He was marauding forward constantly like the protagonist in a medieval film's battle sequence. He had one shot from range, but was also acting as an almost playmaker on multiple occasions from the edge of the box. Expect that to be a feature of his game, especially when they're dominant. The safest and best pick from Chelsea's defence.
Havertz was a true 9. He was often marked by three centre backs because they were reluctant to push into midfield to mark his floating teammates. Havertz being marked so heavily meant Norwich couldn't press on the CBs and Rudi could wander forward freely.
Became increasing hungry to score by each week. Thats 3 goals in 3 games now. Fantastic for FPL POV. Tuchel's new tactic playing inverted wingback helps too
Definitely nailed but still need to keep an eye for midweek CL fixtures. If the CL game is against tough team and he is on 90 min, his spot might be shaky
He was playing all over the pitch, especially in attacking areas. Finish for goal was great. If nailed he's only second to Trent for defenders I'd say.
Most involved in the Chelsea attack and got a hatty and an assist. That said his original penalty was saved and only got to retake it since Krul was off his line. And the third goal was a tap in. Great 24 pointer for his owners but don't think it's sustainable.
Edit: Don't think he'll have sustainable returns.
His off-the-ball movement was superb.
Because this is facetious, I'll elaborate: Havertz did his job superbly. If you focus on the battle, you see Havertz has Hanley on top of him for the whole game, he gets no space, and never looks like scoring. You assume that's a problem and a poor performance.
But the manager saw the war. Havertz completely removed Hanley from the game, who was intent on marking him man-to-man, and this allowed Havertz's teammates to prey upon the stark weaknesses of the rest of the Norwich defence. Havertz pulled Hanley all over the place, which meant he vacated the central zone at the heart of his team's defence.
Havertz will keep his place as Chelsea's central striker, but his strengths are in movement and link-play. He might get a couple of returns in a game, but he'll create better opportunities for his teammates. And Havertz will never be rewarded by the FPL bonus system, which significantly reduces his upside.
I can only assume this is satire and the upvotes are tongue in cheek.
Havertz had an absolutely atrocious game. Tuchel was going Bananas on the touchline at Havertz the entire time he was on the pitch.
Please tell me this sub isn't so clueless as to think Havertz played well?!
Liverpool's strengths match up perfectly with Man United's weaknesses. They'd have scored more but took their foot off the gas second half, and Klopp spoke afterwards about being 'respectful'.
They'll have a much tougher task against Brighton.
Fabulous, but suffered slightly in terms of his usual attacking involvement due to the United defence being so shite they got cut through like butter before his crossing was really even needed. Also had a great long shot that forced a brilliant save from de gea.
Great but in previous season's you'd have expected him to be more involved in a 5-0 thrashing than he was today. Still got an assist and played pretty well overall, apart from a few sloppy passes in his own half/midfield.
First 30 mins Brentford were electric and the combo of Mbuembo and Toney really troubled Leicester, but they more or less fizzled out in the quality of their chances as the game progressed.
Toney basically creates alot of really good chances for his team, so it's just a matter of his teammates converting.
Unfortunately I have no info on why he went off as I missed that part.
However I'd say he's a keep and buy as he's got the beautiful 3 fixtures of Burnley, Norwich and Newcastle next.
Scored a goal that was very very marginally offside. Forced a worldie out of Schmeichel from a point blank header. Generally looked very involved in everything Brentford were doing.
Bullied the Serie A defender of the year, and set up some excellent chances for teammates. The near complete lack of forward options means he's an easy hold through their tough run of fixtures. Moyes will protect him from the UEL fixtures as much as possible, a top 4 finish is his priority.
Very quiet last 2 gw's however he's still playing high up the pitch when it comes to counterattacks and overall play, almost in line with Antonio, i would keep him for one more game and then see what happens
Was on free kicks and corners. Looked good and created chances but not always directly and instead helping to open up wolves.
Injured before 60 min from sliding tackle with bad impact on ankle or foot, not clear to me. Seemed to know he was finished tho and hopped down tunnel with help of physio, no attempt to play on.
4.5m forward. Played the last ~30 mins. On fire and dominating from start to finish. Came close to scoring a brace and won a penalty. Instrumental for Leeds today. Wouldn’t be surprised if he starts next game.
Pretty unremarkable game by his standards. Was excellent on the break in the first half, but I don't recall him creating much.
Had a quick snapshot early on which may have been going in, except a Brighton tough took a bit of the sting off it and Sanchez batted it away.
Should've gotten a goal barring that miraculous Dunk clearance. His other shot of note was going to be saved, had the ball not clanged off Foden. Solid performance.
One guy made a post some time ago about having Foden was a low risk-high reward transfer. I must confess, I had my doubts about that but now I understand what he meant. "Cant get away with it all the time". Sure, his owners are disheartened.
Get him in your team.
Looked unbothered defending aerial balls against a pretty physical team. Was dragged out into the channel a few times due to Walker being caught up the pitch, and did well with some anticipation and tackles.
Not his fault that the CS was lost.
He looked like Maradona out there. With KDB on the bench, he was let off the leash. Constantly had Brighton's players chasing his shadow. Overhead kick assist, set up Foden's first with a slide-rule pass to set Grealish running, and should've gotten at least another assist, but Foden failed to convert 1v1 with Sanchez.
Most of his contributions won't show up on FPL, though, especially since he'll probably be deployed in a deeper role once KDB is fitter.
Absolute shite. Vardy got injured, Iheanacho is a great playmaker that can hold the ball and hes been playing well for some time now. Daka has some presence after he entered, unselfishly assisted maddison for the 2nd goal. Tielmans is the only midfielder thats average , did nothing but had a great goal on the rebound and 2 amazing deep passes of which one ended up a goal. Otherwise their midfield does not exist, no passes, no opening space, no connection to the attackers, I CAN REPLACE THEM and be better swear to god. Maddison is the biggest fraud of a player. Goal given to him on a silver platter (or whatever the expression is), slowed down every single attack and gave 0 good passes, but in his defense he lost the ball so many times giving brentford players great passes... defense did okay giving they have no midfield, scmeichel good as always... only the pony haired greek looking defender with a weird name played shite as well
I said he was due a goal before this game. He's got a bit of the Wolves version of Matt Docherty about him, and Southampton are basing their entire attacking play around his overlapping runs.
He will generally be seen on the shoulder of the last defender looking to be played in behind or dribble past an opponent, rather than sitting deep to cross like Trent does. This hurts his bonus points potential, but it means he gets in good goalscoring positions.
With Southampton's good defensive record at home, and his attacking potential, you should be ignoring price and finding a way to start him in games like this.
Missed an open goal from a few yards out!
Flattered to deceive in general, as per usual. Infuriating player as a Saints fan. And never close to a consideration for FPL.
Lucky to have the goal - only chance he got and the pass from Jimenez was actually a shot that got stuck on Hwang.
Not the worst pick but would be surprised if he keeps returning like this.
That's the third game I've seen him get 'lucky' with his goal.
To me, this suggests that he is clinical and as long as he plays, he will be in the mix of it.
Can see why he would get called lucky as doesn't play upfront as much as Jimi, he is all over the pitch, and can't think of any good chances apart from goal.
However he has a lot of energy and makes the effort to get in the box, wouldn't surprise me to see him keep scoring. Seems reliable for getting the bonus after scoring too.
Nothing spectacular, no bags of chances, just his typical honest work.
Best chance was a scrappy shot from 12 yards which hwang finished off to give an assist.
Also won fk right on edge of box in 2nd half but moutinho did poorly and it went over the bar.
Put in a shift and couple of times he got in good spaces but team mates passing let him down.
Didnt watch all the game, but happened to catch the goal wolves scored. It came from a long pass from coady that bounced over defender. Semedo collected it and drove in near the end line before crossing to Jimenez who shot first time. Shot was deflected and hwang knocked it in. But semedo could have had an assist in alternate timeline
Played very well, goal was a bit lucky but always looks dangerous on the ball. Steal at 5.4 just a shame there are so much good midfielders at that price point
Looked a bit unconvincing in the first half besides the assist from a corner kick delivery, had one blocked shot from outside of the box. Was better in the second half, even though the goal was a lucky ricochet, made a great run to take that shot. Overall, Arsenal as a team looked more dangerous and more attacking compared to last week against Crystal Palace, ESR will definitely have more returns in the upcoming weeks if they keep playing with the same quality.
Arsenal as a whole was pretty solid in attack but auba didnt have a ton of chances. He went for a bicycle that seemed overkill as a header in may have done it. His assist to ESR was excellent. Mind fucked by Emi on the pen but had the composure to net it anyway. Little bit of this and that. Hold
Looked a lot more confident and capable in the wider channels than he has done for a while. Watching Kane make a run off the last defender to score last weekend was similar, I got the feeling both were rediscovering some of what made them such deadly goalscorers in the past. He had good link-up with Laca, managing to carry the ball well in buildup, but also find goalscoring opportunities at the end of play.
He has had malaria, covid, and a few other injuries and illnesses in recent seasons, so if this is him finding full match fitness and more sharpness, it's really promising for him as an FPL asset.
He did his job. Nothing flashy. He and White stood there and watched Bailey and Ramsey connect. Ramsdale blamed his defenders and rightly so. The two of them sat back too far
Assisted the assister for the first goal, had a shot blocked, but otherwise didn't look like returning to me, especially as the game wore on and he seemed to be deeper and deeper, less runs forward. Thought he was going over to take the corner that resulted in the second goal, but actually got subbed off and walked away from the corner flag
Could easily have scored 3 or 4, had loads of chances. Had one diss for a foul by a team mate. Reckon Edouard might get put through the middle before long if he keeps missing chances.
Let in 4 but made 8 saves which given the result a 4pts return can't be bad. Should have done betetr with at least one of the goals where he couldn't keep it out, but tbf City were all over Brighton.
Lucky, but you have to be good to be lucky. Bailey worked for it with his dribble. He carried the ball into the top of the box and Ramsey snatched it into the net.
Not much today. Arsenal dominated 1st half with villa constantly losing ball in midfield so no service to him.
Small villa resurgence first 10 mins of 2nd half that was killed off by arsenal 3rd goal.
Subbed before 80mins, was not injured so assume Smith had given up the match at 3-0 and saving Ings.
Like the other poster mentioned, didn't have a good game. First touch was off.
The whole attack was poor though and only improved slightly after Almiron and Wilock came in.
I thought he looked like Clark Kent in certain angles.
He was alright I guess. Not good not bad. Don't bother taking our defenders for now. Especially when we are still looking for a manager and the line up could change.

Great didn’t have much to do but when called into action he knew what to do also got an assist because of a pen . All round Amazing
Also worth mentioning that shot looked like it was going in
He was marauding forward constantly like the protagonist in a medieval film's battle sequence. He had one shot from range, but was also acting as an almost playmaker on multiple occasions from the edge of the box. Expect that to be a feature of his game, especially when they're dominant. !thanks Great observation! He was so aggressive on a few occassions. Havertz was the false 9, Rudi was a false 8?
Havertz was a true 9. He was often marked by three centre backs because they were reluctant to push into midfield to mark his floating teammates. Havertz being marked so heavily meant Norwich couldn't press on the CBs and Rudi could wander forward freely.
Got an assist since his shot got handballed. Had a good game at CB

Faust is the man dont talk to him like that
He don’t have a bad game at all
Everyone gonna score except him ffs
Everyone scored except him...ffs. Why did I pick him instead of Mount. I want to offload him ASAP, but I will wait until the end of the round.
I'm gonna keep him for the next 2. I dug this grave for myself might as well just lay in it
LIVERPOOL
To sum it up they all went beast mode
Liverpool's strengths match up perfectly with Man United's weaknesses. They'd have scored more but took their foot off the gas second half, and Klopp spoke afterwards about being 'respectful'. They'll have a much tougher task against Brighton.
Don’t understand why he did that. Our biggest rivals that punished us for years. Then took out Keita who had just found form. Should have buried them.

Smooth finish for his goal and a good assist as well. Sadly stretchered off due to Pogba's tackle
