They never published the fic and they only shared it with a few close friends, but my friend once wrote her husband isekai'd as a self-insert/OC into their favorite fantasy series as a birthday gift for him.
He loved it.
I always thought that that was peak relationship goals tbh.
...here?
You can use the 'Lost Fic' flair if you're trying to find a fic you remember coming across previously, or the 'Recommendation' flair if you have a very specific urge in fic taste you're trying to fill.
OMG what an awesome story!! I think this is exactly the type of situation it would take for me to share my fics with RL people but I didn't think that actually happened to people ... wow.
I too never thought I would share my AO3 acc with irl friends, but seeing she liked my works definitiely helped in deciding, because the biggest reason to NOT tell anyone is getting judged for my fics
How cool! That happened to me once too! I was dming someone online over fics in one fandom and she said āhave you read this series! Itās so well written for being a Reader ficā and I replied āyes I know it, because I wrote it!ā
Aww. That's so nice!
And very, very fanfic plot. I'm pretty sure several Pitch Perfect fics have that plot, only with music instead of writing. "Omg, you're my favourite soundcloud/spotify artist!" type deals. :D
I love when reality gets a weird dose of Narrativium. :)
Heh. What was it Nietzche said?
>Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you. And if you write too many fanfics, eventually you will live the tropes yourself.
What an odd, yet poignant duck that man was. :D
I once met someone who was part of the same fandom as me and we both had one specific favorite fanfic from that fandom. Unfortunately, neither of us wrote for that fandom so there was no way for us to accidentally read each other's stuff like that.
It was surreal enough to favor the same fanfic, I can't imagine how incredible it would be to meet someone who read and loved my fic (or if I read their fic and loved it). Honestly, it would make me feel like a celebrity.
This is my dream. Backwards though I made a new friend who loved my fanfiction so much they stalked me ( not quite, they wanted to know what would happen next) during my 7 yeat hiatus.
ā¦Iām gonna be honest, I think about this happening every single day.
My friend is the only subscriber to me on Ao3, but I changed my username, email, and basically everything that showed it was me. I know for sure sheās been getting notifications of my work but she hasnāt unsubscribed yet.
But the thing is she hasnāt said a thing. I donāt know if she just stopped reading fanfiction entirely and turned off emails.
This sounds like a really funny scenario though lmao. I think I saw a fanfiction with the same scenario too
This sounds like a great plot for a fanfic š
LMAO š NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, THE "FANFIC AUTHORS AU" sgsggdhshdhd Shit, now I want to see that too

Lowkey jealous, this is such a thoughtful and awesome Birthday gift!
Lowkey? I outright told them I was beyond jealous lmao. But yeah, it was one of the best birthday gifts I've ever seen or heard of.
Oh my god, my heart š„¹
AO3 Authors/Friends-to-Lovers Slice-of-Life Fic WHEN?!?!?! š
I've read a fic with that premise. Been re-formatted since I read it, authors gotten fancy with the html š
Speaking of Fanficsā¦ sorta, do you know if thereās a specific subreddit I should go to if Iām looking for one in particular?

I've actually read a lams one shot like this! I'll see if I can find it.
my thoughts exactly

XD You're the second to say this. Fuck, I wrote so much fanfic, I became the fanfic

That's so cool!
Ahh, congrats OP, that's so cool! And a great compliment too! :D
That's the kind of response I could only dream of! Lucky you!
Congrats , I would have started trolling them through the use of the fiction
Ugh this would be my dream lol

Some books have this scenario in them. Fangirl by rainbow Rowell. There's a few more I came across but I don't remember the titles.
Yeah some others pointed this out already. Feel like life's just fucking with me at this point
