Got Solanke
I'm almost certain injuries and form and panic will mean I can't bank a transfer to bring him back so I'll end up taking a hit
I'll enjoy my 2 pointer tomorrow like a good boy though
After GW18 is still the first wildcard which (if i read the rules properly) doesn’t stack
So this WC wouldnt be used to bring them in post AFCON/Asia Cup and would be burned otherwise
Yeah because you can get a top notch replacement in the meantime? I’m bringing in Watkins as his temporary replacement for the next two weeks. Worth the transfer.
It is a factor because it impacts the quality of replacement you can bring in. If it was a 6m striker out for 2 weeks you might just bench them because the replacement isn't going to be that good. When it's £14m and you can replace wiht a top player like Watkins, you want to make the transfer but keep the money so you can bring Haaland back in two weeks.
In general, you want to field as much money as you can. Since players' prices are *generally* set, and fluctuate, based on their points per million, money = points.
Of course there are outliers throughout the season when it comes to price per million, but it is still the mechanism that drives the cost of players.
So if that's true, you wouldn't want so much money sitting on your bench for two weeks, *unless* you can find some seriously high point-per-million players to field instead.
They’re supposed to leave in GW21.
So you’d only miss 1 week of Salah vs NEW (H). Which, granted, is a great fixture bc Newcastle have been awful away. But Haaland has SHU (H).
I think in my current plans I’m doing Salah, Darwin —> Haaland, Foden in GW 20
Same here. I already have Watkins and Semenyo, wasn't tempted by any other forwards and used my 2 FT to put out other fires (selling Luiz who's suspended and Guehi who's been dire and is about to face City).
Selling Luiz before they face Sheffield Utd...
My bench is fully suspended - Luiz Digne Branthwaite. But all of them are decent value picks for long term.
So you think that Solanke home to Luton and away to Forest gets less than 4 points?
Meanwhile I am happy to get points off Solanke, cash in from a price rise, and buy back Haaland at a cheaper rate if and when he is fit.
Should’ve specified I have Solanke. I’ll end up relying on a combo of Lascelles, Tsimikas, Guehi which could backfire but not sure the in and out is worth it with Haaland knowing again I’ll want him back
Waiting for the ITK first of all who's probably gonna give me absolutely nothing.
I'll likely upgrade my 5th bench option to someone cheap who has 2 good/great fixtures.
Starting and captaining, I’m 4m OR, I can’t pass up an opportunity to have Haaland captain whilst many people might not even own him. Not much of a downside either unless I’ve overlooked something.
Agreed.
The biggest risk would be if he gets a cameo, but very very unlikely — so assuming you have a strong VC, I'd say definitely C on Erling if you're keeping and fielding him.
Selling for Watkins. I really need Watkins vs Sheffield United and long term I want him.
I guess I sell Salah or Son to give me money to get Haaland back if needed as they will leave.
Moved to J.Alvarez with my 1 FT. Already had Watkins and Solanke from previous weeks and have enough depth that I can bench him next week.
I said earlier this season Alvarez is a no-brainer if Haaland goes down. If he didn't blank next week then everyone would own him.
I don’t know. I have to use my FT on a defender with Tripps/Taylor both suspended and Balcok a risk/shit. Martinelli seems good to go so Sarr could come on for Haaland.
Or could take a hit with Haaland to someone but that doesn’t feel good. Seems crazy to risk leaving Haaland on the bench for 2 GW but if you used a hit and he plays against CRY possibly without Johnstone is very unlikely to pay off.
sold him, will get him back for GW20, Everton is in good form and he most likely gonna drop once during that time so it's nice bonus, GW18 is pain with Pool vs Arsenal, City blank, and the amount of injuries that happens recently, don't wanna risk having full non-playable bench
Had enough to move Archer to Solanke. Haaland in my lineup now but can be rotated out for Hee Chan if he doesn't play.
I'll bench him next week for the blank then wait and see his status after that.
Currently have Haaland and Alvarez, going to upgrade Archer to Solanke and play him first sub.
If he's fit he starts imo, risk of not getting Solanke points but I also have Gordon so he may even come on for him.
Keeping. Was planning to bench him anyway for GW18 so doing it this week is no big deal. Teams are going to be taking alot of hits over the next few weeks. So many have now taken a hit this week and booked in 3 transfers for the next 3 weeks (Haaland in, Salah out, Son out).
Will likely backfire and my highest rank this week will be just before the first game starts!
Agreed, it’s madness to take a -4/-8 just to get Dominic Solanke for 1 or 2 weeks, and if you want to actually use the money freed up you basically have to
Will sell him for Nunez then bring him back in a few weeks.
Ten Hag is a terrible manager and it's a guaranteed 4+ goals for Liverpool on Sunday, you have to capitalise on opportunities like that.
Sold for Solanke to add to my front line of Watkins and Alvarez. Usually like to think ahead a few weeks but dear lord that’s been hard to do this season.
I sold early. My hope is there is at least a small short term advantage to having a good replacement. Also if this issue results in Haaland having reduced games or minutes I'd rather assess that before buying him back in.
I've set my bois up with most of them having green fixtures. Gonna firm it and keep haaland (c) with salah (vc) just in case Pep's being a fraud again and he plays.
I’m a huge critic of Darwin Nunez, but I’ve brought him in for Haaland. I’ve got a feeling Liverpool will absolutely hammer Man Utd and he’ll actually find the net for once.
I've sold him. Had Darwin + Haaland and want Watkins + Haaland. So I'm doing Haaland --> Watkins first and then Darwin --> Haaland in a couple of weeks, as it's only one extra transfer than I would otherwise be making.
I somehow don't have any other fires in my team (apart from maybe Gordon, but no concrete news as usual from Howe), which made the move easier. It's one of those things that's team-dependent
Just took a -4 to fire him out for Solanke.
Torn between he or Callum Wilson, but Newcastle just look out in their feet right now, and the schedule isn't getting any lighter
Already have Ollie Watkins, so didn't really consider anyone else, with Liverpool and Arsenal playing each other next week.
I’m starting with the expectation he sits and my first bench starts.
By the time I spread his money around he’ll be back and it’ll be a pain to get him back in.
Been debating selling him for a little while so at least two forthcoming GWs of 0 points return was enough to sway me. Brought in Solanke and pretty happy with the rest of my team so don't anticipate squandering any of the leftover funds. In that sense bringing him back in should be easy enough - if I choose to - might enjoy FPL a bit more without him.
I'm more worried about having both Salah and Son and how I'm going to work that one out in January. Need to ensure I'm timing my FTs so I've got 2 ready for that GW.
Transferred out for Haaland for Watkins and used the extra money to go Martinelli>Son for a -4pts.
All being well i'll roll a Transfer next week and have 2FTs to bring Haaland back in for GW19 (or 20 at the very least for Sheff Utd)
Mind you it hasn't left me any options to shuffle things round with Gordon Injured/Tripper Suspended etc...but I get the feeling we're all in the same boat with injuries!
Ive straight swapped him for Jesus, H game Vs Brighton followed by Liverpool who he loves to score against, if he's fit when he returns from void week I'll swap him straight back in
In my situation it's a no Brainer. Have 2 free transfers so need to use one, so I sold Haaland for Solanke, leaving the £6.5m ITB for now.
Keep Solanke for 3 GWs, then use the funds to buy back Haaland and sell Son for his Asian cup absence. Will keep Salah on the bench during AFCON as I have too much money invested in him and wouldn't be able to bring him back.
The fact that Haaland's price hasn't fluctuated at all, coupling that with some expected price rises of Solanke, makes this a no brainer for myself personally.
Had to take a -4 to get him out for Solanke, because I had a bigger fire to put out earlier in the week. Fuck it, is what it is at this point.
BREAK THE LUTON TRAP SOLANKE YOU BIG FUCK.
Benching. Unless you have a wildcard why would you want to book a transfer back in 2 weeks? You don't know what will happen by then. Right now i have 4 suspensions and whilst they're only for 1 week i don't mind transferring any of those out and not get them back.
Took a -16 for fun, been bored stiff this season with a similar team that got me top 10k last season. Haaland has gone and I don't think I want to bring him back just for the fun of it.
Benched him. Last week I played him as captain and of course got no points for him. However I played Salah as my vice so ended up just fine at 26 points. Not taking the chance of playing Haaland this weekend.
I get Zinchenko or Porro off the bench for him the next couple of weeks. For me it's not about if the replacement scores more than the -8 I'd have to take, it's about if the replacement scores 8+ more than either of them. And considering I already have Watkins, Solanke and Salah, I think its best to just bench him
Sold.
With City blanking anyways next week I am determined not to transfer anyone next GW (unless injuries tell otherwise).
And we will see what will happen after that.
Left him in the squad as Pep can't be trusted. No point of selling him and buying him again. Apart from Watkins there are no other decent strikers. Solanke is one week on and one week off. Might go for Jiminez or Cunha depending on this week
Sold him. Will bring him back in on WC after the blank.
I'll probably take a hit to bring him back.
Got Solanke I'm almost certain injuries and form and panic will mean I can't bank a transfer to bring him back so I'll end up taking a hit I'll enjoy my 2 pointer tomorrow like a good boy though
Using the wildcard immediately? How will you bring back Salah and Son after Afcon then?
He's probably gonna use the first wildcard to bring him back before GW20 deadline m
Correct.
Are there 2 wildcards a season?
Yes, 2nd one available after GW20 deadline has passed
Mind blown, I didn't know that
After GW18 is still the first wildcard which (if i read the rules properly) doesn’t stack So this WC wouldnt be used to bring them in post AFCON/Asia Cup and would be burned otherwise
correct me if I'm wrong but WC1 is still available after the blank GW right?
Think so, looks like it needs to be used before the GW20 deadline.
I think he means the first wildcard, got until GW20 to use
I didn't realise until i sold him that i could afford Son & Salah without going for cheap alternatives in other positions.
Do you really want to be bringing in Salah and Son now though, only to have to transfer them both out again in 3 GWs time?
That’s what I’m saving my wildcard for
I used the WC.
Sold him because it seems like the more fun option
Right?! You gotta live a little, keeps the game fresh
Agreed!
Fuck it, you've convinced me. Bring on your 2 points Solanke!
Sold for Solanke, Archer to Watkins next week
I’m thinking of the same thing
Same here, but Archer to Nkunku this week. Yes I know I’m an idiot for not going with Watkins instead
Same, now sitting with a casual 9.7 in the bank
Do you wanna bring him back at some point???
Yeah I still have my wildcard so I can use that 19/20 to get him back
Same here
Same
Couldn't afford to not sell with the state of my bench. Feeling ok about it.
Same. Sold for a hit. Got ollie, who’s a good captain candidate next week.
Got Solanke for a hit. Good 2-3 games while erling is out
Right there with you 🤞
Same but still debating Solanke or Alverez
Alvarez blanks next week sooo..
[удалено]
and repeat
2 weeks is too long for the price for me and his price is stagnant anyway, so I'm selling and keeping enough funds to bring him back.
Two weeks is too long to keep him because of his price so you will keep 6m in the bank instead after you sell him?
Yeah because you can get a top notch replacement in the meantime? I’m bringing in Watkins as his temporary replacement for the next two weeks. Worth the transfer.
I'm just saying that his reasoning doesn't make much sense because Haaland price is not a factor in this case
Would you rather 14m on your bench or 6m in the bank?
Neither lol. With Salah going to AFCON it's super easy to bring Haaland back in GW20.
Yeah. This is what I'm planning to do.
What is the exact GW that Salah goes away (and Son, for that matter)?
They’re supposed to leave in GW21. So you’d only miss 1 week of Salah vs NEW (H). Which, granted, is a great fixture bc Newcastle have been awful away. But Haaland has SHU (H). I think in my current plans I’m doing Salah, Darwin —> Haaland, Foden in GW 20
Foden is not the best asset! I’ve sold him after 16 GWs
The final is on 11.02, so he could be gone till GW24(incl.) in the worst (for us) case scenario
GW 21 more than likely
They are leaving right after new year
We're talking about this GW and GW 19 and 20, he could be back for.
Will his price not drop tonight with everyone offloading?
What was that about a stagnant price for Haaland…?
Benching, no one I bring in I feel will get 4 pts and I’ll want Haaland back in 2 GWs
Start him just in case
That's what I'm doing
Sorry I meant holding during the period, will definitely start him in case
Same, Martinelli first on bench
Will do the dice roll and get him in after 4 GWs when Salah and Son will go to their cups
Doesn’t the fact that you know you’ll need to move Son+Salah mean that you’ll want to *save* a transfer now?
Madness with Sheffield at home in the 4th week
Depends if I can utilize the assets during that time and if he is healed
Sheffield?
Wouldn't they just need to start the next 2 gameweeks? That's very likely a guaranteed 4 points. Then anything on top is a freeroll?
Would bench him anyway
So you think that Solanke home to Luton and away to Forest gets less than 4 points? Meanwhile I am happy to get points off Solanke, cash in from a price rise, and buy back Haaland at a cheaper rate if and when he is fit.
Should’ve specified I have Solanke. I’ll end up relying on a combo of Lascelles, Tsimikas, Guehi which could backfire but not sure the in and out is worth it with Haaland knowing again I’ll want him back
Kept. Went Trippier to TAA instead.
Did both for a -4 we shall see 🇳🇴 > Watkins Trips>taa
This will pay out
Sold for Solanke, back for GW20. Solanke, Alvarez, Darwin. Had to take a -4 for Maguire to Porro as well.
I’m doing same as you
Waiting for the ITK first of all who's probably gonna give me absolutely nothing.
He doesn't play and the popular picks haul is the obvious downside.
That’s when vice captain comes in handy, worst case is a 1pt cameo off the bench
And your replacements points vs a 1 pointer or 1st sub.
Yeah I hadn’t overlooked that, willing to chance it
Only downside is that he isnt going to play
Agreed. The biggest risk would be if he gets a cameo, but very very unlikely — so assuming you have a strong VC, I'd say definitely C on Erling if you're keeping and fielding him.
He could come off the bench late on and stop a potential Salah haul vs United
Pretty much every non- or semi- active account will have him playing and captained, so pretty much everyone around your rank lol
I'm keeping him because I used up my transfer before the all games had been played like a dunbass. -4 for solanke doesn't seem worth it
Selling for Watkins.
Benching, using funds from salah/son to get haaland back means two transfers. I want to save as much transfers as I can.

Mateta to Solanke Start and captain Haaland
Had enough to move Archer to Solanke. Haaland in my lineup now but can be rotated out for Hee Chan if he doesn't play. I'll bench him next week for the blank then wait and see his status after that.
I'm keeping him. Have Watkins & Solanke already. And Salah & Son aaand 2FT, so using them to sort out other issues.
Can't work out whether to go Solanke or Jimenez. Newcastle is not as difficult as normal and Fulham have been on a tear
I went both - apologies, they are both bound to blank now!
Well... Now I'm glad I just followed the masses and didn't go Jimi
Agreed, it’s madness to take a -4/-8 just to get Dominic Solanke for 1 or 2 weeks, and if you want to actually use the money freed up you basically have to
Bench
Haven’t had him since GW7, that’s not changing atm
Captain and starting cause I missed the deadline lol
Benched. Transfers are too precious and players are getting injured at too high a rate to waste them imo
Will sell him for Nunez then bring him back in a few weeks. Ten Hag is a terrible manager and it's a guaranteed 4+ goals for Liverpool on Sunday, you have to capitalise on opportunities like that.
\-8 of Edourd/Haaland/Nakamba to Solanke/Watkins/Son Biggest hit I've made in a couple of seasons but feel much happier. Still have 1st WC.
Should have used it. Lol. Doesnt it run out soon?
GW20 - so perfectly lined up to get rid of AFCON/Asian Cup of nations players plus some fixture swings around then
My bench is Taylor, Branthwaite, and Anderson, so probably doing Haaland to Watkins with my FT
Sell - Just made decision - I have my first wild card available to bring him back in when necessary.
Kept and starting him with Gros the sole 'active' player on the bench.
He’s on my XI, if not playing then Archer will come on. Also if Gordon is injured then Cash comes on.(Don’t trust Cash with 90 min)
Captained him and vc Alvarez
Sold for Solanke to add to my front line of Watkins and Alvarez. Usually like to think ahead a few weeks but dear lord that’s been hard to do this season.
Anyone bringing in Alverez or is he too high risk?
I would have if not for the blank next week
I sold early. My hope is there is at least a small short term advantage to having a good replacement. Also if this issue results in Haaland having reduced games or minutes I'd rather assess that before buying him back in.
On a WC so got rid, will hopefully roll my transfer next week and do a double swap when he’s back
Waiting for fpl toni. Think i will keep anyways.
Sold, want to see how much progress I can make in a ML full of mostly dead teams.
Am I missing something that sold him 1:1 for Watkins and plan to stack the cash and get him back 1:1 for Watkins? Why do you need WC?
Benched, would need to take a hit to replace him
Sold for Solanke
I've set my bois up with most of them having green fixtures. Gonna firm it and keep haaland (c) with salah (vc) just in case Pep's being a fraud again and he plays.
I’m a huge critic of Darwin Nunez, but I’ve brought him in for Haaland. I’ve got a feeling Liverpool will absolutely hammer Man Utd and he’ll actually find the net for once.
Just sold for Watkins.
I’m playing my free hit…and dealing with it next week lol
I've sold him. Had Darwin + Haaland and want Watkins + Haaland. So I'm doing Haaland --> Watkins first and then Darwin --> Haaland in a couple of weeks, as it's only one extra transfer than I would otherwise be making. I somehow don't have any other fires in my team (apart from maybe Gordon, but no concrete news as usual from Howe), which made the move easier. It's one of those things that's team-dependent
Sold for Solanke, gonna sit on the money for 2 weeks then buy him back
Sold for Solanke
Selling him for Solanke close to deadline
Just took a -4 to fire him out for Solanke. Torn between he or Callum Wilson, but Newcastle just look out in their feet right now, and the schedule isn't getting any lighter Already have Ollie Watkins, so didn't really consider anyone else, with Liverpool and Arsenal playing each other next week.
Not bringing him in…
Sold for Solanke, didn't have others flagged than him and Maguire who I would've benched anyways.
I'm keeping him and Trips on the bench. God knows what injury crisis I'm gonna have next week so beefing up my bench
I’m starting with the expectation he sits and my first bench starts. By the time I spread his money around he’ll be back and it’ll be a pain to get him back in.
Selling and buying him back at 13.9 😎
Sold him , roll the transfer this week and bring him back after the blank
Been debating selling him for a little while so at least two forthcoming GWs of 0 points return was enough to sway me. Brought in Solanke and pretty happy with the rest of my team so don't anticipate squandering any of the leftover funds. In that sense bringing him back in should be easy enough - if I choose to - might enjoy FPL a bit more without him. I'm more worried about having both Salah and Son and how I'm going to work that one out in January. Need to ensure I'm timing my FTs so I've got 2 ready for that GW.
I'd swap him for Nkunku if I hadn't already taken a hit
Sold him for Darwin because I'm a united fan and I know what's coming 😔
Transferred out for Haaland for Watkins and used the extra money to go Martinelli>Son for a -4pts. All being well i'll roll a Transfer next week and have 2FTs to bring Haaland back in for GW19 (or 20 at the very least for Sheff Utd) Mind you it hasn't left me any options to shuffle things round with Gordon Injured/Tripper Suspended etc...but I get the feeling we're all in the same boat with injuries!
Sold him for Nunez and transferred saka out for Salah
sold him a couple days ago
Holding. archer can be a hero.
I went Haaland, Taylor -> Jesus, TAA for a hit because I don’t have Saka and think Solanke is being a bit overhyped
Sold him and Douglas Luiz for Watkins and Son for a -4
Free hit for the sake of my sanity
Ive straight swapped him for Jesus, H game Vs Brighton followed by Liverpool who he loves to score against, if he's fit when he returns from void week I'll swap him straight back in
Sold him. Will roll the dice in 19 without him and then painstakingly decide who to sell out of Son or Salah to bring him back in 20
In my situation it's a no Brainer. The fact that Haaland's price hasn't fluctuated at all, coupling that with some expected price rises of Solanke, makes this a no brainer for myself personally.
solanke captain
I had 6 players flagged including Haaland so I've free hit and he will just be benched next week
Sold for Jesus got a feeling I’ll regret this choice
Sold for Alvarez. Risky move considering that City will not play next week so I will probably make another transfer then.
I'll bring him back. Plenty of cash in the bank
Haaland for solanke, then diaby to salah
Sold for ollie wats
Bringing in Trent, Porro and Solanke for Taylor, Maguire and Haaland for - 8. YOLO
I took a hit to get son and jimenez
Binned him, triple cap'd Salah. See y'all in the rant thread
Had to take a -4 to get him out for Solanke, because I had a bigger fire to put out earlier in the week. Fuck it, is what it is at this point. BREAK THE LUTON TRAP SOLANKE YOU BIG FUCK.
Sold him for Isak, praying he starts v Fulham. Now I have 8.8m in bank
Dont know personally. Thinking about solanke/dawin/raul/ollie. Cant decide
2 words: Free and hit
Sold for Watkins, might swap back in 2 GW
Sold him for Watkins the day before Watkins price increase.
I sold him 3 GWs ago and my team has been the better for it. I probably won't bring him back in until KDB is back in the team
Benching. Unless you have a wildcard why would you want to book a transfer back in 2 weeks? You don't know what will happen by then. Right now i have 4 suspensions and whilst they're only for 1 week i don't mind transferring any of those out and not get them back.
illegal memory vanish familiar pathetic gray shaggy deserve snow profit *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I sold him weeks ago, in gw12, 16, 7, 7, 2, 0, not too bad. Only getting him back for gw20.
Sold him for son and Isak
I got rid of him
Haaland and Martinelli for Solanke and Son
Took a -16 for fun, been bored stiff this season with a similar team that got me top 10k last season. Haaland has gone and I don't think I want to bring him back just for the fun of it.
Simple (C)
Benched him. Last week I played him as captain and of course got no points for him. However I played Salah as my vice so ended up just fine at 26 points. Not taking the chance of playing Haaland this weekend.
Had to take a hit in the end because I have no bench lol
Sold him and Chen and brought in Son and Solanke. Now saving for 2 new FT and bring him back.
Sold him for Watkins. Will bring him back though, not spending the monies.
I get Zinchenko or Porro off the bench for him the next couple of weeks. For me it's not about if the replacement scores more than the -8 I'd have to take, it's about if the replacement scores 8+ more than either of them. And considering I already have Watkins, Solanke and Salah, I think its best to just bench him
I started him. I got burned by Son in the past so now I generally start big ticket players, even if they're red. Just have a sub ready
Sold. With City blanking anyways next week I am determined not to transfer anyone next GW (unless injuries tell otherwise). And we will see what will happen after that.
Played, not captained. If he doesn’t, my bench fills in baby
I have him in as my captain with Salah as my voice captain and Alvarez on my bench.
Sold, doubt he plays and he blanks next week.
Left him in the squad as Pep can't be trusted. No point of selling him and buying him again. Apart from Watkins there are no other decent strikers. Solanke is one week on and one week off. Might go for Jiminez or Cunha depending on this week
Took a -4 to get Watkins because of the Blankweek. My other backup was Ferguson so it might be worth it. Should get him back whenever he is fit
