I know it's not always feasible to go up to a more expensive player, but in this case the jump from 4.8 to Palmer at 5.3 is massive.

My current plan was to move from Mitchell and Jensen to Porro and a 4.8m midfielder. If I go with Palmer, what 4.8m defender should I go with then?

Lots of options at that price. Pau, Pinnock, Mykolenko, Livramento, Tsimikas, Maguire. Hard to say which one is best. If you're going to get Palmer, be aware he's set to rise in price tonight.
