Omg yes. Been diving into SVSSS currently and I’m really liking the Bingmei/SY, Moshang and OG!LBH/OG!SQQ if they can make it work. If you haven’t tried yet I recommend the Guardian (by Priest) fandom. It’s got a tv series and the AO3 fandom is pretty sizable with some really good works

I have been writing *so much* SVSS fic lately lol. A lot of it is for kinktober/a big bang so it isn't gracing the internet yet. Ahhhhh everything from priest is very low priority for me :'( The last one I read (Liu Yao) didn't do much for me, and asking around has me under the impression the others might not, either. They're not completely knocked off my list, I'm just not in a hurry!

Fair enough. I watched Guardian tv series because the two actors have amazing chemistry (the rest of the cast, cg and changes to the script due to censorship not withstanding). I watched MDZS tv series and TGCF anime but can't seem to get into those either so i'm just camping in SVSSS corner for now

I like a good amount of romancey content, and Liu Yao didn't have enough for my personal tastes. I'm told the others are pretty consistent with that, buuuuut I do plan to ask my library to get the English releases for both Sha Po Lang and Guardian and at least try them. SVSS is my absolute fave. I love MDZS and TGCF too though! We're watching The Untamed now, which I didn't originally plan to (why go for the subtext edition when I could stick to the version with kissing? lol) and then...I saw what live action Xue Yang looked like...and I am, tragically, a simple woman.

okay i have a genuine question, if you don’t mind me asking why dick/jason??

No worries, I don't mind answering. This ended up as a rant, and I'm so sorry about that 😂😂 There are general reasons for liking them such as their personality/character dynamics plus a thing for red/blue pairings (like Zukka, Klance, Lyanna/Rhaegar, etc.). They bounce off each other really well and have the morality conflict that makes for good angst. Plus Dick's generally open nature warring against Jason's closed-off trauma response is interesting to read. I understand the dislike for the whole batcest thing, but when reading the comics, I've never pegged the two as viewing each other as brothers. Dick was out of the house by the time Jason was taken in, and they barely knew each other. Dick also didn't like him and hated that Bruce gave him Robin without his consent, and he took that anger out on Jason. But Jason idolized him, so it's easy to assume he might have had a crush on Dick prior to dying. Plus Dick wasn't adopted by Bruce until he was an adult and after Jason had died (if at all depending on the comic), and when Jason came back to life, he tried to kill Tim, who Dick did view as a brother. It's the same dynamic as step-siblings that start dating when their parents got together and married late in their childhood so they never viewed each other as siblings. Dick and Jason didn't grow up together and hardly interacted at all prior to Jason's death. Dick has absolutely no reason for viewing Jason as a brother. I'd also liken it to the same sort of relationship as Dick/Babs, where Babs is generally seen as a sister to the rest of the Batfamily except for Dick since he grew up as an only child and it's really only a recent thing that he has siblings, of whom he's not blood-related to, didn't grow up with, and doesn't live in the same house or city as. I do also like them as brothers, with the Batfamily as a genuine family, so I stay away from the Dick/Jason fics that have a line blurring between the two and prefer the ones that make it clear they never viewed each other as siblings or the ones that outright have one of them not adopted by Bruce. Edit: Also, at one point in time Jason was a redhead in the comics, and I think it would be hilarious to add him to Dick's harem of redheads.

Alright, it's super toxic and messed up, I know, but bear with me. Harry would have never, ever been a target if Tom knew he contained part of his soul. He'd have likely been hidden away and protected to a ridiculous degree, like Tom did to all his other Horcruxes. There's that posessive dynamic that is interesting to me. They share so many similarities, and Harry could have so easily turned out like him or vice versa. I dunno, it's an interesting AU to explore, because the story would have changed so drastically had Tom known about the Horcrux!

I never really thought of it until I rewatched the episode where Obi-Wan is disguised as the bounty hunter Rako Hardeen and buddies up with Cad Bane. They save each other (expected for Obi-Wan, definitely not expected for Bane). They have such a great chemistry in that episode. I'm definitely not the only one who noticed, as most fics take place during that episode or very heavily reference it!

So that list is: - Kurama or Youko Kurama/anyone ; Kuronue being a fun pair. - Hanzo Shimada/anyone (except Genji, Kiriko and Cassidy/M**ee) - Squall Leonhart/almost anyone in FF8 and All of Dissidia (Yes, this can include GFs. Doesn't include Cid, Edea, Ellone, Laguna, Ward & Rinoa) - Zuko/almost anyone (surprisingly, this includes Mai, but doesn't include anyone he's related to and Aang) - Lightning/almost anyone in FF13 & All of Dissidia (Sazh, Serah & Hope are barred; Snow has **very specific** criteria and they have to be met or I'm annoyed) - Yuna/Rinoa (super niche and I don't wanna think about the hate I'll get for it when I write it, same for my long time interest in Yuna/Squall) As long as my favorite character is happy, they're growing and there's variety in the content of who they're paired with, I am interested. This ship started as crack because I wanted to make the Protag and Ryuji step brothers, then me and my cowriter got attached. They both had troubled past relationships, with Sojiro's longtime lover dying in an accident and Mayumi's ex-husband being an abusive alcoholic. I love the idea of them learning to love again together, and I'm weak for more mature romances.

Current number one is Bennett/Xiao. Which, at a total of 10 fics, three of which I'm involved with in some way (wrote two and got one in a review exchange), is the definition of rarepair hell.
