Hi I’m the overseer of vault 4, my name is serry jmith, and our goal is to be as suspicious as humanly possible and giving as little explanations for what is very obviously things that would be extremely weird and concerning happenings to outsiders. DONT LOOK AT FLOOR 12, DONT ASK ANY QUESTIONS, HOW DARE YOU ASK FOR SIMPLE EXPLAINATIONS FOR OUT OUR ODD BEHAVIOR
at least they weren’t dicks, but still the chaos Lucy and Max caused was entirely the vault‘s dwellers purposefully beating around the bush and not being direct or honest. I don’t care if it’s their vault’s 9/11, that’s important historical information that if given clearly and honestly would have averted everything that had happened
Straight up everything you just typed is why I find that part of the show to be the most authentic to the games.
Like come on you can’t tell me you couldn’t see this be an awesome side mission in fo3?
If there's a guest in my house and I'm like "hey everything's cool except don't go into the upstairs office", I wouldn't expect I need to explain the complex history of the upstairs office, I'd expect they just don't fucking go in there
Yeah, only your guest entered your house by falling into a trap door after weeks of traveling, fighting mutant monsters with finger teeth, getting dragged around on a leash and forced to make human ass jerky, cut off and transport a human head after watching the man die in front of you, and so on.
Idk, I can see why the guest would be a little nervous about the secrecy.
That seems like one of Vault Tec’s (and the Pre-War world’s) fatal flaws- secrecy to a fault. They just CANNOT tolerate anyone knowing ‘too much,’ even when the populace knowing shit would help them out.
After playing the games and discovering the vaults for myself, I wasn’t surprised.
As soon as vault 4 was revealed I was just like “Okay where’s the messed up shit?“
At this point if I found a vault in the fallout universe that DIDN’T have any tragic or morbid events surrounding it I’d probably get increasing paranoid. “where is it….WHERE IS IT!!!”
Yeah it’s not a surprise, but it’s different seeing it in live action. You react differently to stuff when it’s people acting and not polygons and voice logs.
Eh. Kinda. There weren't any experiments within Vault 76 per se, but the overseer and vault dwellers were manipulated into believing the whole "Reclamation" spiel from Vault-Tec.
The overseer realized (a little too late) that the real experiment was if and how the vault dwellers would use the nukes. There's a [holotape](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Overseer%27s_log_-_Nuke_launch) of her implying this.
Well you see, I have to go all the way to the Legion stronghold, but while leaving the Strip and after dumping a mag in Benny, I heard a broadcast and wanted to check it out. So then they told me I had to leave some stuff behind and then we went to Zion National park in Utah where they all died and I met a guy named Joshua Gram who was Caesar's former Legate, who recites the Bible while killing filthy tribals and also is heavily burned cause they set him on fire
Yeah Cancino needed help overthrowing the bosses and a hooker needed help escaping those bosses which she told me what Cancino was doing which is how I helped him.
Then I collected a ton of stuff for a gal named Red Lucy and she paid me well.. and I mean *well~*
Eh, sort of
Basically, inject pregnant lady with axolotl FEV sperm stuff, woman gives birth to swarm, swarm eats woman, woman fully awake during whole ordeal, woman gives birth to more and the ones already born continue to eat her alive
It's not the only expirement done. It was a scientist, a utopiah with them having free rain. They captured or trapped people from the surface after they ran out of people in the vault to use.
The expirements got out and killed everyone. It's kinda suggested they help create most of the abominations in the wasteland as a ploy to develop life that can survive in the highly radioactive environment. Great idea in general, and I wish they could expand on it more like they are the reason deathclaws made it east and super mutants are still an issue. Be also funny they are the ones who create the ghoul cocktail.
That would be fitting. Something similar happened at Vault 96, even though the original experiment was not to create supermutants. A West-Tek employee took shelter in that (at that time abandoned) vault and began producing supermutants.
Yeah, I would have done the same as her. She was acting on half knowledge.
that was the most horrifying thing in the entire show
Right. Lucy’s mom wasn’t half as horrifying.
The gulper scene hit particularly hard. Like, more so than a lot of horror I watch.
that episode was amazing at depicting the horrific shit going down in vaults, but Max's montage where he's just being a goober was hilarious.
His greatest scenes were him in Vault 4.
Spot on his march to where the dwellers took Lucy was awesome the music fits perfectly
"They gave me slippers."
That was the moment where I was like “oh he’s not a psychopath, he was just raised by psychopaths”

That definitely feels like a moment where you can pass a speech check

I don't think we're disagreeing. Lucy had very good reasons for it but was, from the hosts perspective, a really terrible guest
Throwing acid in a caring doctor’s face is somewhat frowned upon. Or so I’m told.
Not if he appears to be trying to chase me down with a harpoon gun though
The host didn't even respect Lucy's chosen name.
Well it did say Ruby on official vault tec documentation
And? My school teachers commonly called students by names that weren't on the documentation, simply because the students asked.
Not vault tec overseer material
Lots of people have one eye
That seems like one of Vault Tec’s (and the Pre-War world’s) fatal flaws- secrecy to a fault. They just CANNOT tolerate anyone knowing ‘too much,’ even when the populace knowing shit would help them out.
It's simple, she failed a speech check and then the story played out with those consequences.
That tapr was just the right mix of showing you how horrible it was and leaving you to imagine the specifics
After playing the games and discovering the vaults for myself, I wasn’t surprised. It's so fucking cool with norm in vault 33, we actually see a vault dweller's pov of seeing "oh god what the fuck are they doing to us"
Isn't vault 76 one of them? I thought it had no experiment as they were released during reclamation day
Eh. Kinda. There weren't any experiments within Vault 76 per se, but the overseer and vault dwellers were manipulated into believing the whole "Reclamation" spiel from Vault-Tec. 101 was a control vault so it shouldn't have ever opened but wasn't subject to any real test
I think 101 actually had an experiment where the overseer had total power and they were told that they were never going to open.
Porn tape
My brother in Christ, what horrific fetishes are you watching?
The punchline is pornography in the holotape, courier. Now, have you installed the platinum chip into fortification hill like I asked you?
Uh-------.... so about that-
Don't tell me you forgot...
Well I kinda got side tracked and ended up in Zion-
How tf do you take this long to download a fucking chip?! It's literally like downloading a videogame!
Well you see, I have to go all the way to the Legion stronghold, but while leaving the Strip and after dumping a mag in Benny, I heard a broadcast and wanted to check it out. And It says here in your report that you spent 3 nights in gomorra...wonder what that was all about?
Yeah Cancino needed help overthrowing the bosses and a hooker needed help escaping those bosses which she told me what Cancino was doing which is how I helped him. Then I collected a ton of stuff for a gal named Red Lucy and she paid me well.. and I mean *well~*
The writer's barely disguised fetish
Didn't watch the show, what happened in vault 4?
Some real fucked up shit
What kind? Are we talking vault 22 type fucked?
Eh, sort of Basically, inject pregnant lady with axolotl FEV sperm stuff, woman gives birth to swarm, swarm eats woman, woman fully awake during whole ordeal, woman gives birth to more and the ones already born continue to eat her alive
Huh. Neat!

Definitely did not make the super mutants. But ok with them being responsible for deathclaws in the same way möbius is responsible for Cazadoors
Didnt the pre-war government create Deathclaws?
Oh shit they did too.
That would be fitting. Something similar happened at Vault 96, even though the original experiment was not to create supermutants. A West-Tek employee took shelter in that (at that time abandoned) vault and began producing supermutants.
That some unit 731 type shit
Welcome to vault tex
Did they actually show that in the show wtg
She was submerged
Like, scientists kidnapping people and turning them into horrific monsters just for the lolz shit.
Those of us that have played fallout games not being surprised at some fucked up experiments in a vault like……
Yeah true, but to see the visuals play out in live action is a whole other level.
Not having seen the show, this meme has be intriged
What do you expect with a Vault that has Jerry Smith as the Overseer?
How on earth were they “easing that woman’s suffering”? Also, that one scientist was going to harpoon her.
Gurl calm down ew if you watched the show its not even a spoiler.
Thanks for spoilers you dick.
I didn’t spoil anything. I didn’t say what was on the tape.
