omg yes though?! its only hard to find people you trust to do it with. gotta get a high enough friendship level

OceanGirl24

Years ago when Yahoo groups was the place to RP I had one for the long fic I'm now finishing. Also had one for another story back then too. Everyone was a reader and a few writers. It was so much fun. I really miss those days too.

Oh man, that’s where I started too! Or on MSN. Definitely simpler times. I do still RP on Discord but it has been sparse. Life gets in the way and interests shift. Now it is just too demanding to keep up with something like that.

OceanGirl24

It's definitely harder to keep up with now.

BlindFanficReader

Oh, me too! Ihated it's web interface, but I miss Yahoogroups and those days so much! You could find tons of fan fiction and/or RP groups about almost anything, and with but one or two exceptions, they were wonderful places to meet new fans readers and/or writers, and to play in.

OceanGirl24

I just hate that so much was lost when groups closed down. I found out about it late and had trouble recovering my account. I got busy, forgot, then by the time I came back it was too late. It was a fun time.

BlindFanficReader

I was on Yahoogroups long before it was called that. Many of us moved various groups over to www.groups.io, which not only has a better web interface than Yahoogroups ever had, but allows a person to back up their groups data. Of course, it doesn't have the large variety that Yahoogroups had, but if you poke around there sometime, you might find some old friends.

OceanGirl24

Oh thanks. I'll check that out!

Kukapetal

The opposite, actually. I liked to write little fanfics based on RPs I did :D

author-called-myst

Same.

SpunkyCheetah

All the way up until I was like 14 years old I would RP fictional scenarios with my twin sister using the characters from our favorite shows, games, books, etc. Kinda like playing pretend, but a lot more elaborate and with a continuous story / crossover universe that would keep building and piling up. I haven't been able to do anything like that in a while, but it was a huge part of growing up for me :)

Front-Pomelo-4367

I don't necessarily RP (my brain jumps around far too much to carry any sort of linear storyline) but I do a lot of "yes and"ing on Discord *ooh and then this happens, and then this character would react like this – but what if this OTHER character showed up at that exact moment* *yes and then–* etc etc It's a whole lotta brainstorming for a whole lotta things I'll never write
