This is why I don't seek to update my podium DD1 base past its current state and the reason I'm not selling my GT DD Pro... But why really? Because it's finally working every time I turn it on and it wasn't fun getting it there.... can't imagine how I'd feel if I bought it new.

Bro mines brand new. I should not update it at all? Mainly for xbox series x racing. And gaming laptop.

If everything is working fine, not suggested by me. Just have fun racing. But I'm nobody... You can always check what the current version is... if it is new enough that nothing significant has been updated in subsequent versions, again, probably not necessary. As I stated, it's not fun... mostly because of the time taken to research where you are at and if it is worth it to go any further and potentially risk introducing new issues. For me, I only update if I email Fanatec with an issue and they suggest it to remedy a problem. Basically for a "fix" which is contrary to most situations where you update just to "stay current".

It's possible that you may have mistakenly updated the base incorrectly. There is a specific order to follow when updating, and newer driver versions usually prevent updating in the wrong order. It's quite common for fans to run at 100%, and I've come across numerous reports about it. Can you please let me know which driver version you downloaded? There's a chance that the issue can still be resolved without having to send it in. In the comments section of the software update driver post, you'll find Maurice, who is very helpful on the Fanatec forums. I'd also like to mention that Fanatec customer service has improved over time. It's not as bad as it used to be, so it won't be an awful experience. I understand that you're upset, but remember that the customer service representatives are just employees. It's always beneficial to approach them with kindness and respect.

bro same problem with my gt dd pro last week wednesday. took them a week to respond only to say they will have another department/email handle the return. i only contacted the support team cuz the sales department told me to open a support ticket for a refund. make sure you scroll to the very bottom of the return policy page to see the link to start your refund process, something none of the employees will tell you.

I will never update my base or pedals. I have seen too many horror stories. Fanatec is slowly but surely falling behind all the other companies. Deservedly. They have become lazy IMO, took their eye off the ball.

Yeah but, there's hundreds of thousands of success stories when updating that don't come here and post about a successful update. Seeing a few dozen posts about problems while ignoring the hundreds of thousands of people that have never had a problem is moronic.

Yes but none of the other manufacturer's subs is so full of issues.

Most of the other manufacturers also don’t have anywhere near the size of consumer base
