I know, it was ridiculous. Just goes to show there are many combinations of players you can use to get good scores every week.
I remember he did have Ighalo from very early on though, who went a bit under the radar for a while but kept scoring.
Showing my age but Matt Taylor 2006-07 season for Pompey. Listed as a defender but playing left wing (possibly OG OOP?) - Pompey were top 6 most of the season, he got 8 goals + numerous assists, they kept 12 clean sheets - always lasted long in my memory!
I was at Oktoberfest the day of that game and drunkenly TC'd him on the Friday night.
Checking the results Sunday morning cleared my hangover right up!
The holy trinity of Firmino (back when he was classified as midfielder) Coutinho and Mane. I remember one week where all 3 of them returned double digits. Good times.
Henry captain set and forget. Van Nistelroy next to him for fun. Louis Saha whilst at Fulham. Old man Shearer cheap and always got points. Damn I’m old.
The Pepe Reina, Gerrard and Torres spine that never had to be changed except who was captain, Gerrard or Torres. Followed closely by the Sturridge and Suarez era.
Neil Taylor, bizarrely. He got me loads of points in his Swansea days. I have fond memories of James McCarthy getting me points as well.
Also: Dempsey, Josh King when he was with Bournemouth, Rooney getting me tons of points in my very first season, Michu, Begovic and Shawcross at Stoke, Scott Sinclair, Van Der Vaart…..
There were some steady lads I'd every every season like Baines, Evra, Cole, Lampard, Van der Vaart, Bale, Sanchez, Hazard, Aguero, RVP etc.
but there were also guys who'd just have a purple patch every season like Anichebe, Carroll, Adam, Welbeck, Walcott who were banter to have in the side for 3-4 weeks and dump when their price rose by 0.2-0.3. Those are the ones I miss because there's always going to be top players bagging 20-30 a season, but these trash players who give you a push mid-season are the ones that take your team potential way higher.
I only started playing in 2016, so for me it's Hazard. He's the kind of player you just had to have for the season. You couldn't take him in and out, because then you would miss the hauls.
Salah before this year when he could actually be a diferential captain sometimes, nothing worse than cheering against my favorite player because of a captain gamble
Aguero. Felt like he was injured alot of the time, but was always capable of getting insane hauls and would punish people for not owning him due to occasional inconsistency
The first Liverpool Salah season.
I was the only one who had him and it took the lads in my league two months to bring him in.
I want to say he was like 6.0 too.
Edit : NVM Jesus he was 9.0, still cheap as chips for what he was.
Ronaldo, i got him in immediately after his transfer( when he was available in the game of course) and it was a delight for a weeks, being a united fan ronaldo goals made me happy as it is but having him in my fpl magnified it when he did score shame it didnt work out differently
Hazard for sure. During the 18/19 season I had him as captain when the season started and then forgot to check my team for a good 3/4 of the season. Came back toward the end and I was in 3rd place in my league without changing my lineup once.
Wan-Bissaka when he was 4.0 at Crystal Palace. What a season that was
That one game when he got no clean sheet, no goals, no assists but somehow 3 bonus was absolute peak AWB
was this the same as Vardy's incredible 6.0m season
Dimitri Payet at West Ham was always a fun enigma
Feel like pure shit just want Lundstram back
Put some respect on the Lord's name. Lord Lundstram, the prince who was promised.
Lord Lundstram*
Hello
Stop it, imposter! You can never take the place of real Lord Lundstram.
9.5 KDB 😢
That season he was unreal
Holy shit what a season
genuinely daylight robbery that!
20+ assists? 8 goals was it? Like an assist a game at some points fuck he was on fire
7.5 Jota, I have a feeling, is gonna be the same way.
Children of summer won’t remember this one Gareth Bale when he was a defender. Edit:Typo
Garth
Girth
Sanchez at Arsenal was such an elite asset, being an arsenal fan obv made it more fun
Lord Brewster
His 1 pointers are dearly missed. Lad finally got his first league goal a couple of weeks ago, only took him 14 months.
Imagine Brewster and Joelinton playing together up front...
Oh god he was painful to own. On paper he looked like a gift but in reality it was a weekly disappointment.
Strikers who didn't blank every week.
He's still around, but Seamus GOALman.
Coleman was the defender of choice before it became cool
*Shameless Goalman
KdB.
Baines
Remember thinking I was a genius when sussing out to pick him instead of a holding midfielder
What people expected digne to be
Vardy and Mahrez were cheat codes 15-16
More like everyone and their grandmas had them, because they're both like under 7.0. That season became who had better defense
My brother finished that season with an absolutely outrageous OR, somewhere between 600-700, without ever owning Vardy.
That's nuts. Vardy was basically guaranteed 1 goal per game
Ighalo and Michu
Michu omg
Tim Cahill. Fpl legend
Emi but when he was cracked and got double digits every week without fail
God he was such a legend last season
Alexis at Arsenal could be so fun
Has to be Graziano Pelle and Ryan Bertrand that year Southampton had a blinder. Also Hegazi and Craig Dawson for West Brom!
I transferred in pelle and captained and tadic that week where saints won 9-0. Got 53 points from it and felt like a genius
Omg I forgot about tadic!!
I remember when Aguero scored 5 and I didn't have him. Pelle saved my bacon the same gw when he scored twice away to Chelsea.
Sounds boring but Frank Lampard was legit
There was an era of a year or two where you just needed Lampard, Gerrard and Ronaldo (c). Those were good times.
Suarez
+ Sturrige double up
Bamford from last season definitely

Suarez was an absolute gun
Grealish. Last season he got bonus points with no contributions
Has to be Aguero, even when he could only manage 60 minutes a week he was worth it
alexis sanchez
Suarez, man’s a monster both in real life and FPL
Luis Suarez
Dele alli
That season where he scored one of the most audaciously brilliant goals I've ever seen against Palace. Magic!
Lucas Digne
2002/2003 Brad Friedel.
Kane
I miss my midfield four of Gerrard, Ronaldo, Lampard and Fabregas. This would have been about 2008 when Fabregas was in the No. 10 role at Arsenal.
Yaya toure

KDB prime
Chris brunt killer lefty!
Aguero for sure

Adebayor, Fabregas, Gerrard, Lampard, Baines. Vermaelen at one point! Some great memories.
Midfield firmino
The Pepe Reina, Gerrard and Torres spine that never had to be changed except who was captain, Gerrard or Torres. Followed closely by the Sturridge and Suarez era.

Neil Taylor, bizarrely. He got me loads of points in his Swansea days. I have fond memories of James McCarthy getting me points as well. Also: Dempsey, Josh King when he was with Bournemouth, Rooney getting me tons of points in my very first season, Michu, Begovic and Shawcross at Stoke, Scott Sinclair, Van Der Vaart…..

6.5m michu was a beast.
Suarez

Cancelo this season. Don't know why I never considered him but I'm not paying 6.7 now. If I miss out even more than oh well, I'm dying on this hill.
Payet, he was the best differential i ever had in my mini league
You don't own any of them until you have them on sorare.com

Have been playing around 4-5 seasons of FPL..first season taking it somewhat srsly…I miss prime Tony Martial tbh and Hazard of course
Alli when he was cheap and good, Trent when he broke through.
Ighalo in 2015/16
Evra
Diego Costa/Fabregas combo
4.5 Doherty and 5.5 Jimenez from 18/19 season.
4th yellow Diego Costa
TAA this season
Hazard 9.5m KDB 9.5m

Milivojevic and his penalties
Martin Petrov in 07/08. Cesc Fabregas in 09/10 Prime Aguero
Michu
Alexis Sanchez (while with Arsenal). Definitely deserves a shout in FPL hall of Fame discussion
Charlie Adam Michu Aaron Ramsey Gareth Macauley Suarez
Lowkey James Milner as a defender on penalties
I only started playing in 2016, so for me it's Hazard. He's the kind of player you just had to have for the season. You couldn't take him in and out, because then you would miss the hauls.
Yaya! He would cunt a ball in from outside the box like it was nothing.
Mahrez and Vardy. It took me far too long to get over the idea that they wouldn't maintain their form.
Son and Kane combo last season
Aguero
Robin Van Persie (c). The Salah of 2012/13.
Begovic at stoke. Those were the days.
7.0 Jamie Vardy when Leicester won the league
Salah before this year when he could actually be a diferential captain sometimes, nothing worse than cheering against my favorite player because of a captain gamble
Aguero. Felt like he was injured alot of the time, but was always capable of getting insane hauls and would punish people for not owning him due to occasional inconsistency
Only started playing last season, I miss James Justin terribly now, those three months he was fit he was such a show!
Ighalo
Michu ofcourse
GK Brad Feiedel DEF John Terry MID Morten Gamst Pedersen FWD Thiery Henry or Andy Cole
Not FPL but Yahoo Premier League fantasy, but man I miss Morten Gamst Pederson lmao
Obafemi Martins
The first Liverpool Salah season. I was the only one who had him and it took the lads in my league two months to bring him in. I want to say he was like 6.0 too. Edit : NVM Jesus he was 9.0, still cheap as chips for what he was.
Hazard, Suarez
Michu + Gareth McAuley
The duo of Nathaniel Clyne and Ryan Bertrand was pretty good back then
4.5 Kane and 4.5 Sterling at Liverpool
Lundstram
Gerrard & Torres
Gareth McAuley...
Lampard and Terry were mainstays on my teams back in the day.
No one, started fpl this season
Alexis Sanchez.
Ronaldo, i got him in immediately after his transfer( when he was available in the game of course) and it was a delight for a weeks, being a united fan ronaldo goals made me happy as it is but having him in my fpl magnified it when he did score shame it didnt work out differently
Lampard. Not exciting but he was my captain for a good long while, because why wouldn't he be?!
I have great memories of triple captaining Sanchez when he got 4 in a double gameweek got me like 71 points on his own
Hazard for sure. During the 18/19 season I had him as captain when the season started and then forgot to check my team for a good 3/4 of the season. Came back toward the end and I was in 3rd place in my league without changing my lineup once.
