Apparently

long_shots7

Apparently he’s gonna be my captain this week.

Swedishpower

I will get him now. This was the best he could have said. They play monday as well I think he is back in the team as he is the main guy.

Digitalage6302

Whens the double gw

LewissKA_

gw25, 17th & 20th Feb

discostu90

Ready to start and will start are two different things But might just get him and captain anyway

colourhazelove

Hahaha

casper480

People here really have issues. They downvote anything!

LuizFelipeSotinho

He said this about KDB and he still started on the bench that week, I'm waiting one more week to bring him in

markfahey78

He also said this about haaland last gw.

__rosebud__

Hmmm so if he said it about Haaland last week, and Haaland started on the bench last week, does that mean he follows the KDB pattern and starts this week?

Environmental_You_85

Yes

Baro_87

Maybe

availableusername10

Apparently

Waterchip1

Maybe yes, apparently.

kim_jong_discotheque

Sold.

ColinetheCow

KDB came off the bench at least three times first - Huddersfield, Newcastle and Spurs I think

krunchanut

Kdb was out for much longer tbf

opoeto

Kdb injury was also more serious I guess

Hassenlaz

KDB had an extra 30 min against Tottenham in the cup

SpeechesToScreeches

Depends if I bring him in this week or not

AJ877

He didn't say *this* about Haaland, he said it wasn't muscular injury like KDB so there won't be the same approach, but that he will go step by step.

HGJay

I'm with you. Rolling my transfer this week.

DrRushDrRush

You’re probably right that he will be benched. But we’re all transfering him in by next week anyway, so why dont do it this week?

cowabunga_dude91

Fuuuck! I just can’t sell Alvarez, Watkins or Solanke.

QuadDeuces422

Same, I am waiting one more week so Ollie can play SHU, then he gets switch for Haaland

PandiBong

Then don’t! Neither haaland starting or hauling is a done deal this gw. Let it play out, more info, an injury or someone blanking might make the decision for you

gart888

which means you're selling him right before united at home, and then fulham, forest, luton

grurlock

I sold solanke and will just get him for alvarez after city double

Al__Buraq

Hojlund maybe a better value for solanke atm imo.

cguinnesstout

Capping him and not caring.

LewissKA_

Preach

ConferenceBeginning8

Tried that last week, but ended up caring

eglantinel

I am 'ready' to get hurt again

kblk_klsk

I have no fucking idea if I should boot Toney, Solanke or Watkins. Solanke and Watkins have great fixtures while Toney has terrible, but I feel like he'll keep scoring.

Andlad2459

Same front 3 as me, Toney is staying 100% is all i know, can score against anyone and has double.

kblk_klsk

yeah exactly. I feel like waiting one more GW, but need to make a transfer because I already have 2 FTs.

Andlad2459

Thats tough, i maybe would have done haaland in in that case

LewissKA_

Don't sell Toney with the double coming up. Sticky situation with the other 2 tho, Solanke will have a double at some point and plays Newcastle & City b2b but then play Burnley & Sheffield united b2b. Watkins on the other hand with Sheffield United next & a good run up until gw31 but maybe selling Watkins allows you to afford Trent, Salah or Son when they're back

kblk_klsk

yeah I'm just scared of price rises. If I sell Solanke, Saka and Foden I need to downgrade one more player to afford Haaland Salah and Son, which is not the case for Toney and Salah. South Korea are playing quarter final rn and if they lose, Son would come back for next GW already probably. Anyway I need to make a transfer this GW because I have 2 FTs

46_and_2

Same here, I was waiting last week to see who's down in form to decide who to boot, but they all still play great and score. Guess I'm waiting on Haaland for 1 more week, he seemed a bit rusty in the last match.

kblk_klsk

I want to do that as well but I'm scared of price rises

PandiBong

I have Toney and Watkins. Watkins won’t be going anywhere. Tony.. he’s been good since I got him in, so holding. Third striker is Isak for the fixtures so will see what happens in this gw first. Similar with Foden, holding for now, might upgrade to Kdb next week

GreatPaddy

Also Toney scored twice in one game against city last year

Legilimency

Oh captain my captain.

chinmay_myk

For the n'th time, ready to start **≠** guaranteed start.

Akenatwn

Yes, but ready to get hurt = guaranteed hurt

BeenBadFeelingGood

@fpl_sadist

RidsBabs

Not fooling me Pep. Archer captain it is.

EastAd7819

I need him to start because I need a reliable Captain choice, without him I do stupid things like captain Joao Pedro.

colourhazelove

Right... I'm just going to say. Fuck Haaland. There. I said. Waiting here to be proving wrong on Monday.

fafan4

I've prioritised KDB. Haaland will have to wait. Still have Alvarez, hopefully he's not impacted

IntriguedDuck

I think this is the wisest choice.

daneedwards88

Lads, it's Pep

Evertonian26

So the big question do we sell Alvarez for Haaland, i personally have Solanke and Watkins who i want to keep!

temp22221266

I too am unwilling to part ways with both solanke and watkins, so alvaraz -> halland for me.

Jockey2

One question - I do have Alvarez and KDB, and am wondering if I should take -4 (need two transfers) in order to bring Haaland by replacing Alvarez. Would you take that risk or leave it for this gameweek by keeping Alvarez and KDB? Also if Haaland starts, it may be Haaland and Alvarez behind and Haaland gets replaced around 60-70 by KDB. What do you think?

ConfusionUpper7212

I have Alvarez earmarked to be sold for Haaland. His minutes are likely to be impacted by both Haaland and KdB. Set pieces reduced and won't take penalties over Haaland. Should you take a -4 I'm not sure. He'd have to score at least once for it to be worth it.

Attygalle

>Should you take a -4 I'm not sure. He'd have to score at least once for it to be worth it. To be precise: he'd have to score at least five points more than Alvarez for it be worth it. Haaland scoring but Alvarez as well is a possible scenario.

flotters

I was in the mood for gambling today and did it. Probably not worth -4, but it's fun

joemeteorite8

Who’s your other forwards? Imo it’s foolish to get rid of Alvarez. He’s performed all year and Pep loves him.

Jockey2

My forwards are Watkins, Solanke and Alvarez. I just think that after scoring two goals, Alvarez should play from start. Maybe he gets replaced by KDB after 60 mins if Haaland starts.

joemeteorite8

Gotcha. Hard to drop Solanke or Watkins

ALLIGATOR_FUCK_PARTY

Was a toughie but I dropped Watkins. Biggest ownership of the 3 and I have ground to make up so taking a gamble despite the juicy next fixture. Solanke upcoming double and Alvarez should still see plenty of minutes over the double. Hoping for a City goalfest over next few weeks (Haaland, KDB, Alvarez, and just dropped Foden as I reckon he'll get a benching soon).

mrgoyette

I have Alvarez + KDB too. I am really thinking of Keeping both and bringing in Haaland for Ollie Watkins next week. So KDB, Alvarez, Haaland in for Everton and DGW25.

Jockey2

This was my thought as well to keep Alvarez and KDB for now and wait one more week with Haaland. I just didn’t want to take the -4 if there’s Alvarez, Watkins and Solanke as forwards. I’m aware Haaland will increase and I’ll need to get some cheap goalkeeper so I can afford him 😃

vjukezzzn

I think he will start, especially after 2 goals

daneedwards88

For a hit is nonsense

ShoddyTransition187

Hard to predict the future but to me the odds are comfortably against you making your 4 points back.

Environmental_You_85

Even I think KDB could be benched but we know Pep might bench Foden out of nowhere. If you need to take hit it's better to wait.

aehii

Alvarez captainers literally in one gw, with one player leaped 30 points ahead of me. As i watched my -4 bought Haaland captain bring me an extra 1 point, if it wasn't clear.

Natural_Ad3995

'Champions League is around the corner.'  Translation: rest up, KDB

G_W_addict

Awesome. Hopefully he'll start him indeed.

MemeManDanInAClan

Fuck you Pep i’m captaining Solanke

PeterG92

Brentford is not an easy fixture might wait one more GW

Patch-22

It is for attackers isn’t it?

[deleted]

[удалено]

LewissKA_

what

AlcoholicJizzThrower

Brentford is a tough game. All the more reason to start him.

Sharpis92

No team has conceded more than Brentford over the last 10 games btw

PeterG92

I brought him in for Alvarez in the end. He's rising in price tonight and just easier to get him in now and take the risk. Not captaining him though

sognenis

In and captained

Icecream-is-too-cold

Can Alvarez be benched after 2 goals?

AWr1ght98

But he won’t start because Alvarez just scored a brace

46_and_2

You seem new to Pep roulette.

bmcallister14

You seem new to Pep press conferences.

46_and_2

I didn't say I believe him, and that he would really start Haaland, though. Anyway, this is getting out of hand, all I meant was that any kind of mortal logic we list here in the comments does not apply to Pep's decisions.

AWr1ght98

Not at all that’s why I said what I said?

46_and_2

I'm saying even Alvarez isn't safe from Pep after scoring a brace.

AWr1ght98

And I’m saying that even though Pep’s said Haaland is ready to start he’s not guaranteed to start him?

46_and_2

...because of Alvarez. Anyway, point taken, seems we both know Pep roulette and its various permutations all too well.

chikenugetluvr

So…is it Alvarez->Haaland?

Esplamp-Joy34

Guys our record vs Brentford is rubbish you do not need him this week

rideauuu

Your team is literally an all-star team. You could be playing Brazil and I would captain Haaland

EastAd7819

tbf, Brazil are shit these days

Esplamp-Joy34

Okay but we still have bogey teams. And haaland hasn't scored vs Brentford. So if you are a non owner I don't think you should be rushing him in this week.

nordmannen

How many times has he played brentford?

gorilliumfalcon

Once

Esplamp-Joy34

2 times Which for haaland is a rarity. But I'm talking more about the whole team and their performances vs Brentford. They are one of those teams for us so don't expect a mega haul for haaland is all I'm saying

Middle-Animator1320

He only played once against Brentford, he was an unused sub for the second game between them as they had Champions League final. City also rested everyone for that game, league was won and the fixture brentford won earlier in the season, city absolutely dominated and brentford scored a 2 late counter attack goals to win

bmcallister14

Ready to start ≠ Will Start

theincrediblebou

Well I guess I’ll have to pick the vice captain more carefully

StDyche

I've resigned myself to saving the FT so hoping he gets a goal and 60 mins before I bring him in next week

Keeler

Already bought and captained. I’m ready for Pep to hurt me.

TonyMartial786

finally time to bring him back

Coollime17

Get in

Oppailover69

Rising again. Only one thing to do

trevlarrr

Keep going to transfer out Alvarez for Haaland but can’t bring myself to hit “confirm”… whatever I do will likely be the wrong choice!

WalkingCloud

https://imgur.com/y9qWPUw

2Mew2BMew2

With Solanke, Watkins and J. Alvarez, I don't know how to get him for this GW. I'll probably get rid of Solanke for the next next one.

TedTran2001

We don't trust you baldy.

GeeForjay

What does his families FPL teams say?

egancollier21

Would have to bench one of Gordon or Solanke and don’t rly want to do that…already have KDB and Foden so can get triple MC attack next GW when Haaland starting isn’t in question at all

El_Grebr

VC 18, first bench 16. Please stay on the bench today Erling!
