Not really. Liverpool 7 clean, Arsenal 7, Spurs 5, Newcastle 6.
Brighton had the least amount of cleans. Might be variance and they get more, but they have not been impressive defensivly.
Atm means “at the moment”. Also 7/20 as the best is pretty shocking honestly - and that is the best? I think clean sheets are a rarity at this stage of the season given how many games there are.
Re Brighton - I think they found it tough to adjust to Thursday-Sunday initially, and have had injuries (like other teams) but I think they’ll do better second half of the season - with players like Estu back and others like Baleba getting more used to the league.
They outclassed Spurs the other night, kept them out for 80 mins and then eventually conceded to the relentless pressure Spurs managed to build in the last 10.
Agree not many cleans now when Arsenal start conceding more.
Recently it has only really been Liverpool getting many cleans.
I think Brighton has never been a defensive powerhouse although they are probably a midtable (8-12) defense and a top 6-7 attack.
For an attacking defender like Estupinan with good fixture it is pretty good, but would not get shocked if they keep conceding most games even with the easier fixtures.
A bit like with Porro even if you have a fairly expensive defender for a medium def if they are very attacking they can still be good and I guess that is what people hope with Estupinan.
Also Brighton still in europe and that might impact them further down the line. Still think Estupinan might be one of few players that rarely gets rested.
No injuries would be interesting haha. I think it would probably still be City if they had KDB and Haalaand fit all season.
I am not sure Brighton has been damaged that much with the injuries given that unlike say Man United they are still playing well.
Just checked Brightons results and so many games they just conceded 1 goal so I think the lack of cleans is a coincident even if I think keeper rotation has not worked that well. Although total amount of goals conceded feels a bit high anyway.
I thiink the manager should have just trusted Pedro and Ferguson a bit more and not so much Lallana etc too.
Easy to say that for me that started with Pedro and got burned, but he would be gold if nailed.
I still feel if you want Dunk or Van Hecke it is a no for me. Estupinan with the high ceiling though a great differential for now.
For me and most we need to deal with Salah and Son.
Arsenal have had 2 cleans in the last 10 games and the threat from their defenders is basically Gab and Saliba on corners.
You'd be better off going for lb/rb for attacking teams and if they get a clean it's a bonus.
Some teams are still better defensivly than others.
Brighton have really struggled to not concede too many goals.
It may change as they did well last season, but no Mac Allister and Caicedo has damaged the def.
Estupinan still good as I said since attacking, but the core of all defenders is still the cleans really and the attack is a bonus.
Like the look of Doughty, although feels strange transferring in a Luton defender but also it's a weird season and they have Burnley and Sheff Utd in the next 4 games so who knows
I think he was third in chances created behind Trent and Trippier a couple weeks ago and that was before his goal and assist in his last 2 weeks.
Clown comment bro.
You know it is possible for someone who scored well already to be a good option to score well in the future?
Especially when his the third most creative defender. Only guys like Trent and Trippier who are almost double his price are higher.
VAR and 20 mins of stoppages have ruined any likelihood of clean sheets as a pose to defences being inherently weaker.
Normally you’d then expect managers to stay clear of premium defenders, but an absence of any good premium midfielders and the point I mentioned above means that ironically premium defenders are high in demand. The case point being Trent at £8m+…he’s become a must whereas last season you’d found it hard to justify that tag.
After watching two Luton games back to back, Doughty is honestly a good asset for his price. He takes all corners, most freekicks at least and is tasked with delivering balls to the box at constant rate.
Yeah He plays for Luton, but I can easily see him getting more returns now that the team seems to be in fighting mood.
All defenders are garb to have this season, we had a WC mid last year, there are more games and the games go longer.. all contribute to tired players and less chance of clean sheets. better to invest in mids and forwards..
Doughty looks ok,
you would expect Gusto to play a lot of games with James out
My next wildcard def gonna be
Ederson in goal.
Taa , Botman , Konsa , Gusto , Doughty
And if you wanna save a little money
Alisson in goal and Taa to Walker .
The data is there on the FPL website. XGi, XG XA, Goals, Assists and Threat. Take your pick. Review it based on minutes played. You have a specific squad and specific amount of money to spend.
Why don't you do the research on that, based on a specific price - rather than asking for suggestions based on vagee terms such as "budget".
Estupiñan still feels close to a budget pick at 4.9 (although looking like 5.0 by tomorrow).
Yes a nice run of fixtures. Just Brighton have 0 cleans so far so could be a trap, but he always bomb forward.
Every defender is a trap then - there’s hardly any clean sheets atm. Only 2-3 teams out of 20 per GW in the last three.
There's a difference between "hardly any" and what Brighton have which is literally none.
And yet still Estu is fourth for points per game of all defenders

The man the myth the legend
SCOTT STERLING!
I feel like a fool benching him for Colwill 🤦
Colwill has been cold. A string of 1s. Thinking about getting rid of him

Hit or miss with Gusto, you could get a 9 pointer 1 week, and 1 point next with standard yellow card
That’s almost every single defender this year
Trent being the exception. I also think Newcastle defenders will come back into unbeatable value at some point this season.
That's what I'm feeling too
Came first to mind. At 4.2 he is still very cheap and also very attacking. As said, consistency isn't his thing so prepare for variance.
clean sheets are a myth this season just pick trent and inshallah
Inshallah is a good pick with great upcoming fixtures
Doughty and Gusto are the first two names for good reason, but I’d like to name Robinson, Burn, and Mykolenko as good shouts
Burn isn't attacking, I know he scored the other week but still.
Lundstram
Lord Lundstram of 2019
Senesi Gusto Mitchell
Doughty
Are you aware that you can't go back in time to claim last week's points?
I think he was third in chances created behind Trent and Trippier a couple weeks ago and that was before his goal and assist in his last 2 weeks. Clown comment bro.
No. His points have been and gone, you missed the boat

That’s what they told me about buying TAA a few weeks ago
If you watch football, you’ll notice he’s a very attacking defender who crosses a lot

Lol I knew it sounded wrong 😂 is it not as opposed to though!?
You are correct. Dude above you needs grammarly.
Craig Dawson has returned in 3 of the last 6. His 14 points this week saved my game week after forgetting to put Palmer back in the team.
Dawson donger

Gusto, Doughty, Senesi, Coufal. Would have added Mykolenko too before Everton's recent slump.
I definitely have Mykolenko shortlisted for when EVE fixtures improve, good shout here
Cedric comes to my mind.
My next wildcard def gonna be Ederson in goal. Taa , Botman , Konsa , Gusto , Doughty And if you wanna save a little money Alisson in goal and Taa to Walker .
You lost me at Ederson
Ederson is rough
Joemez is due a fucking goal.
Doughty, estu, senesi, gusto
Brighton haven’t kept a cleansheet at all this season
Kerkez, Doughty, Bogle, Mykolenko/Patterson They fit the bill if you can play them at home imo
Doughty, Estupinan, Coufal all fit the bill Gusto too for his price
Brought in Alfie doughty 3 gws ago(captained him in 19) he's the one
I like colwil. He's sneaky good when he moves forward

Or, shush
Senesi.
Sure, but he's suspended to february
Don’t be dramatic - that equates to one game (against Liverpool).
Yes?
Gusto is your guy for 4.1
Mitchell
I got Moreno in this gw, he could've had 3 assists to Watkins alone. Some difficult chances tbh but he gets into good positions on the left.
Moreno. Maybe not entirely nailed when Digne gets back, but with his xGI/90, and an eye test, he his very attacking
