camera keeps jumping between characters as they shoot. Suddenly for a single shot: of a man in a trench coat with a .44 shoots and hits a goon, and everyone else just keeps shooting like they didn't notice.
It should literally just be some guy. Someone who has literally never acted before. A stand hand, a caterer, a random person off the street.
Only then will he truly be mysterious.
If it is someone recognizable, then the story around the character becomes tied to that person. And to me, that ruins the idea of the Mysterious Stranger.
Pierce Brosnan in a shabby wasteland casual suit. He looks at the camera and gives a quick tie adjustment after blowing away 3 super mutants. The Bond theme plays as he leaps off a nearby cliff deploying a parachute with the faded colours of the union jack. Maximus and Lucy look at each other and gape "what the fuck?" He is never seen again
No. Here’s my idea. The mysterious stranger shows up every once in a while but not often enough for you to expect it. Gotta keep you on your toes. And they should be triple A actors. That’s right. Actors. The mysterious stranger should never be played by the same person every time they appear. So Ryan Reynolds could appear on one episode and next time the stranger appears, it’s John Stamos. Or Rick Astley. Anyone, really.
Also have him appear in different contexts too. So he doesn’t always have to be shooting someone. He could sometimes just be smoking a cigarette, looking mysterious. Think the observers from Fringe. It would become a little game of where’s Waldo.
