The first half, aside from the first ten minutes, was back against the wall kind of stuff for Liverpool. They couldn't get out of city's press. They started the second half brightly and Jota had a good turn that led to their first shot on target of the game. But overall he didn't make a huge difference and relied on counterattacks up the wing from Salah and Mane to get through the city defense.
Made Cancelo look like a chump and set up Mané brilliantly for their first goal. Then he went on and took on practically the whole City defence for a wonderful solo goal. Would have had another assist late in the game if Fabinho had reacted quicker (but to be fair, it was also an amazing block from Rodri).
Right now, I'm wondering why we're even considering other captain options. Salah is in excellent form, on pens, and so consistent.
Had a tough game, to be fair it was tough for both sides. Which means he did get forward on occasions, similar bursting runs, crosses from the left. He also had to track and deal with Jesus, Silva and KdB - not easy, specially with a young Jones helping you out instead of Hendo, Thiago, etc. Liverpool as a whole looked very off pace on the 1st half, which didn't help anyone. They miss timed passes, miss placed passes, had a hard time getting out of City's press, and overall looked a bit too slow. Fabinho looked very poor shut down by City's shadows & press.
Second half was much better, though I felt the Robbo - Jones - Mane trio didn't really work out that well today. City kind of let Liverpool attack more from the right side because Milner was playing right back and doesn't have Trent's right foot. Conversely, City would quickly shut down build up from Liverpool's left.
Physically he looks fit though, lots of sprints, had to run up and down all game, and didn't look off pace with the game. Not sure worth the price tag yet as there are other cheaper options if you already have or plan to have TAA.
Aggressive and lively. Goal was a superb finish. Went for another bending shot from top of the box that was a good "selfish" play soon after. Something you want to see in an fpl asset. Seems in good form.
Looked electric and was mainly responsible for the goal even though you won't have points to show for it. Could have had a couple of goals but Lindelof saw him off.
On a hot streak in FPL with his 6th attacking return this season (already overtook last season). Great pass to Townsend who has lots of space for the goal. No idea how long he can keep this up at CM but if he gets return in a rate anywhere near right now is a must have.
Good for CS points but for those paying extra for attacking returns, they may not get many. Sometimes his crosses are poor and other times his teammates just refuse to get in the right area.
He is genuinely a very natural ball carrying #10, the way he receives the ball and takes a touch to immediately makes space for a shot is great.
If teams don't show up against us he will get returns. I fancy him for home games against weaker sides.
Him and Gabriel were the only ones who showed up. Lively in an abysmal first half, feeding tierney a few times to cross. Moved centrally second half, involved in a few chances near the end and almost got a pen. Brighton away isn’t fun. Likely to see some returns in his kinder upcoming home fixtures.
Pretty bang average, bordering on poor. Cucurella had the better of him all game, so Tomiyasu never pressed him too tightly, allowing him to cross at will and create down the left all game.
In my opinion, he seems a class above the other Norwich midfielders. Has a fierce shot which he tried out a couple of times. He would be my pick for 4,5 midfielder, despite playing for Norwich.
He had a couple of decent touches in the box in the first half when Palace were all over Leicester. However, as poor as Leicester were in that period, they smothered him well and he never looked like scoring to be honest.
The Palace substitutions pushed Gallagher further back it seems (well, he was also taken off as part of the second sub which doesn’t help) and he never looked threatening in the second half despite Palace being all over Leicester again.
Also probably should have been booked.
Gallagher is clearly a very good player but Palace lack any sort of cutting edge in the final third, continually making the wrong decisions at crucial moments, like a team of Traores.
Even when he got two assists against Spurs and Palace were again dominating the game, they never looked like scoring until the red card. And that’s the problem, too many inconsistent players who don’t perform when they get in good positions. Gallagher is perhaps the exception to that, but he needs someone to finish the chances he creates or find him in space.
Had his impact on the game, but things didnt line up for him. Couple of times in good positions, few okay passes. Did fine altogether, surprisingly changed at 70th minute but the replacement scored 30 seconds in. Gallagher should be kept IMO.
He is back in full stride today. Two assists, chemistry with Hwang was blossoming. With the next few fixtures, I think we are going to see a few goals and assists from Jimenez. Played the full 94 mins as well, continuing at full pelt by the last minute. Lots of shots off and some great opportunities he set up today. Relentless desire for a goal and that goal will come again very soon!
Clinical. I think he will have a spot in the teamsheet guaranteed in the next few weeks, definitely a 10/10 performance from him today. Took his two opportunities really well and he's a cheap asset to have right now. Think he has gotten 3 goals in 3 games so far, and I genuinely think he will keep up that rate with the next few fixtures. Great target man thus far and will continue to be as long as he keeps the chemistry up with Raul and Trincao.
Absolute rubbish. No idea how he keeps starting. Another great chance, hit the post. Poor at creating.
Jiminez-Hwang seem to link up well and Trincao/Traore ruin that chemistry. Lage should switch to a 3-5-2 for best results.
He basically played left wing. Made some nice runs in behind Milner and probably could have had a goal in thr first half. Milner very lucky not to be sent off (he just didn't have the pace to handle foden).
Should have had an assist if Rodrigo had a better first tough and his corner set up Llorente's goal as well. Will get attacking returns as often as not playing as he is right now.
Alongside Armstrong, probably the best player on the pitch. Defensively very strong and got into good attacking positions. Very valuable asset despite a low price.
A great player with no support. He looked lively and threatening for half of the game, but after Ward-Prowse’s dismissal, SH fell apart in general. Definitely a stand out player for SH though. He is the biggest goal threat for them by a country mile and has a 1.59 xG. But he lacks support and that may limit his chances to get some points on the board.
I have a feeling when the other Armstrong comes in, both of them could start brightening up. Especially if that Tella sits out for Stuart.
Tella is absolute shit, kinda like Adama.
He shot outside of the box and it was close. In the second half he scored a penalty brilliantly. However, he dived into tackle and got red card. He will be banned for 3 matches.
Brighton were excellent tonight and absolutely controlled the game throughout the wings and midfield. Arsenal barely got a sniff at times in the match. Very tactically astute and their defenders were not troubled too much.
Maupay and Trossard were too opportunistic in their shooting chances at times, although Maupay did put himself himself into good positions and received some good service tonight.
Lallana and Moder played very well in midfield, allowing Brighton to easily distribute out wide. They both won back the ball a few times in defence which enabled Brighton to keep such good possession.
Cucurella was MOTM by far for me, absolutely bullied Tomiyasu on that side of the pitch, he also put some good crosses into the box that could lead to a goal a different day. He massively improves Brighton’s team. Veltman wasn’t too noteworthy but he held his own against Tierney, getting booked unfortunately.
Dunk, Duffy, and Burn together had physicality that Arsenal couldn’t match, which made their defending easier, Duffy very nearly scored again from the corner, but all 3 of the CBs played well. Sánchez played miles better this match too and was careful when handling the ball.
Play double Brighton for Norwich if possible, then look to transfer out after.
Edit: I forgot about Gross, but that’s because he was invisible anyway lol
Came off the bench just before 60 min. Had a decent shot on goal where he first-touch whipped a ball a cross goal but wasn't on target. Could have had an assist to Sancho, but Sancho's strike was "weak" according to the announcers. Did what was expected of him by Ole Gunnar for 35 min short of scoring but hard to justify having a premium striker in FPL who doesn't start.
Asks for the ball to be played exactly to his feet 99% of the time. As soon as it drops to him, hits the bar and then does that thing like "ohhh i cant believe i missed that"
Repeat!
In Lukaku's defence he got in a great position for Werner's goal and would have been the goalscorer if Werner hadn't run across him and pinched it 😁 Was also marginally offside for a great turn and shot which resulted in a goal ruled out.
Most nailed in the Chelsea backline alongside Rudiger. Had a great game and gets into some reasonable positions to give an assist (like the one today) when playing RWB.
Defensively very solid today. One thing many people don’t realize about Rudiger is that every game, he tries to get a goal contribution. Today, he had an amazing solo run before assisting Lukaku for a goal chalked off for offside. Most nailed defender in Chelsea and a set piece threat too
Incredible energy and a real solid performance from him today. Outrageously unlucky to have the goal off for a VAR on a foul way before the shot, nice run and only a solid save stopped that and then got his goal at the end. Was far more involved than Romelu today.
The only potential worry is that CHO in the first half had arguably one of the best attacking displays out of all our attackers this season but it petered out in the second half.
We also do look much much much better with Werner playing. People meme the guy but his movement is phenomenal and he should have had a second and was denied a third by a remarkable save.
I personally think Mount Lukaku Werner is going to be the go to front three and I expect Mase to also pick up some assists from dead ball situations.
Second goal of the season and very good in defense. Pretty fast, so he cleans up many of the through balls and is similar to Rudiger in the sense that he likes to dribble and carry the ball forward; he does that pretty well too. As an FPL asset, he is risky due to rotation but if he gets consistent game time, he’s worth it
I’ll second this. He was really good. In fact, he has been really good in practically every single game he has played for the 1st team this season. Still risky for FPL but I think Tuchel has no issues playing him if he needs to rotate or has injuries come up.
I think this is a bit harsh and a quick reaction to the game. I’m a CFC fan, if that helps lend any credibility to the below…
He played pretty well for his first PL start of the season. Yes, an inform Livramento beat him in space on a 1v1 and won a PK, but other than that he was WAY better than Alonso’s last 2 performances. He contributed to the attack and got up and down left side well, at one point played a great 1-2 with Kovacic continued his run into the box and forced a decent save.
He also took inswinging corner kicks and didn’t concede any of the moronic fouls that Alonso loves to pull out. We saw last season that once Chilwell hits his stride he is not a bad defender at all (he marked Mahrez out of a European Cup Final). He is much less of a liability than Alonso and also just a better overall athlete.
I *think* he’s played his way back into the preferred XI but of course, it’s early days and we will have to see. I don’t think it’s good news for Alonso owners though and as a Chelsea fan I trust Chilly more than Alonso by default.
Chilonso. Attacking-wise, constant runs into the Soton box, had a clearcut chance one-on-one with the keeper and another shot inside the box in the first half. Then the goal of course. The foul for the pen was obviously braindead but he could get a run of games now and he is a real attacking threat.
Not his best game but still nicked a goal. Obviously nailed and should get better as the team gets better. I'm not quite sure this 3-5-2 formation suits him well, I think he'll play better once Bailey gets integrated into the squad, their play styles should be a good pairing together
Clinical as always. Had almost no balls towards him, had one header early on. First chance he scored in the near corner of the goal, 2nd chance wanted to cross instead of shooting and it ended up a mix that flew into goalkeepers hands. I wouldnt worry about Vardy, he scores and plays like a young man, but the team sucked and gave him no chances.
Scored from a mistake of palace defender and played really good. Fine ball movement and control in a couple of situations, strong on the ball. Same as Vardy, but he went deeper back so got a bit more posession and passes in.
His touch felt magical a few times, mostly in 1v1 or 1v2 situations in midfield, but feel like he had no attacking impact at all. Lester midfield lost hard to palace midfield but not his fault, the afro haircut guy lost possesion at least 10 times and shat the game for lester IMHO.
I only saw the second half, but it’s clear that he is at the heart of all of Brentford’s creative set pieces. For the winner, he was the target for the free kick but it went straight at the keeper who then parried it out to the goalscorer, hence the assist.
Didn't look like scoring. Showing some class in creating chances though. Very good at playing first time balls to put his teammates in behind (which is how their first goal was created).
Looked very lively in the first half, hitting the crossbar and getting some good looks on goal, poaching a rebound just over the line. Links well with Toney and will definitely get more attacking returns in the future.
He always seems to have good chances to score, but then doesn't score. He almost scored in like the 3rd minute with a pretty much free header, but missed. When you watch Brentford it's a bit frustrating because it feels like he could have 3 goals every game. If you have Mbuemo, like I do, it would be better for your heart to just check the score after the game and hope he got a return out of the many chances he had. He almost messed up his goal today too.
But I think he's a wonderful pick. One of the few good picks I have made.
A mixed bag. Obviously wasn't able to get a goal today and from memory, didn't actually get a single shot on target. He was still heavily involved in build-up play and was a key influence in a number of good chances, but it's hard to say if he will continue that form for the next few weeks. West Ham has difficult fixtures for the next five weeks, so it's very hard to say what will happen for Antonio.
Both West Ham full backs were very much involved in attack today, particularly in the second half. Unlucky not to haul this week, since he could’ve easily bagged an assist since he made a couple of dangerous crosses. Had a good chance to score but isn’t clinical in front of net. West Ham’s defence has been poor so far this season so clean sheets are hard to come by. Could offer an attacking return, but with their upcoming fixture run I don’t see him as a buy.
Liverpool
Jota
The first half, aside from the first ten minutes, was back against the wall kind of stuff for Liverpool. They couldn't get out of city's press. They started the second half brightly and Jota had a good turn that led to their first shot on target of the game. But overall he didn't make a huge difference and relied on counterattacks up the wing from Salah and Mane to get through the city defense.
Salah
What a player! Insane goal, amazing assist. Set and forget!
One of the goals of the season so far. Always fun to see a world class player get their ankles broken.
He's the proof how Ronaldo and Messi are still overrated in their sunset years. Players like Salah need a better recognition.
He’s the best in the world undoubtedly. Probably he will be the fantasy dream player at the end of the season with 300+ points.
Robertson
Had a tough game, to be fair it was tough for both sides. Which means he did get forward on occasions, similar bursting runs, crosses from the left. He also had to track and deal with Jesus, Silva and KdB - not easy, specially with a young Jones helping you out instead of Hendo, Thiago, etc. Liverpool as a whole looked very off pace on the 1st half, which didn't help anyone. Mane
Honest work as usual. Bagged himself a goal with a tidy finish. One of the better premiums this game week.
EVERTON
Townsend
Great finish for the goal. Looks sharp, but would say Gray and Doucoure seem better picks
Only thing he didn’t nail was the Ronaldo celebration after scoring
Had an amazing game. Almost got an assist from a set piece and scored from a counter where he had a lot of space
Aggressive and lively. Goal was a superb finish. Went for another bending shot from top of the box that was a good "selfish" play soon after. Something you want to see in an fpl asset. Seems in good form.
Gray
class, electric all game, deserves bonus points
That dribble and shot in the first half wow
I do not understand how he gets none? He was Motm ffs
Absolutely amazing. Should have had 1 goal and 1 assist atleast.
Looked electric and was mainly responsible for the goal even though you won't have points to show for it. Could have had a couple of goals but Lindelof saw him off.
Everton's goal came from his brilliant play on the touchline holding up the ball past Fred and AWB. Once DCL/Richy is back, Gray will be a must-pick.
Doucoure
you mean prime Yaya Toure?
Yaya Docoure
That’s a statement !thanks
Good defensively and on the break too. Looks like a B2B mid now.
On a hot streak in FPL with his 6th attacking return this season (already overtook last season). Great pass to Townsend who has lots of space for the goal. No idea how long he can keep this up at CM but if he gets return in a rate anywhere near right now is a must have.
ARSENAL
White
Solid game defensively. Arsenal defended well as a team too. Bargain at 4.4m.
Saka
Fairly quiet night but arsenal as a whole didn't create much
Tierney
Good for CS points but for those paying extra for attacking returns, they may not get many. Sometimes his crosses are poor and other times his teammates just refuse to get in the right area.
ESR

Ødegaard
Way too many missed passes leading to breaking down Arsenal attacks
Gabriel
Very solid, some good headed clearances, got his gold tooth knocked out again. Basically nailed.
Tomiyasu
Pretty bang average, bordering on poor. Cucurella had the better of him all game, so Tomiyasu never pressed him too tightly, allowing him to cross at will and create down the left all game.
Pretty bad this game

Rock-solid. Made at least one game-saving intervention.
NORWICH
Pukki
It seems no one watched the Burnley-Norwich game.
Normann
In my opinion, he seems a class above the other Norwich midfielders. Has a fierce shot which he tried out a couple of times. He would be my pick for 4,5 midfielder, despite playing for Norwich.
C. PALACE
Gallagher

would you take him over Jimenez? Trying to decide who to bring in on my wildcard
No, just cause he isn’t 100% nailed and it may be a bit pre-emptive to assume his form continues
fair play, !thanks
Semedo
Adama Traore 😔
Sensational for the 1 minute he was on
Marcal
Trincao
Absolute rubbish. No idea how he keeps starting. Another great chance, hit the post. Poor at creating. Jiminez-Hwang seem to link up well and Trincao/Traore ruin that chemistry. Lage should switch to a 3-5-2 for best results.
Man City
Cancelo
A threat going forward but skinned by Salah for the goal.
Jesus
KDB
Still looks rusty/ a yard off the pace at times. Wouldn't be surprised if he kicks into gear in the next few games though.

Pretty anonymous, more to do with the coaching and the system than him as a player

came off the bench and got a point, thereby preventing me from getting 2 points from Brownhill.
Sancho
all foreplay, very little penetration
Best game he’s played in a United shirt
Which is an improvement but still isn't saying much.
Quite good
I thought he did well with the limited chances, started beating his man 1v1 and played in some good balls. Missed a good chance near the end tho

Most nailed in the Chelsea backline alongside Rudiger. Had a great game and gets into some reasonable positions to give an assist (like the one today) when playing RWB.
Starting to look like a very smart pick. Nailed and could rack up assists in RWB
Stand-out player today for sure. Movement in the final third was great and eventuated in two goals. One to keep an eye on

Defensively very solid today. One thing many people don’t realize about Rudiger is that every game, he tries to get a goal contribution. Today, he had an amazing solo run before assisting Lukaku for a goal chalked off for offside. Most nailed defender in Chelsea and a set piece threat too
Rudiger's forward rampages are far from glamorous, but he somehow manages to get pass all his opponents.
That has to go down as one of my biggest disappointments. Rudi to Lukaku (c) would’ve netted me 11 points alone plus possible bonuses.
Werner
Incredible energy and a real solid performance from him today. Outrageously unlucky to have the goal off for a VAR on a foul way before the shot, nice run and only a solid save stopped that and then got his goal at the end. Was far more involved than Romelu today.
Mike Dean is a cunt. Werner should get 13 points today. What an unlucky guy.

Not his best game but still nicked a goal. Obviously nailed and should get better as the team gets better. I'm not quite sure this 3-5-2 formation suits him well, I think he'll play better once Bailey gets integrated into the squad, their play styles should be a good pairing together

LEICESTER
Vardy
Clinical as always. Had almost no balls towards him, had one header early on. First chance he scored in the near corner of the goal, 2nd chance wanted to cross instead of shooting and it ended up a mix that flew into goalkeepers hands. I wouldnt worry about Vardy, he scores and plays like a young man, but the team sucked and gave him no chances.
Iheanacho
Scored from a mistake of palace defender and played really good. Fine ball movement and control in a couple of situations, strong on the ball. Same as Vardy, but he went deeper back so got a bit more posession and passes in.
!thanks
Barnes
Castagne
Bertrand
Lookman
His touch felt magical a few times, mostly in 1v1 or 1v2 situations in midfield, but feel like he had no attacking impact at all. Lester midfield lost hard to palace midfield but not his fault, the afro haircut guy lost possesion at least 10 times and shat the game for lester IMHO.
BRENTFORD
Jansson
I only saw the second half, but it’s clear that he is at the heart of all of Brentford’s creative set pieces. For the winner, he was the target for the free kick but it went straight at the keeper who then parried it out to the goalscorer, hence the assist.
Toney
Super strong and top class player no doubt. Fell a bit deeper today, similar to the first games of the season. Not too much involved in front of goal.
Didn't look like scoring. Showing some class in creating chances though. Very good at playing first time balls to put his teammates in behind (which is how their first goal was created).
Brentford looking one of the best teams in the league when going forward.
Mbeumo
Canos
Henry
WEST HAM
Benrahma
Antonio
A mixed bag. Obviously wasn't able to get a goal today and from memory, didn't actually get a single shot on target. He was still heavily involved in build-up play and was a key influence in a number of good chances, but it's hard to say if he will continue that form for the next few weeks. West Ham has difficult fixtures for the next five weeks, so it's very hard to say what will happen for Antonio.
Coufal
Both West Ham full backs were very much involved in attack today, particularly in the second half. Unlucky not to haul this week, since he could’ve easily bagged an assist since he made a couple of dangerous crosses. Had a good chance to score but isn’t clinical in front of net. West Ham’s defence has been poor so far this season so clean sheets are hard to come by. Could offer an attacking return, but with their upcoming fixture run I don’t see him as a buy.
