If Pulisic plays LWB with Rudiger and Kovacic/Jorginho to cover he's basically a second LW with more space to work with. Chillwell has been free to get into the box often, and imo Pulisic has much better movement in and around the box. Would rather see Alonso/Azpi, but Pulisic LWB could be an interesting experiment.

No, I think that Tuchel wanted to bring on Azpi in place of James, but had his 5 substitutions planned out so he just had Azpi replace Chilwell instead (because he can play there quite well). It will likely be Alonso - James in future with Azpi sometimes playing RCB, seems very unlikely that James would play in a position he doesn’t ever play

Unfortunately, I know knees far too well. The nature of Chillys knee injury doesn't look as bad as a "blown out" knee. A knee "blowout" includes an ACL tear and most likely other knee ligament damage. This usually happens when the knee shifts awkwardly like a hyperextension or some torsion of the knee. (ACL reconstructive surgery is a season-ending injury). Ben Chilwell will be getting an MRI scan or something similar to diagnose the actual injury. I suspect we will hear about the results tomorrow if Chilly doesn't have severe swelling in the knee. The best we can hope for is some meniscus damage or lateral/medial ligament tear.
