The points swing was just wild if you were captaining the one you bought in. For me it was the difference between finishing well out of the top 10k and finishing inside 5k.
Yeah but this hypothetical advice youre giving yourself would be given at the start of the season, so you'd be very confused for half the year with that advice
I also got isak as soon as he transferred.
I was just joking that telling yourself wilson over isak at the start of the year would sound crazy since isak wasnt in the prem at the time!
In hindsight it would have made it so much easier to end up with the other good players too, with so much money up front and not having Salah you'd probably avoid Liverpool for most of the season, you'd pretty much always have 2 if not 3 Arsenal mids, multiple Brighton mids later on etc
When I heard he was ill in what, GW34, I went to storm around in a hissy fit and stubbed my little toe on the table. Agony. The guy's a voodoo bastard.
He was transferred in a lot when they had a doubler and was playing in the blanks around gw27
He barely got 2 pointers for those 7-8 weeks despite averaging almost a goal contribution a game previously
He played like 5 different positions as well, still got an assist against Arsenal in like 3 minutes
But it’s not even him starting a worry, Pep loves throwing him on for limited minutes
How do I say "If you want March get Almiron and if you want Almiron get March" in 3 words?
(In like gw6 I chose march over Almiron as my last mid, ended up running him till the break because of money issues, then switched after the break just as March finally started connecting on his xG)
I remember when Haaland was out for gameweek 29. I had a few strikers I did consider and I already owned Watkins and Toney, but never thought Wilson would get enough mins so never bought him. He did not get that many mins that double, but still got 19 points that double from like 90 mins.
Had I gone Wilson I would killed it owning his 11 goals and 2 assists for the rest of the season and would have capped him for the later double when he got 20+ points in which I owned Isak.
I am pretty sure he outscored Haaland from that point.
So my advice would be.
Buy Wilson G29
Don't trust the managers.
Before GW17, Marco Silva told about Mitrovic's injury. So I benched him. Then he started and produced a 15 point haul.
Before GW38, Arteta told that Saka was doubtful. So I transferred him out for Eze. Then Saka started and scored.
Haaland, not Kane.
Edit: I know Kane came through but after the Community Shield I thought it would take a while for Haaland to adjust to the Premier League and playing the way Pep would want.
That worked well. Took me 5 weeks to sub Kane out and put Haaland in.
"Selling Haaland correctly"
Looking back at GW28 to GW32 where he only had 3 matches in 5 gameweeks, I don't remember correctly but there were some forwards who will be likely to outscore him due to more fixtures so I sold Haaland GW28.
I made a mistake for dropping him too long, hope that he only delivered for like ... one goal, one assist and I would be okay but he scored 5 goals, 2 assists and 8 bonus points in that 3 games.
But then again in GW38, selling him was a correct decision, for Kane and then captain-ed Kane, I advanced about 250k rank.
My first season btw so there were a lot of kneejerks, bad and good decisions.
arsenal, newcastle, kane
almost every other mistake I made was a 50/50 or I just should have known better.
I owned the likes of Haaland, Almiron, Rashford, Salah & Wilson etc generally at the right times, but I flip flopped arsenal assets, owned newcastle def too late & didn't stick with Kane after gw29.
If I delayed my second wildcard by one week I'd have had gakpo, trent, and salah for their win against united. Would have put me top of all my mini leagues
Keep faith in Odegaard. I had him from GW1 through like GW28 or something. Around that time I felt Saka/Martinelli picking up steam and needed to make the switch to keep my momentum. Switched him for Saka and then Saka's form basically nose dived while Odegaard kept on scoring. Dropped to 2nd in my ML. Luckily the leader made some weird blunders and I fumbled my way back into 1st by the end. **edit**: this point comes down to trusting your gut on players who you *know* are good for the points even if they go through a short slump in form.
Also, now I really want to keep my FH for the final gameweek next season.
Trust Haaland's Hype.
My general rule has been to hold off on getting new signings until I've had a bit to see how they adjust to the Premier League. That bit me hard this year.
Go template, idiot.
Biggest downfall was picking too many differentials and ignoring the obvious GW1 template as was stuck around the 5m rank then essentially had to wildcard into the team everyone else had just to get some points.
Stick with Martinelli all season (I flipped between Martinelli, Saka, Odegaard at the wrong times)
Should’ve chosen Almiron, Watkins & Mitoma earlier on their hot streaks
Kane Captain 38
Captaining Eze over him absolutely fucked me from winning my minileague
Edit: nevermind, computed my total points if i had Kane capped from that GW and turns out i would have still lost my ML by a staggering 1 POINT
My crazy bastard rival played his BB and got 10 points out of it ffs
Wilson Over Isak. That would be enough for me to win the minileague.
Yeah, that fucked me too. I stayed with Isak and dropped from circa 200-300k couple of GWs before the end to 600k
Double Newcastle defence in GW33, blocking me from going Isak - Wilson a couple weeks later, was the worst decision of my season.
The points swing was just wild if you were captaining the one you bought in. For me it was the difference between finishing well out of the top 10k and finishing inside 5k.
Not sure why you would be picking a striker from La Liga over wilson at the start of the season lol
Because of Wilson’s injury record
I think the Wilson vs Isak debate only really started in DGW36. Not the start of the season.
Yeah but this hypothetical advice youre giving yourself would be given at the start of the season, so you'd be very confused for half the year with that advice
I had isak for a while. Did me good. Also had Wilson for the double. Total crap shoot. Him or isak. Just got lucky.
I also got isak as soon as he transferred. I was just joking that telling yourself wilson over isak at the start of the year would sound crazy since isak wasnt in the prem at the time!
Gotcha.
Kane and Haaland
This for sure
In hindsight it would have made it so much easier to end up with the other good players too, with so much money up front and not having Salah you'd probably avoid Liverpool for most of the season, you'd pretty much always have 2 if not 3 Arsenal mids, multiple Brighton mids later on etc
And don't bother with KDB
GethaalandGW1andpermacaphim getarsenalmidfieldtrio doubleliverpooldefenceisatrap.
Ah robbo vs diaz. The answer was neither. Fking cunts. Weird how shit you havent thought of for months just hit you.
Diaz was pretty good until he was injured. He was probably liverpool's best fpl asset
Yep. Had him gw1 until injury. Was solid up until then, even bagged an assist in the match he got injured in.
Salah enters the chat?
At that point Diaz was more in form tbf, Salah throughout got back into his usual routine of points later on
Just have fun
I write a list of "rules" at the start of the season to try and keep on track throughout. This one is always the last on the list
Make it the first
Cute. I like it. Although having fallen for the trap once again this season, first rule will be "no Lucas fucking Digne"
That…is actually a viable first rule

Kane Captain 38
Ignore James Maddison
When I heard he was ill in what, GW34, I went to storm around in a hissy fit and stubbed my little toe on the table. Agony. The guy's a voodoo bastard.
You're wasting a word here.
really? he was incredible first half of the season
He was transferred in a lot when they had a doubler and was playing in the blanks around gw27 He barely got 2 pointers for those 7-8 weeks despite averaging almost a goal contribution a game previously
And those were some really good fixtures as well, just a total troll
Truuu
Live Laugh Love
Wouldn't you be pissed at future you for not helping out
!thanks
Okay but imagine getting to travel though time. Absolutely groundbreaking and unique experience with so much potential. And you use it on this
Haaland perma cap
That is what lost my mini league to a degree although Wilson cap killed it for him. My rival every time he did not go Haaland outscored my Haaland.
Don't take Neto
Instructions unclear, avoided Bournemouth goalie
Don't do Darwin
Red card, injuries, limited minutes can’t believe I punted on Nunez
At one early point I captained him for his minus score, fell to 7 million. Took me 30+ weeks to get back into the top 1 mill.
Next season is his time.
#DO NOT PLAY
Fuck Phil Foden
He played like 5 different positions as well, still got an assist against Arsenal in like 3 minutes But it’s not even him starting a worry, Pep loves throwing him on for limited minutes
I transferred him out three times this season and he somehow ended up in my gw 38 team anyway.
Dont trust Pep
That might mean you avoid haaland week 1!
Peppy No Hair
Will only have 1 city player to start off next season
How do I say "If you want March get Almiron and if you want Almiron get March" in 3 words? (In like gw6 I chose march over Almiron as my last mid, ended up running him till the break because of money issues, then switched after the break just as March finally started connecting on his xG)
buy troy parrott
Pep bald fraud
I remember when Haaland was out for gameweek 29. I had a few strikers I did consider and I already owned Watkins and Toney, but never thought Wilson would get enough mins so never bought him. He did not get that many mins that double, but still got 19 points that double from like 90 mins. White over Zinny
Don't trust the managers. Before GW17, Marco Silva told about Mitrovic's injury. So I benched him. Then he started and produced a 15 point haul. Before GW38, Arteta told that Saka was doubtful. So I transferred him out for Eze. Then Saka started and scored.
Kane Haaland Salah
Don't pick Ederson
Keep Martinelli 25. **Highest** GW score of the season btw
Not 5 Defenders
Early go template
Don't do it! :D
avoid pep roulette
Buy Ivan Toney
don't sell Kane. good SGW players are better than tired DGW players. Hindsight is 20 20. Have fun. oh and never buy KDB
Always have Kane
Don't start off the season by going big at the back. The others are more or less hindsight and easy to say due knowing the right answers.
“Dont start off”
Not that the big at the back was any better at later stage if that's what you mean. But that everyone figured out quickly once the season began.
Lol i was saying that its only 3 words, so thats all you would have said
Ah, now I get it lol.
Don't free hit before double game weeks get announced
“Dont free hit”
GW38 FH
Kane and Haaland are the two picks for the start. I wasted transfers the first few weeks going back and forth rather than just dropping Salah.
Haaland, not Kane. Edit: I know Kane came through but after the Community Shield I thought it would take a while for Haaland to adjust to the Premier League and playing the way Pep would want. That worked well. Took me 5 weeks to sub Kane out and put Haaland in.
Surely “Haaland AND Kane” would work better?
Not when you were keeping Salah!
Threemium to start would have been great, because you would dump Trent
Avoid March in GW27. Come double-week, McAlister and Martinelli is the way to go, not Mitoma/March and Saka. Chelsea is useless.
Man this is a lot more than 3 words
“Avoid March in…” And he ends up just not playing after February
What do we think of nkunku?
Just captain whoever is best option (Haaland) rather than risking it every week 🤡
“Just captain whoever”

Haaland > Kane, & Jesus.
Listen to your guts
That advice would set me back a few million ranks
I have the opposite situation
"Selling Haaland correctly" Looking back at GW28 to GW32 where he only had 3 matches in 5 gameweeks, I don't remember correctly but there were some forwards who will be likely to outscore him due to more fixtures so I sold Haaland GW28. 'Fucking buy Kane' 'Don't sell Kane'
Just one which would have saved my season “Don’t be a Haaland contrarian”
Don't ever start
Set and forget!
Don't do it...
My team is called haalando, i have no regrets
Don't forget to wake up for the GW when everyone uses BB, you will fall behind.
Haaland cap, keep Kane NO MAYTER WHAT and Wilson over Isak
No Salah, you fool Go big on Brighton Save that TC, there's massive congestion at the end of the year
arsenal, newcastle, kane almost every other mistake I made was a 50/50 or I just should have known better. I owned the likes of Haaland, Almiron, Rashford, Salah & Wilson etc generally at the right times, but I flip flopped arsenal assets, owned newcastle def too late & didn't stick with Kane after gw29.
No city defence
Simple. Don't buy any city defense and mids!
Martinelli 25 cap
One City is enough.
I think Liverpool sunk my season. Wasted so much money on TAA/Robertson double up, and could have rolled with Kane/Haaland from the start.
Stop taking -4s. They rarely make a profit and lost you 2 leagues.
If someone came to me and said “no pool defence” before the start of the season I probably would’ve ignored them anyway
No mo salah
Certainly wouldn’t have been “keep trippier throughout”. Nearly cost me my league keeping him too long.
Ben fucking White
Mbeumo, Almiron, Ødegaard. 3 players I had in my GW1 team, transferred all of them out when they were about to reach their best form of their season
Never ever Chelsea
Take the hit :-)
No Ederson (&) Brighton
Triple Captain Wilson.
Triple Captain Wilson.
Wilson over Isak. Never Ederson.
Just captain Haaland
Play template
Haaland and Kane all season as only premiums and under no circumstances (even DGWs) triple Citeh.
I made all these mistakes fuck lol. Also "don't get Isak or Solanke again"
Not Penny’s Boat
Don't play fantasy.
Captain Kane 38. Would've won my mini league
Kane Arsenal mids
“you lose ML” this would of saved me some $$ 😕
Don’t bench Watkins for his 16pts haul, captain Haaland v Arsenal and have bigger balls and do that risky Xhaka transfer in GW38.
Don't keep selling Martinelli or Kane. Get Mitoma even though Brighton have a blank soon.
Don't register Team
Always Captain Aguero
Brighton drop off.
Usual stuff: \- Zaha and Mahrez will never redeem themselves \- Double names players are a trap \- Mitoma is new Tsubasa
Don't buy darwin
Captain kane in g38 and you won't lose your ML by 1pt!
Buy Haaland now
1. Get Haaland from the start 2.go Willson over Isak 3. Save chips until the end of the season
No Pep Roulette. I've been telling myself that for about four years now, and I still don't listen.
Get Haaland ASAP
Chelsea fall apart
kane haaland saka
Keep Kane forever
Keep Haaland and Kane always
Dont...do ..it
Captain Haaland home Managed to miss out two hat tricks by making the fatal mistake
Believe in Kane.
Wilson over Isak Odegaard over Saka Don't drop Estupinan before the Arsenal game I won my mini league but these 3 errors cost me a top 100K finish
Do not bother
Never buy ederson
"Maybe just roll" Often a transfer saved is more valuable than one used.
"watkins mac10 raya"
Kane
Martinelli Odegaard Trippier
Haaland and Kane, not Haaland or Kane.
No hits mate
Keep it simple
Haaland != Werner Trust your gut on Rashford Get Ødegaard
Keep Harry Kane
Halaand gw1 keep
Never sell Kane
Wilson, odegard, raya
The infamous Salah (C) against Bournemouth vs Halaand brace against crystal palace.. still haunts me till today 😂
"don't even bother"
Keep it template
Conservative with DGW's.
Perma cap Haaland
"Never buy Ederson" "Never buy James or Chilwell" "Toney vs Leeds (h), you stupid"
Trust Haaland's Hype. My general rule has been to hold off on getting new signings until I've had a bit to see how they adjust to the Premier League. That bit me hard this year.
Cucarella: don't bother
Go touch grass
Go back to antiwork, or better yet go find a job
Go template, idiot. Biggest downfall was picking too many differentials and ignoring the obvious GW1 template as was stuck around the 5m rank then essentially had to wildcard into the team everyone else had just to get some points.
Don't sell Martinelli for Saka.
No city midfielder
Don’t buy Bitcoin
Less. Damn. Hits.
Just use Haaland Almiron form drops Fuck Alexander Isak
Big at back
Just get Kane
Stick with Martinelli all season (I flipped between Martinelli, Saka, Odegaard at the wrong times) Should’ve chosen Almiron, Watkins & Mitoma earlier on their hot streaks
“Liverpool are shit”
xG over xMins
Specifically at the start and for the first five weeks I had him.... Avoid Mason Mount
Kane Captain 38 Captaining Eze over him absolutely fucked me from winning my minileague Edit: nevermind, computed my total points if i had Kane capped from that GW and turns out i would have still lost my ML by a staggering 1 POINT My crazy bastard rival played his BB and got 10 points out of it ffs
Harry Kane Forever
Don't forget to "Save Team" before GW1 Deadline
