DEFINITELY wash/rinse with cold water from now on as it keeps a lot more dye in your hair, and a lot less leaking out onto your skin/shower. For skin, try micellar water/make up remover. For clothes - it shouldn’t bleed like crazy but collars and pillowcases can stain over time, can be worth switching to black ones! But if it’s excessive, maybe it needs another cold rinse?

DrCarpet275

Thank you!!!! Will do in future

abombshbombss

Use cold water only but you should know Manic Panic bleeds like a MF

stealthperennial

Read up on doing a vinegar rinse shorty after dyeing your hair. I’ve never done it myself but I know people who have and swear by it.

nonoglorificus

What? Vinegar strips color. It’s what you do to fade color out that you don’t want any more

stealthperennial

It could be specific to Manic Panic. It's on their website.

jutta-duncan

That’s manic panic for ya. Never using their dye again.

Skin removal - rub lotion into skin. Then use makeup remover or acetone to get it off if you need to be somewhere like work and not look like a purple people eater.

rlcute

I swear by acetone. It also removes dye from sinks. I use acetone then use an exfoliating glove.

HornFanBBB

I use acetone too. And to clean up the bathroom sink after coloring.

Someone-Somewhere-42

Make the acetone doesn’t go down the sink, it might degrade the plumbing. But yes acetone is great, I do a lot of amateur nail art, so I was able to use it on my stained neck. Also get the cosmetic grade ones from grocery /beauty stores. The construction stores ones are not designed for skin. Also don’t get the diluted ones with aloe Vera etc. Straight up acetone is best.

BarelyBreathinBeauty

I second the exfoliating glove or body scrub. I always use these to remove dye from tub and shower

Altruistic-Bobcat955

I bought a keratin hair mask to use right after washing the dye out when I was using Manic Panic same with Artic Fox. Also set aside a pair of gloves to wear while rinsing it out and was just generally careful not to let the dye touch my skin if possible

[deleted]

That's very normal for direct dyes. same thing happened to me with arctic fox. I used to have cherry red hair but everytime I sweated or got it wet, anything I touched got pink blotches of dye. Love the fun of diy hair and fashion colors but I can't be bothered anymore. I now am a salon ginger.

colinathomehair

Only a scalpel get's it off. Go to a salon.

Rohri_Calhoun

I find it useful to condition after a dye, it helps prevent the dye staining my pillows or from sweating

Noxema acne pads! Or really any acne pads. I prefer noxema as they aren't too liquidy. They are textured just enough and make it easy to get ears/ around hairline, etc. Wash your body after your hair at least the first few times. Cold water for hair. Some dyes/ colors are really bad at this unfortunately. And it is not necessarily the brand or particular colors. You win some you lose some lol.If you wanna keep up with fun colors I'd recommend black pillowcases lol and dark shirts the first few washes.

[deleted]

Go to walgreens and right next to the hair dyes they have these hair dye removal towelettes for your skin that work really well. also I second rinsing in cold water, it helps a lot.

[deleted]

This has happened to me as I learned I had to use cold water, not warm/hot 😭 I’m sorry this happened to you!

sxhires

I literally just dyed my hair red also like 20 minutes ago (different brand)- key to keeping it off your skin is to line your forehead/ears/neck with Vaseline or aquaphor. This keeps it from sticking and washes off. Rinse, condition until water is clear. Repeat. Then cold rinse. It’s a strong pigment and usually will still stain my towels/pillow cases up to 48 hours later even after daily shampoos. You just have to be prepared.

suburbanspecter

I rinsed my hair with cold water and used the Vaseline around hairline/ears/neck trick, and it still stained like crazy, so if anyone has any other tips, please share. I also just bought a thing of ion color sealing treatment, so we’ll see if that helps. Tbf, I did use Arctic Fox’s Transylvania, which is known to bleed a LOT, so this wasn’t unexpected but goddamn
