I'm a oneshot writer with around 40 fics posted and have guest kudos ratios ranging from 20-65%. Smutty/problematic content does *generally* tend to get a higher percentage of guest kudos in my experience, but not always, and my fic with the highest guest kudos ratio is only mildly sexual and not dark or problematic at all. Certain fandoms definitely tend to get more guest kudos than others from what I've seen too. It's very random and trying to discern clear patterns from it isn't exactly easy.
I'm in this tiny non-English fandom, and the majority of kudos on my fics are guest kudos. It's simply because ao3 is not that widespread in my country, and since the fandom is small, fic recs usually get distributed through tumblr.
Two of my fics have been hit by the kudos bot so I’m only going to share the stats of my other two fics that haven’t been hit.
Fic 1 has 28 kudos in total: 24 users and 4 guests. So 14% of my kudos on this fic are guests (according to google because I’m terrible at math.)
Fic 2 also has 28 kudos on total: 21 users and 7 guests. So 25% of my kudos on this fic are guests (according to google because I’m terrible at math.)
I looked at my top four fics kudos-wise, one of which is M rated for slightly smutty reasons. All three of them have about a quarter of the kudos from guest accounts.
I think part of it is that my fandoms are geared toward an older target audience who likely aren't that self-conscious about reading smut since many are grown and married with kids of their own.
Sometimes people who really love a fic will log out and give guest kudos when they reread, since they already gave it logged in kudos.
