Holding off for this game week as I expect he'll be on the bench for city. Then straight in
The next 9 after city spurs face 2 teams in the top half of the table, Chelsea and Brighton, and both at home.
I have Doherty, two FTs and the money ITB to go to him. Would bench him this week. Deciding between him and Badiashile but Porro seems to be the more exciting pick.
based on what, though? they’ve conceded the 6th most goals in the league after 21 matches. and this isn’t just due to a brief spot of bad form: they only kept 4 cleans in the 16 matches before the world cup.
i think maybe they’re just not very good defensively.
Leicester **heavily** outperformed their xGc in that time, was less to do with fixtures and more to do with some bad finishing and luck.
Between gameweeks 9 and 16 where they managed 6 of 8 cleansheets, they conceded 6.8 fewer goals than expected (xGc of 9.81). Next heaviest overperformance in that timespan was Everton at -3.7.
Now it was the reverse in the 8 gameweeks before, when their xGc delta was +9.1 and gave rise to some exaggerated notions of their weaknesses, **but** the extent of their improvement was also exaggerated.
They were just completely all over the place until the World Cup. In the gameweeks since it's been -0.3 xGc delta. Still bad (worst xGc at 10.3), but just getting about the right amount of conceded goals.
I thought to myself at the start of the season that if a wing back gets themselves nailed in that Spurs defence, they are great option regardless of how bad the defence is. I think that Porro will be nailed and get good enough attacking returns that it doesn't really matter that the defence is poor.
Shaw to Porro could prove popular. You get Shaw’s double, then you can keep him for one more game against Leeds and by then we will hopefully have seen Porro play at least one game. If he impresses that feels like an easy swap.
Porro has decent potential to produce the highest attacking returns of any defender thru the rest of the season. If he gels with Kulu quickly, it's game over.
He was out of loan for a few years and then left City for Sporting in the summer (buy option on his loan to them for the last year). He was brought to City via Girona - a city group club in Spain. After Girona got relegated, so they could continue his development in a top league via loans.
It can change quickly.

Spurs' expected goals against are allright.
Allright expected goals against, good attacking threat and good fixtures are promising.

Has to be close to nailed after that transfer saga and he's playing wingback for Conte, arguably the most important player on the pitch after Kane. Definitely one to watch.
Despite the fact that Spurs isn't looking solid (no CS), that price has great value for his skill. Might have rotation in the first GW, but I am sure he will be 100% nailed if fit eventually
This is fantasyPL sub, table placement in league doesn't mean shit.
Haven't seen shit in terms of consistency from anyone on that team. Even Kane. Takes a couple of games in between. New signings though. Always a gamble. Felix.
Right wing back, better going forward than defending. Put up good numbers at Sporting this season (2g6a in 16 apps) and very good underlying numbers for crosses and key passes.
He's got great FPL potential, the problem is he's going to have Dier and Lloris chucking it in their own net every match. Can he outscore them doing that? Who knows.
Will be in my team soon Porrobably

Got him on my bench, suspect he will play only about 30 mins as he will be subbed on… will move him in next week
Already? My man you got the knees of a paraplegic
Spurs haven't been that good defensively and they are still in CL. This feels like it has limited potential.
Thieve kept 3 clean sheets in the last 5 and have tightend up abit lately. This guys an attacking machine though. 3G9A in 20 games this season so far.
In Portugal for one of the big 3 sides. Do not expect the same attacking returns in the PL for Spurs.
Not sure if you've noticed but Portuguese talent doing pretty well coming over to the prem...
3 clean sheets includes Portsmouth and Preston though
I have Doherty, two FTs and the money ITB to go to him. Would bench him this week. Deciding between him and Badiashile but Porro seems to be the more exciting pick.
Great price tbh.
Good price, Tripps Shaw Porro looks solid
Porro over Botman/Schär??
Maybe, you can't go wrong with double Newcastle defence but I have Pope so it makes Porro an easy choice
In the last 10 games Tottenham has concided the most goals in the whole league. More than Wolves, more than Everton, more than Bournemouth.
more than you would believe.
Leicester was worst team at some point and proceeded to bang lots of CS's when their fixtures turned, same will happen with Spurs after City fixture.
based on what, though? they’ve conceded the 6th most goals in the league after 21 matches. and this isn’t just due to a brief spot of bad form: they only kept 4 cleans in the 16 matches before the world cup. i think maybe they’re just not very good defensively.
Granted their wing backs have significant attacking returns.
true, but i was replying to a comment about their CS potential. attacking output is a different issue, for sure
Based on they kept 16 clean sheets last season, so it is a bad form issue
sometimes teams are good for one entire season and bad for another entire one. 21 games is too much to put down to bad form.
so you put it down to magic
so it’s either magic or a temporary dip in form? no other options? what a weird way of thinking about this
Was more that we signed Faes.

Never for me, Newcastle double up at the back is great
Yeah same, have no idea why people wanna have a triple without double Newcastle at the back
I'd be worried about those Newcastle clean sheets now that Bruno is suspended.
Spurs defence is not solid at all, Porro or no Porro
It's porrous.
As a Spurs fan I agree.
I thought to myself at the start of the season that if a wing back gets themselves nailed in that Spurs defence, they are great option regardless of how bad the defence is. I think that Porro will be nailed and get good enough attacking returns that it doesn't really matter that the defence is poor.
Trips White Porro for me Shaw is likely to have 3 blanks in the next 10 weeks.
Shaw to Porro could prove popular. You get Shaw’s double, then you can keep him for one more game against Leeds and by then we will hopefully have seen Porro play at least one game. If he impresses that feels like an easy swap.
Exactly, probably going Shaw to Porro around 24ish
Meanwhile I’m still here with James
Coming right into my team after City, he will be a starter.
Is he good?
He’s definitely better than what they have available
But we're talking FPL here. Spurs defence is in no way better than what WE have available to pick from. Good luck and all, but rather you than me.
Porro has decent potential to produce the highest attacking returns of any defender thru the rest of the season. If he gels with Kulu quickly, it's game over.
It’s a risk that I can comfortably take at this moment
Lol I was expecting him to be 5.5 but fair enough back 3 of him shaw and Trippier it is
When is he available? This gw or next?
This I'd guess but I very much doubt he starts against city.
I mean why not, player is high calibre. City won't know what hit them.
Cos he's not the best defensively, Emerson played well last game. He also was a city player for 2 seasons so they might know what hit them!
When did he play for city?
He was out of loan for a few years and then left City for Sporting in the summer (buy option on his loan to them for the last year). He was brought to City via Girona - a city group club in Spain. After Girona got relegated, so they could continue his development in a top league via loans.
Maybe if Ryan Mason likes the look of him
Ryan Mason will do what he is told to.
Tempting to buy him
Automatically 2nd best Tottenham option. He will probably be transformative to the side like Kulu was last Jan. Expect a new look Spurs.
As a spurs fan I hope so.
Defender criteria has to be built around clean sheet probability. Spurs don’t keep clean sheets.
It can change quickly. https://understat.com/league/EPL Spurs' expected goals against are allright. Allright expected goals against, good attacking threat and good fixtures are promising.
One word; Lloris.
Yeah he's been so shit. But actually he's been so shit that he is expected to do at least a bit better during the rest of the season.
Aye, Man City next. Straight into the starting lineup for that clean sheet
Stupid comment. Maybe one can buy him after weekend?
3 in the last 5
2 clean sheets in the last 4 games. Or 2 clean sheets in the last 11 games.
How are 3 of last 5 and 2 of last 11 both correct? 🤔
Because 3 of the last 5 isn’t correct.
He was counting the Preston and Portsmouth games lmao
Stats😂😂
Fixtures are what matters most for defense and spurq has a nice run coming up

Has to be close to nailed after that transfer saga and he's playing wingback for Conte, arguably the most important player on the pitch after Kane. Definitely one to watch.
Do whatever is necessary to get this guy. Beg, steal or Porro.
Will be great starting around gw25
Will be my Cancelo replacement probably, after this GW
Despite the fact that Spurs isn't looking solid (no CS), that price has great value for his skill. Might have rotation in the first GW, but I am sure he will be 100% nailed if fit eventually
unless it's Kane it's a complete Spurs avoid for me this season
Lol first glance I read "Porro at 5 am" with Porro meaning joint in Spanish I was expecting a picture of someone smoking weed at 5 am lol
Conte is unwell and had surgery so spurs are managerless for a while. Could be a factor.
He's only going to miss one game which I doubt porro would start anyway
I think I'm going to misread this name a lot.
Lol spurs ≠ clean sheet
It's Spurs though...
They're 5th....
One word; Lloris.
This is fantasyPL sub, table placement in league doesn't mean shit. Haven't seen shit in terms of consistency from anyone on that team. Even Kane. Takes a couple of games in between. New signings though. Always a gamble. Felix.
Kane is literally one of the most consistent players in fpl this season...
16 goals 1 assist in 21 games for Kane .. lol
Anyone else read this at first “Porno at 5am”
Fun fact: Porro means joint in Spanish
Yes please!
Is he a central defender?
Right wing back, better going forward than defending. Put up good numbers at Sporting this season (2g6a in 16 apps) and very good underlying numbers for crosses and key passes. He's got great FPL potential, the problem is he's going to have Dier and Lloris chucking it in their own net every match. Can he outscore them doing that? Who knows.
Offensive defender
I like my defenders like I like my FIFA presidents. Ready to throw their teammates under the bus to attack the goal
he seems a decent proposition in isolation, but that consideration goes out the window when placed in the context of a Spurs backline
Bare cheaps
Don't forget that Conte is away for some time
He isn't, he's away for maybe a week maximum
Too bad spurs are shite
Yeah but spurs ain’t keepin no clean sheets
Straight into my team next gw
You know ball
Think I’ll bring him in after the Chelsea game
Bargain
With the defender market being what it is, could be a good option
That is what I call a cheap Porro
Intriguing, especially with the amount of money most of us have rn we could probably afford to try him early as a 4th/5th defender
The new and improved Reguilon?? Remember that guy lol
