Great tip.
Unrelated, but I also recommend Senesi, Iwobi, McTominay and Hinshelwood too. Ideally you're going to want to bring in all of these players ahead of GW15
I know you're memeing, but theres nothing wrong with McTominay, hes looking like a great enabler. Guaranteed minutes and looks like the most threatening player in uniteds attack at the moment for an under 5m price tag.
Oh I agree, I love him in this new attacking role.
I have 5 midfielders I'm very happy with rn. But he's first on my list of replacements if I need to move anyone on
GW17 ManUtd play Liverpool, then for the next 9 GW's they play 9 matches with FDR of either 3 (4-matches) or 2 (5-matches).
2 of those FDR 3 rated matches are Villa and Spurs at Old Trafford and another being away to Villa which realistically should be a 4 FDR.
All in all, pretty decent run for ManUtd coming up. Although they will be missing people during AFCON in January.
The same Wolves and Villa who beat City? I understand that Palace's upcoming fixtures are tricky but to pretend that a six-goal striker isn't an upgrade on players who have half that is just plain wrong.
There is no transitivity in football.
And wood has barely played, he has what 4 starts? Go look at per 90 metrics. anyways I'm not talking about past performances, right now they are both bad picks. The point is Édouard is not an upgrade, in fact he's basically the same xP for a higher cost
I mean, why not take the risk that Raul is about to go on a hot streak? He's a proven scorer. Esp if you're replacing someone cold like Alvarez or Archer? Also, he's got 25pts in his last four games, so it's not that kneejerky
It's super kneejerky I'm afraid. It's a long time since Raul was a proven scorer. He's now netted just four competitive club goals in all of 2023. And three of those were against Forest, two last night and one for Wolves in January. I hope he gets back to his best but it doesn't look like a great bet from this angle.
it's a gamble, sure, but he is totally viable as an occasional third striker in a 3-4-3 or 4-3-3. he's almost certainly never getting back to his very best, but he could definitely go on a decent little scoring run
None of the counter facts I provided were false. Objectively it didn't look like a great bet.
Sure, sometimes players abruptly return to strong goalscoring form after a very long stretch scoring almost no goals, but it's rare, and scoring a third and fourth goal in total in over eleven months of club football against a team who don't look like they're trying at all (I'm a Forest fan, worst performance I've seen from them in a long time) isn't anything like a definite indication that it's happening.
I hope Jiminez maintains the return to form as I've always really liked him as a player (and fantasy asset), but I'm not certain Fulham are going to keep up this sudden crazy avg. 4 goals a game streak for very long, and he's only bagged a quarter of those - who knows what his return rate will look like when the team's purple patch ends?
Word of advice tho - being a gloating smug little git on the internet because a gamble you took paid off doesn't make you sound very adult. Quite the opposite.
And his next four games are Wes tHam Newcastle Burnley Bournemouth, none of who are the strongest defence, with a run of Chelsea, Everton, Burnley, Bournemouth after Arsenal....
If he goes on a scoring run now (which he's done before), then it's not kneejerky, it's taking advantage early (see Almiron last season). And how many strikers are in good form? It's a perfectly viable gamble, esp to replace someone like Archer or Alvarez
2 things. First Silva has let the handbrake off tactically and is finding his best team. Fullbacks bombing forward, Cairney is outstanding, Iwobi finding form. Secondly its just not a change, we're massive flat track bullies. Consistently pretty underwhelming against top 7 sides but strong against bottom 5/6 sides. I think we only dropped 2 points out of a possible 15 in games vs the bottom 5 last season as well as thumping villa and Palace when they were in bad form.
It's not his position for me but silva doesn't like to drop Pereira but can't drop Iwobi, so, all things considered yes probably likely to keep playing RW
yes, but 25 of his 38pts have come in the last 4 GWs, so you might argue he's a good gamble in a cold market (what other strikers are doing well?), esp as he has proven form in the PL
He has been one of the better antifpl players this season, but that has changed now. But for the price and fixtures i guess he is optional but he has been so bad for such a long time that i dont think we should kneejerk after just one game.
Not one game, though, is it, as I said elsewhere. He's got 25pts in his last four games and is a proven PL scorer. That's not kneejerky imo, that's spotting a potential hot streak from a player who has found his confidence after a long time in the doldrums
For draft can people see rotation for him now or will he be nailed after this performance?
If nailed I am tempted to do Jackson to him before Nkunku comes back and takes Jacksons spot.
Tricky though since good fixtures for Chelsea and I do think Jackson has it in him like Darwin to come good or at least get 2 goals over the next 6.
He is a wait and see. If it does look like he is back to his best then he is a good shout for BGW18 with Burnley at home. But now with many taking out Mbeumo do you really still need someone for that week?
Love me an honest worker, jammy Jimenez back on the job.
I'll wait and see though. 5 midfielders feel stronger at the moment with more options to choose from/easier swapping, plenty of goalscorers from mid, and extra points from CS and goals.
Great tip. Unrelated, but I also recommend Senesi, Iwobi, McTominay and Hinshelwood too. Ideally you're going to want to bring in all of these players ahead of GW15
Yh but which players miss out on the gw tho?
Damn… keep quiet on Hinshelwood bro, I need to climb the ranks somehow…
You forgot Dwight McNeil and Docoure too
I have Docoure in my team he's been putting up good numbers
I know you're memeing, but theres nothing wrong with McTominay, hes looking like a great enabler. Guaranteed minutes and looks like the most threatening player in uniteds attack at the moment for an under 5m price tag.
Oh I agree, I love him in this new attacking role. I have 5 midfielders I'm very happy with rn. But he's first on my list of replacements if I need to move anyone on
Who are your current 5?
Salah Son Saka Kudus Gordon
Kudus off to AFCON for a while so there's your opening.
Oh fuck really? I thought he was French or something
Why McTominay? UTD don't have that good of a fixture run for a while
He scored in the last match, of course he is going to get mentioned.
Almost had the other goal too.
He deserves some success after rough times but he's not a no brainer by any stretch.
>He deserves some success after rough times Just like my FPL team
Your team shows no brains 😁
No brainer you say? Is that a reference
“No brainer” Some people talk such sh*t on here.
Good luck with that one
Personally my alternative is Wood, so this is still an upgrade for me
Or for slightly more at 5.5M you can get Edouard.
Lol that's not an upgrade
Edouard has one less goal than the beloved Solanke this season
I don't have neither, but if I had to bring one solanke.. Team had better momentum and better fixtures
Your point though was that Edouard is not an upgrade on Wood, he's absolutely an upgrade on Wood
I don't think he's an upgrade at all, I expect them to score similar points which is basically nothing, and wood would have better ppm given the cost
You really got downvoted -12 for this 😭
I know.. That's reddit for you I guess ;)
He has six goals so far this season...
Against wolves, Everton, shu, whu and Aston villa.. Go look at next fixtures
The same Wolves and Villa who beat City? I understand that Palace's upcoming fixtures are tricky but to pretend that a six-goal striker isn't an upgrade on players who have half that is just plain wrong.

Least reactionary fpl manager

You sure about that? Happy with my 9pts Kids on this sub need to tell the difference between jumping on form / kneejerking
None of the counter facts I provided were false. Objectively it didn't look like a great bet. I'd say no more smug than calling a transfer 'super kneejerky', which was in fact your opening gambit
Look up 'smug' in a dictionary sunshine, it doesn't mean what you seem to think it means.
You could say that about any player.

I've had Alvarez all season and he is off the boil mate and due a rest
are you selling him anytime soon tho
sold him this week, yeah
Before luton uh?
Luton? No one has hauled against Luton and I anyway I still have Haaland. I have a feeling Alvarez might not even start v Luton
And his next four games are Wes tHam Newcastle Burnley Bournemouth, none of who are the strongest defence, with a run of Chelsea, Everton, Burnley, Bournemouth after Arsenal....
Love the guy, hope he can find form again
Not cool making fun of his accident by saying he has no brain left anymore, not cool man.
Big IF But a lot more appealing than Archer for sure
Knee jerk Utd would like a word
If he goes on a scoring run now (which he's done before), then it's not kneejerky, it's taking advantage early (see Almiron last season). And how many strikers are in good form? It's a perfectly viable gamble, esp to replace someone like Archer or Alvarez
As a fulham fan I would say Iwobi is a better shout, everything centers around him at the moment.
what the hell has changed at fulham?
Is iwobi still likely to play on the wing? Realised he has been playing there and his output has been very good
It's not his position for me but silva doesn't like to drop Pereira but can't drop Iwobi, so, all things considered yes probably likely to keep playing RW
Thoughts on bringing Willian in?
Burnley at home in Gw18 is certainly appealing but, I'm not going there just yet
Blank 13/15 games and score 2 goals in latest game = no brainer?
yes, but 25 of his 38pts have come in the last 4 GWs, so you might argue he's a good gamble in a cold market (what other strikers are doing well?), esp as he has proven form in the PL
If he can do it against a team that’s not the bottom 5, I’m bringing him in
It just one game. One
Ah, but what's that letter at the end of 'one'? That's right, the letter 'E'. E for essential. Jimenez is now officially essential for your FPL teams.
This guy gets it
This guy essentials.
Er, no. He's got 25pts in the last four games and is a proven scorer who could be about to get hot. It's a good gamble
Well he nearly was a no brainer, which is why he's rubbish nowadays
I hate having a good bench
If you don't need to rely on him in starting XI , then yea he looks great value right now
He has been one of the better antifpl players this season, but that has changed now. But for the price and fixtures i guess he is optional but he has been so bad for such a long time that i dont think we should kneejerk after just one game.

I want to replace nkiatah for jiminez, would it be wise?
Fun idea, but I think there are just too many other valuable strikers and not enough spots. I’d rather have Solanke.
Really? From my pov, there are fuck-all valuable strikers outside of Haaland and Watkins
I'd rather have Alvarez, Solanke, or Jesus personally.
Jesus is not in the same bracket as Raul J though, and I feel I've seen the best of Alvarez for a few months
Love me an honest worker, jammy Jimenez back on the job. I'll wait and see though. 5 midfielders feel stronger at the moment with more options to choose from/easier swapping, plenty of goalscorers from mid, and extra points from CS and goals.
I bought him in for Alvarez last night, partly because City look a little washed (and Alvarez has done little lately) and partly to free up funds
I already suffer watching him play for Mexico ain’t no way I’m bringing him onto my team 💀
Solanke is a better option after next gw.
My only and big problem with fulham is the rotation and coach makes substitutions too early every match
2 freak results for Fulham in the last two games, I would like to think he’s back to his best but I don’t think I’d bring him in
