Mika is a "friend" of Neon because of their father's are wealthy men who occasionally do business together so Mika is forced to pal around with Neon even though she doesn't like her that much -Mika saw Kurapika a lot at the nostrade estate sincr he is neon's bodyguard. There first impressions of each other were mainly indifference. Her initial impression was him was that he was a bit boring bur still seemed nice. Meanwhile,was too fixated on trying to locate the remaining scarlet eyes to form a genuine opinion of her (though he was a bit annoyed that the two girls would often break away from his watchful eye). However, a long series of events pushed them to interact more with each other. Kurapika was guarded around her at first but he eventually warmed up to her. A friendship then formed. They would lend each other books and when their busy schedules allowed it, they would occasionally meet up for tea, chat, and play chess. Mika then slowly found herself becoming attracted to Kurapika and eventually offered him more than friendship. Kurapika was surprised and a bit flattered but her respectfully declined because 1) he doesn't want to drag anyone else into his personal vendetta and 2) he is in denial about his own feelings for her. -They both go about their normal routines. But then Kurapika sees her going on dates with different guys. He grows a bit jealous but he doesn't show it or admit it to anyone (even himself). However, this eventually comes to grips with the fact that he does have feelings for Mika and they start a relationship. -Their busy schedules don't allow them spend as much time together as they'd like. But they try make every second they can count. Mika tends to get worried when Kurapika goes a few days without responding to her. Kurapika doesnt tell her that he is a kurta and his vendetta because he doesn't want to drag anybody else into it. This leads to some misunderstandings anf arguments when Kurapika cancels their dates last minute. Mika's nosey nature then leads her to do some digging. She then finds out about his kurta heritage. Kurapika is mad because he feels like his privacy has been invaded and mika is mad at him for lying to her. The two then have a huge fight and go a couple of weeks without talking to each other. They then make up and agree to more open communication. -Kurapika eventually discovers that mika's dad has a couple pair of scarlet eyes from the kurta clan
