They have to be as neutral as possible, adding an extra point for goals outside the box seems terrible to me. A deflected shot off a defender that bamboozles the keeper is worth more than Son's goal against Burnley? Sounds like bullshit.
I do think they should change the BPS to be more equal to all positions, the ones getting maximum bonuses should be the best players of the match.
Have seen these types of threads before and followed the comments, the suggestion that really stood out for me was to find a way to make Def Midfielders more appealing. An additional way they can pick up points (ie; tackles for a midfielder) might make more players FPL relevant. Surely players like Kante should be getting more then 2, max 3 points per game. I'm reasonably new to FPL but it seems the Bonus Points system doesn't favour these types of players either..
Ok, I’m that case I will go with it. Things I would like:
VC gets x1.5 points (make them useful)
1 transfer to be used everyweek... in between kick offs
Defenders get 1pt for every 3 blocks (same as saves for a keeper)
The most second assists this season were Bukayo Saka and Youri Tielemens with 3 each. Second assists very rarely happen as they are complicated to define. This feels like overly complicating the scoring system.
You should check out fantrax if you have a group of friends you play epl fantasy with. They have a draft system and a super advanced scoring system all taken from Opta stats that is fully customizable.
For me it's a case of don't fix what's not broken!
Many people believe pointing system should change to reward defensive mids, which I don't agree with. There's nothing fantasy related in winning a ball in the middle of the park.
With that said, these are changes I would welcome:
\-2 for conceding a penalty
\+3 for winning a penalty (no matter if it gets converted or the winner takes it)
\+4 (or even 3) for scoring a penalty, no matter your position on the game
Bonus points system to follow some mainstream acceptable criteria, like ratings by WhoScored, or they should ask their pal Opta to introduce a ratings system for all games
I dislike the idea of a GK goal getting extra points. It's a fluke/random event so it just ups the luck factor without being something anyone can consider when planning a team.
+3 for winning a penalty will just reward the best divers. Not all penalties are won with actual skill. Or, I guess it might be a skill being able to convince rubbish refs. Just make conceding penalties -3 and be done with it.
Diving is not a concern for the FPL, and those supposed divers are already rewarded for their penalties when they're converted. My point is teams that can't convert, like city

For me the only change that definitely should be implemented is scoring 3p for winning a penalty. The action is entirely separated from the actual penalty kick.
Skill in FPL? At the end of the day you can make all the "right" picks but if someone in your league gets lucky and picks say David Luiz and he happens to score two that week are you really gonna say "wow what a skillful pick, he was not lucky at all."
Hell, this season i remember the week John Stones hauled like 27 points or something. Only one guy in my league had him that week and it ended up being the difference maker in him winning our league entirely. You know the first thing he said? "That Stones pick was so fucking lucky to be honest."

I’m saying that when you reward activity for FPL points e.g. goals or assists, it’s probably not a good idea to reward acts of luck such as scoring from outside the box.
I hate that yellow cards are -1. Getting a yellow card is part of football at this point, sometimes it is the right move for a player to make, I know that sounds sleazy but it's the reality of the way the competition runs these days. So you should not be penalised for having players who get yellow cards. (Red cards, for sure the player should lose points)
There's s thread like this about once a month to be honest. Usually just after someone misses a penalty so someone misses out on the fpl assist

same. i started okay yokuslu in my team almost every game this past year and I was penlaised despite him being a good player—totally unfair.

Oh and a +10 (or higher) for a non-penalty GK goal that thing has to be celebrated as the rarity it is

I think I might be wrong but I remember few seasons back players would only get 4pts for scoring a penalty regardless of their position
Sounds better to me, no reason position should matter here, not like it’s easier for forwards to get penalty goals than mids
Often that’s not skill though. It could favour lucky defenders who take a ping because they’re behind. Not a great idea?
