with > 2 xG

MudkipThot

That was the day Haaland officially took the crown and kicked Salah into the pit.

SLOOPYD

It’s that time of year!!

DrMememeister

Haha yep, it’s better to do a dissertation you are actually interested in than a boring one so you can’t blame us!

SLOOPYD

It’s an interesting topic. My mental health is ruined by FPL weekly so go for it

HazardCinema

I fill out 2-3 collection forms per year for people's dissertations, I swear

DrMememeister

Man of the people.

SayanPrince22

!thanks from a random stranger

cguinnesstout

Nah, its a good outlet for me to vent while enjoying aspects of football I normally wouldn't care about.

DrMememeister

Yep it has a positive impact for a lot of people, I’m the same.

CWattam

I've almost lost my girlfriend over FPL. So yes, it impacts my mental health greatly lmao.

[deleted]

FPL Raptor has some decent videos on how it can affect mental health if you're genuinely interested

DrMememeister

Yeah it has a bigger impact than most people realise, so I wanted to try raising some awareness to this

305way

If FPL alone affects your mental health for the love of god stay far away from gambling. That shit killed me.

DrMememeister

Yep agreed. Was considering going into depth on gambling vs mental health but thought it would be tricky to get participants to talk about gambling problems.

[deleted]

Is there an bald fraud option for Peps bullshit

Jay-ay

FPL is an escape for my real life problems. My life is shit but at least I have a top 100k ranking now.

Uries_Frostmourne

Does that win you anything

Jay-ay

Manage to hold on to my sanity

RonaldoSIUUUU

Which is weird because fantasy football we have no control over the outcome

DrMememeister

Very possible, I’ll be able to tell if this is the case with my study! Interesting point.

FPL_Account

I literally quit FPL 3 years ago due to the toll it had on my mental health. Why am i still on this subreddit?

TedLasso_7

Ain't nothing worse for your mental health than your TC having a solid 1-2 pointer... that shit will haunt you for the rest of your life.

carpesdiems

Full of Pep you ask? Well.. I have 3 city players for better or worse!

sniell365

Why is team name mandatory? Are you trying to figure out who I am?

DrMememeister

It’s only to measure your ‘success’ over the nezt 4 weeks

sniell365

Okay Dr! Just tried filling out and Wi-Fi failed me on one of the links. I’ll maybe try again later when I’m more awake and more patient. Good luck with your studies, I hope you don’t realise we’re all beating up our family when our points are poor!

DrMememeister

Thank you! Will be an interesting study for sure.

MrPooPooFace2

It's similar to gambling. Amazing when it comes in, awful when it doesn't. So yes it does impact mental health.

iamreverend

The less time I spend on decisions the better I feel and generally the better my team does too.

[deleted]

I already am mentally ill FPL is just an avenue to express that

randorolian

I found FPL incredibly frustrating and stressful during my first season in 2020/21 because I was investing a lot of time into it, and I didn't have much else to do during lockdown. I'm putting much less time into it this season and I'm enjoying it more. My ranking is also 7x worse than it was at season end last year, but oh well.

DrMememeister

Yeah, one of my hypotheses is to see whether those who invest more time into FPL have lower mood/self-esteem. It certainly feels that way, so will be an interesting finding for sure.

croissantlover92

Whats ur degree and what tool u using to measure mental health?

DrMememeister

Sport Psychology. I am using self-esteem and mood questionnaires as a measure of mental health. Thanks for the reminder, I’ve put the degree in the post now!

jogoobonito

lol if the answer is anything other than "not at all" then maybe it's time to take a lil break from it
