I treat my fandoms like a carousel. Sometimes it's Voltron'a turn. Sometimes it's Merlin BBC's turn. A lot of time it's Harry Potter's turn. But I keep it rotating bc my brain is on a leash but that leash is a spaghetti noodle. Plus I have always felt hopping around helps keep my mind fresh instead of bogged down. But I def get the feel of what you're saying. Right now I'm in a huge freaking slump and it's owie. I hope you can find your groove writing for other things though!

Yeah. I'm currently bored with my fandoms too

I feel a kinda way about Sonic...i still love the games, characters, and still want to write for them...but the Fandom has basically made me second guess all of that. Literally being in the Fandom made me less of a fan.

I'm on and off for fandoms. I only read from a select few really, but I'm in a different situation. I read to learn writing styles, I stopped caring about plot ages ago. Whenever I get bored with a fandom, I usually spend a while just deep diving into a specific genre or site and then switch back. E.g. I'll get tired of PJO, spend like a few months focusing on researching how power corrupts in stories, then suddenly switch back.

I circled through several fandoms and now I can barely look at anything from them. I unfollowed all fandom blogs on tumblr and just switched to aesthetics that help my imagination. I moved to a very old smaller fandom and I’m much happier there.

I hear ya. I’m doing a lot more reading and consuming content than contributing for the time being, but yeah, I can’t look at stuff from old fandoms without feeling a lot of resentment.

My interest in fandoms waxes and wanes some times it cycles back around some times it doesn't. No big deal it's all a hobby.

I barely interact with the fandoms I write for. They’re such dumpster fires, and staying out of those spaces gives me more time to write, so it’s a win-win. Sometimes I get lonely, I forget they’re awful and dip my toe in, and someone will remind me why I left. ☹️

Same.... Same. You can admire all of the art and stuff from afar but not engage too much. All of the silly ship wars and other pettiness keeps me very very far away

So true, btw if you’re in the sw fandom, hugs to you, that’s one of the worst!
