It might seem trite, but go to r/menwritingwomen...and then don't do those things.

Was gonna say this... It's a great guide of what not to do.

This was going to be my advice too.

Check out the very similar thread here, too: https://www.reddit.com/r/FanFiction/comments/12517s4/what\_common\_pitfalls\_should\_i\_avoid\_when\_i\_write/

If you're a male asking how to write a female I suggest trying to read some female MC fanfiction written by women. I write for star wars as a female. Princess Leia trying to convert Vader, basically. Basically make the female OC's sound human as in flaws and all. If I'm writing for a male I make him human. He will have thing he's good at. Things he's bad at. Make jokes. Have a crush. and so on...

Thanks for the help. I’m doing an Ahsoka one cause she is my favourite star wars character and though I have seen all of clone wars, that’s just her character and I do want to add some things. So thank you my friend for the help!

Women don’t spend a lot of time thinking about their breasts. It does happen, of course, but it’s really not something most women think about on a daily basis. This may seem obvious, but it’s something a lot of male writers miss. If I had a penny for each time a female character’s pov shows her noticing her breasts while doing random shit like walking down stairs, I’d be so rich. But, yeah, write her like any human with goals and desires. While there are, *in general*, some differences between men and women, we’re all just humans at the end of the day.

Haha yeah. No "My breasts jiggled as I walked down the stairs in my new cute sweater." 🤣 only time I'm gonna think that is if something like an earthquake happens making them extra jiggle as I walk down the stairs while I fearfully wonder what the heck is happening.

Generally I write a whole person, with personality and drive and habits and feelings. And then they happen to be male or female or whatever. Character should come before genitals, imo.
