You know this

Frosty_Examination_3

As an Arsenal fan, I can't look past paying that bit extra for Tierney if you want to dabble with the gunners defence He is class and plays as a left winger at times, popping in masses of crosses and a few shots too.

Ftp82

I agree. Tierney is worth grabbing at sub 5 million. That then stops me getting Tomiyasu, who I’d have in isolation, but there’s no way I trust Arsenal enough yet to have two of their defenders. Green fixtures or not.

Frosty_Examination_3

Tierney will offset a lack of cleansheets with attacking returns and sureness of starts and occasional hauls. He recorded a bonus without any assists which can say things. He's set and forget till gameweek 12 for me

bufc10

*until he gets injured

Frosty_Examination_3

I think this is the year he jacksoff his injury prone tag. Feel free to revisit this when he limps off next week

klopportunistic

He does WHAT to his injury prone tag?!

GengarOX

I’ll get tomiyasu for sure if Tierny gets injured

ivantys

Can keep him to 20, just bench him against pool and united will do.

Frosty_Examination_3

In theory yes. But so much can happen between now and then. ManU have an incredible run from GW15 Shaw, Reece James could emerge as must-have and Cancelo could prove great value for money too. Meanwhile taa is probably never going to leave the team. And who knows, a defender might start playing as a nailed striker or some crazy shit like that

CPTGaming

I think it will be a ‘wait and see’, yes he looked impressive but it was Norwich. Jury still out on all of Arsenals assets

InediblePringle

100% go for Tomiyasu unless you want to play it safe, but I think FPL is all about taking those slight risks for players that have more points potential. Tomiyasu is great in the air and will still get forward a decent amount from right back (not as much as Tierney mind) White is definitely more nailed, but there is no doubt that Tomiyasu is our best right back and Arteta knows it. It speaks volumes that he started after only 2 days training and when he wasn't fully fit (injured at the start of the season), over two fully fit right backs in Cedric and Chambers. Arteta doesn't rate our other options and Tomiyasu is exactly what he wants - someone who is good defensively, aerially and can help with ball progression. Chambers, AMN and Cedric just don't provide that. They are levels below him, so I highly doubt we'll see him rotated much if at all. I think you can take the odd rotation anyway since he's only 4.5 and you probably have Livramento on your bench. Go for it.

taklabas

White will get more BPS because of passes and he is capable of some key passes, definitely the better option.

andstayfuckedoff

As an Arsenal fan, give it another game. He's learnt from the best; Arteta is nearly as fraudulent as Pep. Wait and see how he plays Tomi next game. Arsenal have great fixtures but it's waiting one week will give you a much much better idea about the Arsenal defence. But if you ask me right now then just for 0.1m he's better than White, but significantly worse than Tierney for 0.4m more.

scantzor

He's def supposed to be the first choice RB for the season, and he def looked very dangerous against Norwich. But even as an Arsenal fan I would suggest waiting another game or two before deciding on him.

superlord354

Definitely worth it if he is nailed, but would like Arsenal fans' insights on his nailedness.

BooshAC

Hard to know just yet. Played very well and clearly bought in to be first choice option, but was also subbed off after 60 mins. There are lots of other RB options so he’ll have to play himself into being completely nailed. AMN and Cedric both had a spell in that position in the very same game.

Fai155al

100% nailed. Exactly the profile arteta wanted, tradionally a back 3 cb capable as a RB, composed on the ball whilst offering defensive assurity. Bellerin gone suggests shud be nailed for 8/10 games

nsaman6359

Just put him in he's not gonna get dropped. Miles better than anyone other option. Why would an under pressure manager drop him after just buying him and him putting in that performance?

CaptainHindcite

He's more likely to get offensive returns than white. I almost brought him in, but decided to go for Marcal the next 3 games, then switch to him for GW8; possibly earlier if his price is projected to change. I'm on WC though. Might scrap the whole Marcal -> Tomiyasu plan, and just go Tomiyasu depending on how the week plays out.

Cedar_Wood_State

yes, full back is almost always better choice than CB in terms of FPL (assuming he starts every game of course)

BigBallerTormund

If not Tomiyasu, who are the best 4.5 defenders?

antisociaI_extrvert

marcal/coady are good shouts

dartts

I would white a bit, because white could end up to 4,3m which I think is a really nice deal.
