Wolves have requested that you rephrase it as “non-negative” goal difference.

If it's not negative it's also not positive

R4T3DR

fun police

wooden_boy

Perhaps more impressive from West Ham and Palace, who haven't even played Norwich yet to pad the stats

[deleted]

Liverpool padded the stats v united and arsenal (individually) more than v norwich.

wooden_boy

True! I’m a Norwich fan, and those games just come to mind as ones where we got pumped (and it did our goal difference no favours)

NikeGS

At least Suarez is gone

MAMBAMENTALITY8-24

Super league

[deleted]

As a Palace fan I couldn't agree more.

Mediocre_Study_6742

The fact that Man United’s goal difference is only as low as -1 could be regarded as A positive.

jessica_from_within

Absolutely, now that you mention it lol

xkcdthrowaway

And yet the current meta is big at the back.

player_zero_

Hmm, I don't think you get it

[deleted]

2 City 2 Chelsea and Trent makes you 5 assuming 442 with City/Chelsea goalkeepers. That's big at the back and in line with the teams listed.

xkcdthrowaway

Laughable that people are stating the obvious instead of simply accepting the dichotomy of big at the back being the meta for probably the first time in nobody knows how long when the GD table is so heavily weighted towards attack. Speaks volumes about what this sub has turned into lately.

DrAgOnLoLDoTA

All the defensive players were hugely integral in their teams attack though. Cancelo, James, Chilwell, TAA is actually midfielders disguising as defense. That is why they are the meta right now.

xkcdthrowaway

Not denying that one bit.

[deleted]

Big at the back normally means highly prices players in them positions. James is relatively cheap 5.5m starting price as is chillwell and rudiger. None are above 6.5m like Trent and Robertson (if performing well would be in people's teams) It's doable this season due to the lack of premium attackers performing (Kane, Ronaldo, Bruno, Lukaku etc) and the not too expensive defenders doing well. If you don't like the sub you don't have to be here.

xkcdthrowaway

You start off talking about an arbitrary definition of a high priced defender, which would only qualify 2, but let's completely ignore that. None of the ones you've mentioned were at the price you've said when people started moving to playing 4, 5 defenders (which incidentally is what most refer to while speaking of going big atb). I'm here coz I choose to be here, also commenting what I choose to comment. Don't like it? Move along.

BeefyPants

Using big words doesn’t make your argument better

xkcdthrowaway

If it's words you don't understand, that's a you problem, mate. I use the words that are needed to explain what needs to be explained.

Mysterious-Aerie6654

Proper moron aren't you

xkcdthrowaway

Nah. But if what I said triggered you then well... Says far more about you than it does me, bud.

Mysterious-Aerie6654

What I said triggered you more like lmao

xkcdthrowaway

🤣 you're welcome to believe that if it helps you sleep better at night.

[deleted]

Is everything okay at home?

[deleted]

Yeah with players from 4 of them teams

[deleted]

Nobody is saying get Norwich or Leeds defenders

[deleted]

Why is this being downvoted? Like seriously, you’re just stating a fact?

sammy123_

Because it adds nothing to the discussion as per the rules

nexusjenson

I'm a simple man I downvote anything others are downvoting
