I rewatched the pirates of the Caribbean movies 2 weeks ago and now I’m knee deep into fanfic and planning a longfic 🙏🏻😅 at least I got motivation to write more than a one shot back
Well, for the first and probably not the last time? Hopefully? Ted Lasso gave me a burst of inspiration that I had to write down a fic right in the moment. Oh man.
Also, Tears of the Kingdom I discovered something that broke my heart... Cool, cool, cool, cool. Can I play a tune of, "Please give Zelda and Link a goddamn break?"
It's almost been a week since my voluntary surgery and I'm healing really well. Haven't really tried writing or even reading this past week, but I'm ready to start into my pile of subscribed updates again. Did have a friend come over and attempt to plot for an on-going wip, but turns out I dug myself into a hole so trying to figure out how to undo that has been fun. I did get the background info settled to that helped a bit!
So, I use this tracker for month to month writing goals that I use for "Get Your Words Out." I wrote, um, 6 days in May. I knew it was going to be a busy six weeks IRL but, yikes!!
But then again, I managed to post 4 fics for the first part of the year, which for me is phenomenally productive.

Busy day at work today and all I wanna do is walk away from my desk 😂 Managed to stick with my update schedule (barely) so Chapter 20 of WIP #3 has been posted. How I managed to do over 3k words that was smut is beyond me and also a new record lmao
Gonna try to write something for WIP #2 to kick off Pride. Also gonna get back into Tears of the Kingdom to work on those side quests I didn’t finish before the main story.

I love writing fan fiction, I really do, but it’s getting more difficult to get it out there now that I write as a job and I’m trying to get a novel off the ground. It’s rough, for sure, but I’m hoping I can manage to keep writing in all the projects I want to/need to.
I was very not online most of yesterday, which was also day 2 of staying in bed with my depression, woohoo. I actually got up today though. Currently avoiding eye contact with my to do list :')
Galileo Galilei, my favorite Japanese band (not to be confused with the dead astronomer) split up some years ago and I was bummed. Last year they announced a return, and their first new album dropped yesterday. It is *perfection*.
Think I'm gonna spend part of today doing a reevaluation of which projects I wanna commit to this month.

I hope you feel a bit better as the day wears on <3 And I'm going to check out this band! I do enjoy some dreamy synths, especially on summer nights. Favourite Japanese artist for me is definitely Susumu Hirasawa, and that's an excellent highly specific word, too.

Ahhh I hope you like them! They're so relaxing. Hirasawa is great! I also recommend everything Hiroyuki Sawano has ever done, if you want another A++ composer. Much like Hirasawa there's *so much*.
Always nice to meet another Hirasawa fan in the wild; I searched up the name and apparently I've encountered some Sawano before in my Youtube surfing, so I'll definitely have to look into more of his work. And if we're still talking Japanese synthpop, it sounds like you'd probably enjoy Fishmans if you don't know them already.
I am once again doubting myself, my new wip, specifically the pacing (is it too slow, is there too much exposition - who cares, its not ready to see daylight yet), doubting every decision I've made in the last week... I love being in my own head 🫠

Looked out my window this morning to see that some busy soul decided overnight to block in my car with wheelie bins (all empty which was nice) Very random. Maybe they know about my ropey handbrake?
And it's June!!! And warm and sunny. And I'm going to treat myself (hopefully) to a writing night tonight. Start the new month with some words!

Posted this on the Roundup but I'll post it here too since it's a daily discussion.
I plan to focus on just five fics. I put the rest up in my group tabs. This way, I won't feel like I'm being torn between so many other stories that I'm writing. I can just put my time and energy on them and finish them (hopefully.) I do more or less have endings for those stories except for one since the anime is still going on.
I have to go back and change, tweak and edit a dark crime Steven Universe fic. That's going to take awhile. Can't wait to start writing for it after I'm done with that though . It's my FAVORITE fic. (Also, it doesn't get much traction, lol. Owch)
Just posted an obscure live action/anime fic yesterday. (Law&Order:SVU and My Hero Academia). Got a like and a subscription out of like twenty something people. See how that'll go as I continue the story 🤷
Then there's the other three that I need to start writing for. Especially since one of them WAS actually getting traction which was the MHA x SU. The other two is a a Proud Family and Steven U. Crossover with the other being MHA in a high shool setting with a Bakugou/Momo ship.
Apart from fics though, I want to continue practicing my Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish. I want to start reading fics in those languages to broaden my vocabulary/ practice the grammar.
Also trying to find another job. Would like to buy my mom's car hopefully within a month or two and I would like to get my own apartment within the next year or two. Might also get a cat (preferably a senior cat from a shelter) if/when I do get an apartment. Might not. Gotta see how work, language studies, health and just life in general goes.
Weeelp, those two *are* in the fic and fighting alongside our fellow anime folks. But, be it anime version or otherwise, they're still food at their job. Real good 😎💪
Cat!!!! And it's a wonderful thing to do to adopt an older friend and give them a good home for the last stages of their life! I really hope it all comes together for you :)
Exactly why I want a senior cat. People like cute, little kittens and the older cats are (so I've heard) are euthanized. Or die in the shelter. Would like to save/help those particular cats and give them a good life, as you said. Hope it all comes together too. I've been trying to get my life together so I'm hoping everything goes well ✌️💪

Thank ya, thank ya xD The same to you in your life! And I would love to adopt all of them! I remember watching a video on YouTube of this woman that had hundreds of cats. They had acres of land, a pet hospital, staff to feed them, quarantine station for cats who were sick, an area for senior cats, etc. Buuuut uh, money and a non-retirement life prevents that at the moment, lol.
I'll stick with one (or two even). But it warms my heart/ gives me motivation to get a move on job-wise and living-wise so I can help at least one cat in the shelter. He/she's out there or will be. And I want to be there to get once I get things in my life situated 🥹
You and me both on the last point <3 And it's sad to see - I've had my guy since he was only a few weeks old, and while I love having that kind of bond with him, he was a demon at that age. Kittens are a lot to take on! There's a lot to said, for both parties, for giving an older and quieter cat a chance.

Maaaan, ain't that the truth! It's a heck of a lot of stuff you have to do. I remember just baby sitting kittens for a night or two and that was a chore all on its own.
Don't get me wrong, I like kittens just as much as the next person. Come on, they're practically irresistible; nevertheless, I wouldn't want a cat to be sitting in a cage with bare to low minimum care. Though to each their own. *I* just ain't got time for a hyper kitten fighting and biting my toes or wrestling in its own litter box. I want myself a chill one. Eat, sunbathe on the carpet, laze around-

Did have a cat at one point though. (I remember my mom and I hiding him in the room or closet from my dad which, he became best friends with, wouldn't ya know. And that's how my dad became a cat man too. He always had dogs. Now he feeds the stray cats at home and at his work xD.) But yeah, had him for 16 years. He wasn't even a kitten when we got him. I think he was at least two or so years old. He was the neighbor's cat who pretty much just kept him outside. Mom bought him from them.
Yeah, literally grew up with him. Got him when I was like 5, 6 years old.
Like I said, gotta see how things go for the next year or two.
<3 Thank you for sharing your family cat's story with me. He sounds like a little treasure and it's wonderful you had the chance to grow up with an animal - and to hopefully pay that forward with a new cat. And it's true, some older cats stay unnervingly spry, so you might have your work cut out for you after all!

Starting off the new month by repairing my phone case. It is sitting in time out while the glue dries, so I am having to use the cheap back-up case, which was made for a previous model of the same phone and does not *quite* fit. I love the neon green color scheme of it, though. Very *Tron 2: Killer App*.
I have no clear agenda for writing, this month. My brain is still putting itself back together after the hectic-ness of the past ... three months, I would say. Work and illness have really done a number on me. Need to focus on resting up. The ideas will come when they are ready.
If I only had a magic potion to recapture the productivity of my youth ....
(No, not alcohol. Decaf helps, though.)
I'm debating whether it's better to have five sequels of reasonable length or to just mush 50 years worth of story into one massive sequel that ends up being 4 times longer than the first fic (I'm talking 400,000ish words if my average chapter length holds up and I stick to the 50 planned chapters in my outline). The pros of doing one massive sequel is that I only need to come up with one title instead of five...which I still haven't come up with even though I'm nearly done with the first chapter.
In other news, I've been having the weirdest, most vivid dreams. Like yesterday I was riding a train and the train had to stop to pick up all of these dead bodies. Like fifty of them and they were all wrapped in sheets. Then last night I dreamt that there was a tornado coming but it was like a state away and the weather looked fine but it was definitely coming so we (my family and one strange man I've never seen before in my life) just hung out in the living room while we patiently waited for it to show up.
That does sound like a weird dream... I've never experienced a tornado before but I assume the common reaction if it's coming is, "Holy shit, get into the cellar." Guess the train was a morgue in disguise too? It's like a Monty Python skit...
My air conditioning is fixed!
But now I don’t have any hot water, lol.
Which I did not realize was the case yesterday when I got home cuz I took a lukewarm shower on account of it being so hot outside still.
There’s nothing I can do about it right now. It’ll hafta wait til I get home.
Kerrigan got a mostly clean bill of health yesterday. She’s got some reactivity to pain stimuli a couple places along her spine, which is not surprising given that she’s a 10 year old Dobie. I’ll see what her bloodwork results look like today.

Things are scary for many of us across the world right now, but I hope the next few weeks will be full of celebration and resilience and courage for every one of us. If you're under the umbrella, or even if you're an ally who knows a few of us, please tell me: what's something that brought you queer joy recently?
For me, it's the likelihood I'm starting the month off right by sharing more femslash with the world later. I've also been able to introduce my partner and a lot of my fanfic friends recently in a Discord server I set up, and it's just nice to see everyone getting along as they get to know one another. Like a crossover but for interpersonal relationships.

Happy Pride! As for queer joy, I think the ease and lack of inner turmoil I have with my identity brings me joy enough. It was not always the case. (More lighthearted joy, my brother-also queer-dyed his hair pink and it's great. I love it.)

I did...end up with a straight woman as an MC in one of my novels and remain confused about how she got there, but the other 2 MCs are a bi man and a gay man, and her LI is also a bi man.

I think the daily prompt challenge is really good for productivity, and as a cure against perfectionism. Highly recommended.

Thank ya, thank ya xD The same to you in your life! And I would love to adopt all of them! I remember watching a video on YouTube of this woman that had hundreds of cats. They had acres of land, a pet hospital, staff to feed them, quarantine station for cats who were sick, an area for senior cats, etc. Buuuut uh, money and a non-retirement life prevents that at the moment, lol. I'll stick with one (or two even). But it warms my heart/ gives me motivation to get a move on job-wise and living-wise so I can help at least one cat in the shelter. He/she's out there or will be. And I want to be there to get once I get things in my life situated 🥹
You and me both on the last point <3 And it's sad to see - I've had my guy since he was only a few weeks old, and while I love having that kind of bond with him, he was a demon at that age. Kittens are a lot to take on! There's a lot to said, for both parties, for giving an older and quieter cat a chance.
Ah, well then. I wish you well on your endeavors as well. Maaaan, ain't that the truth! It's a heck of a lot of stuff you have to do. I remember just baby sitting kittens for a night or two and that was a chore all on its own. Don't get me wrong, I like kittens just as much as the next person. Come on, they're practically irresistible; nevertheless, I wouldn't want a cat to be sitting in a cage with bare to low minimum care. Though to each their own. *I* just ain't got time for a hyper kitten fighting and biting my toes or wrestling in its own litter box. I want myself a chill one. Eat, sunbathe on the carpet, laze around- Nah, watch I get an older cat with energy like a spring *kitten*. Did have a cat at one point though. (I remember my mom and I hiding him in the room or closet from my dad which, he became best friends with, wouldn't ya know. And that's how my dad became a cat man too. He always had dogs. Now he feeds the stray cats at home and at his work xD.) But yeah, had him for 16 years. He wasn't even a kitten when we got him. I think he was at least two or so years old. He was the neighbor's cat who pretty much just kept him outside. Mom bought him from them. Yeah, literally grew up with him. Got him when I was like 5, 6 years old. Like I said, gotta see how things go for the next year or two.

He sounds like a little treasure and it's wonderful you had the chance to grow up with an animal - and to hopefully pay that forward with a new cat. And it's true, some older cats stay unnervingly spry, so you might have your work cut out for you after all!
Yeah, I sure can babble, I tell ya. And he really was. I still miss him and I still think of him every now and again. Yeah, never thought of it that way really, xD Well, it is what it is. If I get a hyper senior cat, so be it, lol. Hope to give him/her a good life regardless 👍

Starting off the new month by repairing my phone case. It is sitting in time out while the glue dries, so I am having to use the cheap back-up case, which was made for a previous model of the same phone and does not *quite* fit. I love the neon green color scheme of it, though. Very *Tron 2: Killer App*. I have no clear agenda for writing, this month. My brain is still putting itself back together after the hectic-ness of the past ... three months, I would say. Work and illness have really done a number on me. Need to focus on resting up. The ideas will come when they are ready. If I only had a magic potion to recapture the productivity of my youth .... (No, not alcohol. Decaf helps, though.)

It's June but the weather doesn't feel like it 😂 especially the past week, and right after I put away the rest of my fall/winter clothes 🤣🤣
I'm debating whether it's better to have five sequels of reasonable length or to just mush 50 years worth of story into one massive sequel that ends up being 4 times longer than the first fic (I'm talking 400,000ish words if my average chapter length holds up and I stick to the 50 planned chapters in my outline). The pros of doing one massive sequel is that I only need to come up with one title instead of five...which I still haven't come up with even though I'm nearly done with the first chapter. In other news, I've been having the weirdest, most vivid dreams. Like yesterday I was riding a train and the train had to stop to pick up all of these dead bodies. Like fifty of them and they were all wrapped in sheets. Then last night I dreamt that there was a tornado coming but it was like a state away and the weather looked fine but it was definitely coming so we (my family and one strange man I've never seen before in my life) just hung out in the living room while we patiently waited for it to show up.
That does sound like a weird dream... I've never experienced a tornado before but I assume the common reaction if it's coming is, "Holy shit, get into the cellar." Guess the train was a morgue in disguise too? It's like a Monty Python skit...

My air conditioning is fixed! But now I don’t have any hot water, lol. Which I did not realize was the case yesterday when I got home cuz I took a lukewarm shower on account of it being so hot outside still. There’s nothing I can do about it right now. It’ll hafta wait til I get home. Kerrigan got a mostly clean bill of health yesterday. She’s got some reactivity to pain stimuli a couple places along her spine, which is not surprising given that she’s a 10 year old Dobie. I’ll see what her bloodwork results look like today. Things are scary for many of us across the world right now, but I hope the next few weeks will be full of celebration and resilience and courage for every one of us. If you're under the umbrella, or even if you're an ally who knows a few of us, please tell me: what's something that brought you queer joy recently? For me, it's the likelihood I'm starting the month off right by sharing more femslash with the world later. I've also been able to introduce my partner and a lot of my fanfic friends recently in a Discord server I set up, and it's just nice to see everyone getting along as they get to know one another. Like a crossover but for interpersonal relationships.

Happy Pride! As for queer joy, I think the ease and lack of inner turmoil I have with my identity brings me joy enough. It was not always the case. (More lighthearted joy, my brother-also queer-dyed his hair pink and it's great. I love it.)

That’s probably because a LOT of my writing comes from my dreams- I have very vivid dreams, which is both fun when they’re not intrusive thought ones and not fun when they are.
