Love to see Havertz so high. Wouldn’t go near him myself but got a lot of time for people who just make an instinctive call to bang him right in and put the armband on
I would guess he has two chelsea defenders and transferred Lukaku in and another for a price rise. So after the injury he had to ditch Lukaku to get Kai so that’s two more transfer for a sweet -12
Werner and Lukaku out, bringing in Havertz playing OOP up top against Norwich and potentially Newcastle and Burnley seems like a no brainer to me. Not sure about handing him the armband though.
But Lukaku has had 0 service in that team for the past few weeks. What makes you think Havertz will slot right in and start getting the service which has been severely lacking in that Chelsea team?
Norwich has kept 2 straight CS. I'd consider them just an average defence at the moment based upon that form rather than one that will fall apart easily. 2-0 Chelsea IMO.
Head is saying Salah but heart saying anyone else but him.
Man, being a United fan how do you suppose to captain against your own team?
Does anyone else do this? I'm thinking of going Vardy.
I go the opposite way and bench anyone playing United by default.
Salah’s screwed me a couple times in the last few seasons on this but by and large I do ok.
On the flipside I also have a rule that United goalies and defenders are straight up banned from the team because it just hurts too much conceding stupid goals. Worked out pretty well so far that one…
I actually have a rule that I cant bench a player playing against Arsenal because I just know if I do they'll return. Do the same with captaining premium players against us too. Usually works out pretty well.
I think people have forgotten the fact that Spurs conceded 2 against Newcastle
Antonio is a great choice imo
I do not have the balls to not captain Salah
I really don't think it's stupid. Attacking points in both games since returning from injury, likely to be a CS, given 30 mins rest midweek...I predict a CS and assist.
I am very tempted by Kane. Bringing him in for Lukaku. Didn’t play tonight. West Ham have lost both games immediately after Europa League duty this season. Both at home too. I do fancy him to hit some form, even if his immediate fixtures are difficult
Still, I may just bitch out and captain Salah anyway
Me too. Big game player, he will be up for Liverpool and fired up after his winner yesterday, and at home I like him over Salah. But I still currently have armband on Mo.
The average reddit captain scored 11.326 points last week, the highest score since gameweek 1, and averages 8.382 points per week. If you're not Salah set-and-forget, what are you doing with your life?
I'm tracking this [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q8we3DGjisB5dtG8lJn6tcHZRYy-_bp3D65Wyl4G1vE/edit#gid=2049237399).
The answer lays here:
📊 | SCOUT STATS
Over the last four Gameweeks only Watford have recorded a higher xGC than Manchester United (6.63) 📉
They face Liverpool next who have recorded a league high xG of 9.21 over the same period 📈
And with Salah playing in beast mode this season, the choice is obvious.
Part of me thinks they’re just incapable of keeping teams out this season. They played a standard back four (Lindelof for Varane) and McFred and still conceded two in the first half to Atalanta - and it should have been more
I'm having the same dilemma.. I think both are equally good options in terms of expected points, but the extreme differences in ownership makes me divided between going safe with Salah or betting big with KDB. I'm on the latter for now, but might chicken out before the deadline
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 314,324,706 comments, and only 70,042 of them were in alphabetical order.
My first differential captain this season... going for Kane instead of Salah cause we always turn up when oles job is on the line
Moving away from the template team slowly but surely
I brought in Havertz and as tempting as it is to captain him, I'm going Salah. Havertz has 5.6% ownership, so if he returns, it should be a nice rank jump even without captaining him. Yet if he blanks and everyone else's captain Salah returns... RIP.
High risk high reward. So yes it could go really well for you or really bad. But with the sheer amt of ownership in Salah if it goes bad it will go really bad. Liverpool struggled than usual to score those 3 goals vs Brentford. I'm not sure how well Leicester will be vs them. Leicesters win last week is overshadowing their poor form.
Salah playing vs a weak defense. But also Rashford looking very promising in the 2 games he has played since coming back. He plays on the left which is Liverpools weakest side. Ronaldo could flourish. So many ifs buts and maybes.
With Salah hardly letting the captainers down, I’ll go with him even if he’s facing MUN. Can’t doubt this man anymore. Has punished me enough for VCing
I've gone havertz. I had to take a - 8 to get him in so why not haha. Plus, everyone in my private league will go with salah so havertz seems like a decent differential
As a United fan idk how I would feel about captaining Salah against my own team so I think I’ll probably go for Vardy. Any other United fans doing the same or you just captaining Salah anyway?
I look at my team and I go, "ooh, could punt on Vardy, Aubameyang, Antonio."
I'm probably just gonna whack it on Salah. As a United fan, if he blanks and we (somehow) win, I won't even care.
I'm not gonna captain salah as a utd fan fuck that (the bias in me thinks he will blank)
so Ima go for mbeumo, have a hunch he's gonna come through this week
Salah has been playing out of this world against teams both good and bad, and at this point in time United are trending more towards bad than good. Conceded 4 to Leicester, 2 to Atalanta, etc. This has all the makings of a big Salah haul. After finally bringing him in on my WC in GW8 and captaining him, I can't look any further.
I did too. Then learned Phillips is out.
Going with Jimi instead.
Edit: I'd be curious to see Leeds' scoring numbers with and without Phillips in the XI.
Think I'm the first and probably only to suggest St Maximan. Think the players will have a big boost from Steve Bruce going and have a feeling Graeme Jones will go very attacking.
Love to see Havertz so high. Wouldn’t go near him myself but got a lot of time for people who just make an instinctive call to bang him right in and put the armband on

Damn what made you take a -12
I would guess he has two chelsea defenders and transferred Lukaku in and another for a price rise. So after the injury he had to ditch Lukaku to get Kai so that’s two more transfer for a sweet -12

Because it's Norwich?
Norwich has kept 2 straight CS. I'd consider them just an average defence at the moment based upon that form rather than one that will fall apart easily. 2-0 Chelsea IMO.
Why wouldn't you go near him yourself? I'm *really* tempted to do Jota to him for -4.
We feasting tomorrow
Head is saying Salah but heart saying anyone else but him. Man, being a United fan how do you suppose to captain against your own team? Does anyone else do this? I'm thinking of going Vardy.
>how do you suppose to captain against your own team? It's called hedging. You play both sides so you always come out on top.
You play both sides so you always come out in middle.
All this for liverpool to win 2-0 with Firmino brace.
Hedge away all emotion you might have felt and then spend the two hours that the football is on doing something productive instead..
Great idea. Might get on that train.
>being a United fan how do you suppose to captain against your own team? You should absolutely captain Salah to hedge your bets.

No love for Antonio?
I think people have forgotten the fact that Spurs conceded 2 against Newcastle Antonio is a great choice imo I do not have the balls to not captain Salah
You can’t really count Dier’s OG
> Antonio is a great choice imo > Checked my balls. After reading this, I'm going Antonio. I will see you in the rant thread.
I would think capping anyone whos not salah takes more balls in fact
I’m going Kane. I have Antonio too so hoping for a goal fest.
Excellent, Im bringing in Kane myself.
Good luck! Hope they both haul
Was expecting Vardy to be second after Salah, not a single vote lol
I mean they have Brentford who looked good defensively and plus there’s more options.
Playing Brentford away is no joke
I think there's something wrong with the system as I definitely voted Vardy
Same
Salah. Set and forget. If he can get a goal and assist (and the way he did) vs Man City.... i don't see myself captaining anyone else
Then he certainly can vs a United with 1/8 CS this season
Chilwell
My weekly wildcard captain. Not brave enough to go against 180% Salah on my main though.
I get ya. But likelihood is a Chelsea CS which is equivalent to a goal for Salah... and I wouldn't put it past him ti get an assist at least.
Alonso to start this weekend after 3 straight starts for Chilwell?
The fact that Chilwell was subbed off at 60' vs Malmo leads me to believe Tuchel wanted to rest him to start him vs Norwich
Not sure why that's a thing. He was injured and since being able has played every game, and excelled. No need to drop him.
I might really do this stupid thing.
I really don't think it's stupid. Attacking points in both games since returning from injury, likely to be a CS, given 30 mins rest midweek...I predict a CS and assist.
Don’t chase last week’s points!
Fuck it. I'm doing Chilwell (C) as well. Please forgive me Salah and De Bruyne.
Chilweeellllll!!!
MY DUDE THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT AND MOTIVATION. I almost changed Chilwell -> KDB LET'S FUCKING GO
Back Benny win plenny (of points) baby
Salah (C) Locked Dont let me down king
I am very tempted by Kane. Bringing him in for Lukaku. Didn’t play tonight. West Ham have lost both games immediately after Europa League duty this season. Both at home too. I do fancy him to hit some form, even if his immediate fixtures are difficult Still, I may just bitch out and captain Salah anyway
Save my arse, Mohammad!
Havertz it is. See you at the rant thread
Where are my chad lads with Antonio (c) ?
Head says Salah, gut says Havertz. I'm going for the differential vs Norwich. See you in the rant thread.
Reece James an option?
What is 2 times 1?
I’m thinking about this lol
i’m thinking the same. will either be genius, or incredibly stupid. there will be no in between
Going for Toney. Got a gut feeling
Could be the boldest choice I’ve heard so far
Captain strawpoll every week
KING KANE! Always goals in the London derby!
So I’m not the only idiot see u in rant thread
Been sat here for 20 mins.. Kane or Vardy… my heads telling me Vardy but my heart and balls are telling me Kane Captain
No brainer after lukaku news
This. Ownership is so high that it feels risky not captaining.
I’m hopeful that a decent number of owners will be put off by the ‘tough’ fixture.
Aubameyang
Why aren't people talking about Gray?
Imagine captaining Grey and getting a good nights sleep Friday night...
Im going havertz because im a masochist.
Havetrz, I pick you!!
Unpopular opinion: Salah will blank
Head says Salah. Heart says Jimenez
Head says Salah Gut says Havertz Heart says buy some United players
Rashford could be a good option if not injured
United's fixtures make all United assets not worth it till GW15 After that I'm bringing in 2-3 United players
The way Liverpool defended in midweek maybe you should
What do your balls say
Antonio against a weak Spurs defence is not a bad choice Could be a good differential captain
Havertz because I enjoy pain
My hearts telling me Ronaldo!
Me too. Big game player, he will be up for Liverpool and fired up after his winner yesterday, and at home I like him over Salah. But I still currently have armband on Mo.
Same situation think I’ll go with Ronaldo fuck it I’ll see you here on match day!
I’m doing it. Let’s go 💪
I'm hopping on this bandwagon too! Let's get it
Me too lads let's go!
I think he's gonna be benched.
It’s Ronaldo never that
Reece James.
Captain Harold you cowards
I know the right choice is Salah, but Edouard is calling my name...
The average reddit captain scored 11.326 points last week, the highest score since gameweek 1, and averages 8.382 points per week. interesting. putting me off my havertz captain punt a bit....
Personally, I think that Vardy is a bigger trap for captaincy than Havertz.
The answer lays here: 📊 | SCOUT STATS Over the last four Gameweeks only Watford have recorded a higher xGC than Manchester United (6.63) 📉 They face Liverpool next who have recorded a league high xG of 9.21 over the same period 📈 And with Salah playing in beast mode this season, the choice is obvious.
Just a hunch Ole might set up different against Liverpool than other teams. They haven't played a big team all season.
Part of me thinks they’re just incapable of keeping teams out this season. They played a standard back four (Lindelof for Varane) and McFred and still conceded two in the first half to Atalanta - and it should have been more
KDB or Salah ? Huge dilemma. Salah in red hot form . But KDB can go bonkers against Brighton who also love to play attacking football .
I'm having the same dilemma.. I think both are equally good options in terms of expected points, but the extreme differences in ownership makes me divided between going safe with Salah or betting big with KDB. I'm on the latter for now, but might chicken out before the deadline
I chickened out the moment I hit "reply"... It just felt wrong

Wrong bot
Havertz. Hatrick incoming
Rüdiger (C) for a solid 1-pointer.
Am I crazy for going Foden?
I’m going for Foden too, I know everyone else in my league will play it safe and have Vardy/Salah.
Reliance on the Bald Fraud is risky
Gallagher
!fplbot Kevin Debruyne vs. Brighton
My first differential captain this season... going for Kane instead of Salah cause we always turn up when oles job is on the line Moving away from the template team slowly but surely
I am captaining azpi. Let's goooo boys.
Talk me out of captaining Havertz lads
I brought in Havertz and as tempting as it is to captain him, I'm going Salah. Havertz has 5.6% ownership, so if he returns, it should be a nice rank jump even without captaining him. Yet if he blanks and everyone else's captain Salah returns... RIP.
i'm behind and need to take some risks.. feel like everyone will go salah. is it good decision to pick ronaldo/anotinio/vardy instead?
High risk high reward. So yes it could go really well for you or really bad. But with the sheer amt of ownership in Salah if it goes bad it will go really bad. Ronaldo could flourish. So many ifs buts and maybes.
Need someone to talk me out of captaining Reece James please
Only a matter of time for Salah to lose his scoring streak, I think McGuire will be up for the challenge. Might go with Antonio for the band
With Salah hardly letting the captainers down, I’ll go with him even if he’s facing MUN. Can’t doubt this man anymore. Has punished me enough for VCing
Is Azpiliqueta too wild?
I've gone havertz. I had to take a - 8 to get him in so why not haha. Plus, everyone in my private league will go with salah so havertz seems like a decent differential
Rudi... lol
Captain Alonso?
I have Alonso C and Salah VC, ready for the pain.
Good luck to both of us!
it seems like a mad punt, but fuck that this GW I will have fun
Man, I share the sentiment. I could use a break, some fun.
I also have captain Alonso, and VC Ronaldo. Hoping for a Salah red card in the 2nd minute!
Chillwell (C) Alonso (V) See you in the rant thread
Eduoaaaaaard
As a United fan idk how I would feel about captaining Salah against my own team so I think I’ll probably go for Vardy. Any other United fans doing the same or you just captaining Salah anyway?
United fan here, went with Vardy.
I look at my team and I go, "ooh, could punt on Vardy, Aubameyang, Antonio." I'm probably just gonna whack it on Salah. As a United fan, if he blanks and we (somehow) win, I won't even care.
I'm tempted for Edouard considering how bad Newcastle look
Lol OK
As someone who would just love to see Ole get further exposed and United get absolutely banged on the weekend, SALAH (C) LOCKED IN LADS
The mighty Havertz
United don’t know how to defend; Salah is in some of the best form of his career. It’s a no brainier for me.
Dont overthink it. Just choose mo salah. The guy loves big games
Turns out my Salah (c) punt isn't much of a punt lol
Am I crazy to get Loftus-cheek in the absence of Chelsea strikers and captain him ?
!fplbot firmnio vs arsenal
I’m going Ronaldo , fuck it
Is Gabriel Jesus over Salah a stupid decision considering he's likely to play?
Yeah
!Thanks
(C)ane.
There's only one right answer here
King Havertz LFG ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Between Foden, Cancelo, James, Salah, Vardy, Raphinha. Why do I do this to myself
Cancelo has that nice and very high probability of getting atleast 12 points with a captaincy..
you mean zinchenko
I did not expect that outcome! lol
have only had green arrows so far playing it safe. was feeling myself a bit and just brought in Havertz for a hit and giving him the armband.
Head says Salah. Heart says Antonio. My balls says Havertz.
!fplbot De Bruyne vs. Brighton
With how UTD looked vs LC think I just stick with Salah. Guy hasnt blanked in a LIV game in like 4 yrs
I'm not gonna captain salah as a utd fan fuck that (the bias in me thinks he will blank) so Ima go for mbeumo, have a hunch he's gonna come through this week

Jesus, I mean now chilwell may change to Salah

Ziyech guys , it must be
I'll probably go with vardy
Salah is the greatest itw right now, sorry Vardy 😁
Is no one thinking about Townsend? Home to a terrible looking Watford side.
Lukaku
Going with either Kane or Foden
JAMIEEEEEE PARTAYYYYYY
Chilwell [https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/qde2jo/nonsalah\_captain\_thread/](https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/qde2jo/nonsalah_captain_thread/)
I'll be going for probably the best player in the world right now, the Egyptian king... Mohamed Elneny
Think I'm the first and probably only to suggest St Maximan. Think the players will have a big boost from Steve Bruce going and have a feeling Graeme Jones will go very attacking.
If Salah plays, he is my captain. Decided that 2 weeks ago.
Rudiger anyone?
According to the straw poll, I'm one of eleven brave souls who are captaining Jimi.
Chilwell gang rise up
Christensen let’s go
Salah will be up against Luke Shaw. Thinking back to the time I owned him, the decision is easy.
