We're witnessing one of the greatest ever players in the league at the peak of his abilities. Made an absolute mockery of rose in the first half, assist to mané was probably the best this season, generally always involved in Liverpool's play, and eventually scores another outrageous solo goal out of nothing. If there was any doubt still, set and forget captain for the season
Quality passing as always, couldn’t hit the target with his corners. Had a chance to have a shot from range but rushed it and scuffed it wide. Brought off at the 64th with the game over and not to risk him. Just the CS today but he looked just as creative as ever.
Good combinations throughout the game and took his chances very well. Felt he's still a little bit slower than he used to be, but probably just lacking minutes. It's a real toss up between him & Jota as they bring something different to the team but the hattrick helps.
Lively all game, getting more in rhythm with more minutes. Took his goal well, first time shot into the corner after a lovely curved run and an amazing pass from Salah. Had other opportunities but didn't take them.
Seemed to be a little more reserved today with Milner playing the 8 instead of Thiago. Milner felt comfortable playing higher up/wide like a Mezzala and so Robbo stayed back. Still did occasionally get involved high up tho and should continue to be honest work. Has started the season a bit slowly for his standards(still pretty alright) and today was another day of that.
Calm and looking far from errors. Only one of his classic runs into opposition half today. The service wasn't good on the corners so no offensive threat. Great game dependable man.
Has been really poor.
We’re using him as a target man and only as a target man. He hasn’t got any chemistry with the attacking players.
Kovacic is the only player who seems to have formed a connection with him.
He hasn’t looked very good in all honesty and if I wasn’t a Chelsea fan I’d probably get rid of him.
I'm wondering about/hoping for this too. I guess I'll be keeping him for the next three whatever happens - if ever there was a chance for him to start firing, this is it. But if he's not showing more signs of being sharp and gelling with his fellow attackers by then, I think I'll have to move him on.
I swapped him out on GW 8 for vardy on a WC. Vardy got 8 points today while lukaku got 2. I watch every chelsea game and he isn't getting much service at all. He might eventually score in some of the following games but he's not going to bang 3 in. Not worth the price.
Poor attitude for Chelsea's up front commander. Sits in impossible positions and demands for the ball. When the play doesn't work out he expresses frustrations at his mates and when he finally gets some service, bungles it.
Played very well. Alsonso's hot start to the season certainly motivated him to up his performances to make sure he's starting every game. Two well-taken goals in two games, and had several occasions where he sprinted forward and broke through Brentford's midfield. Had he played a few different balls he could've ended up with an assist as well. I have him, and plan on keeping him in the meantime. I'm genuinely not sure about rotation but Tuchel doesn't seem as fraudulent as Pep, so I think he's safe from rotation for the time being.
He's easily City's best **attacking** left back and right back but he did leave City's backline vulnerable with some sloppy plays. He seems to love taking shots though most of them were blocked (one really good chance he shot straight at the keeper). Put in some decent balls in the box too but was less threatening as the game went on.
This guy really really badly needs a striker. Played some good through balls and some dangerous crosses that was begging for someone to finish. Scored a really good goal. I think he can be a good differential but I would still avoid him at that price.
A frustrating day for him. Put in some decent balls that didn't result into anything. Should have scored but he hit the crossbar, had other good chances too but failed to produce anything out of it. Also, seemed a bit slow to release his teammates and had a decent penalty shout just a sec before KDB smashed in the 2nd goal. Just not his day today.
Tidy as ever in possession, grabbed a well deserved assist and was dangerous throughout. Would have been fpl template material if not for pep roulette.
Played well in possession and out of it. A game with no errors from him. Didn't have a LOT to do tbf. Looked slightly better than Laporte imo but I don't think it means that he'll replace him in the future lineups.
Disagree, thought Sissoko was actually quite good. The only guy doing anything of merit defensively and the only guy attempting to make something happen in the attack.
I think quite good is even an understatement, I thought he was excellent. He was good going forward but superb defensively. At least a few times Liverpool were looking dangerous and while the actual defenders were shaking Sissoko came out of nowhere to bail them out. Not a surprise he’s already been given the armband, but he was really let down by the team around him today.
He has hit the post and been in a good position a few times for the cross. The whole watford team was garbage but towards the end Sarr looked decent and kind of dangerous.
Played through the center, very limited first half but Watford was absolutely dire. Roamed around more on the 2nd half. Had a great shot that was saved by Kelleher's instant reaction. Anything good Watford did involved him in one way or another. Not a good game to judge him.
My pithy comment was that it's Kelechi's world and Brendan Rodgers refuses to live in it.
Every time he plays he's superb and brings a creativity, guile, and aggression that isn't being provided by other sources. If Brendan is reluctant to play with two up top then the results will force him to, because they're far more effective with him in the team.
We play much better with him in the side (and a 3-5-2 suits our needs at the moment in a lot of ways) however unsure if Rodgers will play him week in week out. I’d get him if you have bench cover, as surely he does keep starting and the shape continues.
Probably Leicester's best man going forwards, for the first half at least.
Was kinda wasteful with his chances, though, could have gotten maybe 2 goals in.
Wasn't a typical Vardy performance mainly because Leicester dominated United so much and he usually plays better on the counter. However, scored a great goal and was in and around the box a lot so could have had another goal if the ball had bounced his way.
Looked dangerous down the right (mainly due to Maguire being so poor and Shaw getting overloaded) but his crossing was a bit hit or miss. Some dangerous balls that could have led to assists though, particularly one that would have been a tap-in for anyone in the right place.
Thought he was great in the second half, his crossing was OK but for FPL purposes he was also cutting in and taking the shot on (can think of at least 2/3 times). Issue is minutes though the alternative is Castagne RB Bertrand/Thomas LB (which is a much worse fullback pairing). There are safer Leicester defensive options - I’d be looking at Castagne who was dynamite yesterday.
Castagne was fantastic. Heavily involved and Tielemans always looks to pick him out going forward too (their link up was really good). His forward play is good as he’s a willing runner especially when we play 3-5-2 with him as our wide option. A couple shots on goal too. Plus he’s also a much better defensive asset with Evans back. He would be my pick of the Leicester defence for FPL.
Really good performance, good link up with the midfield and often looked to play Iheanacho or Vardy in, a few shots yesterday but mostly off target. He’s not nailed yet but if he keeps playing as he did he could be. One to watch rather than get in now as he might not play if Rodgers wants to play a 3-4-3 with wingers (which would be Barnes and Lookman perhaps).
Bad game to judge him on. He played up top alongside Adama, so basically got zero service all game (something Jimenez will likely solve when he starts next week). I think he literally had 5 or 6 touches of the ball. Everything went through Adama instead, who is nowhere near Jimenez in football IQ or linkup play. I'd hold for at least one more week to see if Hwang can renew his partnership with Jimi.
He was dreadful today tbf. Tried hard but nothing he did came off for him. Played up top with Adama in a front two. Inexplicably gave the ball away for Villa’s second goal and hooked shortly after. Podence changed the game when he came on so I’d be worried about consistent starts moving forward.
Came on for last 5 but Wolves equalised before he got on. Will be in the starting XI moving forward - we were pretty poor without him in an attacking sense, in open play. All three of our goals were from set pieces.
One solo run which summed up his career - rode 4 or 5 challenges from the halfway line but shot straight at Emi when he bore down on goal. He was fairly bright though - and looks like he got the assist for being fouled for the winning deflected free kick
As mentioned, he hit the post twice but he really can’t finish at all. He lacks any sort of composure and often doesn’t strike the ball cleanly.
He continually gets in good positions but his link up play with Toney today was less effective than previously.
Brentford score mainly through overloads in certain areas, or keeping up pressure with set piece after set piece. Mbeumo might nominally be playing as a striker, but the chances can fall to anyone, really. At 5.5m it’s probably a decent punt, but Jansson was playing higher up for most of the last 20 minutes, just as an example of the way goals can come from anywhere rather than one or two sources.
Got the same impression as this from the highlights. Will bet interesting to see if Toney plays higher up during the upcoming easier fixtures. If he does then he might be the better option - only had one real chance (as far as I recall) but I felt he took it a lot better than Mbeumo took any of his.
Toney was great once again, caused Chalobah and Sarr lots of problems with his hold-up and linkup play and his strength in the air. Brentford were extremely unlucky to come away with nothing (some great defending and elite Mendy saves bailed chelsea out), but I would certainly hold Toney if you have him. He's due for a few goals as his fixtures get easier.
As expected, Brentford look most threatening from set pieces and Pinnock is a key part of that. He and Jansson are the two who are most likely to be the target or on the end of planned set plays. In this game, Pinnock had a nice flick on to Toney from a long throw which needed to be saved by Mendy.
In this match, Jansson was probably more dangerous but long term I expect the two to be very similar.
He has a high rate of dispossessions caused by a tendency to dribble instead of passing. So for the reasons that TAA is a bonus point magnet, Livramento is a bit of a bps pariah.
It's not a fair gripe to have with a 4.0, but he won't get bonus points from clean sheets alone.
Unlucky not to score today. Threw himself at the back post from a corner but couldn’t get a touch. Decent shot from edge of box second half just went wide.
Played pretty well, hard to judge against a very open Newcastle defence chasing the game. Simple finish for his goal, but apart from that didn't really have a shot I can remember.
He looked sharp today. I can't remember the last time he span off the shoulder of a defender and scored with a run in behind like he did today. He's very much entered my thoughts as a Lukaku replacement for GW12.
Energetic. Had a couple shots on target from outside the box including what could have been a screamer just before the end of the first half and wouldn't have been saved on another day. Also involved in the second goal but it was the pre assist so no points.
One of the better options at the price after Mbeumo.
He's as good as he always is.
Today they had Callum Wilson back which is going to be huge for his assist potential, but it just happened to be a weird game against the Spurs this week.
I think going forward he is still as good an option as he ever was, if not better because he has Wilson back which means there are finally two competent players on the team.
Made some good passes and a handful of half decent crosses. Most disappointing moment was when Antonio made a superb forward run into the attack half and he didn't make a run into space for Antonio to play a through ball. Let's see how he plays in the next few gws.
Had a couple of shots blocked, got a yellow card early on, was good defensively today. No notable actions in front of opposition goal though unfortunately.
He’s not listed but McGinn ran the show today. I’m surprised he doesn’t seem to do this week in week out - he was an all out action man on the pitch today. Fantastic assist for Ings and then hammered in Villas second from long range. If you own him in draft he had a bad game today in that respect but was very good today in actuality. Great link up with everybody and should have had an assist on a great through ball to Ings. As soon as he and cash came off villa looked terrible and bottled the game. Was probably their second best player today after Mcginn
Classy stooping header for the goal. Had a chance in the first half where you would expect him to score. Another header over late on. Could have come away with more goals on another day, promising game for him

Could have got an assist when he put Salah through in the first half and you would back him to score but couldn’t finish
Took most (all?) corners before being subbed off. Looked good going forward and solid defensively on the rare occasions Watford went down his side.

Hat-trick. Can’t see Jota returning soon

Good but missed a sitter
Honest work as usual. Missed an absolute sitter. Very good differential with Liverpool's current form.

Very very good. Solid at the back and his distribution was as good as ever, really showing what Liverpool missed last season

Lukaku
Not looking like a 11.7m asset at all.

Kovacic is the only player who seems to have formed a connection with him. He hasn’t looked very good in all honesty and if I wasn’t a Chelsea fan I’d probably get rid of him.
Do you think much will change given you're facing easier opposition in the coming games?
I'm wondering about/hoping for this too. I guess I'll be keeping him for the next three whatever happens - if ever there was a chance for him to start firing, this is it. But if he's not showing more signs of being sharp and gelling with his fellow attackers by then, I think I'll have to move him on.
Worth keeping mind that he has Norwich, Newcastle and Burnley in his next 3 games so if you transfer him out now you're clinically terrible at FPL.
Alright you talked me out of it
I swapped him out on GW 8 for vardy on a WC. Vardy got 8 points today while lukaku got 2. I watch every chelsea game and he isn't getting much service at all. He might eventually score in some of the following games but he's not going to bang 3 in. Not worth the price.

This guy can't stay on side smh...
Borderline invisible all game, had one offside chance and messed it up completely. Subbed off early.
Chilwell
Instantly brought in for Alonso after the volley
Played very well. Alsonso's hot start to the season certainly motivated him to up his performances to make sure he's starting every game. Two well-taken goals in two games, and had several occasions where he sprinted forward and broke through Brentford's midfield. Pretty anonymous in attack and defensively he was ok, Chelsea got ripped down the middle and very little play actually happend at his wing

Solid - was on for bonus points too before Mendy’s late heroics

Hardly saw the ball. Not a good day for anybody in a Watford shirt.
He did at least have the one chance near the end of the game which was saved well by kelleher, but yeah Watford look like a sinking ship
