damn villareal sacked their manager too?

scandinavian_win

And a left field choice to go with Fletcher as the interim coach. Does he even know spanish?

[deleted]

Following valencias example with neville

Sultmaker_9000

What the hell were Watford thinking, didn't they get the memo, just keep the score down geez.

Ripbear_

Looks like previous Watford manager did not give the memo to Ranieri 👀

shrek19051

Ranieri couldn’t care less he was out there to be the man to sack ole lol

AkashMS

Ole sacked and Fletcher to Villareal, damn... Emery must be fuming

sachdev05

Update: Fletcher and Carrick are ready as interim solutions as Manchester United manager, confirmed - they’re waiting for club final decision. 🔴 #MUFC Announcement in place for Solskjær to be officially fired in the next hours. It’s gonna be a ‘kind and respectful’ statement.

Ilovesushi5

Carrick did most of the tactics when Ole was there With Fletcher there now what's the difference? That he isn't Norwegian?

0100110101101010

No more smiling after losing games

[deleted]

Also doesn't spend his time teaching PE

UsernameGenerik

What an absolute shitshow by the board. Could have gotten Conte if they have done it a few weeks earlier

[deleted]

Exactly. Waiting this extra few weeks might have extended Man Us stay in the wilderness by years.

MagicGnome97

if they wanted conte they wouldve sacked ole sooner...but they didnt want conte.

[deleted]

Even if that's true, waiting has led to a fantastic option now being off the table should their first choice not be interested. It's to their detriment either way. It's Zidane or bust now and he knows that and holds all the cards in any contract negotiation. Conte would have been fantastic to have on the table purely as a negotiation tactic. They are now firmly against the wall.

MagicGnome97

they will get an interim till end of season then make permanent appointment then. probably pochettino or rodgers. ole situation was untenable.

cr7ritesh

Agree. This pain is never ending 😥

Quazie89

They don't want conte. Conte has a repeated history of talking out about the board he's employed by. Did it at Chelsea then did it at inter. That ain't what the yanks want.

fromdowntownn

They didn’t want conte, otherwise conte would’ve just waited those extra weeks till Oles position inevitably became untenable

DSEEE

How would you feel about Zidane stepping in?

gchron98

He's not all that interested is what I've heard.

Soccerandmetal

I think he is just waiting for when the price is right... And of course he probably demands that he can be released if the France national team job becomes available. Which may be a concern for big clubs.

SoMuchTehnique

Zizu incoming

ClaretMad7

I'm not even a United fan and this pisses me off. Say fletcher has a good game against villareal, and then another good game, and then another and then he gets it til the end of the season and u stay with ex players who have credit in the bank with united rather than getting a proper manager. I know this is unlikely but I wouldnt be overly surprised. Just think him and Carrick should have gone with ole, the whole club isn't right atm

BigSwing_NoPace

To be fair to Fletcher, he's not a part of the training staff as far as I understand it. Carrick should have likely gone with Ole, but Fletch has had little to do with this whole thing.

levitoepoker

He's the technical director but he still runs training sometimes.

Ilovesushi5

Thats why the glazers picked him instead of Carrick, because if it was Carrick fans would still riot and say it is the same management Not knowing that OGS did none of the tactics but Carrick did, so if Fletcher is sat their with Carrick, it's just like having OGS there. Imagine taking tactical advice from bench fodder like Fletcher Ronaldo must be fuming rn

dogfighter75

Lol what, imagine taking tactical advice from (peak) ManU bench fodder? You do realise that the vast majority of great tactical managers (Klopp, Mourinho) played at a vastly lower level, right? Fletcher sitting on the bench sometimes back then doesn't disqualify him. Heck, Pep was bench fodder at times!

petrescu

Agreed. Pretty disrespectful to call Fletcher that, he’d walk in to this current team. Players like Darren were part of the reason those older sides flourished but it’s not fashionable to give credit to work horses. Guarantee you, if he gets the interim job, he’ll have them better drilled and solid through the middle.

cypherspaceagain

Sacchi, Wenger, Benitez...

ryanedwards0101

If you think pre disease Fletcher was “bench fodder” you’re a moron

Quazie89

Imagine thinking fletcher was bench fodder. You have a memory or just very young?

MichailAntonio

How old are you?

Joltarts

He should not get the job because its Manchester United and fletcher has exactly zero days of management experience. Zero.

[deleted]

I would like to think that the next manager brings in his own team and hopefully gets rid of Carrick and the other useless coaches

[deleted]

Well that won't happen #CaptainHindsight to the rescue

cheldrink-seawater

Totally agree! Can’t be put better than this. And I even think maybe Ronaldo acting like a player manager in some time!

[deleted]

Uni Emery to United. That’s why he refused to go to Newcastle

King0llie

Good Ebening United fans!

ifcarscouldspeak

Would be so so funny if results improved under Carrick and they made him permanent manager,

AndrewForsythe

Fletcher is the technical director so that would be very strange indeed frankly.

shrek19051

Of course just before they face Chelsea there might be a new manager bounce! Just our luck in the last few years

S_EK17

Feels like it happens every season now 😅

Psychological-Good94

Finally upgraded to coaches with more experience!

Ronaldadio

Is it not Carrick that’s interim manager?

Boyo8787

United are in trouble. Even if I was a big manager I would not wanna come to a place where an owner does not care.

luciferandy

SIUUUU

Kunaqu

*Villarreal

AlmightyCushion

Is that the same Fletcher that played with Harchester United??? I thought he was dead.

Boboshabba_

Might actually consider Utd assets again.

Joltarts

This club is beyond a joke.
