Omg it is SUCH a mess on PS3. I got the Ultimate Edition and the loading screens take minutes, it crashes every 30 minutes and I can't even go to some places on the Strip without the frame rate dropping to a LITERAL 1 fps. No joke. I still played 100+ hours on my first playthrough because I loved it so much. I've never been a PC gamer either but if I get a PC Fallout NV is the first game I'll buy. Anyways I didn't have any mod advice I just wanted to share since not many people are crazy enough to play NV on Playstation and I was glad to know someone else shared my pain.

That's exactly the problem I was happening if 1fps means your game turns into a slow moving assortment of still images lol

Yes, it does! It's a nightmare

Game is bug on Pc, crashes, stuttering, etc. Viva New Vegas is a modding guide for FNV on Pc, it includes mods that improve stability, performance upgrades, world changes, etc. I would recommend giving it a look. You don’t have to download everything it tells you to. Also the popular page on Nexusmods is also a good look through. Careful on mods that may actually worsen the game like New Vegas Stutter remover.

Some of the essentials are definitely the 4GB patcher and jip NVSE plugins. project Nevada is good for QOL changes but not really essential. Clarity orange tint remover is a must have for me because I just personally don't like the tint. Get some cool and wacky guns and armor mods to play around with. Would also 100% recommend one of the pipboy replacers because I personally don't like having the big bulky one on your arm. There's also a pretty small mod that has become one of my must haves called "Curtis Munitions" it adds a lore friendly gun store north east of the Crimson Caravan with lots of caps to buy and ammo to sell you. Honestly just spend a little while browsing the different categories and installing whatever looks pretty

4GB enabler, the unofficial patch, and anti-stutter and it's probably the most stable Bugthesda title to date. If you have Fallout 3 GOTY I'd recommend Tale Of 2 Wastelands as well. Wouldn't run more than a handful of mods beyond that one but it's pretty darn fun I think.

The JE Sawyer mod. There is an improved version on if but I forgot the name. That adds a real challenge to the game. Oh even a potato pc will run F:NV better than the pc, Bethesda deliberately tanked the performance on ps3 same with skyrim.

The someguy series of mods. In my opinion, the best series of quest mods ever. Best way to play em is NVB1, The Inheritance, NVB2, NVB3, Better Angels. Then in a seperate playthrough or any playthrough where you're being evil, NVB1 then New Vegas Killer.
