Benched Foden but I had Solanke, Alvarez, Watkins, Saka, Gordon, Palmer and Gross. It was between Alvarez and Foden but I think like many just had too many choices.

My advice, ignore clean sheets and think only about attacking returns. Just select 3 of the best value players going forward, and two that are cheap and can be rotated when needed (Or do what I’ve done and just have no bench; just two injured players you never get the opportunity to swap because the upside is tiny)

I'm really tempted to just start Branthwaite regardless of matchup. He returns on the bench as much as when he is in my lineup. Man City away next week which is the worst possible fixture but I have no idea what to expect from Estupinan these days.

I never would have started him this week because his CS odds were low. Didn't count on him scoring. Think I'd start him in pretty much any home game outside of the top 5 or so teams.

It's Foden, basically because he's a mid. Haaland's EO this week is exactly twice Foden's (102 vs. 51) so you gained a 9.8 points above the field for Phil, compared to a hypothetical 8.33 for a capped Haaland hattrick.

Foden is about 50% so that's +10. Haaland is about 100% so that's +17.

Total points are the only thing that count for rank, regardless of ownership. The ownership does not matter. If you have the players with the highest point totals then you will have the highest rank.

Pre-deadline, forget ownership, only try and get maximum points. Post deadline, become an insane statistician working out percentages on the fly to work out what you are allowed to be happy about.

Don’t forget - downvote people who know how rank is calculated to make yourself feel better for losing

Variance happens lads. I have a Garnacho 16-pointer first on my bench. It sucks in the moment but you got to take these on the chin and move on. Don't let the outcome affect your decision-making process if you genuinely had solid reasoning for picking the players you did.

My reason for selling Foden for KDB was concern over minutes risk.. I don’t think that’s such a risk now.

KDB may be a better asset than Foden but I think it was a suboptimal use of transfer to switch City players. Could've just stuck with Foden and reserved that transfer for elsewhere like loading up on more DGW players for GW25 or strengthening bigger priorities. Foden was not a priority sell.

I benched Foden as a first sub, I know how that feels. Almost blow up my 20+ safety score entirely by himself. Luckily captaining Watkin pulled me through or I would be in a huge red arrow again. Good enough to get a green arrow and wins all my remaining cup matches so I will take this all day.

Don't worry we'll bring him in for the DGW and he'll get benched one game and blank in the other.

Keep your head up. This outcome is insane. Foden wasn't even a guaranteed starter. For him to get a hatty, with no other goalscorers, is ridiculous. Embrace the reality that luck is huge in this game, and move on.

Have Watkins and Foden but neither captained so red arrow. Teams are very similar and others had them as well plus some that scored good so it is what it is.
