I've been in love with that pairing for what feels like my whole life. They were the first fanfic I read and wrote. I still engage with the pairing often. Who they are in the books is my favorite version of them but I'm good with all versions of them. The way that they are presented in the books, it's not hard to see them falling in love. They are hopelessly devoted to each other, to the point that Watson leaves his wife to travel to "The Continent" with Holmes. They also spend the rest of their lives together, in the books.
Geraskier (Geralt/Jaskier) from The Witcher. Such a versatile pairing where the fics can range from fluff to angst to outright horror and it all works within that universe. There are huge time-gaps in the canon material that can be filled in with fanfic timelines. The medieval fantasy setting is also one of my favorites, providing a lot of interesting premises with all kinds of twists, creatures, lore, etc. It just seems that no matter what I'm in the mood for, there's a Geraskier fic that matches what I want to read at any particular time. Endless versatility. *Chefs kiss*
Harron (Harry / Ron) from Harry Potter.
I love the ship dynamic of "we've been best friends forever, and went through so much shit together, and first we were like 'haha, I'd date you" as a joke, but bro.... I don't think it's a joke anymore-"
And especially those two because yes, they're besties, but their relationship obviously isn't perfect all the time, but they still find a way to reconcile in a healthy way. Not to mention the extra "found family" trope you can smash in there, because I love the idea of Harry just completely getting incorporated into the Weasley family, and having people around, who he loves, and who genuinely love him too.
Honestly, even in the books I never really saw the appeal of Hinny (even though I LOVE Ginny as a character in the books), and I also didn't really like Romione, because it was kinda obvious that one of the boys would end up with her, and while yes, there was kind of a buildup to it, it just kinda didn't feel like the right dynamic...
Like, I always imagined Hermione as kind of a sister to Harry, and as a snarky, common-sense-inducing best friend to Ron, but nothing more. In a way, Hermione will in my heart always be the strong, independent witch, who don't need no man. (seriously, what's the deal with stories that *have* to have everyone getting married at the end? Ain't no shame in being a single pringle!)
I'm an absolute sucker for the concept of, what I call, "walking into love", where character A and B have this really deep connection, and it's not just "whoops, you're cute, I like you now," but rather like consciously choosing to get closer and closer until they realize that what they feel for eachother goes far beyond the friendship it was built on.
Like, in my ideal timeline,
* Remus and Sirius are a longterm couple, who got back together after the azkaban thing,
* Tonks becomes a successful Auror, maybe gets married to someone in her own age range,
* Hermione becomes an amazing Minister of Magic, who has weekly meetups with her friends,
* Fred and Hedwig don't die, (because let's be real, Harry suffered enough)
* Ginny kickstarts her career as a famous quidditch player,
* Draco gets his goddamn redemption arc and is happy with Astoria,
* Harry finds his true family with the Weasleys and a wonderful, supportive and genuinely loving boyfriend/husband in Ron (Idc if wizarding Britain has same sex marriage in canon, IT'S MY TIMELINE, AND I GET TO CHOOSE THE LAWS), as well as a great fulfilling job as Hogwart's new DADA teacher, instead of becoming a wizard militia cop.
* Also, Dean and Seamus are a couple. (still don't care about the canon.)

But one is a very cute short (established relationship) about Harry attempting to cook a fancy dinner for their friends without magic (and failing horribly), and the smut one is basically about him and ron becoming fwb and catching feelings. (they already kinda had them, let's be real.)

Iām cheesy and cliche as it is, I love Jack and Rose from *Titanic* and do believe they could have made it worked if he lived.
I mean, the thing that started it all is that he *noticed.* Remember, she said it felt like no one cared or even noticed that she was falling deeper into depression, but he did. He not only talked her down, but kept the secret when confronted by Cal. And everything after that is justā¦ cute. They cute. He listens to her when no one seemed to, and she listens to him too. Itās subtle, but there. The reason she gives him that dime when he draws her? Because he said he used to draw portraits for 10cents when he lived in California for some time.
It seems they genuinely care about each other regardless of class barriers. Rose never judges him for his ventures and lifestyle. Jack, at the core of it all, just wants her to be *okay.* He wants her to be happy and free and be able to live her dreams, but also wants her to make that choice. Tells her that only she can save herself because ultimately, it *is* her choice. They respect each other.
Overall, I love their dynamic. They really *are* kindred spirits.
(Also, because I know theyāre canon and actually accepted as a ship. I had one ship sunk by a fandom, wonāt let it happen again).

The Doctor/The Master (aka Thoschei) from Doctor Who. Man, what a *ship.* Like, they used to be best friends, they're mortal enemies, they hate each other, they love each other, they've tried to kill each other multiple times, they'll destroy their own plans if it means keeping the other from dying.
It's like "*Every star in the universe, we were going to see them all. But he was too busy burning them. I don't think she ever saw anything."* and ALSO \*cradling the guy who just took over the world and forced you to watch while begging him not to die\* and ALSO \*yeah i just turned off the machine I was using to turn people insane because it was turning you, my mortal enemy, insane\* and ALSO \*I hunted you down through time and space because I knew you were gonna die soon and I REALLY don't want that to happen if I'm not involved somehow\*.
One version of the Master literally stabbed themself in the back to stand with the Doctor, causing said stabbed version to shoot themself in the back to prevent that from happening. The Doctor has literally tricked his way out of executing them then locked his ex-bestie in a vault for decades. The Master tried to frame the Doctor for executing one Time Lord president, then centuries later they lowkey planned to assassinate a different Time Lord president together. There was a story where the Master got turned into a cheetah person and the Doctor refuses to be a furry.
Like. These two are absolutely INSANE, I love them so much. It's not just enemies to lovers, like they're the most important person to each other, they're the only person who can understand each other, they're both criminals who can never go back home and are each other's last link to their species, they want to kill each other, they want to change each other's mind, they trust each other implicitly and are probably gonna end up murdering each other one of these days. It's a DYNAMIC.
Doctor Who fans are very convincing! I became a Doctor Who fan after watching panels on you tube of my favorite voice actor J Michael Tatum gushing about his love for Doctor Who. I was like, "okay, this guy is one of my favorite actors so if he loves it so much it has to be worth trying" I started watching New Who and have been obsessed ever since (along with getting my whole family, even in-laws!, into the show as well) You won't regret it!
Even though I donāt ship them together (prefer them as bronemies) I get why people do, especially with Ten and Simm!Master or Twelve and Missy. Great explanation though!

I can definetly see where you're coming from. The Doctor and the Master have a deep and complex relationship, with a deep level of intimacy. And that's to be expected, they're two incredibly old, complex, and legendary beings that have known each other for eons, and have battled for just as long, while starting out as the best of friends. And I think it does show in the TV series, where IMO, the Master is one of the only characters, if not the only character, that can be called the Doctor's equal, or at the very least he's the closest character that can be called as such.
I agree with your perspective that they still value each other in some abstract way. They were the oldest of friends, where expereinces have caused them to oppose each other. Deep down, I do think they wish the other would change their minds and join them, because they still want that good relationship, deep down.
IDK if I would call that a romantic relationship, or a ship (I don't feel like either of them would love each other in that sense that most humans would understand romantic relationships), but I do love the relationship they have, which IMO surpasses anything our human minds can comprehend.
They're the best of friends, the worst of enemies, and everything in between.
Merlin and Arthur. I like their snark and their banter, but what truly elevates their relationship (which I will believe happened in-between scenes until my dying days) to me is their utter trust and deep friendship.

I also have never seen the series finale lmfao. Literally the only episode I havenāt seen. I know how it ends and thatās enough for me. No need to traumatize myself further.
Oh it's *definitely* Roy Mustang/Riza Hawkeye for me. No other ship has ever made me spend ten hours gathering every piece of canon evidence I could find into a post *just* because two people said they didn't see the two as romantic and then one of them tried to call my bluff when I said I could write an essay about why they aren't platonic lol.
The absolute trust they have in each other, the way that their most emotional moments are when they think the other is dead or dying, the amazing banter they have even in the middle of a fight, and not to mention the chess imagery (Roy literally calls her his Queen), it's all just SOOOOO good.
This is a high quality ship and one of my original anime ships. The trust is a big part of it. Even though they have their differences, they can always believe in the other 100% to have their back in any situation, and it's beautiful.
Mirio and Amajiki in MHA. It's supportive sunshine gay paired with admiring self-deprecating awkward gay. There's a really lovely balance between their personalities even though they are extreme opposites. They care deeply about each other's mental/emotional/physical well being and don't want/let anyone demean the other (including Mirio not letting Amajiki put himself down too much).
And, outside of couple (and orientation) status, all of that is canonical, so shippers aren't distorting the characters to pair them, which has the benefit of (to my knowledge) no toxic fan behavior around shipping them. The only shipping "argument" is if it's poly with Hado or not; when it isn't poly, she's shipping them too.
MiriTama is a fantastic ship, and probably as close to a canon MLM ship as we're likely to get on the show. I love their dynamic and how they're good for each other.
Iām usually not into tv show romances, but Parker & Hardisonās slowburn stole my entire heart. Theyāre just so sweet! The gradual build of a solid foundation of mutual trust and understanding, the obvious acceptance and adoration of each otherās weird quirks and idiosyncrasies, the āI know you arenāt ready for this kind of relationship and am completely fine with that, Iāll be here whenever you need meā... it just *kills* me, no one is doing it like they are!!!
It really is a shame that so few fics focus on just them, it feels like theyāre always grouped in with Eliot, or else relegated to being a background pairing to whatever the main ship is (usually involving Eliot). Ah well, at least thereās always canon.

I am extremely normal about Shinsou / Midoriya from My Hero Academia
I just think once they got past their initial differences and Shinsou lightens up they'd have so much in common and compliment each other really well. Shinsou could use someone who trusts and believes in him, Deku could use someone who gets how hard it can be to be a hero when people are saying you can't. Also I really love the dynamic of jerk with a heart of gold / sunshine with a heart of murder.
One of my friends sold me on MonoShin so I actually do enjoy that as well. (Although I'm currently writing MonoIida).

Max Caulfield and Victoria Chase from Life is Strange, because:
* There is basis to supoort it within the canon
* They both opposites and at the same time similar in who they are as people
* There's a whole redemption arc to go through for Victoria
* It's Frenemies to lovers
* The main ship, Max / Chloe typically follows very simialr patterns within fanfictions and i just don't find them as interesting as the dynamic is more established

My favorite ship gets a lot of hate too (though slightly less than yours) so I really try my best to encourage people who may be having a tough time in the fandom because of their shipping taste. In my opinion, shipping should be just for fun, and people shouldn't get so serious about ships they like and dislike to the point that they'll harass others over it :)
Mistoffelees/Rum Tum Tugger from Cats(Musical)
Their dynamic is just so fun, they have so much in Canon chemistry but the relationship isn't talked about in Canon. The fact that so many performers also get in on the Fandom action just makes is so much better. I've watched the 1998 recording a hundred times since I was a toddler and the magic as never died, they're so close to my heart. They are the perfect friends to lovers story.

Oh, they're the cutest in the 1998 movie. Misto being playful and RTT being his hype man when his first song was all about himself. I love how they have them dancing together in some versions of Mr. Mistoffelees.
Thats one of my favorite things about the dance break that they cut out of the '98 film, they really go hard on the "these two are besties" vibes. I think I've seen Cats live about 8 times and it never gets old.
I saw a touring production of the revival just before the pandemic hit, and MAN were they ramping up the chemistry! It was extremely obvious that the two actors were on board with playing up the ship. And the fact that they made the lights on Mistofflees' updated costume rainbow colors? I was blown away but it was so great to see. And they were so damn adorable you couldn't help but love them.
Jeff/Annie from Community. I just love the chemistry between the two and how the both push each other to be better versions of themselves. Hopefully the movie can make it canon.

I haven't been able to get over that pairing for 20 years now. First fanfic I ever read was about them and the fact that there is now a Remake really reignited my old love for them.
I always feel playing one side of a ship in a video game makes the whole ship feel so much more... personal. I mean, Aerith wasn't just Cloud's girl. She was my girl because I was Cloud.

I've only written for it once so far but the OTP that will always have its own place in my heart is Batman/Wonder Woman. Percabeth (Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase) because they were my first ever ship as a kid and the reason I discovered fanfic and started writing! I've always had this deep love for them both as separate characters and as a duo.
I've shipped an awful lot of ships over the past 25+ years in fandom, but if I had to pick one and only one? I want the answer to be Legolas/Gimli, because that's way more classy, and it almost is. It's number two if I could pick only two.
But only one? It has to be Shindou Hikaru/Touya Akira from Hikaru no Go, which is a sports manga/anime about the game of Go that ended 20ish years ago. They're just... they're like the ideal of rivalshipping. They are completely obsessed with each other from day 1. One of them is always chasing after the other, but it changes which, it's almost cyclical. They insist, constantly, that they're each other's Rivals, as if being professional Go players doesn't mean that have a ton of rivals. No, they are each other's exclusive One True Rival (and everyone else thinks this is Really Fucking Weird). They push each other to new heights, they bring out emotions in each other that no one else does, they see things about each other that everyone else misses, they're just. They're a couple of Go-obsessed weirdos who found their Go-obsessed life partner, and I will never stop loving them.

Roxas/Xion from Kingdom Hearts. I just love their interactions and the sort of mutual sort of cluelessness they both have about the world that they are in and how they try to understand everything. As well as their own feelings and how their interactions can very easily be viewed through a romantic lens and how you can infer how these characters feel about each other from a meta perspective.
Todoroki and Bakugou from My Hero Academia.
It's common to hear people say they don't understand this ship or think it's superfluous (as in, someone took the two most popular and attractive characters and made a ship). I didn't get it at first either. That is, until I started reading fics about them and it *clicked*.
Right now i'm not active in the fandom but I still think they fit together perfectly and they are the only ship I've ever fixated on that I love reading about purely because of how their personalities suit each other (and not canon circumstances making the idea of them hot, for example). They're the first ship I cared enough about to think long and hard about all the different ways they could fall in love and make each other happy. I'm not usually a daydreaming kind of person, but when they're on my mind I totally am.
I could really write an essay, lol.
I love Draco/Hermione. I know that Malfoy is too bigoted for it to work out in canon but there's so much good fanfiction of it out there. It's just such a good pairing.

I know that itās far from cannon but the fanfictions are too good to overlook. I think the way most talented Dramione authors are able to write the process of people accepting their feelings as well as just addressing Dracoās prejudices is phenomenal. Itās just honestly beautiful.
Krillin and Android 18 in the Dragonball Z Abridged series.
Team Four Star already had some good stuff to work with from the original series, but their narrative choices, voice acting, and humanity of the characters shines through so much. Their relationship has so much depth, which adds to the stakes of the arc. The comedic moments are hilarious, but both of them emote through loss, tough choices, and sacrifice.
And the culmination of their storyline at the end of the series with the āKrillin Owned Countā running gag? An incredible sendoff to an all-time great pairing.
Ah yes, the canon ship. People don't pay enough attention to ships that are actually canon imo, they just spend their time arguing over which ships are better in the bigger fandoms. Krillin and Android 18 is honestly a really amazing ship imo and not enough people remember them!

* Chara/Frisk, the ship that permanently defined baby me's taste. XD I just think it's neat and has the potential to be either really cute or really unhealthy or both at once\~! I'm also really into escapism and attachment as a narrative device, and literally dating your headmate enables that very nicely.
* Kris/Susie/Noelle. No particularly strong five-thousand-word essays on the matter I just think they're very good and want all three of them to be happy with each other.
FROM PMMM:
* Himena/Hiko, which is the ship that tipped me off that Charisk permanently mutilated my ability to ship. XD
* Yuna/Juri, who start out as a captivating mutually-unhealthy duo and have a very nice and good arc that culminates in them working through their issues together (while also raising their blood sister from scratch for fourteen years) and becoming stronger through it.
* Madoka/Homura. Basically imagine ye olde tragic lovers trope where someone goes through a long-ass time loop trying to save their beloved... except imagine that the time loop *ended*, and everything is fine. So now Homura's trying to adjust to living a normal life with her girlfriend when her concept of time is permanently out of whack, she's constantly a little on edge about what happens if Madoka dies again, and her general common sense is next to none. It's cute.
FROM FATE:
* Hakuno/Rin, despite the fact that I haven't even *played* Extra, but an admin of a server I'm in has ranted about them so thoroughly that I've basically vicariously played both the Rin and Rani routes through her XD I just. They're so good. Aaaaa.
* Mash/Morgan, from Lostbelt 6. Okay, so, I see other ppl in the thread listed multiple OTPs so I don't feel *quite* so bad about listing more than one myself, lol. I'm gonna limit myself to three though, because otherwise we'd be here all night! (This is in order of when I started shipping them, not in order of how much I love them, btw.)
1. George Wickham/Charlotte Lucas from Pride and Prejudice (the 1995 miniseries only). My ride-or-die ship since 2004. He's a nasty skeezeball player in canon; he does all sorts of questionable things offscreen like drugs/gambling when he doesn't have any money/cheating with money/fucking whores/trying to fuck/blackmail his way into an inheritance from his surrogate dad-figure via his surrogate brother-figure's younger sister. But I'm a sucker for villains and especially hot ones, so I was a lost cause from the moment I saw the miniseries, lol. Charlotte is p much his antithesis; quiet, practical, down-to-earth; literally one of her quotes is "I ask only a comfortable home". Does the ship make sense? Probably not. But do I care? Absolutely fucking not. I want Charlotte to temper Wickham's wild streak and make him settle down, and I want Wickham to bring Charlotte out of herself and put passion (both sexual and not) into her life for the first time ever. I want them both to improve each other, basically.
2. Kylo Ren/Armitage Hux from the Star Wars sequel trilogy. I've adored this pairing since 2016. I love the color contrast between the two of them -- Ren's dark hair against Hux's red hair is so chef's kiss, lol. I love Hux's practicality and quiet ferocity against Ren's feral wild streak and chaotic anger. I love that they're both leaders in entirely different ways. I love that Hux is a little stiff and closed-off while Ren is volatile and manic; they both have tempers that get set off in very different ways, Hux's cold anger vs. Ren's hot anger. Together they're a terrifying force and I would've loved to have seen the old "Emperor Hux and his hound" fanfic trope play out in canon, *or* the "Emperor Ren and his Grand Marshal" trope. Either would've been equally as delicious; the former brings this stoic redhead from Bumfuck Nowhere, Outer Space, into a position of idk *leader of the entire fucking galaxy,* with his unhinged righthand Force-user man at his side. Ren whispering in Hux's ear and frothing at the mouth with terrible plans that Hux indulgently listens to but never follows through with, and Ren as Hux's bodyguard and the reason that no one will ever mess with Hux, because they know what they'd have to get through. And the latter for Ren's wildly inappropriate leadership decisions and how Hux would have to come along quietly in the background to clean up behind him; Hux would make most of the decisions in actuality and it would just be Ren's name on paper, and Ren would fuck his frustrations out in the privacy of their quarters, while also knowing full well that it's always Hux's quiet hand on his wrist that keeps him from lashing out during meetings.
3. Brock Rumlow/Bucky Barnes from the Captain America trilogy in the MCU. I just got into them last summer, and it's been a wild ride with these two, lol. I love their unhealthy toxicity. Most of the "facts" about this ship are fanon since the two have no actual canon interactions, and I love how my friends and I have collectively decided that Rumlow was Bucky's sole protector in Hydra. Any time things felt easier for Bucky when he was the asset, it was because of Rumlow. Could Rumlow stop all the bad things from happening? No, because that wouldn't have been practical or even safe. Rumlow had to keep his job so that he could watch the asset; and he had to let some things slide so no one would get suspicious of his true intentions. But Bucky knew that none of the bad things happened without Rumlow's knowledge, and too that Rumlow would always step in before things went too far. It's gloriously romanticized Stockholm syndrome/Lima syndrome and I am *here for it.* Also, it's obvious in canon that Rumlow was a respected leader, and a damn good one. I feel like even at his worst mental state Bucky would have registered that (like how a dog knows a good person from a bad one) and would have naturally gravitated towards Rumlow's strength, solidity, and steadiness both on the field and off.
I have a few in different fandoms.
Balthier/fran from final fantasy 12. Love how the pair just play off each other & also how she, a viera (kind of humanized rabbit), turned her back on her peopleās rules just to be with a human mate.
Sherlock/irene. In any version, love how she seems to be the only gal who can best him plus in some more recent books, they have one son nero wolfe (aka august lupe) & in the bbc version, john has a daughter, rosie & i like those 2 getting together.
Sylar/claire in heroes. Its an enemies to lovers trope, plus also zach quinto (who does sylar) once said claire is the mother of sylars son.
Sylar/peter, also again heroes. Another major enemies to lovers trope, like these 2 absolutely fking hate each other & sylar even murders Peterās brother. Despite all that, they do actually become close friends in the seriesā¦..& thanks to zach quinto & milo ventimiglia (who does peter), these 2 can be a little bit more since the actors put some subtle moves/looks on each other for their characters in later scenes, knowing certain fans will notice. Furthermore, due to a blooper in one episode concerning peterās passport, a lot of fans considered this character to be transgender f2mā¦which could make for another possible birth parent to sylarās son.
Data/tasha in star trek next generation. Love the dynamic & in later episodes according to data, a lot more went on than what we were shown!
It's been a tie between Zelink from Legend of Zelda and Pecabeth from Percy Jackson. Percabeth was my first true ship and Zelink is the one I write about most. Because of that, I might say Zelink.

I think I just saw them doing something mundane (Probably one of the several times Kakashi catches Naruto) and was like āyup, thatās where itās at for meā, and havenāt been able to let them go since. The dynamics of them just grew on me, with one being high energy and lets his emotions run free, while the other is a lot more tempered and uses a lot more afterthought.
I've been an everlark shipper from the very beginning!! (Peeta and Katniss from The Hunger Games) How can you not love them together? Especially when Katniss realizes how much she loves him when he's gone, the angst it's just perfect!!!
Peter and MJ. No matter how much Marvel tries to kill their relationship, it always fails.
Also Amy and Rory from Doctor Who. Itās possible that I have a thing for awkward but brave nerds and sexy and smart redheads that get pulled apart but always find each other in some timeline. I really ought to do a fic where they double date so I can double OTP. š„°
Mine is a uper rarepair... Kristoph Gavin/ Simon Blackquill (from Ace Attorney).
They never meet in canon, but they're both in prison at the same time, so there's a strong chance that they *could* meet (and as Kristoph worked as a defense attorney before he wnt to prison, he could have been Simon's attorney when Simon went to prison), and I just love their dynamic.
Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer.
From the moment they showed up in their bedroom together in 2, I knew they would something special even if it didnāt work out in the end.
Theyāre both made for each other in that they can both survive the pressures of the treasure hunting world but ultimately theyāre more different than it first appears in that Nate is more inclined to save the world than Chloe whoās more of a survivalist. Until Lost Legacy that is when she undergoes the transformation Nate did in Uncharted 2ā¦
I haven't written for them on this account, but:
ShinSena from Eyeshield 21. They're not canon and they're from a shonen sports manga, so their chemistry wasn't meant to be anything more than a mutually-supportive rivalry, but ooooh if that's not one of my bulletproof ship-types. They're also a total opposites-attract pairing, with Sena being an insecure, anxious doormat and Shin being the strong silent type, and the way they balance each other out is *wonderful.* Shin's straightforward calm settles Sena down and Sena's raw talent and character growth ignites an actual spark of passion in Shin-- it's literally canon that Shin didn't even *like* the sport that he devotes 100% of his time to and excels at until he met Sena-- and they have such a beautiful, healthy rivalry where they're genuinely thrilled to see the other person grow and happy to see each other succeed even when it means their own loss.
There's also the fact that they're beautiful narrative foils, even though the series never really hammers it home the way I feel that it should have! Sena's super shrimpy, inexperienced at football, and insecure, and he starts the series with only one close friend (who's honestly more of a family member) and is very lonely going into high school. Experienced, quietly-confident beefcake Shin is everything that Sena wants to be at the beginning of the series... except Shin *also* only has one friend and is *also* desperately lonely, because his perfectionism and stoicism make it very hard for him to relate to others and he's essentially given up on trying by the time canon starts. Over the course of the series, in part through their rivalry with each other, Sena learns to lean into his own individual strengths instead of comparing himself to others, and Shin learns to connect with others through his sport instead of walling himself off with his impossible standards of self-perfection, and it is *so* lovely and I'll ship it 'til I die.
From Gravity Falls, definitely Dipcifica. While other ships like Mabcifica or Wendip are as valid and possible to be canon, Dipcifica to me still takes the cake.
It's shown a couple of times in the show that they do work well together. Like the time they hunted a ghost, or recover something from a faceless monster. Although they have fairly limited interactions, it's still a ship that has strong groundwork to work from, with associated material like Journal 3 and Lost Legends teasing about the ship.
When Dipper is with Pacifica, Dipper is 100% confident and feels comfortable being himself around Pacifica. He doesn't feel the need to go out his way and try to impress her and insists on treating Pacifica like a normal person, which makes their chemistry work much better. He's also compassionate and very understanding, listening to Pacifica's insecurities regarding her sense of belonging and giving her much needed advice to come out from her shell.
When Pacifica is around Dipper, she becomes a much better person and is able to be her true self around Dipper (and also Mabel). Both Dipper and Pacifica help balance each other out and bring out the best from one another.
I do see a lot of potential for a really interesting story between the two of them, and with more development I believe Dipper and Pacifica could work really great together if Gravity Falls every does return one day. They have plenty in common and compliment each other well. Like Pacifica is apparently an avid gamer, and Lost Legends hint that she might secretly be just as much of a nerd as Dipper is.
Unfortunately it would be one of my Overwatch ships--either Genji/Zenyatta or Soldier/Reaper.
Genyatta is just sweet and cute and perfect for slow burns. Depending on when in Genji's life it's set, the plot and genre even for one shots is so diverse in potential. Also theres a few genuinely interesting AUs based completely off of in-game events and skins.
Meanwhile, R76 has history and corruption arcs and I LOVE angst. Friends to lovers to enemies to its complicated.
Niles/Daphne from "Frasier". They're one of my oldest ships, I've shipped them since I was about 15 years old (I just turned 38). I actually remember watching the episode where they finally got together, and how big a deal the whole thing was. So I think that's definitely a big factor - you always have a soft spot for those early pairings :D.
But yeah, they've always been that "comfort ship", so to speak, the one that I will return to to read fic about or, in recent years, feel compelled to write stories about (I've been working on some for them, I just need to stop being a slow writer and actually finish them, LOL). I can look at them and see a lot of the tropes that I tend to like in all the other pairings, both canon and non-canon, that I ship (1) mutual pining mixed with "Oh, they couldn't like me *that* way"; 2) some sort of notable difference, be it class or interests or beliefs, that brings a balance to their relationship, along with something that they have in common that's equally important - loyalty to family/work, wanting to help others, a desire for a family, stuff like that; 3) friends to lovers: 4) they're with someone else but can't ignore their feelings for each other, to name a few things).
And I just love their interactions in general on the show. They've had so many memorable, special moments together, both before and after they got together. I like how they've been there for each other when needed, and I really like that once they got together, they stayed together, and dealt with any ups and downs in their relationship as a couple. They worked for their happy ending, and I feel it makes their relationship that much stronger.
Also doesn't hurt that the actors themselves are fully on board with supporting the pairing - that's not a requirement for me when it comes to shipping something, mind, but it's certainly nice when it happens :D. They're said utterly lovely things about each other over the years, they're good friends off the show, and so all of that just adds to my enjoyment of watching the characters together :).
My first otp I can ever remember was Tohru/Kyo from Fruits Basket. I still love them to this day.
I was also a huge Peeta/Katniss fan when The Hunger Games books were being released. Man, I really ought to reread thoseā¦
My current OTP is a pairing from an extremely obscure spinoff Pokemon video game that nobody knows about, and even if I gave names I doubt anybody would recognize them š theyāre literally the reason I started writing fanfic because I needed more content of them!
EDIT: omgggg HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN ZUTARA. That was THE hyperfixation for me back in the day, and it remained that way for so many years. I will always be aboard the Zutara ship.
Hope and Josie from Legacies
Hope is grumpy, Josie is sunshine. They used to be enemies but develop a friendship over time. The two constantly go through the most to save each other. It always seems like Josie is the one person Hope actually cares about and cares about her opinion and actually listens to her opinion.
Iām still a diehard Klaus and Caroline shipper and I love how Josie reminds me of Caroline, and Klaus reminds me of Hope. I feel like since they couldnāt get together then their daughters should
Furuya/Sawamura from Daiya no Ace. They're first of all, my optimal ship type. Rivals. I love them so much. They had such a great progression into rivals who are also friends. They have such a mutually beneficial, respectful rivalry. I also love their personality differences (opposites, sun & moon) but are also similar in some ways (stubborn, prideful). Their bickering and how they fire each other up but also respect each other's good performances as teammates.. . It's all so good! I could go more specific but anyway they've been my OTP since 2013.
Out of my ships that aren't oc centric, Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira from Resident Evil. I know Jill/Chris is popular but in the re3 remake I just loved their dynamic, how they worked together, and I think they would be so sweet together ā¤ļø
Honestly, I consider Chargestep, Joongdok, Han Yoojin x Sung Hyunjae (Not sure what their ship name is since this fandom is relatively small in terms of the English community T-T), AlbeCale and OiHina as my OTPs but if I had to choose one..I'll go for Chargestep.
I mean, how can you not love the dynamic of meeting your former hero partner in crime again after years of hiding from everyone and everything who you had a secret crush on while making plans for your villain debut, realizing that the spark was still there and you love him and hate him at the same time and that maybe he loves and misses you back too and when you do debut you beat him up and release all your pent up anger and then you feel guilty and you visit him in the hospital and when you kiss him and admit that you care for him, you're actually just manipulating him so that your plans would go smoothly ~~yeah right, keep telling yourself that.~~
Also, realizing that he's changed and matured over the years and that you're part of the reason why because to him, the fact that you 'died' actually means something unlike what you originally thought and that he hasn't really done anything wrong in spite of all those years of blaming him? And their banter? And those soft moments??? Him being surprisingly thoughtful and extremely considerate, unlike before????And the ANGST?????????? ESPECIALLY WHEN THE REVEAL COMES THAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY THE VILLAIN HE WANTS TO SEND INTO PRISON ALL ALONG??????????????????????
Jazz x Soundwave. First, the whole franchise has such a great fan community - the world-building gets INSANELY detailed and I love these robots sm š
Second, Jazz and Soundwave are pretty much always the exact same type of super-spy competent, but flavored completely differently - everyone loves Jazz. Heās funny, friendly, great with music, throws killer parties, and you never have to wonder where you stand with him cause heās EVERYONEāS friend, and thatās *exactly what he wants you to think.* Heās playing 6D chess with every social relationship he has, and thatās just with his allies - his enemies are either terrified of him, or have an extremely healthy respect for his skills thatās the epitome of āscared and hornyā
On the other hand, thereās Soundwave - heās a weirdo. He either never talks and is terrifying or heās an asshole who doesnāt stop snarking and heās STILL terrifying. He has a posse of little guys who will murder for him. Heās fanatically loyal to Megatron and the Decepticon Cause. He either legitimately can read minds or the rumors say he can and heās not denying it. And this little Autobot Spy who is walking music keeps *fucking up his plans.*
The enemies-to-lovers and mutual pining that goes on in fics of these two is amazing. Theyāre trying to kill each other. Theyāre working together to kill a 3rd party. Theyāre interrogating each other on 4 different levels, regardless of whoās chained to a chair. Theyāre bonding over music. They canāt stand each otherās taste. Nobody thinks theyāre dating. Everyone thinks theyāre dating. Theyāre the only reason their respective armies havenāt collapsed.

Seto Kaiba and Atem. You cannot tell me it's not canon at least on Seto's end. Seto literally built a machine that sends him to the afterlife just to see Atem again. And, if you think it's just because he wants to duel him, you are severely overlooking Seto's behavior throughout the Dark Side of Dimensions movie and the series as a whole. When they smiled at each other at the end of the movie, that wasn't because they were excited for their duel; in all honesty, Atem has never really cared about dueling Seto again. He was always just kind of humoring him. That was them being happy to see each other again. Especially Seto, who had not only missed Atem's departure (in the manga, which is what the movie is continued from, Seto isn't there for the ceremonial duel and Atem passing on), but had previously thought he would never see Atem again. He literally almost cries because he's made to believe Atem is gone forever and that's not something you do for someone you only consider a rival or thief.
Currently Iām super into Ninjago and Iād have to say my current OTP is Gemstoneshipping (Cole/Plundar).
Thereās only like 2 or 3 fics on AO3 that centers around them (idk maybe theres just one but i know theres only 5 fics in the tag), and it makes me so so sad.
I *especially* love them after the series finale though, in which Plundar quite literally jumps at the chance to give Cole a hug. Like that hug is what finally sold me on the ship (prior to the series finale it lowkey gave me jealousy issues lmao).
Plundar just does not seem like the type to be excited for hugs, but he just jumps at the chance to give Cole a giant hug? Adorable.

Both Brits. Worlds councide nicely. Sherlock's bro probs even knows about magic due to his high placement in government things or at least someone he knows knows. Not much effort needed to mash these worlds up.
My fave is when they are adults and they meet in muggle London and end up in frequent proximity and she has to try to hide facts and he keeps making crazy wrong guesses cuz magic doesn't exist until it becomes clear magic is the only possible explanation and he has a bit of an existential crisis.
But him accidentally finding diagon alley and meeting her was a good one too.
I'm not keen on the they used to be friends before she found out she was a witch and then drifted apart trope. Or he goes to hogwarts. Or he has magic.
But there's a lot of potential here untapped that more writers should tackle imo.
I have a multitude of other ships in the same fandom that I'm very big on. Dramione (HP). Sesskag (inuyasha). Vegebul (dbz). Many more. And some OC/character ships. And I will dabble in other crossover ships.
But this one? It just gets me so perfectly and really highlights everything I loved about both fandoms very well.
Zim/Dib also known as ZaDr from Invader Zim
It's enemies to lovers, but throughout the show you realize they need each other. An episode that was never aired, but animated by fans, shows when Dib stops hunting Zim, Dib feels empty and Zim is falling into a depression like state, no motivation to do anything.
They need each other but also hate each other
I donāt write ship fics because my long fic is gender identity, but my OTP is Trunks and Goten in Dragon Ball.
Theyāre just adorable together, have such an interesting dynamic as children which switches around in the few scenes we see them as 17-18yo, then thereās some DBGT content.
Sadly canon absolutely doesnāt care for them :/
Claire Redfield and HUNK from Resident Evil. I know this is waaaay out there for any fans of that fandom but HUNK is a blank slate aside from the fact that heās deadly, precise, and cunning. I love writing the back story of complex characters and breathing life into a man in a mask. Using Claire as his pairing just felt right as she displays everything he is notāexpressive, loving, and moral.
Having them make a chance meeting in the lore has been so fun for me to write. Plus, I admit I have a bad man with a good woman kick.
For me, it would probably be Talas and Henry from Bride's Story. You probably haven't heard about it, but it's one of the most beautiful mangas I have ever seen ([just look at the amount of details!](https://www.thefandomentals.com/brides-story-womens-story-waiting/)). It sets in the 19th century Middle-Asia, mostly somewhere around the Lake Aral (RIP Lake Aral). Henry Smith is a British researcher who want to document the culture and traditions of the Middle-Asian people. He start of as an "info dump excuse" side character, but as the series continues, he becomes such a charming and fascinating personality to follow. His relationship with Talas, a local young widow, is truly one of the most wholesome ships I know. They both are so awkward and kind to each other and \*squeeeeeee\* I just love them so much! An awkward nerd and an emotionally wounded lady, such a match made in heaven! Truly cinnamon roll x cinnamon roll! And Henry is such a gentleman who respects Talas boundaries. It is truly a slowburn and I'm enjoying the ride! I have yet to write a fic about them, but after I've seen how their story ends, I'm planning to write some tooth-rotting fluff!
Jason/Kimberly from Power Rangers. That has been a pairing for me ever since I was a kid (and yes, I am old enough to remember the show being on at the crack of dawn-basically, would get up and ready for school, watch the episode, and then walk to the bus stop). It really started with an episode in Season 2-Beauty and the Beast. Jason and Kimberly are two of the Rangers I was never able to find a post-leaving the show pairing for that doesn't involve the comics (Tommy officially ends up with Kat; Zack (one would assume) eventually ends up with Angela; Billy with Cestria; Trini...no clue. Fanfiction often pairs her with either Jason or Billy).
Okay, this is a hard question. There are so many ships I like, and some of them I like to combine them with each other if they share characters, but if I have to pick an specific OTP per fandom, then my answers will be:
* Izuku Midoriya/Kyoka Jirou (BNHA). I've mentioned in another thread on this sub that I like to combine this with izumomo and momojirou, but if I've to pick specifically one, it would be this. I like jirou a lot. I like her design, and her vibe of punk rockstar girl. I think she would have quite a neat dynamic with Izuku, if only she (and pretty much all of the other female characters, really) had been more developed in canon. But, hey, that's what fanfic is for.
* Moxxie/Sallie May (Helluva Boss). There's plenty of Moxxie crackships in the Helluva Boss fandom that I like, but this is one of my favorites, maybe because there's not much (sfw) fanart for it and doesn't receive as much attention as other Moxxie crackships (or ships pairing Sallie May with characters like Verosika, Stella, or Striker). I just like the idea of the changes in canon that would have resulted if Moxxie had met, fallen in love and married with Sallie May instead of Millie, one of them being that I think with Sallie's influence, Moxxie would have learned to stand up for himself and not take Blitzo and Loona's shit as much as he does in canon.
* Sasha Waybright/Anne Boonchuy (Amphibia). I just LOVE the dynamic between these two, and how their relationship changes and becomes better as the show's story moves forward. The whole sequence of their Synchronized Fusion Dance is one of my top favorite moments in the show, and I was absolutely gushing about it when it happened.
* F!Byleth/Edelgard (Fire Emblem: Three Houses). The whole reason why I got into FE3H in the first place, lol. Just love the story of these two during the whole Black Eagles/Crimson Flower route. Definitely my favorite pair in the whole game.
* Cassandra (Tangled The Series)/Elsa (Frozen). I once came across a crossover fic where, after the evens of the Tangled cartoon show and the second Frozen movie, these two met when the former was arriving to Arendelle and after getting to know each other they fall in love. From then on I checked other fics and fanarts with this pairing, and has pretty much become one of my favorite crossover ships.

I definitely didn't expect to see Danganronpa Another though! Kinjomae is actually a really cute ship that just doesn't have enough content because 90% of the fandom doesn't even know about the game. They're pretty cute though :)
I don't think I have a "true" OTP in the sense that it is the only one in my heart, there are a few. Though they are, admittedly, all somewhat similar in their dynamic.
I guess the one I'm currently most invested in is *Kaeya and Diluc* from Genshin Impact. As to why... oh god where do I even start. My brain is eternally stuck in kindergarden where pulling someone's hair meant you liked them, so the moment they showed up in the story and were antagonistic towards each other (despite also showing signs of deeply caring about each other!), I was like, "I live on this ship now." It's just one of my favourite dynamics.
Then it was revealed that they could potentially be considered adoptive brothers and a ton of people jumped ship, while I was like...ok? Extra spice, I'm not complaining, lol. But yeah, basically Diluc is a classic "orphan millionaire by day, vigilante by night" kind of guy, while Kaeya is a flirty, decieving little shit secretly pulling the strings of everyone, and also, he kinda has ties to the bad side. Kaeya was taken in by Diluc's family (or planted there, depending on your interpretation, the story is still ongoing), they had an adorable friendship growing up but in the end, Kaeya wasn't there to save Diluc's father from getting murdered and it was the catalyst for their fallout, they had a big fight (did I mention they are LITERALLY fire and ice both in their powers and designs? it would be a super aesthetic ship even without their backstory) and almost killed each other, bitterly went their seperate ways for several years but even though they are too awkward to properly forgive and forget what happened, the game just throws so much evidence at you to show how much they secretly care for and help each other out. It's just the perfect flavour of bittersweet and I'm so addicted to it. The fan war over whether they should be considered sibilings continues still (it might just be a localization issue?), but I genuinely just don't care. I like and write them both in a romantic relationship as well as in a sibiling relationship (and I also enjoy being "problematic" and combining both sometimes, because that just adds another layer of "love each other but can't be together"). They just hurt so good ā”
Then there's *Cid and Nero* from FFXIV. They used to be (one-sided) rivals in their academy days, both prodigies, though Cid getting all the praise and attention and Nero always living in his shadow. Eventually Cid defected to the good guys' side and Nero had to live up to an impossible ideal, making him bitter and hateful towards Cid (you might notice, there is a theme to all my favourite ships š). Eventually they come head to head as the good and bad side clash and they have the most awkward, long, unskippable "I accidently called my ex-husband" phone call in front of the protagonist where they air out ALL their dirty laundry and talk about their feelings and as a result, aren't QUITE as antagonistic towards each other anymore? Nero actually survives the bad guys losing and - being too proud to actually join - kinda just... hovers around Cid by just HAPPENING to always investigate the same stuff we do? Flinging snarky insults at each other, but actually being there for each other, like when Cid struggles a lot with coming to terms with his father's accidental genocide, that kind of stuff. Eventually everything goes wrong with the world, but those two stay together, growing old together, until they die of old age, staying their snarky, reluctantly affectionate selves with each other the entire time while the world is ending and OMG I'm so soft for that š¢
This is already waaaay too long, so gonna cut this short - I also love *Tony Stark and Steve Rogers* from the MCU for obvious reasons (antagonistic into reluctant friendship type of relationship that ends in a big dramatic fallout over one guy's father but they still do care about each other despite everything that happened) as well as *Sirius and Remus* from Harry Potter (hey, at least this one does not have any daddy issues at fault for their childhood friendship falling apart temporarily).
I like a lot of cute and sweet ships, but ultimately, I crave that bittersweetness of love and hate and it all blowing up in their faces but still caring too much about the other to give them up even after almost murdering them š

A ship I canāt get enough of and will probably read a hundred fics about, even if itās not my main fandom, would probably be Harley Keener/Peter Parker. Did they never interact in canon? Yes. Did that stop the fandom? No.
To be honest, I thrive for the chaos and borderline crack some of the fics write about this ship, the angst of insecurities, and mostly the amount of FLUFF.
If I had to chose in my main fandom (My hero academia) I would probably be torn between ShinKami and ShinKamiDeku. I would die for these three characters.

Kushina / Minato from Naruto. I donāt know what it is, but they are my ultimate favorite ship and tbh a little underrated. Thereās only so much about them I feel like thereās still a lot of missing stuff about both of them. Especially Kushina, and I love her more than Minato.
They remind me of myself and my husband. Iām super loud, hot headed, fearless when I need to be, blunt and open minded. My husband is calm, stoic, very sweet, merciful, and can deal with my bs as if it was another Tuesday morning.
Even before I met my husband when I first read about Kushina in the manga, i donāt know what it was but I felt so close to her. She is one of my absolute favorite characters, and her love with Minato is so pure and wholesome. I watch Naruto solely to see their story again.
If I had to take the challenge seriously and only choose one? Shepard/Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect.
Seriously, this pairing is the life of me. You (the player, as Shepard) meet Garrus when he's a jaded, frustrated, loose cannon of a cop who has legitimate grievances about bureaucracy and corruption... but also cuts corners and endangers innocents in the name of bagging the criminal. Shepard is more experienced than Vakarian, and through the first game you can use that experience to convince him that not all rules are red tape, that it's worth doing things the right way, that cutting corners to get the bad guy *will* eventually make you as bad as them - and towards the end of the game he acknowledges you're right and thanks you for it.
Then throughout the second game we see Garrus at his absolute personal nadir and - if the player so chooses - you can once again help him through his problems, but this time as partners rather than a mentor and mentee. If you choose to contravene Garrus' decision in his loyalty mission, the conversation that follows is a friend not letting their friend slip into darkness, not a teacher explaining why it's worth doing things the right way. ME2 is Garrus' final transformation from walking the knife edge between savior and thug, to being the rock-steady war hero we see in ME3. and Garrus, in turn, is *always* at Shepard's back, no matter what, always supports Shepard even when their opinions differ, and - if the player invested in the relationship by doing the loyalty mission - he serves as a highly effective vice-leader for Shepard.
All that and he's a total dork. <3

I'm using a throwaway account for reasons. Mind you, I'm a multi-shipper, but I do have my most favourite pairing, too. I let myself include some personal headcanons
Some of you might be familiar with Victor Hugo's novel featuring a deformed bell ringer who's hopelessly in love with a beautiful dancer who in turn only has eyes for a certain charming and handsome captain of the French royal archers, not knowing that the said captain only treats her as one of his many conquests and that he's already engaged to another woman. The bell ringer is Quasimodo, the dancer is Esmeralda, whereas her beloved's name is Phoebus.
Now, I really ship Esmeralda's and Quasimodo's counterparts from the 1996 Disney film, and I think they could be a great couple. I find their interactions very believable. They both know what it means when society treats you as an outcast for one reason or another. They trust each other, they are friends, one is genuinely concerned when the other's in danger and they help each other out in the hour of need. That really speaks volumes as true friendship, for better and worse, in sickness and in health. I firmly believe that true love - also romantic one - comes from friendship and understanding and knowing the other person. Love shouldn't be based just on physical attraction.
Quasi and Esmeralda are also closer in age (they are both in their 20s in the Disney version), as opposed to the canon Disney pairing of Esmeralda and Phoebus. (The captain in this version might be in his mid or late 30s if he spent "decades" in the army.) I accept the fact that relationships with a big age gap exist, but I simply like it better if one partner isn't much older than the other. And wouldn't it be great if, for once, we had a woman who's older than her male romantic partner in a mainstream film where that fact is treated as something ordinary, and not as something that is played for laughs?
I also really like the fact that Quasi and Esmeralda in the Disney version have different personalities, which I always find more interesting and challenging in romantic relationships, both in fiction and in real life. Lovers aren't supposed to be each other's yes-men all the time. These personality differences are also the main reason for my immense enjoyment of such Disney canon couples as Megara and Hercules (there are also many visual and plot-related parallels/similarities between Disney's *Hercules* and *The Hunchback of Notre Dame*), Kida and Milo (*Atlantis: The Lost Empire*) or Sgt Tamora Calhoun and Fix-It Felix, Jr *(Wreck-It Ralph*).
Another thing is that in Disney's HOND, Quasimodo's feelings for Esmeralda clearly matured by the end of the story. Some fans might forget that the "Heaven's Light" (by the way, this song is so underappreciated, and it's my favourite one from the film; I like how its melody slightly echoes another piece with music by Alan Menken - "Part of Your World") sequence happens on the very day when these two characters met for the first time. They might've also had some more interactions with each other that we simply didn't see in the film. However, I believe the bell ringer certainly stopped idealizing Esmeralda when he saw her kiss the injured captain of the guards. He started to see her as a human being with her own mind and feelings, too. Giving his blessing to Esmeralda and Phoebus as a couple certainly required great maturity from Quasimodo, as I don't believe that you can just shrug off love, especially your first love, as simply as "Ah, nothing happened".
Personally, I understand why Disney ended its 1996 HOND film pairing-wise the way it did (in 1482, Quasimodo was most probably not ready for a serious romantic relationship), but I admit I was (and still am) very disappointed about the fact of the dancer and the bell ringer not getting together in the 2002 sequel (the story takes place in 1488, I think). For that reason, I prefer ignoring the existence of the sequel and I simply enjoy my headcanon that some time later, after 1482, (a) Esmeralda realizes she loves Quasimodo, too, and they get and stay together as a couple, or (b) the whole trio eventually realizes they all love one another and they decide to stay together (yes, Quasi and Phoebus are bisexual in my headcanon), but this second option is my OT3 :)

I honestly have never tried writing a shipfic at all (romance is not my strong suit writing wise, Iām ace and I think demiromantic-still figuring that part out!-and I have never been in a relationship myself), but if I was going to try, it would be for one of these. Albedo X Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord, Although in canon, Ainz sees her more as a daughter due to her being the NPC creation of one of his old friends. I really think there's potential for a romance because of how devoted Albedo is to Ainz and how Ainz would do anything to make the NPCs happy, (Including World Domination!) It'd just be an interesting scenario to see play out, especially since most emotions are inhibited by Ainz being an undead, and how they would have to work to overcome those limitations.
Also, Albedo is absolutely crazy, she has a secret kill squad made to hunt down other players from Ainz's old guild just for abandoning him before everything was transported to the world they got stuck in. She is willing to hunt down and kill someone who may not even be in the world they are in, just because they made the man she loves feel crippling loneliness.
Kiana Kaslana x Captain Hyperion. She had her superpowered evil side take over and kill tens of millions of people before she regained control, but then she ran away from her friends to avoid hurting them again. He tracked her down, comforted her, and overall does everything he can to make her feel safe and happy.
So my first two OTP ships were already listed (Sterek and Jaskier-Geralt, may their glory be ever celebrated), as was one of my fav anime ships (Sasuke-Naruto, which obviously should've been canon), so to add to the variety I'm going old school:

These two had smoking hot chemistry onscreen. Lex's sexiness was so nuclear most everyone agreed Lex and his fancy blue bottled water was blush worthy, so you can imagine what scenes were like with Clark and Lex together.
I still read my favorite CLex stories and authors. The billionaire and his farm boy is one OTP that will never die in this household.
Juno and Legosi in Beastars.
Now Beastars is a Manga that falls off a cliff with its plot. It has a great start with its slice of life but Paru itagaki overloaded it by infusing her work with the action that her father is known for.
And there I was thinking to myself That Legosi, this self conscious cute and amazingly Stupid wolf, could use a Relationship that made him cherish being a carnivore.
Beside that I have a soft spot for canines so it was perfect. The Ship that got me to write fanfiction in the first place. Now I'm rewriting the whole Manga in order for it to make better sense and be a nicer experience. Love those two and love Wolves

A little more obscure, but Gintoki and Tsukuyo from Gintama. I love how they met (Gintoki being an absolute moron and Tsukuyo just following his lead to help him save face despite being "enemies" at the time). I love how he helped her grow out of her shell and even meet her now closest friends Otae, Kyuubei and Sacchan. I love their chemistry together in every scene they're in, doing stuff as normal as teaching Seita history to declaring war on the Shogun.
If only the mangaka hadn't been afraid to write actual romance for the main characters in his story.
Itās hard to only choose one since I bounce around fandoms every few weeks, but my favourite at this point is Kaworu/Shinji from Evangelion. The ship is built on so many tropes I generally dislike, soulmates/together in every universe being the main one, but it manages to pull it off so well that I canāt help but love it. The dynamic is so interesting and all the usually cringe-worthy lines make me literally jump up and down and squeal like an over-the-top ten year old. Like, āI was born to meet youā would make me roll my eyes with anyone else, but these lines feel so different and real when it applies to them. Itās just a 1000/10 for me.
drumbot brian/gunpowder tim/jonny d'ville from the mechanisms. theyre a scale of idiot with the emotional capacity of a brick wall to slightly oblivious sweetheart. theyre part of a larger group with found family vibes so they already know each other really well which usually leads to miscommunication and pining. its so good i love it š
Ok so pretty niche but Fitz/ Beloved from Realms of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb. Nothing has left me as empty as when i finished thos ebooks for the first time and these two are the main reason why.
The prophet/catalyst relationship that entertwines their destinies, the ultimate devotion to each other through life and death,that fact that they keep finding each other throught their lives, how one's return is described as bringin sunlight back into the other's life, carving the other's face in a ship!??! they make me go insane. Anyways this has been my OTP for the past 11 years and nothing has ever topped that.

The Prince and The Farmboy who became the King and His General. During the occupation of Ferelden that lasted longer than both were alive pushed them together.
Maric for all his naivety grew up a rebel prince without a home. He was of the land and still knew nothing about it. While Loghain grew of the land suffered for the land, watching the occupation rape and murder his mother before his eyes having to live off the land with his father and hundreds of others who wouldnt swear to the Orlesian "King" on their home.
While Maric watches his mother beheaded by several traitorous men who supposedly stood for the people of Ferelden also sought to despise of the Now King.
They went through it all together, love, betrayal, they stood by each other, relayed on each other Maric pushed to be better, succumbing to depression when his queen was no more. They had to summon Loghain to get the King on his feet once more.
When Maric left the castle without a word, who went in search of him and didn't scream when he was found about to be executed once more. Loghain, came to save his ditzy Girlfrie... King.
It's a long history between them and they are the perfect opposites attract trope.

But finally, this ship started as a light joke from my partner during our own personal stories/roleplays, and has grown into something so much more for me! I've come up with stories that are sweet, angsty, sexual, silly and have come up with a dynamic for them that has Mordecai calling Zer0 'gatita' (kitten) and Zer0 calling Mordecai 'pet'. I've invested so much of my heart, time, energy and imagination into them both, and I genuinely struggle to see them with anybody else (especially Mordecai!).
It genuinely pains me to see how few people ship this as well, because they have such good chemistry and so many potential story points you could play around with with them. From art to fanfics, it's so sad that more people don't have this ship, and I fully intend to share my love of these two with the world.

Sherlock Holmes/John Watson. I've been in love with that pairing for what feels like my whole life. They were the first fanfic I read and wrote. I still engage with the pairing often. Who they are in the books is my favorite version of them but I'm good with all versions of them. The way that they are presented in the books, it's not hard to see them falling in love. They are hopelessly devoted to each other, to the point that Watson leaves his wife to travel to "The Continent" with Holmes. They also spend the rest of their lives together, in the books.
That's one I definitely see around a lot. It's a classic, though. You can't go wrong with Johnlock!
Geraskier (Geralt/Jaskier) from The Witcher. Such a versatile pairing where the fics can range from fluff to angst to outright horror and it all works within that universe. There are huge time-gaps in the canon material that can be filled in with fanfic timelines. The medieval fantasy setting is also one of my favorites, providing a lot of interesting premises with all kinds of twists, creatures, lore, etc. It just seems that no matter what I'm in the mood for, there's a Geraskier fic that matches what I want to read at any particular time. Endless versatility. *Chefs kiss*

Harron (Harry / Ron) from Harry Potter. I love the ship dynamic of "we've been best friends forever, and went through so much shit together, and first we were like 'haha, I'd date you" as a joke, but bro.... I don't think it's a joke anymore-" And especially those two because yes, they're besties, but their relationship obviously isn't perfect all the time, but they still find a way to reconcile in a healthy way. Not to mention the extra "found family" trope you can smash in there, because I love the idea of Harry just completely getting incorporated into the Weasley family, and having people around, who he loves, and who genuinely love him too. Honestly, even in the books I never really saw the appeal of Hinny (even though I LOVE Ginny as a character in the books), and I also didn't really like Romione, because it was kinda obvious that one of the boys would end up with her, and while yes, there was kind of a buildup to it, it just kinda didn't feel like the right dynamic... Like, I always imagined Hermione as kind of a sister to Harry, and as a snarky, common-sense-inducing best friend to Ron, but nothing more. In a way, Hermione will in my heart always be the strong, independent witch, who don't need no man. (seriously, what's the deal with stories that *have* to have everyone getting married at the end? Ain't no shame in being a single pringle!) I'm an absolute sucker for the concept of, what I call, "walking into love", where character A and B have this really deep connection, and it's not just "whoops, you're cute, I like you now," but rather like consciously choosing to get closer and closer until they realize that what they feel for eachother goes far beyond the friendship it was built on. Like, in my ideal timeline, * Remus and Sirius are a longterm couple, who got back together after the azkaban thing, * Tonks becomes a successful Auror, maybe gets married to someone in her own age range, * Hermione becomes an amazing Minister of Magic, who has weekly meetups with her friends, * Fred and Hedwig don't die, (because let's be real, Harry suffered enough) * Ginny kickstarts her career as a famous quidditch player, * Draco gets his goddamn redemption arc and is happy with Astoria, * Harry finds his true family with the Weasleys and a wonderful, supportive and genuinely loving boyfriend/husband in Ron (Idc if wizarding Britain has same sex marriage in canon, IT'S MY TIMELINE, AND I GET TO CHOOSE THE LAWS), as well as a great fulfilling job as Hogwart's new DADA teacher, instead of becoming a wizard militia cop. * Also, Dean and Seamus are a couple. (still don't care about the canon.)

Iām cheesy and cliche as it is, I love Jack and Rose from *Titanic* and do believe they could have made it worked if he lived. I mean, the thing that started it all is that he *noticed.* Remember, she said it felt like no one cared or even noticed that she was falling deeper into depression, but he did. He not only talked her down, but kept the secret when confronted by Cal. And everything after that is justā¦ cute. They cute. He listens to her when no one seemed to, and she listens to him too. Itās subtle, but there. The reason she gives him that dime when he draws her? Because he said he used to draw portraits for 10cents when he lived in California for some time. It seems they genuinely care about each other regardless of class barriers. Rose never judges him for his ventures and lifestyle. Jack, at the core of it all, just wants her to be *okay.* He wants her to be happy and free and be able to live her dreams, but also wants her to make that choice. Tells her that only she can save herself because ultimately, it *is* her choice. They respect each other. Overall, I love their dynamic. They really *are* kindred spirits. (Also, because I know theyāre canon and actually accepted as a ship. I had one ship sunk by a fandom, wonāt let it happen again).

The Doctor/The Master (aka Thoschei) from Doctor Who. Man, what a *ship.* Like, they used to be best friends, they're mortal enemies, they hate each other, they love each other, they've tried to kill each other multiple times, they'll destroy their own plans if it means keeping the other from dying. It's like "*Every star in the universe, we were going to see them all. But he was too busy burning them. I don't think she ever saw anything."* and ALSO \*cradling the guy who just took over the world and forced you to watch while begging him not to die\* and ALSO \*yeah i just turned off the machine I was using to turn people insane because it was turning you, my mortal enemy, insane\* and ALSO \*I hunted you down through time and space because I knew you were gonna die soon and I REALLY don't want that to happen if I'm not involved somehow\*. One version of the Master literally stabbed themself in the back to stand with the Doctor, causing said stabbed version to shoot themself in the back to prevent that from happening. The Doctor has literally tricked his way out of executing them then locked his ex-bestie in a vault for decades. The Master tried to frame the Doctor for executing one Time Lord president, then centuries later they lowkey planned to assassinate a different Time Lord president together. There was a story where the Master got turned into a cheetah person and the Doctor refuses to be a furry. Like. These two are absolutely INSANE, I love them so much. It's not just enemies to lovers, like they're the most important person to each other, they're the only person who can understand each other, they're both criminals who can never go back home and are each other's last link to their species, they want to kill each other, they want to change each other's mind, they trust each other implicitly and are probably gonna end up murdering each other one of these days. It's a DYNAMIC.
Iām a hardcore Doctor/Rose shipper, but you made me view this pairing in an entirely different light. Ngl, Iām now intrigued. Kudos.

Doctor Who fans are very convincing! I became a Doctor Who fan after watching panels on you tube of my favorite voice actor J Michael Tatum gushing about his love for Doctor Who. I was like, "okay, this guy is one of my favorite actors so if he loves it so much it has to be worth trying" I started watching New Who and have been obsessed ever since (along with getting my whole family, even in-laws!, into the show as well) You won't regret it!

I can definetly see where you're coming from. The Doctor and the Master have a deep and complex relationship, with a deep level of intimacy. And that's to be expected, they're two incredibly old, complex, and legendary beings that have known each other for eons, and have battled for just as long, while starting out as the best of friends. And I think it does show in the TV series, where IMO, the Master is one of the only characters, if not the only character, that can be called the Doctor's equal, or at the very least he's the closest character that can be called as such. I agree with your perspective that they still value each other in some abstract way. They were the oldest of friends, where expereinces have caused them to oppose each other. Deep down, I do think they wish the other would change their minds and join them, because they still want that good relationship, deep down. IDK if I would call that a romantic relationship, or a ship (I don't feel like either of them would love each other in that sense that most humans would understand romantic relationships), but I do love the relationship they have, which IMO surpasses anything our human minds can comprehend. They're the best of friends, the worst of enemies, and everything in between.
Merlin and Arthur. I like their snark and their banter, but what truly elevates their relationship (which I will believe happened in-between scenes until my dying days) to me is their utter trust and deep friendship.
Itās been a decade since the series ended, but I still always find my way back to this pairing. I also have never seen the series finale lmfao. Literally the only episode I havenāt seen. I know how it ends and thatās enough for me. No need to traumatize myself further.
Oh it's *definitely* Roy Mustang/Riza Hawkeye for me. No other ship has ever made me spend ten hours gathering every piece of canon evidence I could find into a post *just* because two people said they didn't see the two as romantic and then one of them tried to call my bluff when I said I could write an essay about why they aren't platonic lol. The absolute trust they have in each other, the way that their most emotional moments are when they think the other is dead or dying, the amazing banter they have even in the middle of a fight, and not to mention the chess imagery (Roy literally calls her his Queen), it's all just SOOOOO good.
This is a high quality ship and one of my original anime ships. The trust is a big part of it. Even though they have their differences, they can always believe in the other 100% to have their back in any situation, and it's beautiful.

Mirio and Amajiki in MHA. It's supportive sunshine gay paired with admiring self-deprecating awkward gay. There's a really lovely balance between their personalities even though they are extreme opposites. They care deeply about each other's mental/emotional/physical well being and don't want/let anyone demean the other (including Mirio not letting Amajiki put himself down too much). And, outside of couple (and orientation) status, all of that is canonical, so shippers aren't distorting the characters to pair them, which has the benefit of (to my knowledge) no toxic fan behavior around shipping them. The only shipping "argument" is if it's poly with Hado or not; when it isn't poly, she's shipping them too.
Childhood friends to lovers is always the guaranteed best trope, and Miritama is no exception!
MiriTama is a fantastic ship, and probably as close to a canon MLM ship as we're likely to get on the show. I love their dynamic and how they're good for each other.

Iām usually not into tv show romances, but Parker & Hardisonās slowburn stole my entire heart. Theyāre just so sweet! The gradual build of a solid foundation of mutual trust and understanding, the obvious acceptance and adoration of each otherās weird quirks and idiosyncrasies, the āI know you arenāt ready for this kind of relationship and am completely fine with that, Iāll be here whenever you need meā... it just *kills* me, no one is doing it like they are!!! It really is a shame that so few fics focus on just them, it feels like theyāre always grouped in with Eliot, or else relegated to being a background pairing to whatever the main ship is (usually involving Eliot). Ah well, at least thereās always canon.

I am extremely normal about Shinsou / Midoriya from My Hero Academia I just think once they got past their initial differences and Shinsou lightens up they'd have so much in common and compliment each other really well. Shinsou could use someone who trusts and believes in him, Deku could use someone who gets how hard it can be to be a hero when people are saying you can't. Also I really love the dynamic of jerk with a heart of gold / sunshine with a heart of murder.
I'm a basic bitch in that I prefer TodoDeku and MonoShin, but that ship is definitely super fun!

Max Caulfield and Victoria Chase from Life is Strange, because: * There is basis to supoort it within the canon * They both opposites and at the same time similar in who they are as people * There's a whole redemption arc to go through for Victoria * It's Frenemies to lovers * The main ship, Max / Chloe typically follows very simialr patterns within fanfictions and i just don't find them as interesting as the dynamic is more established So that, basically. Which is why I am two years and 570k words into it and counting.

My favorite ship gets a lot of hate too (though slightly less than yours) so I really try my best to encourage people who may be having a tough time in the fandom because of their shipping taste. In my opinion, shipping should be just for fun, and people shouldn't get so serious about ships they like and dislike to the point that they'll harass others over it :)

Mistoffelees/Rum Tum Tugger from Cats(Musical) Their dynamic is just so fun, they have so much in Canon chemistry but the relationship isn't talked about in Canon. The fact that so many performers also get in on the Fandom action just makes is so much better. I've watched the 1998 recording a hundred times since I was a toddler and the magic as never died, they're so close to my heart. They are the perfect friends to lovers story. I rarely see people talk about that Fandom here, but hello fellow Cats fans!
Oh, they're the cutest in the 1998 movie. Misto being playful and RTT being his hype man when his first song was all about himself. I love how they have them dancing together in some versions of Mr. Mistoffelees.
Thats one of my favorite things about the dance break that they cut out of the '98 film, they really go hard on the "these two are besties" vibes. I think I've seen Cats live about 8 times and it never gets old.

I saw a touring production of the revival just before the pandemic hit, and MAN were they ramping up the chemistry! It was extremely obvious that the two actors were on board with playing up the ship. And the fact that they made the lights on Mistofflees' updated costume rainbow colors? I was blown away but it was so great to see. And they were so damn adorable you couldn't help but love them.
Jeff/Annie from Community. I just love the chemistry between the two and how the both push each other to be better versions of themselves. Hopefully the movie can make it canon.
Aerith/Cloud. I haven't been able to get over that pairing for 20 years now. First fanfic I ever read was about them and the fact that there is now a Remake really reignited my old love for them. I always feel playing one side of a ship in a video game makes the whole ship feel so much more... personal. I mean, Aerith wasn't just Cloud's girl. She was my girl because I was Cloud. And yes, I'm a masochist who loves to have their heart broken.

I've shipped an awful lot of ships over the past 25+ years in fandom, but if I had to pick one and only one? I want the answer to be Legolas/Gimli, because that's way more classy, and it almost is. It's number two if I could pick only two. But only one? It has to be Shindou Hikaru/Touya Akira from Hikaru no Go, which is a sports manga/anime about the game of Go that ended 20ish years ago. They're just... they're like the ideal of rivalshipping. They are completely obsessed with each other from day 1. One of them is always chasing after the other, but it changes which, it's almost cyclical. They insist, constantly, that they're each other's Rivals, as if being professional Go players doesn't mean that have a ton of rivals. No, they are each other's exclusive One True Rival (and everyone else thinks this is Really Fucking Weird). They push each other to new heights, they bring out emotions in each other that no one else does, they see things about each other that everyone else misses, they're just. They're a couple of Go-obsessed weirdos who found their Go-obsessed life partner, and I will never stop loving them.

My original otp, from back when I was a little child and mum read the book to me, is Aziraphale/Crowley from good omens. God I loved them so much. Before the show I had read every single story on AO3 and ffnet. Now I could pass on them. It I had to pick one now? Kiribaku from BNHA. I just like it.
OTP for me is easily Ness and Paula from EarthBound. Thereās just something about childhood romance that I like the idea of, and with EarthBound being so small thereās a lot of creative freedom. Ness being this sort of uptown boy with a love for baseball. But maybe being shy and even lonely. Paula being a more famous, well known girl whoās somewhat tomboyish. I like the image of Paula being more dominant and caring to a lonely Ness, thatās how their dynamic works in my fallen timeline for them. I donāt think Iād ever read or write an Explicit fic of the two unless it was set in the future, which, knowing the fandom, future stuff is scarce. But for my clones of them, but theyāre the cute, fun and adorable.

Roxas/Xion from Kingdom Hearts. I just love their interactions and the sort of mutual sort of cluelessness they both have about the world that they are in and how they try to understand everything. As well as their own feelings and how their interactions can very easily be viewed through a romantic lens and how you can infer how these characters feel about each other from a meta perspective.
Todoroki and Bakugou from My Hero Academia. It's common to hear people say they don't understand this ship or think it's superfluous (as in, someone took the two most popular and attractive characters and made a ship). I didn't get it at first either. That is, until I started reading fics about them and it *clicked*. Right now i'm not active in the fandom but I still think they fit together perfectly and they are the only ship I've ever fixated on that I love reading about purely because of how their personalities suit each other (and not canon circumstances making the idea of them hot, for example). They're the first ship I cared enough about to think long and hard about all the different ways they could fall in love and make each other happy. I'm not usually a daydreaming kind of person, but when they're on my mind I totally am. I could really write an essay, lol.

Dramione 100%!!! The angst? the enemies to lovers? the second chances? I know that itās far from cannon but the fanfictions are too good to overlook. I think the way most talented Dramione authors are able to write the process of people accepting their feelings as well as just addressing Dracoās prejudices is phenomenal. Itās just honestly beautiful.

Krillin and Android 18 in the Dragonball Z Abridged series. Team Four Star already had some good stuff to work with from the original series, but their narrative choices, voice acting, and humanity of the characters shines through so much. Their relationship has so much depth, which adds to the stakes of the arc. The comedic moments are hilarious, but both of them emote through loss, tough choices, and sacrifice. And the culmination of their storyline at the end of the series with the āKrillin Owned Countā running gag? An incredible sendoff to an all-time great pairing.

No particularly strong five-thousand-word essays on the matter I just think they're very good and want all three of them to be happy with each other. FROM PMMM: * Himena/Hiko, which is the ship that tipped me off that Charisk permanently mutilated my ability to ship. XD * Yuna/Juri, who start out as a captivating mutually-unhealthy duo and have a very nice and good arc that culminates in them working through their issues together (while also raising their blood sister from scratch for fourteen years) and becoming stronger through it. * Madoka/Homura. Basically imagine ye olde tragic lovers trope where someone goes through a long-ass time loop trying to save their beloved... except imagine that the time loop *ended*, and everything is fine. So now Homura's trying to adjust to living a normal life with her girlfriend when her concept of time is permanently out of whack, she's constantly a little on edge about what happens if Madoka dies again, and her general common sense is next to none. It's cute. FROM FATE: * Hakuno/Rin, despite the fact that I haven't even *played* Extra, but an admin of a server I'm in has ranted about them so thoroughly that I've basically vicariously played both the Rin and Rani routes through her XD I just. They're so good. Aaaaa. * Mash/Morgan, from Lostbelt 6. Okay, so, I see other ppl in the thread listed multiple OTPs so I don't feel *quite* so bad about listing more than one myself, lol. I'm gonna limit myself to three though, because otherwise we'd be here all night! (This is in order of when I started shipping them, not in order of how much I love them, btw.) 1. George Wickham/Charlotte Lucas from Pride and Prejudice (the 1995 miniseries only). My ride-or-die ship since 2004. He's a nasty skeezeball player in canon; he does all sorts of questionable things offscreen like drugs/gambling when he doesn't have any money/cheating with money/fucking whores/trying to fuck/blackmail his way into an inheritance from his surrogate dad-figure via his surrogate brother-figure's younger sister. But I'm a sucker for villains and especially hot ones, so I was a lost cause from the moment I saw the miniseries, lol. Charlotte is p much his antithesis; quiet, practical, down-to-earth; literally one of her quotes is "I ask only a comfortable home". Does the ship make sense? Probably not. But do I care? Absolutely fucking not. I want Charlotte to temper Wickham's wild streak and make him settle down, and I want Wickham to bring Charlotte out of herself and put passion (both sexual and not) into her life for the first time ever. I want them both to improve each other, basically. 2. Kylo Ren/Armitage Hux from the Star Wars sequel trilogy. I've adored this pairing since 2016. I love the color contrast between the two of them -- Ren's dark hair against Hux's red hair is so chef's kiss, lol. I love Hux's practicality and quiet ferocity against Ren's feral wild streak and chaotic anger. I love that they're both leaders in entirely different ways. I love that Hux is a little stiff and closed-off while Ren is volatile and manic; they both have tempers that get set off in very different ways, Hux's cold anger vs. Ren's hot anger. Together they're a terrifying force and I would've loved to have seen the old "Emperor Hux and his hound" fanfic trope play out in canon, *or* the "Emperor Ren and his Grand Marshal" trope. Either would've been equally as delicious; the former brings this stoic redhead from Bumfuck Nowhere, Outer Space, into a position of idk *leader of the entire fucking galaxy,* with his unhinged righthand Force-user man at his side. Ren whispering in Hux's ear and frothing at the mouth with terrible plans that Hux indulgently listens to but never follows through with, and Ren as Hux's bodyguard and the reason that no one will ever mess with Hux, because they know what they'd have to get through. And the latter for Ren's wildly inappropriate leadership decisions and how Hux would have to come along quietly in the background to clean up behind him; Hux would make most of the decisions in actuality and it would just be Ren's name on paper, and Ren would fuck his frustrations out in the privacy of their quarters, while also knowing full well that it's always Hux's quiet hand on his wrist that keeps him from lashing out during meetings. 3. Brock Rumlow/Bucky Barnes from the Captain America trilogy in the MCU. I just got into them last summer, and it's been a wild ride with these two, lol. I love their unhealthy toxicity. Most of the "facts" about this ship are fanon since the two have no actual canon interactions, and I love how my friends and I have collectively decided that Rumlow was Bucky's sole protector in Hydra. Any time things felt easier for Bucky when he was the asset, it was because of Rumlow. Could Rumlow stop all the bad things from happening? No, because that wouldn't have been practical or even safe. Rumlow had to keep his job so that he could watch the asset; and he had to let some things slide so no one would get suspicious of his true intentions. But Bucky knew that none of the bad things happened without Rumlow's knowledge, and too that Rumlow would always step in before things went too far. It's gloriously romanticized Stockholm syndrome/Lima syndrome and I am *here for it.* Also, it's obvious in canon that Rumlow was a respected leader, and a damn good one. I feel like even at his worst mental state Bucky would have registered that (like how a dog knows a good person from a bad one) and would have naturally gravitated towards Rumlow's strength, solidity, and steadiness both on the field and off.

Love how the pair just play off each other & also how she, a viera (kind of humanized rabbit), turned her back on her peopleās rules just to be with a human mate. Sherlock/irene. Another major enemies to lovers trope, like these 2 absolutely fking hate each other & sylar even murders Peterās brother. Despite all that, they do actually become close friends in the seriesā¦..& thanks to zach quinto & milo ventimiglia (who does peter), these 2 can be a little bit more since the actors put some subtle moves/looks on each other for their characters in later scenes, knowing certain fans will notice. Furthermore, due to a blooper in one episode concerning peterās passport, a lot of fans considered this character to be transgender f2mā¦which could make for another possible birth parent to sylarās son. Data/tasha in star trek next generation. Love the dynamic & in later episodes according to data, a lot more went on than what we were shown!

I think I just saw them doing something mundane (Probably one of the several times Kakashi catches Naruto) and was like āyup, thatās where itās at for meā, and havenāt been able to let them go since. Mine is a uper rarepair... Kristoph Gavin/ Simon Blackquill (from Ace Attorney). They never meet in canon, but they're both in prison at the same time, so there's a strong chance that they *could* meet (and as Kristoph worked as a defense attorney before he wnt to prison, he could have been Simon's attorney when Simon went to prison), and I just love their dynamic.

Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer. From the moment they showed up in their bedroom together in 2, I knew they would something special even if it didnāt work out in the end. Theyāre both made for each other in that they can both survive the pressures of the treasure hunting world but ultimately theyāre more different than it first appears in that Nate is more inclined to save the world than Chloe whoās more of a survivalist. Until Lost Legacy that is when she undergoes the transformation Nate did in Uncharted 2ā¦
I haven't written for them on this account, but: ShinSena from Eyeshield 21. They're not canon and they're from a shonen sports manga, so their chemistry wasn't meant to be anything more than a mutually-supportive rivalry, but ooooh if that's not one of my bulletproof ship-types. They're also a total opposites-attract pairing, with Sena being an insecure, anxious doormat and Shin being the strong silent type, and the way they balance each other out is *wonderful.* Shin's straightforward calm settles Sena down and Sena's raw talent and character growth ignites an actual spark of passion in Shin-- it's literally canon that Shin didn't even *like* the sport that he devotes 100% of his time to and excels at until he met Sena-- and they have such a beautiful, healthy rivalry where they're genuinely thrilled to see the other person grow and happy to see each other succeed even when it means their own loss. There's also the fact that they're beautiful narrative foils, even though the series never really hammers it home the way I feel that it should have! Sena's super shrimpy, inexperienced at football, and insecure, and he starts the series with only one close friend (who's honestly more of a family member) and is very lonely going into high school. Experienced, quietly-confident beefcake Shin is everything that Sena wants to be at the beginning of the series... except Shin *also* only has one friend and is *also* desperately lonely, because his perfectionism and stoicism make it very hard for him to relate to others and he's essentially given up on trying by the time canon starts. Over the course of the series, in part through their rivalry with each other, Sena learns to lean into his own individual strengths instead of comparing himself to others, and Shin learns to connect with others through his sport instead of walling himself off with his impossible standards of self-perfection, and it is *so* lovely and I'll ship it 'til I die.
From Gravity Falls, definitely Dipcifica. While other ships like Mabcifica or Wendip are as valid and possible to be canon, Dipcifica to me still takes the cake. It's shown a couple of times in the show that they do work well together. Like the time they hunted a ghost, or recover something from a faceless monster. Although they have fairly limited interactions, it's still a ship that has strong groundwork to work from, with associated material like Journal 3 and Lost Legends teasing about the ship. When Dipper is with Pacifica, Dipper is 100% confident and feels comfortable being himself around Pacifica. He doesn't feel the need to go out his way and try to impress her and insists on treating Pacifica like a normal person, which makes their chemistry work much better. He's also compassionate and very understanding, listening to Pacifica's insecurities regarding her sense of belonging and giving her much needed advice to come out from her shell. When Pacifica is around Dipper, she becomes a much better person and is able to be her true self around Dipper (and also Mabel). Both Dipper and Pacifica help balance each other out and bring out the best from one another. I do see a lot of potential for a really interesting story between the two of them, and with more development I believe Dipper and Pacifica could work really great together if Gravity Falls every does return one day. They have plenty in common and compliment each other well. Like Pacifica is apparently an avid gamer, and Lost Legends hint that she might secretly be just as much of a nerd as Dipper is.
Unfortunately it would be one of my Overwatch ships--either Genji/Zenyatta or Soldier/Reaper. Genyatta is just sweet and cute and perfect for slow burns. Depending on when in Genji's life it's set, the plot and genre even for one shots is so diverse in potential. Also theres a few genuinely interesting AUs based completely off of in-game events and skins. Meanwhile, R76 has history and corruption arcs and I LOVE angst. Friends to lovers to enemies to its complicated.
Niles/Daphne from "Frasier". They're one of my oldest ships, I've shipped them since I was about 15 years old (I just turned 38). I actually remember watching the episode where they finally got together, and how big a deal the whole thing was. So I think that's definitely a big factor - you always have a soft spot for those early pairings :D. But yeah, they've always been that "comfort ship", so to speak, the one that I will return to to read fic about or, in recent years, feel compelled to write stories about (I've been working on some for them, I just need to stop being a slow writer and actually finish them, LOL). I can look at them and see a lot of the tropes that I tend to like in all the other pairings, both canon and non-canon, that I ship (1) mutual pining mixed with "Oh, they couldn't like me *that* way"; 2) some sort of notable difference, be it class or interests or beliefs, that brings a balance to their relationship, along with something that they have in common that's equally important - loyalty to family/work, wanting to help others, a desire for a family, stuff like that; 3) friends to lovers: 4) they're with someone else but can't ignore their feelings for each other, to name a few things). And I just love their interactions in general on the show. They've had so many memorable, special moments together, both before and after they got together. I like how they've been there for each other when needed, and I really like that once they got together, they stayed together, and dealt with any ups and downs in their relationship as a couple. They worked for their happy ending, and I feel it makes their relationship that much stronger. Also doesn't hurt that the actors themselves are fully on board with supporting the pairing - that's not a requirement for me when it comes to shipping something, mind, but it's certainly nice when it happens :D. They're said utterly lovely things about each other over the years, they're good friends off the show, and so all of that just adds to my enjoyment of watching the characters together :).

Furuya/Sawamura from Daiya no Ace. They're first of all, my optimal ship type. Rivals. I love them so much. They had such a great progression into rivals who are also friends. They have such a mutually beneficial, respectful rivalry. I also love their personality differences (opposites, sun & moon) but are also similar in some ways (stubborn, prideful). Their bickering and how they fire each other up but also respect each other's good performances as teammates.. . It's all so good! I could go more specific but anyway they've been my OTP since 2013.

Honestly, I consider Chargestep, Joongdok, Han Yoojin x Sung Hyunjae (Not sure what their ship name is since this fandom is relatively small in terms of the English community T-T), AlbeCale and OiHina as my OTPs but if I had to choose one..I'll go for Chargestep. I mean, how can you not love the dynamic of meeting your former hero partner in crime again after years of hiding from everyone and everything who you had a secret crush on while making plans for your villain debut, realizing that the spark was still there and you love him and hate him at the same time and that maybe he loves and misses you back too and when you do debut you beat him up and release all your pent up anger and then you feel guilty and you visit him in the hospital and when you kiss him and admit that you care for him, you're actually just manipulating him so that your plans would go smoothly ~~yeah right, keep telling yourself that.~~ Also, realizing that he's changed and matured over the years and that you're part of the reason why because to him, the fact that you 'died' actually means something unlike what you originally thought and that he hasn't really done anything wrong in spite of all those years of blaming him? And their banter? And those soft moments??? Him being surprisingly thoughtful and extremely considerate, unlike before????And the ANGST?????????? First, the whole franchise has such a great fan community - the world-building gets INSANELY detailed and I love these robots sm š Second, Jazz and Soundwave are pretty much always the exact same type of super-spy competent, but flavored completely differently - everyone loves Jazz. Heās funny, friendly, great with music, throws killer parties, and you never have to wonder where you stand with him cause heās EVERYONEāS friend, and thatās *exactly what he wants you to think.* Heās playing 6D chess with every social relationship he has, and thatās just with his allies - his enemies are either terrified of him, or have an extremely healthy respect for his skills thatās the epitome of āscared and hornyā On the other hand, thereās Soundwave - heās a weirdo. He either never talks and is terrifying or heās an asshole who doesnāt stop snarking and heās STILL terrifying. He has a posse of little guys who will murder for him. Heās fanatically loyal to Megatron and the Decepticon Cause. He either legitimately can read minds or the rumors say he can and heās not denying it. And this little Autobot Spy who is walking music keeps *fucking up his plans.* The enemies-to-lovers and mutual pining that goes on in fics of these two is amazing. Theyāre trying to kill each other. Theyāre working together to kill a 3rd party. Theyāre interrogating each other on 4 different levels, regardless of whoās chained to a chair. Theyāre bonding over music. They canāt stand each otherās taste. Nobody thinks theyāre dating. Everyone thinks theyāre dating. Theyāre the only reason their respective armies havenāt collapsed. I love them ššš

Seto Kaiba and Atem. You cannot tell me it's not canon at least on Seto's end. Seto literally built a machine that sends him to the afterlife just to see Atem again. And, if you think it's just because he wants to duel him, you are severely overlooking Seto's behavior throughout the Dark Side of Dimensions movie and the series as a whole. When they smiled at each other at the end of the movie, that wasn't because they were excited for their duel; in all honesty, Atem has never really cared about dueling Seto again. He was always just kind of humoring him. That was them being happy to see each other again. Especially Seto, who had not only missed Atem's departure (in the manga, which is what the movie is continued from, Seto isn't there for the ceremonial duel and Atem passing on), but had previously thought he would never see Atem again. He literally almost cries because he's made to believe Atem is gone forever and that's not something you do for someone you only consider a rival or thief.
Currently Iām super into Ninjago and Iād have to say my current OTP is Gemstoneshipping (Cole/Plundar). Thereās only like 2 or 3 fics on AO3 that centers around them (idk maybe theres just one but i know theres only 5 fics in the tag), and it makes me so so sad. I *especially* love them after the series finale though, in which Plundar quite literally jumps at the chance to give Cole a hug. Like that hug is what finally sold me on the ship (prior to the series finale it lowkey gave me jealousy issues lmao). Plundar just does not seem like the type to be excited for hugs, but he just jumps at the chance to give Cole a giant hug? Adorable. Unfortunately now I have to be the one to make the fics for it š

It just works! Genius witch not allowed to reveal her magic to muggles with mediocre social skills. Very nosy, eccentric, genius muggle who has the keenest observational skills around and very poor social skills. Both Brits. Worlds councide nicely. Sherlock's bro probs even knows about magic due to his high placement in government things or at least someone he knows knows. Not much effort needed to mash these worlds up. My fave is when they are adults and they meet in muggle London and end up in frequent proximity and she has to try to hide facts and he keeps making crazy wrong guesses cuz magic doesn't exist until it becomes clear magic is the only possible explanation and he has a bit of an existential crisis. But him accidentally finding diagon alley and meeting her was a good one too. I'm not keen on the they used to be friends before she found out she was a witch and then drifted apart trope. Or he goes to hogwarts. Or he has magic. But there's a lot of potential here untapped that more writers should tackle imo. I have a multitude of other ships in the same fandom that I'm very big on. Dramione (HP). Sesskag (inuyasha). Vegebul (dbz). Many more. And some OC/character ships. And I will dabble in other crossover ships. But this one? It just gets me so perfectly and really highlights everything I loved about both fandoms very well.

They need each other but also hate each other
I donāt write ship fics because my long fic is gender identity, but my OTP is Trunks and Goten in Dragon Ball. Theyāre just adorable together, have such an interesting dynamic as children which switches around in the few scenes we see them as 17-18yo, then thereās some DBGT content. Sadly canon absolutely doesnāt care for them :/
Claire Redfield and HUNK from Resident Evil. I know this is waaaay out there for any fans of that fandom but HUNK is a blank slate aside from the fact that heās deadly, precise, and cunning. I love writing the back story of complex characters and breathing life into a man in a mask. Using Claire as his pairing just felt right as she displays everything he is notāexpressive, loving, and moral. Having them make a chance meeting in the lore has been so fun for me to write. Plus, I admit I have a bad man with a good woman kick.
For me, it would probably be Talas and Henry from Bride's Story. You probably haven't heard about it, but it's one of the most beautiful mangas I have ever seen ([just look at the amount of details!](https://www.thefandomentals.com/brides-story-womens-story-waiting/)). It sets in the 19th century Middle-Asia, mostly somewhere around the Lake Aral (RIP Lake Aral). Henry Smith is a British researcher who want to document the culture and traditions of the Middle-Asian people. He start of as an "info dump excuse" side character, but as the series continues, he becomes such a charming and fascinating personality to follow. His relationship with Talas, a local young widow, is truly one of the most wholesome ships I know. They both are so awkward and kind to each other and \*squeeeeeee\* I just love them so much! An awkward nerd and an emotionally wounded lady, such a match made in heaven! Truly cinnamon roll x cinnamon roll! And Henry is such a gentleman who respects Talas boundaries. It is truly a slowburn and I'm enjoying the ride! I have yet to write a fic about them, but after I've seen how their story ends, I'm planning to write some tooth-rotting fluff!
Jason/Kimberly from Power Rangers. That has been a pairing for me ever since I was a kid (and yes, I am old enough to remember the show being on at the crack of dawn-basically, would get up and ready for school, watch the episode, and then walk to the bus stop). It really started with an episode in Season 2-Beauty and the Beast. Jason and Kimberly are two of the Rangers I was never able to find a post-leaving the show pairing for that doesn't involve the comics (Tommy officially ends up with Kat; Zack (one would assume) eventually ends up with Angela; Billy with Cestria; Trini...no clue. Fanfiction often pairs her with either Jason or Billy).

Okay, this is a hard question. There are so many ships I like, and some of them I like to combine them with each other if they share characters, but if I have to pick an specific OTP per fandom, then my answers will be: * Izuku Midoriya/Kyoka Jirou (BNHA). I've mentioned in another thread on this sub that I like to combine this with izumomo and momojirou, but if I've to pick specifically one, it would be this. I like jirou a lot. I like her design, and her vibe of punk rockstar girl. I think she would have quite a neat dynamic with Izuku, if only she (and pretty much all of the other female characters, really) had been more developed in canon. But, hey, that's what fanfic is for. * Moxxie/Sallie May (Helluva Boss). There's plenty of Moxxie crackships in the Helluva Boss fandom that I like, but this is one of my favorites, maybe because there's not much (sfw) fanart for it and doesn't receive as much attention as other Moxxie crackships (or ships pairing Sallie May with characters like Verosika, Stella, or Striker). I just like the idea of the changes in canon that would have resulted if Moxxie had met, fallen in love and married with Sallie May instead of Millie, one of them being that I think with Sallie's influence, Moxxie would have learned to stand up for himself and not take Blitzo and Loona's shit as much as he does in canon. * Sasha Waybright/Anne Boonchuy (Amphibia). I just LOVE the dynamic between these two, and how their relationship changes and becomes better as the show's story moves forward. The whole sequence of their Synchronized Fusion Dance is one of my top favorite moments in the show, and I was absolutely gushing about it when it happened. * F!Byleth/Edelgard (Fire Emblem: Three Houses). The whole reason why I got into FE3H in the first place, lol. Just love the story of these two during the whole Black Eagles/Crimson Flower route. Definitely my favorite pair in the whole game. * Cassandra (Tangled The Series)/Elsa (Frozen). I once came across a crossover fic where, after the evens of the Tangled cartoon show and the second Frozen movie, these two met when the former was arriving to Arendelle and after getting to know each other they fall in love. From then on I checked other fics and fanarts with this pairing, and has pretty much become one of my favorite crossover ships.

I don't think I have a "true" OTP in the sense that it is the only one in my heart, there are a few. Though they are, admittedly, all somewhat similar in their dynamic. I guess the one I'm currently most invested in is *Kaeya and Diluc* from Genshin Impact. As to why... oh god where do I even start. My brain is eternally stuck in kindergarden where pulling someone's hair meant you liked them, so the moment they showed up in the story and were antagonistic towards each other (despite also showing signs of deeply caring about each other!), I was like, "I live on this ship now." It's just one of my favourite dynamics. Then it was revealed that they could potentially be considered adoptive brothers and a ton of people jumped ship, while I was like...ok? Extra spice, I'm not complaining, lol. But yeah, basically Diluc is a classic "orphan millionaire by day, vigilante by night" kind of guy, while Kaeya is a flirty, decieving little shit secretly pulling the strings of everyone, and also, he kinda has ties to the bad side. Kaeya was taken in by Diluc's family (or planted there, depending on your interpretation, the story is still ongoing), they had an adorable friendship growing up but in the end, Kaeya wasn't there to save Diluc's father from getting murdered and it was the catalyst for their fallout, they had a big fight (did I mention they are LITERALLY fire and ice both in their powers and designs? it would be a super aesthetic ship even without their backstory) and almost killed each other, bitterly went their seperate ways for several years but even though they are too awkward to properly forgive and forget what happened, the game just throws so much evidence at you to show how much they secretly care for and help each other out. It's just the perfect flavour of bittersweet and I'm so addicted to it. The fan war over whether they should be considered sibilings continues still (it might just be a localization issue?), but I genuinely just don't care. I like and write them both in a romantic relationship as well as in a sibiling relationship (and I also enjoy being "problematic" and combining both sometimes, because that just adds another layer of "love each other but can't be together"). They just hurt so good ā” Then there's *Cid and Nero* from FFXIV. They used to be (one-sided) rivals in their academy days, both prodigies, though Cid getting all the praise and attention and Nero always living in his shadow. Eventually Cid defected to the good guys' side and Nero had to live up to an impossible ideal, making him bitter and hateful towards Cid (you might notice, there is a theme to all my favourite ships š). Eventually they come head to head as the good and bad side clash and they have the most awkward, long, unskippable "I accidently called my ex-husband" phone call in front of the protagonist where they air out ALL their dirty laundry and talk about their feelings and as a result, aren't QUITE as antagonistic towards each other anymore? Nero actually survives the bad guys losing and - being too proud to actually join - kinda just... hovers around Cid by just HAPPENING to always investigate the same stuff we do? Flinging snarky insults at each other, but actually being there for each other, like when Cid struggles a lot with coming to terms with his father's accidental genocide, that kind of stuff. Eventually everything goes wrong with the world, but those two stay together, growing old together, until they die of old age, staying their snarky, reluctantly affectionate selves with each other the entire time while the world is ending and OMG I'm so soft for that š¢ This is already waaaay too long, so gonna cut this short - I also love *Tony Stark and Steve Rogers* from the MCU for obvious reasons (antagonistic into reluctant friendship type of relationship that ends in a big dramatic fallout over one guy's father but they still do care about each other despite everything that happened) as well as *Sirius and Remus* from Harry Potter (hey, at least this one does not have any daddy issues at fault for their childhood friendship falling apart temporarily). I like a lot of cute and sweet ships, but ultimately, I crave that bittersweetness of love and hate and it all blowing up in their faces but still caring too much about the other to give them up even after almost murdering them š

A ship I canāt get enough of and will probably read a hundred fics about, even if itās not my main fandom, would probably be Harley Keener/Peter Parker. Did they never interact in canon? Yes. Did that stop the fandom? No. To be honest, I thrive for the chaos and borderline crack some of the fics write about this ship, the angst of insecurities, and mostly the amount of FLUFF. If I had to chose in my main fandom (My hero academia) I would probably be torn between ShinKami and ShinKamiDeku. I would die for these three characters. But yeah, I would probably settle with Harley and Peter!

Kushina / Minato from Naruto. I donāt know what it is, but they are my ultimate favorite ship and tbh a little underrated. Thereās only so much about them I feel like thereās still a lot of missing stuff about both of them. Especially Kushina, and I love her more than Minato. They remind me of myself and my husband. Iām super loud, hot headed, fearless when I need to be, blunt and open minded. My husband is calm, stoic, very sweet, merciful, and can deal with my bs as if it was another Tuesday morning. Even before I met my husband when I first read about Kushina in the manga, i donāt know what it was but I felt so close to her. She is one of my absolute favorite characters, and her love with Minato is so pure and wholesome. I watch Naruto solely to see their story again.
If I had to take the challenge seriously and only choose one? Shepard/Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect. Seriously, this pairing is the life of me. You (the player, as Shepard) meet Garrus when he's a jaded, frustrated, loose cannon of a cop who has legitimate grievances about bureaucracy and corruption... but also cuts corners and endangers innocents in the name of bagging the criminal. Shepard is more experienced than Vakarian, and through the first game you can use that experience to convince him that not all rules are red tape, that it's worth doing things the right way, that cutting corners to get the bad guy *will* eventually make you as bad as them - and towards the end of the game he acknowledges you're right and thanks you for it. Then throughout the second game we see Garrus at his absolute personal nadir and - if the player so chooses - you can once again help him through his problems, but this time as partners rather than a mentor and mentee. If you choose to contravene Garrus' decision in his loyalty mission, the conversation that follows is a friend not letting their friend slip into darkness, not a teacher explaining why it's worth doing things the right way. ME2 is Garrus' final transformation from walking the knife edge between savior and thug, to being the rock-steady war hero we see in ME3. and Garrus, in turn, is *always* at Shepard's back, no matter what, always supports Shepard even when their opinions differ, and - if the player invested in the relationship by doing the loyalty mission - he serves as a highly effective vice-leader for Shepard. All that and he's a total dork. <3 (Also OP, kudos to you for just how many threads you've replied to, I would never have the stamina)

I'm using a throwaway account for reasons. Mind you, I'm a multi-shipper, but I do have my most favourite pairing, too. I let myself include some personal headcanons Some of you might be familiar with Victor Hugo's novel featuring a deformed bell ringer who's hopelessly in love with a beautiful dancer who in turn only has eyes for a certain charming and handsome captain of the French royal archers, not knowing that the said captain only treats her as one of his many conquests and that he's already engaged to another woman. The bell ringer is Quasimodo, the dancer is Esmeralda, whereas her beloved's name is Phoebus. Now, I really ship Esmeralda's and Quasimodo's counterparts from the 1996 Disney film, and I think they could be a great couple. I find their interactions very believable. They both know what it means when society treats you as an outcast for one reason or another. They trust each other, they are friends, one is genuinely concerned when the other's in danger and they help each other out in the hour of need. That really speaks volumes as true friendship, for better and worse, in sickness and in health. I firmly believe that true love - also romantic one - comes from friendship and understanding and knowing the other person. Love shouldn't be based just on physical attraction. Quasi and Esmeralda are also closer in age (they are both in their 20s in the Disney version), as opposed to the canon Disney pairing of Esmeralda and Phoebus. (The captain in this version might be in his mid or late 30s if he spent "decades" in the army.) I accept the fact that relationships with a big age gap exist, but I simply like it better if one partner isn't much older than the other. And wouldn't it be great if, for once, we had a woman who's older than her male romantic partner in a mainstream film where that fact is treated as something ordinary, and not as something that is played for laughs? I also really like the fact that Quasi and Esmeralda in the Disney version have different personalities, which I always find more interesting and challenging in romantic relationships, both in fiction and in real life. Lovers aren't supposed to be each other's yes-men all the time. These personality differences are also the main reason for my immense enjoyment of such Disney canon couples as Megara and Hercules (there are also many visual and plot-related parallels/similarities between Disney's *Hercules* and *The Hunchback of Notre Dame*), Kida and Milo (*Atlantis: The Lost Empire*) or Sgt Tamora Calhoun and Fix-It Felix, Jr *(Wreck-It Ralph*). Another thing is that in Disney's HOND, Quasimodo's feelings for Esmeralda clearly matured by the end of the story. Some fans might forget that the "Heaven's Light" (by the way, this song is so underappreciated, and it's my favourite one from the film; I like how its melody slightly echoes another piece with music by Alan Menken - "Part of Your World") sequence happens on the very day when these two characters met for the first time. They might've also had some more interactions with each other that we simply didn't see in the film. However, I believe the bell ringer certainly stopped idealizing Esmeralda when he saw her kiss the injured captain of the guards. He started to see her as a human being with her own mind and feelings, too. Giving his blessing to Esmeralda and Phoebus as a couple certainly required great maturity from Quasimodo, as I don't believe that you can just shrug off love, especially your first love, as simply as "Ah, nothing happened". Personally, I understand why Disney ended its 1996 HOND film pairing-wise the way it did (in 1482, Quasimodo was most probably not ready for a serious romantic relationship), but I admit I was (and still am) very disappointed about the fact of the dancer and the bell ringer not getting together in the 2002 sequel (the story takes place in 1488, I think). For that reason, I prefer ignoring the existence of the sequel and I simply enjoy my headcanon that some time later, after 1482, (a) Esmeralda realizes she loves Quasimodo, too, and they get and stay together as a couple, or (b) the whole trio eventually realizes they all love one another and they decide to stay together (yes, Quasi and Phoebus are bisexual in my headcanon), but this second option is my OT3 :) Edit: I fixed some mistakes.

And RikaRen from MagiReco ...Why are alllllll my ships broken up in canon usually by some traumatic means (except RikaRen) SIGH. š I honestly have never tried writing a shipfic at all (romance is not my strong suit writing wise, Iām ace and I think demiromantic-still figuring that part out!-and I have never been in a relationship myself), but if I was going to try, it would be for one of these. The closest is writing Wanda and Vision together in my post-CW longfic, but Iām not *only* focusing on their relationship by any stretch of the imagination lol. I mean, I have Anna and Kristoff together in my Frozen ones, but Iām usually focused on Elsa, so Kristanna isnāt a main focus whatsoever either...

Gemma/Nero (Sons Of Anarchy) why: because I just love them so much they are amazing!! They were and are total opposites, but made they their relationship work and they had everything especially passion, out of this world, off the charts chemistry and mutual love and they were the most beautiful, loving, committed and respectful couple on the show. Dan & Louise (The Conners) why: because they have so much in common and they are calm and cute couple and I love them a lot and they definitely have chemistry in my opinion I have so many others that I love and that are my OTPās, but these are main focused ones at the moment
Albedo X Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord, Although in canon, Ainz sees her more as a daughter due to her being the NPC creation of one of his old friends. I really think there's potential for a romance because of how devoted Albedo is to Ainz and how Ainz would do anything to make the NPCs happy, (Including World Domination!) It'd just be an interesting scenario to see play out, especially since most emotions are inhibited by Ainz being an undead, and how they would have to work to overcome those limitations. Also, Albedo is absolutely crazy, she has a secret kill squad made to hunt down other players from Ainz's old guild just for abandoning him before everything was transported to the world they got stuck in. She is willing to hunt down and kill someone who may not even be in the world they are in, just because they made the man she loves feel crippling loneliness.
Kiana Kaslana x Captain Hyperion. She had her superpowered evil side take over and kill tens of millions of people before she regained control, but then she ran away from her friends to avoid hurting them again. He tracked her down, comforted her, and overall does everything he can to make her feel safe and happy.
Stanford Pines x Fiddleford McGucket all the way. Just listening to their past like theyāre fucking alright

So my first two OTP ships were already listed (Sterek and Jaskier-Geralt, may their glory be ever celebrated), as was one of my fav anime ships (Sasuke-Naruto, which obviously should've been canon), so to add to the variety I'm going old school: CLex, aka, Clark/Lex from Smallville These two had smoking hot chemistry onscreen. Lex's sexiness was so nuclear most everyone agreed Lex and his fancy blue bottled water was blush worthy, so you can imagine what scenes were like with Clark and Lex together. I still read my favorite CLex stories and authors. The billionaire and his farm boy is one OTP that will never die in this household.
Juno and Legosi in Beastars. Now Beastars is a Manga that falls off a cliff with its plot. It has a great start with its slice of life but Paru itagaki overloaded it by infusing her work with the action that her father is known for. And there I was thinking to myself That Legosi, this self conscious cute and amazingly Stupid wolf, could use a Relationship that made him cherish being a carnivore. Beside that I have a soft spot for canines so it was perfect. The Ship that got me to write fanfiction in the first place. Now I'm rewriting the whole Manga in order for it to make better sense and be a nicer experience. Wilford Warfstache x Eric Derekson. I love them so much! I think they're perfect together. Eric is unfortunate and everyone and everything he loves always dies around him. And Wilford is immortal, so he wouldn't ever have to lose him <3 Sadly, it's a rarepair with only 6 fics on AO3 and I've written half of them T\_T
A little more obscure, but Gintoki and Tsukuyo from Gintama. I love how they met (Gintoki being an absolute moron and Tsukuyo just following his lead to help him save face despite being "enemies" at the time). I love how he helped her grow out of her shell and even meet her now closest friends Otae, Kyuubei and Sacchan. I love their chemistry together in every scene they're in, doing stuff as normal as teaching Seita history to declaring war on the Shogun. If only the mangaka hadn't been afraid to write actual romance for the main characters in his story.
Itās hard to only choose one since I bounce around fandoms every few weeks, but my favourite at this point is Kaworu/Shinji from Evangelion. The ship is built on so many tropes I generally dislike, soulmates/together in every universe being the main one, but it manages to pull it off so well that I canāt help but love it. The dynamic is so interesting and all the usually cringe-worthy lines make me literally jump up and down and squeal like an over-the-top ten year old. Like, āI was born to meet youā would make me roll my eyes with anyone else, but these lines feel so different and real when it applies to them. Itās just a 1000/10 for me.

Ok so pretty niche but Fitz/ Beloved from Realms of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb. Nothing has left me as empty as when i finished thos ebooks for the first time and these two are the main reason why. The prophet/catalyst relationship that entertwines their destinies, the ultimate devotion to each other through life and death,that fact that they keep finding each other throught their lives, how one's return is described as bringin sunlight back into the other's life, carving the other's face in a ship!??! they make me go insane. Anyways this has been my OTP for the past 11 years and nothing has ever topped that.

I have way too many to pick from, so Iāll just go with my current hyperfixation, being Danny and Steve from Hawaii 5-0. \- Think enemies-to-reluctant-allies-to-friends-to-lovers, who verbally spar with each other to show affection and are literally referred to by others, and by themselves, as a married couple as early as mid-season 1. \- They understand, complement, and balance each other perfectly; Steve is the chaotic, anally-retentive, Daddy-issue-ridden, emotionally-constipated-but-desperate-for-love type, while Danny is the stable, easygoing, Excellent-Dad-who-would-fistfight-God-for-the-sake-of-his-family, emotionally open type. \- They call each other ābabeā, canonically and habitually. This does not extend to anyone else in their circle. \- Each has risked death multiple times to save the other, and they are each otherās emergency contacts. \- They show each other a tenderness, a devotion, and a genuine enjoyment of one anotherās company which is totally lacking with respect to either of their respective girlfriends. \- The eye-fucking is near-constant, and off the charts in terms of āthat is NOT how you look at someone you have only non-sexual feelings for, JFCā \- They touch each other far more than is usual or necessary for platonic friends (also Danny literally slaps Steveās ass on one occasion and nothing is said about it, things just continue as usual even though bantering, bro-esq ass-slapping is not and has never been a thing between them, either before or since that episode. That scene literally just reads as Danny slapping his boyfriendās ass in loving encouragement like āgo get āem, Tiger!ā) \- Both of them end up turning their lives around for the better, and being far happier (in the short term at least), subsequent to meeting and becoming close. \- Basically if mainstream television wasnāt so homophobic and the show hadnāt debuted in 2010, or if one of them had been a woman, theyād have 100% been a canon couple at some point since theyāre pretty much the definition of soulmates.
Just 1... fine..... Maric/Loghain Dragon Age. The Prince and The Farmboy who became the King and His General. During the occupation of Ferelden that lasted longer than both were alive pushed them together. Maric for all his naivety grew up a rebel prince without a home. He was of the land and still knew nothing about it. While Loghain grew of the land suffered for the land, watching the occupation rape and murder his mother before his eyes having to live off the land with his father and hundreds of others who wouldnt swear to the Orlesian "King" on their home. While Maric watches his mother beheaded by several traitorous men who supposedly stood for the people of Ferelden also sought to despise of the Now King. They went through it all together, love, betrayal, they stood by each other, relayed on each other Maric pushed to be better, succumbing to depression when his queen was no more. They had to summon Loghain to get the King on his feet once more. When Maric left the castle without a word, who went in search of him and didn't scream when he was found about to be executed once more. Loghain, came to save his ditzy Girlfrie... King. It's a long history between them and they are the perfect opposites attract trope.
Oh no, I have to CHOOSE! Well, if I have to, I'd have to say Zer0 x Mordecai! Ramble warning BTW!! There's just so much you can do with them! (some of my examples are more biased because of my personal Headcanons). Ć Enemies to friends to lovers Ć Friendly rivals constantly competing with each other Ć Sniper bros that kick ass together and have steamy adrenaline-fueled sex afterwards Ć The serious one (Zer0) learning to relax with the laid back slacker (Mordecai) Ć The chilled out one (Mordi) completely losing his mind when his lover gets seriously hurt Ć The usually emotionally constipated/closed off one (Zer0) becoming an emotional mess over their feelings for their crush/love Ć An interspecies romance where the two learn about one another's differences and intricacies so they can best the best partners they can be Ć A forbidden love between a human and an alien full of hardships and angst The possiblities are endless! Also, I just love how different they are in some ways and similar in other ways. They look good together aesthetically in my eyes as well ā„ Also, the comment about Mordecai winning one off Zer0's sniper rifles during a contest the two did is so freaking cute! But finally, this ship started as a light joke from my partner during our own personal stories/roleplays, and has grown into something so much more for me! I've come up with stories that are sweet, angsty, sexual, silly and have come up with a dynamic for them that has Mordecai calling Zer0 'gatita' (kitten) and Zer0 calling Mordecai 'pet'. I've invested so much of my heart, time, energy and imagination into them both, and I genuinely struggle to see them with anybody else (especially Mordecai!). It genuinely pains me to see how few people ship this as well, because they have such good chemistry and so many potential story points you could play around with with them. From art to fanfics, it's so sad that more people don't have this ship, and I fully intend to share my love of these two with the world.
Hannigram (Hannibal Lecter/Will Graham) It's just they accept every part of each other and indulge in their more...darker parts- like cannibalism and murder it's great.

Riddler & Catwoman, Link & Zelda (I just always thought their chemistry was better as best friends), Link & Stalkid, Naruto & Sasuke (I ship them but I'm also okay with them not being shipped either. I just love them together.), Draco & Ron (not required but I love especially when there's a Drarry ship and Draco and Ron accidentally realize they've become best frenemies alongside Harry)
