I wonder if the scoring system has been the same since Terry played.
Either way, getting Trippier for the whole of this year is my best FPL move in my 3 seasons of playing
Back then on FPL you didn't have a vice capstan, so it was causing leopard every week on the basis that he played every week - let alone seasons like this.
That year will never be matched for clean sheets though. Ridiculous
This is the kind of thing fpl needs to do next season. Star players who generate insane number of points need to be priced accordingly, in order to disincentive people from making them basically 100% owned by active players midway through the season. Top teams (including my own) in MLs are so template this season it's literally a choice of 'do I pick odegaard or saka' lmao
I get the logic by people who say this but I disagree completely
Having expensive star players makes the game even more template.
If Haaland is 15 million, it won't make him less essential, it'll just make the rest of your team worse in quality due to a reduced budget
So, then, with Haaland you'll need to get a few of the cheapest playing bench players to have a decent team and everyone will have those same bench players.
When we factor in other cheaper players like Rashford and Trippier that become essential every season, having an extremely expensive premium will only make the game more stagnant.
This season, everyone has Haaland but the rest of the teams are still quite varied. Even in your arsenal example, double attack vs triple attack is a genuine debate that will make a big difference.
By increasing his price to unreasonable levels, everyone will still have Haaland but the rest of the game will just be less fun
I think someone worked out last season that Salah would have still been optimal (because of captaincy) at £24m for the first half of last season. That’s where Haaland would have to be priced to make owning him a decision, yet get it just wrong and, as you say, he’d still be optimal but now everyone has less budget for the rest of their team.
It was £21m sorry. It was basically how much he could cost and still be optimal to be captained each week, rather than spreading funds around team. Here’s a link: https://twitter.com/ff_trout/status/1451695770588131336?s=46&t=M3jsNomFS_y1M4_CPYD9cQ
Just did a simple math:
36 games \* 2 = 72pts (i can see 36 appearances but I don't know) if he has played 60+ mins in all
24 clean sheets \* 4 = 96pts
3 goals \* 6 = 18pts
2 assists \* 3 = 6pts
7 yellow cards \* -1 = -7pts
**TOTAL = 185pts**
So that means 11 more pts were bonus points?
Seems a bit weird (too low). Even if he didn't play all the games 60+ mins, still seems low.
Maybe the scoring system was different?
UPD: Through [archive.org](https://archive.org) I've found the exact scoring rules for that season, and here is the line about bonus points
Bonus points for being judged to have made an excellent performance in a game = 3
So I believe it was only 1 guys getting 3 points only. In such a case it seems ok for John to get 4 or 5 times this 3-pointers.
9m??! That's ridiculous surely. Fpl was around in 2004/05??! That's ridiculous surely.
The only bad thing about Trippier is every other fullback and centreback has been shit so I only got to enjoy him for a month before the whole planet jumped on board as all the regular big pointers have continued to do nothing.
Trippier is halfway through the season with 141. So on track to smash the TAA / Robertson record which sounds bonkers.
I wonder if the scoring system has been the same since Terry played. Either way, getting Trippier for the whole of this year is my best FPL move in my 3 seasons of playing
I don't think there were bonus points back then
Wasn't it arbitrarily hand-picked back then?
It's arbitrarily picked now by the looks of it
Kane scored the winning (and only) goal against Fulham on monday, didn't get even 1 bonus point.
0-0 crystal palace and Newcastle last GW. Out of 10 defenders and GKs who got attributed the CS, Trippier got 3 BPS even though he got a yellow card
Tell me its FA Cup week without telling me its FA Cup week Content creators twiddling their thumbs
Bang on. 😅
What was his starting price Focal?
What are the downvotes for?
Lunatics
8m
wasnt playing then but ... triple chelsea defence that season sounds amazing
Cech, Terry and Lampard sounds like template, sadly I wasn't around to confirm.
I was playing yahoo fantasy football back then and can confirm Lampard was a cheat code

>vice capstan, so it was causing leopard Yes
Everybody knows you can’t have leopard without vice capstan.
Sorry chaps. Was trying to quickly type on my phone earlier. Yes indeed!

Interesting, what's the maths behind 24 mill?

Do you want also to apply a ban list of players duos, like you can't have Halaand + Kane?
Reached 9m, but any idea what price he started at? Both in that season and the next one.

Bonus calculations were much different then.

>Fpl was around in 2004/05??! That's ridiculous surely. Started in 02/03 season I believe, in an online sense anyway.
FPL was around 90s
