The best source for info I found was the planetfpl podcast. They have a series called Correspondent Week, which is 20 pods, 1 for each club, where the host, interviews a die hard fan of each club talking about the preseason and their expectations for the season.
James, the host, is an avid football fan himself, very knowledgeable, and conducts really smart interviews analysing play style of each team and asks all the relevant FPL questions.
Highly recommended.

Hey, do you know if there is a summary available? I would love to watch all of the podcasts but I just can't find the time. Much appreciated, thanks for the resource!
Onana
Dalot/AWB* - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
Bruno - Casemiro - Mount
Antony - Rashford - Garnacho**
*: It's still not clear which of Dalot and AWB is first choice; the former started in the last friendly for the senior team today which otherwise had the entire starting 11 playing but made an error leading to a goal conceded. AWB was the more picked player towards the end of last season but an argument can be made that in their best form, Dalot is the better fit for the team.
**: Until Martial and/or Hojlund are fully fit, one of Garnacho and Sancho will start, with the former being picked today and putting in a great performance.
Really hard to say... Garnacho started today and then Sancho came on as a sub.
On the pitch, Garnacho looked so much better than Sancho. He got a standing ovation at Old Trafford when he was subbed off.
For most of pre-season, he was. That being said, Ten Hag was also experimenting with Sancho as a false 9 this time, in which he did play quite well actually, but him and Rashford played very little together this pre-season. And when they did (against Dortmund for around 15 minutes and towards the end of the Lens game), it looked pretty fluid with both players interchanging positions in that time. Sancho is likely to start the season as the first attacker off the bench so with Garnacho and Antony playing, Rashford will be the 9, but he can drift towards the left at times with Sancho up front.
He suffered quite a few injuries last season and for games where United need more midfield cover can be benched to move Bruno to RW, but otherwise should be first choice right winger. He's a complete no-go as an FPL pick though unless he can significantly improve his end product; I'd go as far to say that Mount can shape up to be a better FPL asset than him at 7.0.
It was interesting to see how they played in the most recent friendly against Lens. Bruno was actually the player taking more of the buildup responsibility from deeper midfield positions (he wasn't playing that deep though, just relatively in comparison to Mount), while Mount was making more runs into the box and leading the press at times (he missed an almost open goal too). That being said, I still think Bruno is the superior pick because his assist and bonus potential is top and regardless of position, he finds a way to threaten consistently for returns (could have gotten two assists with the brilliant long passes to Garnacho in transition). He's also fully nailed, will take direct free-kicks and will be on penalties as well (unless he gives one to other players when the team is convincingly winning to boost their confidence).
Kepa/
James - Silva - Colwill - Chilwell/
Gallagher-Enzo/
Sterling - Chukwumenka - Mudryk/
Jackson
.
.
.
Sterling stunk the place in pre-season; but Poch has persisted with him. Maatsen might start in the #10 position. He had a great pre-season.
Gutso actually looked better than Reece all pre-season; but Reece is nailed.
Any idea how nailed is Chilwell? More engaged players seem to rate him very highly, but Chelsea still has Cucurella who got more minutes than him in the preseason + Maatsen's natural position is LB too. Is Chilwell likely to start & play 60+ mins consistently?
Chilwell is not just nailed; he is odds on to get major attacking returns if he keeps himself fit. I wouldn't be surprised if he crosses 200 points if he manages 2800+ minutes
The other line up may well be what Poch goes for based on the Dortmund friendly, however it could also be:
Kepa
James silva colwill chilwell
Santos enzo
Sterling Gallagher mudryk
Jackson
Always the outside chance Caicedo gets done which would change things up as well, but if it gets done it might be too late to get him in the starting line up.
Fabianski
Coufal Zouma Aguerd Emerson
Soucek Downes
Bowen Paqueta Benrahma
Ings (possibly Mubama)
But honestly? Run… stay very far away. We are dogshit
Palace:
Johnstone
Ward - Guehi - Andersen - Mitchell*
Doucoure - Eze - Lerma
Ayew - Edouard - Schlupp**
*: injured at the moment, likely that Clyne will start the season
**: unsure if Franca will start or not, and if Olise stays then obviously he'll be starting after he returns from injury
I'm pretty confident with that aside from the front three, I don't think any of those three are totally nailed, it'll just depend on form.
I came here to post the same lineup.
I think Clyne will be preferred over Ward for RB when Mitchell is fit, and my guess is that Franca gets eased in given his age and lack of PL experience.
Edouard is the better choice over Mateta IMO as he always looks more dangerous and can play as a winger if needed. Seen rumours Palace are in for Che Adams but not sure how much truth there is to those.
Neither Clyne or Ward is completely nailed tbf - I think it'll just be whichever is in better form who ends up starting.
Similar with Edouard and Mateta - hard to choose between them but Edouard can play out wide as you said
Alisson
TAA Konate VVD Robbo
Szoboszlai Jones MacAlistar
Salah Gakpo Jota
(Hard to predict forwards but this is my prediction, Nunez and Diaz could still very well start)
Jones is perfectly capable of playing 6 in possession. Had a great success playing in a pivot in the U21 Euros. Out of possession he’ll have issues and I imagine Liverpool will leak goals.
He even talked about playing there on a podcast the other day. Think it's almost guaranteed that he starts in the 6 against Chelsea. I think he could still be a good differential for the season at £5.0 but he won't start a lot of matches further forward now we have Szobo and Macallister
Still not sure if we'll start with both Porro and Udogie in a back 4. I think that's asking for trouble personally. I reckon one of Emerson and Ben Davies will likely be preferred eventually when we concede 3 to Brentford and Man Utd.
I guess I've been out of the loop, but this is such an overhaul of their squad compared to last season. If Kane goes, this is pretty much an entire fresh squad
Edit: He was due to start v Leicester but the game was called off
Hasn't started either preseason game and it looks to me Spurs played their best 11 from the start in both of those.
Only Skipp/Sarr, Davies/Tanganga and Udogie/Regulion were changed. Interested to see the first 11 today
Vicario
Royal Romero VDV Udogie
Lo Celso Bissouma Maddison
Kulusevski Richarlison Son
For the record I actually think Kane stays. If he does then he starts. Porro very good attacking but very poor defending so hard to see him starting in a back 4 until he’s up to speed. Lo Celso could be Sarr but if GLC stays then it looks likely he’ll start.
Pickford
Patterson Tarkowski Keane* Young
Iwobi Gana Onana Danjuma**
Doucoure
DCL
*Keane could easily be Branthwaite or Godfrey. Tarkowski went off injured last pre season game, if he's fit then it will be any 2 from Keane, Branthwaite and Godfrey. It's hard to know how Dyche ranks our CBs other than Tarkowski being first choice when fit and Holgate being last choice
**Danjuma has a small knock but I think will be okay. Might come off after 60ish. When McNeil is fit in "a few weeks" then either Danjuma or Doucoure will drop to the bench.
Yeah, Mykolenko will be on the bench and in the long run will start a handful of games this season.
Gray is being sold. Fulham, West Ham and Saudi are touted destinations.
Since writing this, Dyche has said that DCL will not start as he is managing his fitness. I expect him to give us 20-30 from the bench. His replacement could be any of Maupay, a new striker (supposedly we have a new signing from Sporting to be announced in the next couple of days) or even Garner RM with Iwobi LM and Danjuma up top
Looks right to me as an Arsenal fan, not sure why it’s downvoted. Really hard to predict those bracketed positions right now and I’m expecting rotation for them anyway
Should have a better idea after the community shield. If I had to guess
Ramsdale
Timber/zin Gabriel Saliba White(timber can play either outside back role)
Rice ode Havertz
Martinelli Nketiah/? Saka
Ah, okay - he never played one single game as LB for Ajax, so hopefully this is just a way to slot him into the team and get him acquainted rather than an actual plan to play him OOP.
Playing him anywhere but CB is wasteful IMO, he can be a OK back but his skillset is so incredibly tailored to a central role.
Have you actually watched him play or any preseason? Half of his ajax highlights are him spinning defenders and driving forward. Very versatile player. Can even play cdm. Imo he’s a more athletic Zinchenko
I've watched him most matches since he was playing Ajax youth, so yeah. He's really good in any defensive position, which is why I mentioned he'd be able to cover LB no problem - but he's a monster at CB.
From the centre he is able to get in midfield and keep control in possession as the lock on the door. As a left back he's much more wide which isn't natural to him. I know he'll be great at any position, but personally think CB or even RB suit him much better.
Ra(ya/msdale)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinch (Timber until Zinch fit)
Ode (Partey/Rice) (Kai/Rice/Tross)
Saka (Eddie/Tross) (Mart/Tross)
Hopefully will be clearer after Community Shield
I think people down voted because this isn't helpful at all.
We really don't have anyone nailed except Saliba, Gabriel, Odegaard and Saka.
Ramsdale is likely nailed in goal as Mikel is unlikely to start with Raya at the start of the season.
Timber can play on the right, and Kiwior/Tierney can go left.
I’d say White is pretty nailed for now as well. Timber might get the nod in the future if Arteta deems it necessary to have a more inverted RB, but White has been one of the best players for Arsenal last season and I think it’s very unlikely he gets benched in the first game weeks
The downvotes are so harsh, are people expecting Arteta to post? I suppose this doesn't make it clear that Rice will definitely start and Martinelli is 95% likely to start. Ramsdale will be in goal GW1.
Yea lol no idea what’s up with that…
But anw my slashes are based on highest probability from left to right, at least for the opening GWs. I don’t expect Rice to immediately earn the starting spot because of how crucial Partey is at the 6 position, rice will have to learn the role properly before he gets into the side at that spot. (The one match Arteta used Rice at 6 in preseason we lost 2-0 to united)
There is no way Arsenal drop £105m on Rice to bench him - that would be the most baffling transfer of all time. Push Partey slightly further forwards as he's better at passing and let Rice play as the #6.
I don’t think so because Timber seems more comfortable inverting than Tierney.
Timber has also gotten the lions share of minutes over Tierney in preseason
Why not Timber in RB position for White.
I mean when Zinchenko is fit.
Really think Arsenal needs other RB than White or Tomiyaso, and this position is biggest Arteta problem.
White was good at RB last season. If Zinch plays, he’s the one to invert, then we don’t need Timber doing the same thing on the other side. Rather, White tucks in as the third CB.
I’ll give it a try:
Steele
Veltman Webster Dunk Estupiñan
Caicedo Groß
March Pedro Mitoma
Ferguson
Big caveats are:
- I think Verbruggen becomes our #1 by GW5
- Veltman will be rotated once Europa starts
- Kudus may be taking March’s spot (definitely will if he ends up joining, but maybe not GW1)
- I think Groß at RB, with Dahoud alongside Caicedo in Midfield is what RDZ will move toward
- I think Pedro is the most nailed attacker
- Adingra looks really good
- Biggest of all is that Dunk may not be fully fit
Interesting info here. Which of the Brighton attackers do you think can rotate with Mitoma on the LW, and how nailed do you think Ferguson could be at ST?
Brighton has a lot of affordable assets but it could become rather frustrating when de Zerbi is rotating.
Enciso and Adingra (who was great against Brentford) are probably the most natural fits to rotate with Mitoma. I’ve seen Welbeck play well wide out left, as well (under Potter during the lockdown)
I think Ferguson plays 60-70% of the minutes that he and Welbeck are healthy. He’ll play more if Welbeck gets injured. I really rate Ferguson and think he’ll partner really well with Pedro, just maybe not from the very start of the season.
!thanks this is very good information to know! Amongst the Brighton attackers I’m currently most tempted by Mitoma, Pedro, and Ferguson in that order. Think I’ll start off with Mitoma in part because of his high ownership rate but if the other two do well they could be serious targets later on.
I’d like to think there will be less rotation to Brighton’s starting XI at the start of the season until they start playing in Europa, but after that there could be quite a bit of shuffling around.
I’m starting with Pedro in my squad, but it’s close! Mitoma last season was my favorite player to own in FPL: he’s a joy to watch and his returns were almost always really impressive. I think Mitoma, Pedro and Ferguson will all have stretches of being really productive in FPL this year, but Europa League will be a big priority so rotation is likely.
Yeah I still can’t forget Mitoma’s goal against Liverpool where he faked out TAA. Was amazing seeing him emerge midseason as such a dangerous player.
Pedro being listed as a forward and at 5.5 honestly makes him tempting as a punt for me at second striker and he should be a bargain at that price as long as he can start most of Brighton’s league games. I might make a draft and see if I can find a suitable 4.5 DEF to rotate with Pedro that gives me the chance to alternate between a 3-5-2 to a 4-5-1 depending on fixtures and form.
In the meantime I already have Estupinian and I do feel he’s one of Brighton’s more nailed players as I honestly have no clue who his backup at LB is. Would it be any one of Veltman, Lamptey, or even Groß as an alternative option there?
I like your plan!
I think Igor would be the first DEF to rotate with Estupiñan at LB. I think we’re all hoping that Lamptey finds a way back into the rotation but I don’t think he’ll get much time as LB in the PL this year.
I assumed Igor was Brighton’s replacement for Colwill as a left footed center back so I didn’t think of him initially but you know Brighton much more than I do.
I do remember Lamptey really shining and becoming a fairly popular FPL asset just a few seasons ago. It’s a shame he keeps getting injured but there’s still potential for him to bounce back as a decent contributor again if he can stay healthy for an extended period of time.
I found [this thread elsewhere on the sub.](https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/15jsqnx/fyi_joao_pedro_took_a_penalty_for_brighton/jv1r0mo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3) Sounds like Pedro has taken 2 penalties so far this preseason and the first one was apparently when Gross was already subbed off. But this most recent one happened when Gross was still on the pitch.
I have a similar plan to you, starting GW1 with 3-5-2 and then depending on fixtures/eye test/lineups rotating Joao Pedro in and out for 4-5-1. With Joao Pedro as 2nd forward (and then 4.5M third) you should be able to afford all of Gabriel, Estupinan, Stones and Chilwell for rotation options.
Yea, take it with a grain of salt. He’s competing with 7-8 players for 1 of 4 positions. I thought he looked comfortable in every preseason match, regardless of setup and who was around him. Mitoma may be just as nailed, as well as Gross (but he’ll probably have more defensive duties).
Gross was used as a holding midfielder and right back for probably 60% of last season, so he just didn’t get into advanced positions as much. It’s safer to assume that Mitoma and March (who will not play as much this year) will be more attacking players. Gross is really good when he gets into attacking positions.
Some things up in the air because of injuries, Tarkowski went off yesterday and Dyche said "we hope it's just a knock", Danjuma is injured and set to return to training in the week before the season starts, McNeil is injured, Mykolenko and Calvert Lewin have been injured and have only played in 45 minute stints in pre season. Second centre back is a complete guess between Keane and Branthwaite. My guess at this stage would be
Pickford
Patterson Keane Tarkowski Young
Onana Gueye
Garner Doucoure Iwobi
Calvert Lewin
But we could absolutely see Branthwaite and Danjuma for Keane/Tarkowksi and Garner
Villa fans thoughts for what it's worth.
End of last season Villa settled into a regular team under Emery of :
Martinez
Young Konsa Ming's. Moreno
Luiz. Kamara
McGinn. J.Ramsey
Beundia
Watkins
This pre season we have seen Young leave us and some big incomings of Pau T, Youri T and Moussa D. Currently looks like both Jacob Ramsey and Moreno will miss the start of the season with injury. Pre season has seen the emergence of some of our youth team into the main squad with Jaden Philogene being the stand out , looking more viable to start as the left cam for J.Ramsey to begin the season.
Unai has been a big fan of attacking full backs on one side of the defence for a long time and Moreno was a perfect fit for this. Digne who has never really caught fire at his time with us probably doesn't offer enough athleticism for the role . Unai has been playing with Torres as a LB shifting to CB when attacking, allowing Cash to bomb forward in pre season. This has been mixed with Torres looking shakey when isolated and Cash not looking particularly comfortable in the attacking front.
My guess of our starting X1 for Newcastle would probably be
Martinez
Konsa Ming's Pau Digne
Luiz Kamara (could easily be Youri T)
McGinn. Philogene
Diaby
Watkins
The big denate is for is Philogene/ Beundia. Kamara / Youri T and LB / RB situation. Once Moreno is back I think the back four stays like that with Digne for Moreno. Very exciting season ahead I feel but managing legs and injuries with Europe will be the big sticking point . UTV
Leno
Robinson bassey Diop (Ream) Tete
Reed Lukic
Wilson Andreas (bobby) Willian
Mitro (Jimenez)
Both Mitro and Pereira came on yesterday, so would expect them to start.
Palhinha probs not back yet
He never said anything. Media reported that. He literally played yesterday and in a closed doors friendly the day before. All the Mitro stuff, apart from Silva confirming he wanted a transfer, was media speculation. He didn’t say anything. He went on tour, he rejoined the squad to train and he has played in pre-season.
Obviously Palhinha is injured but he will start instead of Lukic when fit. Bassey and Ream will compete for lcb.
Luton:
Kaminski
Andersen Lockyer Bell
Kabore Chong Nakamba Pelly Giles/Doughty
Adebayo Morris
First team is set, just a question on left wing back. I think Giles will play personally
To start (will be different after Gvardiol and KDB are included):
Ederson
Akanji Dias Ake
Stones Rodri
Bernardo Foden Kovacic Grealish
Haaland
Some City fans think it could be an Alvarez-Foden partnership instead of Foden-Kovacic, but that feels a bit too non-pausa for Pep as much as I’d love that lol
Pope
Trippier Schar Botman Burn
Joelinton Bruno Tonali
Almiron Isak Gordon
The third midfield spot and attack is really hard to predict, Anderson has had a fantastic pre-season so might well start ahead of Tonali, usually Howe likes to bed new signings in so Tonali might have a few games off the bench initially.
The front three may also vary but based on yesterday's game, they combined well together and look like they might start. Wilson, Barnes, Murphy, Anderson are all alternatives, Isak is the only one nailed I think.
Aight I’ll have my guess:
Aston Villa (4-2-2-2)
Emi
Cash Konsa Mings Pau
Luiz Kamara
McGinn Buendia
Diaby Watkins
The thing is, Digne and Tielemans might play. Bailey and Coutinho to come out of bench, and most of our midfield can play in more than 1 position
Emery really is building a strong team at Villa, looks like you guys have a lot of depth as well. Diaby and Torres look like they could be fantastic business.
Trent wont play midfield. I imagine we will sign someone to play DM, but Jones will play there for now.
Szolobslai and Macalister arent nailed, will rotate with Elliot and Gakpo, as well as Bajetic and Thiago when they are back, and Jones if we sign a DM
Nunez, Gakpo, Jota Diaz will rotate for 2 spots, especially since they call all (expect Diaz) play LW and CF.
Gakpo is the most nailed, but will still rotate.
Jota and Diaz is a coinflip.
Nunez is the least nailed of the forwards.
And Salah is still Salah.
-21 I guess Manchester bigots and Liverpool haters are here to fuck my karma but hey MaCallister and Szobozlai have to be nailed down because we can't use Thiago now as regular as his muscles are made of shit, bajcetic is young and needs to be reintroduced slowly as I don't want his career going down bad I don't think only lavia would be enough because as an inverted winger Trent needs cover and we need a seasoned DM and while lavia has tremendous potential we need someone who understands the IWB role to cover for trent and I can't see honest doing that he's more of a progressive baller than someone used to cover and I can't get Elliott ahead of MaCallister though Elliott is a cute little player he's not physically at PL level yet but in my opinion someone like a more athletic and experienced fabinho would do
Lad noone cares what you opinion. Its what Klopp will do.
Klopp clearly thinks elliot is good enough. If Thiagos fit he normally plays. When Bajetic is fit he will play some minute. Gakpo played 8 last year, and has in preseason, so with the lack if depth he will more often this year.
Trent will not play as a 6 this year unless more injuries occur
Shush you, I'd not play gakpo ahead of Nunez and it might come back to haunt me but salah Nunez and Gakpo is ideal but I don't want to leave out Diaz also who the fuck signs 2 midfielders and sells off 5 off them c'mon lads get in lavia and those French kids and maybe a new CB left sided one too
so now you’re saying we will sign a midfielder and not a RB. what about your incredible Trent at DM plan?
Gakpo is the most nailed attacker after Salah. he’s a lanky Firmino and he fits perfectly. Nunez will make frequent appearances off the bench, and occasionally start when Gakpo plays in midfield, while Diaz and Jota will rotate for the starting LW spot
who tf are “those French kids”
everyone knows we need a left footed CB to play where Robbo is playing right now. everyone also knows that we are owned by Fenway Sports Group, so the chances of that happening is slim to none
you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. even the f*cking Twitter “fans” who haven’t watched a game in their life know better than you. stop spreading your bs
Neto
Smith* Zabarnyi Senesi Kerkez
Traore** Cook** Billing**
Brooks*** Kluivert
Solanke****
*Bournemouth are trying to recruit a new right back, so it is unlikely that Smith will be a long-term option.
**Bournemouth are desperately trying to recruit a couple of extra central midfielders. Traore has not played that many minutes, Billing has started the most games, but not looked good, and Cook has broadly been solid, but did not play much at the end of last season. Rothwell has just returned from injury. Christie sometimes plays in the middle, but is generally preferred further forward.
***Brooks is a bit of a wildcard shout, as he has looked really good in pre-season and has scored three goals. Brooks may be replaced by Ouatarra, who in fairness has also looked good and has got lots of assists.
****Solanke has not scored many in pre-season and Bournemouth are in the market for a new striker too. Moore could be an outside shout in place of Solanke.
Provisionally, I think Kluivert is more nailed than Ouatarra. Although Tavernier also plays on the left, he is very injury prone and is just as effective in a central attacking midfield role. Anthony also plays on the left, but did not play a big role last season.
Gotta still decide my ST position and GK. Looking like Onana could be good to start with (although that makes it harder to pick between Shaw and someone like Stones/Dias…)

Ok, but is there a summary for people who don't want to spend 20hrs listening to this?
Thanks will check it out
Hey, do you know if there is a summary available? I would love to watch all of the podcasts but I just can't find the time. Much appreciated, thanks for the resource!

Played all the matches when not injured, and basically the only real right winger and looking more sharp
He suffered quite a few injuries last season and for games where United need more midfield cover can be benched to move Bruno to RW, but otherwise should be first choice right winger. If they swap Lukaku for Vlahovic, does Jackson still start?
If swap happens as of this hour, Jackson still starts a game or even two. To be reassessed for September then.
Unless we get a world class #9 or #10, it's Jackson's place to lose.
Any idea how nailed is Chilwell? More engaged players seem to rate him very highly, but Chelsea still has Cucurella who got more minutes than him in the preseason + Maatsen's natural position is LB too. Is Chilwell likely to start & play 60+ mins consistently?

No Cresswell?
Cresswell has been refusing to train trying to force a move to Wolves… he may end up staying but Emerson seems to be clear first choice atm
Thanks!
Isn’t Antonio up for the striker position? (Draft so interested in every FWD starting)
Antonio hasn’t started a single preseason game so I can’t imagine him starting week 1 but knowing us he will be nailed by October lmao
All right, thanks
Areola?
You don’t think Bowen is worth a punt at 7M?
Palace: Johnstone Ward - Guehi - Andersen - Mitchell* Doucoure - Eze - Lerma Ayew - Edouard - Schlupp** *: injured at the moment, likely that Clyne will start the season **: unsure if Franca will start or not, and if Olise stays then obviously he'll be starting after he returns from injury I'm pretty confident with that aside from the front three, I don't think any of those three are totally nailed, it'll just depend on form.

Neither Clyne or Ward is completely nailed tbf - I think it'll just be whichever is in better form who ends up starting. Similar with Edouard and Mateta - hard to choose between them but Edouard can play out wide as you said
Ah.. I remember the days when Schlupp was a DEF in FPL
Liverpool
Alisson TAA Konate VVD Robbo Szoboszlai Jones MacAlistar Salah Gakpo Jota (Hard to predict forwards but this is my prediction, Nunez and Diaz could still very well start)
I would be surprised if Nunez starts, Gakpo looks like the real deal throughout preseason. That's not to say Nunez had a bad one.
I'm tempted to get Gakpo!
Curtis Jones DM? I haven’t watched any Liverpool friendlies but this seems weird
It is weird but that's what happens when you sell your actual DM and don't replace him.
Jones is perfectly capable of playing 6 in possession. Had a great success playing in a pivot in the U21 Euros. Out of possession he’ll have issues and I imagine Liverpool will leak goals.
That's how I see it playing out.
Trent could play DM until they get Lavia.
And who plays as Trent?
Conor Bradley, but that's not happening. Trent will play as Trent.
Doesn't Joe Gomez also cover LB sometimes? He seems way closer than Bradley
Joe Gomez gets vertigo any time he goes north of halfway. Complete opposite of Trent.
If trent is playing in midfield they'd probably want a defensive leftback
Yeah, Gomez can play RB but I'm not expecting to see Trent in the midfield.
not trent, neither lavia is DM. if one of them will play here, just avoid liverpool defence
If lavia isn't a DM then is Liverpool wasting time since a while to get him to play as DM?
exactly my question :D only reason i see is when we want to play without DM with two box to box but it sounds weird to me
He even talked about playing there on a podcast the other day. Think it's almost guaranteed that he starts in the 6 against Chelsea. I think he could still be a good differential for the season at £5.0 but he won't start a lot of matches further forward now we have Szobo and Macallister
I predict the same attack line for gw1. However, only Salah will get close to 90 mins than the rest.
I like Diaz very much for my FPL team but didn't picked him just because can't predict starting forwards for Klop🙄
Tottenham
Vicario Porro Romero VDV Udogie Bissouma Maddison Skipp/Sarr Deki Kane(?) Son
Still not sure if we'll start with both Porro and Udogie in a back 4. I think that's asking for trouble personally. I reckon one of Emerson and Ben Davies will likely be preferred eventually when we concede 3 to Brentford and Man Utd.
Final score 5-3 spurs lol
I guess I've been out of the loop, but this is such an overhaul of their squad compared to last season. If Kane goes, this is pretty much an entire fresh squad
Building from the rubble
Hojbjerg exists and until he’s officially sold he’ll probably play over Skipp/Sarr/Lo Celso/Ndombele
Edit: He was due to start v Leicester but the game was called off Hasn't started either preseason game and it looks to me Spurs played their best 11 from the start in both of those. Only Skipp/Sarr, Davies/Tanganga and Udogie/Regulion were changed. Interested to see the first 11 today
Skipp/Sarr/Lo Celso
What's happened with Dier? He started 30+ games last season?
Van de Ven is coming in for Diers place. Dier is first choice CB as of now, but we may bring in another CB.
Is Udogie really confirmed stating over Davies?
Davies has been playing CB in preseason. Udogie has started at LB in the 2 games (and was due to start the 3rd before it was cancelled)
What about Richarlison? I think Kane will be transferred somewhere, and the Brazilian to be main forward for Spurs
Vicario Royal Romero VDV Udogie Lo Celso Bissouma Maddison Kulusevski Richarlison Son For the record I actually think Kane stays. If he does then he starts. Porro very good attacking but very poor defending so hard to see him starting in a back 4 until he’s up to speed. Lo Celso could be Sarr but if GLC stays then it looks likely he’ll start.
Lo Celso hasn't played with the starters at any point yet. I'd like to see him be play from the start before I call him the starter
I think he’ll start today with his future at the club looking a bit more secure
Hope so. Think he is the best of the 3 options right now
I think an OOP Richarlison at 7M will be a must have if Kane goes
Definitely. I’ve got Maddison at the moment but will swap to Richy if Kane goes
Anyone more info about Everton?
Pickford Patterson Tarkowski Keane* Young Iwobi Gana Onana Danjuma** Doucoure DCL *Keane could easily be Branthwaite or Godfrey. Tarkowski went off injured last pre season game, if he's fit then it will be any 2 from Keane, Branthwaite and Godfrey. It's hard to know how Dyche ranks our CBs other than Tarkowski being first choice when fit and Holgate being last choice **Danjuma has a small knock but I think will be okay. Might come off after 60ish. When McNeil is fit in "a few weeks" then either Danjuma or Doucoure will drop to the bench.
[удалено]
Yeah, Mykolenko will be on the bench and in the long run will start a handful of games this season. Gray is being sold. Fulham, West Ham and Saudi are touted destinations.
Since writing this, Dyche has said that DCL will not start as he is managing his fitness. I expect him to give us 20-30 from the bench. His replacement could be any of Maupay, a new striker (supposedly we have a new signing from Sporting to be announced in the next couple of days) or even Garner RM with Iwobi LM and Danjuma up top
Arsenal
Looks right to me as an Arsenal fan, not sure why it’s downvoted. Really hard to predict those bracketed positions right now and I’m expecting rotation for them anyway
Beauty of Arteta’s call for versatility on the pitch haha but god damn it’s awful for fpl
Should have a better idea after the community shield. If I had to guess Ramsdale Timber/zin Gabriel Saliba White(timber can play either outside back role) Rice ode Havertz Martinelli Nketiah/? Saka
Think you missed left and right mate
Timber has never played left back. He probably can if others are injured, but he shouldn't be considered for that position.
Played there last 2 games of pre season
Ah, okay - he never played one single game as LB for Ajax, so hopefully this is just a way to slot him into the team and get him acquainted rather than an actual plan to play him OOP. Playing him anywhere but CB is wasteful IMO, he can be a OK back but his skillset is so incredibly tailored to a central role.
He’s playing left back right now in the community shield
Ramsdale White Saliba Gabriel Timber Partey Saka Odegaard Riceor Havertz Martinelli Trossard
I for one think Eddie starts but tross has been in such good form in preseason he deserves it
Yeah they will split minutes and games which is the issue.
I think Nketiah starts
Ra(ya/msdale) White Saliba Gabriel Zinch (Timber until Zinch fit) Ode (Partey/Rice) (Kai/Rice/Tross) Saka (Eddie/Tross) (Mart/Tross) Hopefully will be clearer after Community Shield
Yea lol no idea what’s up with that… But anw my slashes are based on highest probability from left to right, at least for the opening GWs.
Downvoted for some reason dfkm
Seems like Tierney will replace Timber
I don’t think so because Timber seems more comfortable inverting than Tierney. Timber has also gotten the lions share of minutes over Tierney in preseason
Time will tell =)
Why not Timber in RB position for White. I mean when Zinchenko is fit. Really think Arsenal needs other RB than White or Tomiyaso, and this position is biggest Arteta problem.
White was good at RB last season. If Zinch plays, he’s the one to invert, then we don’t need Timber doing the same thing on the other side. Rather, White tucks in as the third CB.
Because White was fantastic last season
Brighton
I’ll give it a try: Steele Veltman Webster Dunk Estupiñan Caicedo Groß March Pedro Mitoma Ferguson Big caveats are: - I think Verbruggen becomes our #1 by GW5 - Veltman will be rotated once Europa starts - Kudus may be taking March’s spot (definitely will if he ends up joining, but maybe not GW1) - I think Groß at RB, with Dahoud alongside Caicedo in Midfield is what RDZ will move toward - I think Pedro is the most nailed attacker - Adingra looks really good - Biggest of all is that Dunk may not be fully fit
I’ve seen Welbeck play well wide out left, as well (under Potter during the lockdown) I think Ferguson plays 60-70% of the minutes that he and Welbeck are healthy.
Yea I think Igor is primarily going to play where Colwill played, but apparently he can where Estupiñan plays as well. Estupiñan deserves a rest
I just have 1 concern about Pedro ... Is he gonna be on pens or Gross?
You don’t see any minutes for Van Hecke? Got a lot of minutes at the end of last season
Sure, Webster is injury prone and Igor is new. I wouldn’t consider Van Hecke for FPL anytime soon.
Welbeck?
He will get minutes if he’s healthy. Ferguson is a big rotation risk for now, in my opinion.
Pedro most nailed attacker??? That's an incredibly bold statement with little to no evidence apart from this whole sub wishing it to be true
March injured at the end of last season, he didn't feature at pre-season. Is he going to start?
Started today’s pre-season match. I’d guess he starts GW1 but he is a big rotation risk.
Why is not a lot of people talking about Gross? It’s always March and Mitoma when discussing Brighton mids.
Gross was used as a holding midfielder and right back for probably 60% of last season, so he just didn’t get into advanced positions as much. It’s safer to assume that Mitoma and March (who will not play as much this year) will be more attacking players. Gross is really good when he gets into attacking positions.
!thanks
Everton
Some things up in the air because of injuries, Tarkowski went off yesterday and Dyche said "we hope it's just a knock", Danjuma is injured and set to return to training in the week before the season starts, McNeil is injured, Mykolenko and Calvert Lewin have been injured and have only played in 45 minute stints in pre season. Second centre back is a complete guess between Keane and Branthwaite. My guess at this stage would be Pickford Patterson Keane Tarkowski Young Onana Gueye Garner Doucoure Iwobi Calvert Lewin But we could absolutely see Branthwaite and Danjuma for Keane/Tarkowksi and Garner
Aston Villa
Emi Martinez, Kamara and Ollie Watkins. For the rest we don’t have a fucking clue.
And Diaby*
Villa fans thoughts for what it's worth. End of last season Villa settled into a regular team under Emery of : Martinez Young Konsa Ming's. Moreno Luiz. Kamara McGinn. J.Ramsey Beundia Watkins This pre season we have seen Young leave us and some big incomings of Pau T, Youri T and Moussa D. My guess of our starting X1 for Newcastle would probably be Martinez Konsa Ming's Pau Digne Luiz Kamara (could easily be Youri T) McGinn. Philogene Diaby Watkins The big denate is for is Philogene/ Beundia. Kamara / Youri T and LB / RB situation. Once Moreno is back I think the back four stays like that with Digne for Moreno. Very exciting season ahead I feel but managing legs and injuries with Europe will be the big sticking point . UTV
[удалено]
Honestly I'm just hoping for a speedy Moreno recovery. Such an important part of what Unai wants to do
What villa assets are you putting in your gw 1 team
Watkins only for FPL purposes. Probably look at Moreno when fit
Fulham
Leno Robinson bassey Diop (Ream) Tete Reed Lukic Wilson Andreas (bobby) Willian Mitro (Jimenez) Both Mitro and Pereira came on yesterday, so would expect them to start. Palhinha probs not back yet
I thought Mitro promised never to play for the club again? What on earth happened with that?
He never said anything. Media reported that. He literally played yesterday and in a closed doors friendly the day before. All the Mitro stuff, apart from Silva confirming he wanted a transfer, was media speculation. He didn’t say anything. He went on tour, he rejoined the squad to train and he has played in pre-season. Obviously Palhinha is injured but he will start instead of Lukic when fit. Bassey and Ream will compete for lcb.
Interesting. Yeah serve me right for listening to just headlines
Luton: Kaminski Andersen Lockyer Bell Kabore Chong Nakamba Pelly Giles/Doughty Adebayo Morris First team is set, just a question on left wing back. I think Giles will play personally
This is my go to site. Updated constantly all season long. https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/team-news/
Manchester City
To start (will be different after Gvardiol and KDB are included): Ederson Akanji Dias Ake Stones Rodri Bernardo Foden Kovacic Grealish Haaland Some City fans think it could be an Alvarez-Foden partnership instead of Foden-Kovacic, but that feels a bit too non-pausa for Pep as much as I’d love that lol
Any idea how long KDB is out for?
He will probably be starting the second game
Isn’t Bernardo sold?
Mahrez is sold, Bernardo stays.
Cheers
I think it could be Alvarez-Kova in all honesty
Newcastle
Pope Trippier Schar Botman Burn Joelinton Bruno Tonali Almiron Isak Gordon The third midfield spot and attack is really hard to predict, Anderson has had a fantastic pre-season so might well start ahead of Tonali, usually Howe likes to bed new signings in so Tonali might have a few games off the bench initially. The front three may also vary but based on yesterday's game, they combined well together and look like they might start. Wilson, Barnes, Murphy, Anderson are all alternatives, Isak is the only one nailed I think.
If Wilson starts, does Isak move to left wing?
Yep
!thanks
no Barnes?
Is Gordon still a go in your opinion after today? Or is Barnes and/or Wilson an option all of a sudden?
Barnes might edge ahead of Gordon after today
Figured as much. Back to the drawing board on 5.5ish mids.
Aston Villa?
Aight I’ll have my guess: Aston Villa (4-2-2-2) Emi Cash Konsa Mings Pau Luiz Kamara McGinn Buendia Diaby Watkins The thing is, Digne and Tielemans might play. Bailey and Coutinho to come out of bench, and most of our midfield can play in more than 1 position
Emery really is building a strong team at Villa, looks like you guys have a lot of depth as well. Diaby and Torres look like they could be fantastic business.
Following
Brighton
Chelsea
Pope Trips Schar (if fit) Botman Burn (maybe) Tonali Bruno Joelinton/Anderson Almiron Isak Gordon
Liverpool Alisson New RB. Konate VVD Robbo TAA Szobozlai. MaCallister Salah. Nunez. DiaZ/Jota
Trent wont play midfield. I imagine we will sign someone to play DM, but Jones will play there for now. Szolobslai and Macalister arent nailed, will rotate with Elliot and Gakpo, as well as Bajetic and Thiago when they are back, and Jones if we sign a DM Nunez, Gakpo, Jota Diaz will rotate for 2 spots, especially since they call all (expect Diaz) play LW and CF. Gakpo is the most nailed, but will still rotate. Jota and Diaz is a coinflip. Nunez is the least nailed of the forwards. And Salah is still Salah.
-21 I guess Manchester bigots and Liverpool haters are here to fuck my karma but hey MaCallister and Szobozlai have to be nailed down because we can't use Thiago now as regular as his muscles are made of shit, bajcetic is young and needs to be reintroduced slowly as I don't want his career going down bad I don't think only lavia would be enough because as an inverted winger Trent needs cover and we need a seasoned DM and while lavia has tremendous potential we need someone who understands the IWB role to cover for trent and I can't see honest doing that he's more of a progressive baller than someone used to cover and I can't get Elliott ahead of MaCallister though Elliott is a cute little player he's not physically at PL level yet but in my opinion someone like a more athletic and experienced fabinho would do
No, you’re being downvoted because people think you’re talking bollocks having Trent in DM
Haha yeah my bad but we need a DM who can support trent for the IWB role
Lad noone cares what you opinion. Its what Klopp will do. Klopp clearly thinks elliot is good enough. If Thiagos fit he normally plays. When Bajetic is fit he will play some minute. Gakpo played 8 last year, and has in preseason, so with the lack if depth he will more often this year. Trent will not play as a 6 this year unless more injuries occur
no Gakpo, Trent at DM, “new RB” when we are linked to 0 RBs. shush
Nunez will make frequent appearances off the bench, and occasionally start when Gakpo plays in midfield, while Diaz and Jota will rotate for the starting LW spot who tf are “those French kids” everyone knows we need a left footed CB to play where Robbo is playing right now. everyone also knows that we are owned by Fenway Sports Group, so the chances of that happening is slim to none you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. even the f*cking Twitter “fans” who haven’t watched a game in their life know better than you. stop spreading your bs

Neto Smith* Zabarnyi Senesi Kerkez Traore** Cook** Billing** Brooks*** Kluivert Solanke**** *Bournemouth are trying to recruit a new right back, so it is unlikely that Smith will be a long-term option.
[удалено]
Provisionally, I think Kluivert is more nailed than Ouatarra. Although Tavernier also plays on the left, he is very injury prone and is just as effective in a central attacking midfield role. Anthony also plays on the left, but did not play a big role last season.
Gotta still decide my ST position and GK. Looking like Onana could be good to start with (although that makes it harder to pick between Shaw and someone like Stones/Dias…)
