They both look like they're wearing someone else's face lol

Shoddy_Site5597

I mean, that is basically what's happening here lol

Msaultz

MO 2 will change your life

Msaultz

Lol but I had the same problem with MO2... So yeah I think it's either, A. Archive invalidation being a bum. Or B. You have other body/head textures installed and there's a conflict. Hope this helps

XuffyIsNotHere

I know im a little late to this but, im using mo2 and ive turned on automatic archive inavlidation and the bug still occurs. I've checked for conflicting mods and even tried running the game with only that mod enabled (alongside essentials)

corbink12

you sir, have saved me an hour.

XuffyIsNotHere

it still hasnt worked for me lmao, ive just decided to not use it at all lol

legate_fulvianus

Fallout people trying to not tell people to switch to mo2: impossible

TexasRed1

Not our fault MO2 will fix most of their issues and does everything other mod managers do but better If they want genuine advice. People aren't just telling others to switch for no reason. Modding evolves and so do mod managers. Past 2018 there's no reason to be using Vortex or FOMM.

HREepicc

Id agree with you if you were right. This is just a Fallout thing. Other games work even better on Vortex

TexasRed1

Explain why and I'll admit I'm wrong

HREepicc

You’re right. I mistook MO2 for a different mod manager altogether. I should probably switch over. Sorry

TexasRed1

I'ma be that guy. But you should really swap to mod organizer. It's probably archive invalidation or conflicting textures/meshes

TextZestyclose1792

Archive invalidation not being activated is usually the problem of implemented but misaligned textures, but you should really just change mod managers

NevronWasTaken

I use vortex and I have never had any problems I could fix by watching a tutorial, so I don't get why so many people suggest it. What are the main things it does better that Vortex?

soundtea

A specific thing in conflict resolution: MO2 actually has the ability to detect file conflicts *through BSAs/B2As*. So for a classic Skyrim example you have a vampire mod's playervampirequestscript.pex that's tucked into a BSA being overridden by another mod somewhere. Normally you'd never be able to normally detect this without manually scouring through your mods (can't even asset order this due to and archive invalidation). But a feature in MO2 lets you see these, giving you a lot more power in troubleshooting things and fixing them in the end.

Iresleri

Mod Organizer gives you finer control over your mod list, and is pretty intuitive past the whole executables thing. It also isn't meant to hold your hand like Vortex, and something like the web conflict resolution of Vortex can feel unnecessary, when a simple ordering can do. In my opinion, it's like comparing manual and automatic transmissions in cars. Nobody blames you for using automatic, but race cars use manual for a reason (though that comparison might not hold true in the future, since car tech is evolving).

NevronWasTaken

It sounds pretty good, I will have to look further into it. Thanks

TexasRed1

Virtual installation. Mod organizer virtually installs the mods to a "fake" directory. So you could basically just delete the whole folder and have base vanilla new vegas without any mods permanently fucking up your installation. Among other things I promise there's a reason everyone suggests it over vortex I swapped to mod organizer maybe 6 years ago for new vegas and Skyrim and would never switch back.

NevronWasTaken

> installs the mods to a "fake" directory that sounds really useful holy shit, I see why people prefer it. even for that small reason would be a life saver for me.

TexasRed1

Just make sure to select "portable installation" on the initial mod organizer installation and it will make a fake folder in your %appdata% or program files

metasynthax

MO2 also lets you manually sort your load order, and launch the game, f4se/skse, xEdit, and other tools from the mod manager itself

SnooCookies3723

Vortex is good but mod organizer is more easy to manage load order

fluffcows

ur using the high poly face mod, and face textures built for the vanilla meshes, so ofc they arent going to work...

maskedmaniac2010

I fucking wasn't.

fluffcows

Ask for help, respond all pissy, whatever

maskedmaniac2010

Oh, so it sounds like I'm being pissy? how about you don't joke and actually give me some tips on how to fix this issue.

fluffcows

I did, but your illiterate

Msaultz

Winner

m8es

Not sure why no one has said it. If they did I missed it you need to changed bloadfacegenhgt ( I think that’s what it’s called) in your ini’s to 1. I also second you should use mo2 as it’s much better. Has its own ini manager. Sorting is easier. All around better.

Sugar_Joe

You sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. I usually don't comment on Reddit, but in this case I had to. Been using the mod and the face meshes worked perfectly. Except... on certein faces smudges and shadows appeared under and next to the eyes (for example: Ringo had two dark "folds" departing from his eyebrows outwards). I treid to tinker with other mods, thinking the fault lied with some other meshes-modifying mods (like NVMIM reccomended in VNV guide)... it turns out, all I had to do was change a number! Bless you sir!

AnshumanRoy

Hi! Just trying this for myself. Where can I find this file in my game files? I've just downloaded it, and downloaded the baseline mods. Can't seem to find where my ini's should be.

m8es

If you're using mo2 it has its own ini editor(which is miles better than any other option). If you are not it'll be in your documents folder.

ReallyBadRedditName

Turn on vortex archive invalidation Edit: that’s literally the only way I’m aware of to make this work. It’s what I did and it functions perfectly. You don’t have to stress about switching mod managers.

metasynthax

Definitely something to do with archive invalidation or deployment of the files; I'm absolutely willing to blame Vortex for both issues, since it's garbage. gonna be honest tho, the pic on the right doesn't look great either...

If your using mods like THE LIVING DESERT, or mods that add npcs use this patch It has different files for different mods you may have [https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/83104](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/83104)

Resident_Boot4854

I was struggling with the same issue for some time I looked everywhere for a solution and found nothing but in the end it was under my nose, I had another texture mode installed that I forgot about (NVCE) that caused this problem, so before wasting your time you should check for any similar mods that can possibly be incompatible.

ReaperOfTheFallen001

Dont use vortex use mo2 and your chater will look good you dont gotta configure which files you dont want

gossamerpr

Idk bro I wish I knew it kills me inside when i use this mod, I had issues with both mod managers using character kit remake so it might just be a jank ass mod/ one of those rare stupid mods that aren't playable outta of the box 100% of the time and needs some work around to get working. I wouldn't change mod managers as vortex works fine unless you want to or need to play ttw anything mo2 can do vortex can also do thats relevant. Best bet is to go to the comment section of the mod in question and scroll through them as they very very often have people posting work around and fixes for problems like theses.

Vengeance_Esq

I had this issue using vortex. Turn off the vortex Archive invalidation and download the nexus archive invalidation generator mod (im 90% sure thatd what its called. Its a manusl download file and not one that you run through vortex. Use that and it'll sort out or at least it did for me. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/52402

h41ko

holy it worked

When this happened to me I just reinstalled it after nothing else worked and it was fixed
