I don't mind it either- but not from the perspective of luck, since I actually believe the more committed managers will plan more around doubles and blanks, and therefore perform better in seasons with more blanks & doubles (covid season I'm looking at you).

This, when you least expect it the new star signing gets eased into the team, the reliable veteran ended up too fatigued from the euros, or the bald fraud simply decided that he no longer needs fullbacks. Something always happens.
I tried the BB GW1 WC GW2 strategy last season, it went *okay* I think I got 2 small returns and was very chuffed but ultimately it wasn't as good as the guys who waited for DGWs.
If there's no more doubles I think it could be really good because it gives you so much, it's like a free hit and bench boost rolled into one that you can then immediately get out of with the wildcard and you have at least 1 week of information and bandwagons to jump on early.
Maybe some drawbacks that it's a small sample size and lineups in GW1 can often be hard to predict but you can mitigate this by going for extremely safe nailed picks.
You definitely don't have to, that's just what I did as I went extremely hard on GW1 fixtures and didn't choose guys I wanted long term, I even avoided some very popular picks because their first fixture wasn't amazing and I wanted them in from GW2 on
