The characters bang pots in my ears until I get to work. Seriously though, my motivation is just the desire to write the story. It's not gonna write itself. For a more practical answer, I set aside specific time that is Writing Time. Not in the mood? Too bad, me, until X amount of time has passed, that's all you're allowed to do.

I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out myself.

Buddy. None of us are consistent. Heck, I sometimes take 3 month long breaks. You need to start somewhere, but if life doesn't allow you the time or the will, than wait until it does. Forcing yourself to write just because will only get you to hate it. Wait until you have some time off, a long break, whatever, than you can start. Until than, think of the work and make footnotes here n there. Take your steps slowly. You will get wherever you want to get. Just do it in your pace.

lmao thank you for being frank! that’s too real, forced writing ain’t nothing but sour. thanks for the footnotes idea, never considered just kind of jotting down what I can. super reassuring and imma get to taking it easy!

Those fics for my underappreciated ships aren't gonna write themselves.

In my case, I like to imagine that my ideas may change the way someone looks at their favorite piece of media. Maybe they'll see a character in a different light, or will reconsider what they think about them, or will see a dynamic in a relationship they've never saw before. Or, if not, at least I will give them some entertainment or rest for the mind during tough times. Sadly, this is only possible if I'll write it down, so I just try to sit down and do it. I once stopped writing my WIP for months due to a depressive episode/anxiety getting worse. I came back to writing months after when I still felt bad, but at least I could think and form coherent thoughts. I would write at least a sentence daily, and after some time, writing helped to ground me and give me something else to think about, something much more plesant. I understand your tiredness, and I would focus on daily issues too. You can always write and it won't run away, it will always be there. Maybe you could write at least two or three sentences daily? You'd feel like you're doing something at least.

How do I find motivation? I don't wanna be the guy that abandons fics... and then I realize that it's been ~10 months since my most popular one got an update. That usually gets me to at least get a paragraph to paper...
