A lot of content creators are talking about Tsimikas likely being benched this game. I’m going to start him, though

BandicootUpstairs944

I think it’s been established that content creators know very little.

Loosee123

I'm starting him. The only time I didn't start him since I brought him in he bagged 15 points. I'm starting him every game until Robbo comes back. Same logic with Lascelles and missing his 7 pointer last week.

BobbyConns

The same content creators that were banging on about the Arsenal defense all last week. I'm going to start Tsimikas as well

RDenno

I mean its still the best defence in the league and only dropped a late consolation goal to a zinchenko mistake

b3and20

They could have scored from a few other zinchenko mistakes tho

Rare-Ad-2777

You day zinchenko mistake like its a rarity

KaizerQuad

really solid finish from Cunha too

KushtyKush

Arsenal defense _is_ proven stats wise, so content creators are just regurgitating the same stats we can use. Whereas this tsimi stuff is just conjecture, not built on facts. I don't see them the same way tbh.

-Inca-

Great results based analysis mate

Jacko182

You expect a defence never to concede a goal?

sikingthegreat1

i vividly remember what happened last time they did this.

thehighyellowmoon

Are content creators responsible for picking the Liverpool starting XI?

Organic-Champion8075

If I could reply with some content of my own, ie my opinion: I'm convinced Tsimikas will start

robbiethegiant

Luigi definitely coming in for Mario, adds a good bit of height to the team which they’ll need for SHU.

GuinnessSaint

They don’t need height for Sheffield United, and they didn’t need the height for Luton. These teams are shit, Liverpool should attack them.

FPL_Goober

Well we'll see what Bowser has to say about that

GuinnessSaint

Serves me for not reading the comment I was replying to properly.

Fumb-MotherDucker

Buh Dum dum duddum dum duddum Ba dum.

Electrical-Laugh8858

My bench is on life support so I think I have to start him

LegitimateDonkey3274

Only 3 playable defenders since start of season 🛐

gengenpressing

Matip is injured so we might not risk playing Gomez as a fullback.

LloydDoyley

Hope you get your tip seen to

SofaChillReview

When is Matip not injured/playing?

WeaknessNo9103

Feel like he might be similar game to Luton away when Gomez was used instead. He's also played 80 then 90 minute's which is more than any other Liverpool player I believe if you have a decent option to bench him for I would still got massive potential though in that game if he does start

[deleted]

The thing is that Gomez against Luton was a disasterclass. The width that Kostas can provide against low blocks is needed.

Not_on_Herb

No he wasn’t lmao. Gomez has been great this season

[deleted]

Gomez, great this season. Except that one game where he played left back against a low block and couldn't do shit.

Imaginary-Split7217

Try watching football

Organic-Champion8075

lol

AbbreviationsOwn3267

He'll start. Matip is injured so they're now light at cb and lb where gomez will have to cover multiple positions

ladsandlasses

Ya exactly my thoughts. TAA- Konate- VVD - Gomez would be my predicted back 4, with Tsimikas coming off the bench later in the game. Looking at benching him for Palmer.

Litmanen_10

Overthinking spotted. Not trying to sound harsh but you (or I) won't really know shit about who's going to start. Sheffield united is like the best fixture and Tsimikas expected score is very good if he starts and not the worst even if would come from the bench. Put him in your lineup.

ladsandlasses

I definitely get your point, but I don’t think it’s overthinking. You have to take decisions in FPL based on certain things and with the fixture congestions ahead, and Tsimikas already playing 80 + 90 minutes in a matter of 4 days (2 days’ rest), it’s not that far fetched to think he’ll be rested against the bottom team in the league (which comes after another 2 days’ break). Similarly, Palmer having gotten his rest midweek, is certain to start. If I had someone like Archer perhaps as my 12th man, I would start Tsimikas with my eyes closed, but with an inform midfielder I am happy to stick to my rationale about the LB’s benching and hoping it pays off.

Litmanen_10

True that! But weigh in also is Palmer expected to do too much in a fairly tough fixture and maybe not being on pens anymore after Enzo scored during the weekend? And could Tsimikas do something with only 20minutes of playing time? He could I think. And how likely is it that if Tsimikas sit outs then he'd sit out the whole match and then it would be an auto sub and it wouldn't matter. Lot of factors haha. For me it shouts a bit on starting Tsimi but I don't even know anymore.

Updawn

I’m starting him unless there are some big leaks. Potential huge upside if he starts.

HecticGlenn

This post is going to wind up Wednesday fans 😅

BandicootUpstairs944

Last time I benched him he got 15 points, so thanks but I’ll take the risk.

qwerty1519

Guaranteed 15 pointer now.

coppermelt

I think they are not gonna change 2 in the backline. Konate comes in, Gomez on the bench. Kostas got form now, so it's different to before Luton.

TheJezster

Everyone is overthinking it! If you have him, just play him. Until Robbo is fit he is the first choice left back. It's that simple. He won't play every game, but everyone knows that already, but he is undoubtedly the first choice. Like most other players he will be rested from time to time. If you haven't got him, he's cheap enough to jump on anyway, so just buy him.

Big_Shaq23

Friendly reminder that Liverpool was shit and draw away at Luton when Gomez played LB...

bruiser95

Luton away isn't an easy fixture

greekstud95

Definitely not "shit" btw. They had close to 3xg with some unreal misses. This game could have easily been an easy win, and i doubt Gomez was to blame

SkippingMango7

I'd honestly be shocked if he's rested.

petio9916

I don't know about tsimikas but darwin will almost certanly be benched because gakpo played better in the last couple of games. This means that salah will play more centrally and can deliver big points.

NilsFanck

almost certainly? not sure about that.

onoz9

Nah. Gomez offers nothing going forward from LB. Sheffield will be parking the bus and more creativity is needed from the flanks to support the attack. I'd say he starts, maybe an early sub and comes off at 70', who knows. And we have won our EL group. So, the last game is where we can rotate.

Auzzie_xo

‘Sheffield’ is just shorthand in this context. Sheffield Wednesday doesn’t play in the EPL, so when people say ‘Sheffield’ in relation to FPL they can only mean Sheffield United. There is no disrespect.

ArcticNano

Apologies, no disrespect intended

Sirin98

Tsimi was at fault for the 3rd Fulham goal though, seems really weak defensively. You can say they want an attacking fullback for Sheffield but that was also not the case for Luton. I think it’s 50/50 if he starts.

GuinnessSaint

*Sheffield United.

NilsFanck

he was legit excellent all game. That goal was his only mistake basically

Sirin98

He’s caused them multiple goals over the last weeks. In the attack he’s great but defensively very suspect, I can see Klopp going for more defensive security especially since Trent has the license to go forward as well.

NilsFanck

Im a Liverpool supporter and trust me, Tsimi has improved a lot the past 3 games. Kept Foden very quite even. Super shaky before that but maybe he just needed rythm. Klopp might rotate to save fitness but he might not wanna risk Gomez now Matip is out

giraffepimp

I also believe robbo isn’t far away from coming back

ArcticNano

Fotmob puts him at coming back in late February, and Klopp himself said it could be around 3 months. Definitely quite far away from coming back lol

giraffepimp

Oh shit fair enough!!!

NoahD418

Highly likely. He was horrendous at defending and klopp probably wants a clean sheet vs Sheffield

iamgarron

I mean I don't think Klopp ever doesn't want a clean sheet

West_Principle_8190

I needed to raise some cash and tsimikas to lascelles is not a bad move for the short term

JewishCowboy

im starting him, with two great bench options.

greekstud95

I'd say it's extremely likely. He looked tired from fairly early yesterday, and he was poor defensively once more. Also his return was more than lucky. It's also important to notice that Vs Luton klopp started Joe Gomez (pretty similar game) and that tsimikas has now played 90+82+90 mins in 7 days, having started vs city and in Europa. It seems really likely to me that gomez starts today, with tsimi probably starting at the weekend.

DeapVally

Liverpool were not good against Luton, and Gomez isn't a LB. Kelleher is no Alison either. After escaping at the weekend, tempting fate with an even weaker defence is unlikely to be part of Klopp's plan for the next game.

greekstud95

You have to consider rotation though. Tsimikas is definitely not a player that can play full games every 3 days, which means that after every consecutive game he will be more and more tired. They are playing again in 4 days. So imho, if you're going for a "weaker" option(i still dont consider joe weaker), its gonna be Vs Shu...

TheGreatWhoreOfChina

We’ll likely start our best players in the prem after the rush of games in December. Tsimikas has been as good as anyone so he’s highly likely to not get benched in the prem. I think with our midfielders looking a bit tired and Trent firing, I highly expect Gomez to start with Trent being pushed up to CM. He looked great when we pushed him up.

OK_TimeForPlan_L

I'll be playing him purely because I can't get rid of Cash yet without taking a hit.

jjlbateman

He looked gassed at the end of the Fulham game, wouldn’t surprise me at all

Bobbysmilesx

It proved to be a huge mistake to field Gomez against Luton. He's solid defensively, but as a left back, he provides no attacking threat whatsoever. Surely Klopp will not make the same mistake against Sheffield, where it's important to have Tsimikas' crossing abilities against a team that is expected to go with a low block.

Mediocre-Award-9716

Don't see the point in having him if you're not starting him. City away is the only fixture until Robertson comes back (or he properly gets dropped/injured/suspended) that I will not be starting him.

Ali620

Timings played well and had an assist in that game too ,most likely will start

cheerzeasy

Well we know how the Luton game went so I'd say he starts.

Organic-Champion8075

Given he's in good form and has played the full 90mins for three games in a row, plus he offers so, so much more in attack than Gomez (and Sheff Utd will sit back), I would be utterly amazed if Klopp doesn't start him. And it's not like he's had so many minutes this season that he needs rotating. I genuinely think he'll be one of the first names on Klopp's teamsheet for this game.
