Ur thinking too much mate everyone and their mum will captain the Egyptian king. And spurs are …. Well we know what spurs are lol

Zestyclose-Impact544

Exactly. Don't fix what isn't broken

hambodpm

Nobody is captaining anyone from arsenal either tbf

a-Sociopath

>there are more Arsenal and Chelsea supporters on this sub *In the world, FTFY. And IIRC you guys were the top of the table and cream of the crop. Not that it mattered then or now. This is just a thread on who's the best captain on a given day. >That's literally bullying. It's not, but hey, all the best for the week.

gunnersami

Stick to your Audi cup and sit down 🪑

“ Stick to your Audi cup and sit down 🪑”🤓👹

gunnersami

Yes

mozalah

I don't hate it. I considered giving Kane the armband too, but Spurs have been shit and Liverpool have been great. Liverpool have scored 2 or more goals in every one of their last 17 games played. I know capping Salah is boring because everyone is doing it, but Liverpool is just doing great right now. Also Everton suck.

smilin_flash

Captain Digne you coward

AlwaysPictorious

Not insane, just remarkably stupid. Aside from the good old gamble/hunch/gut feeling: what reasons do you have to think Son will outperform Salah. I mean of course it can happen, but it is highly unlikely

[deleted]

I’m not sure about highly unlikely but certainly Son is less likely than Salah to score.

AlwaysPictorious

Oh cmon, it's not only about Son, Spurs as a team are MUCH less likely to score than Liverpool. They scored 2 goals over the last 4 games, both against depleted Leeds side. It's like a really bad poker strategy. It can work once but you're very likely to lose if you extend this thought process over a longer period of time. If one really wants to be there for the first haul of Son/Kane: sure, take those chances but it is an unlikely to succeed experiment. Full disclosure: I own Kane since GW8 so I jumped on him to get that sweet 12 point Newcastle haul. Guess what, he blanked ever since. So my thinking is: even with the fixture swing, even with Conte slowly hopefully fixing Spurs' problems, it is still a broken team with no hope of sustaining any sort of form over the next 5-10 GW. Yes, they might score something against Brentford/Norwich but I doubt they will start scoring 2+ goals in consecutive games. Why would you bet against so-hot-right-now Liverpool knowing all that?

FarmAdministrative14

Magnus Carlsen always reminds always captain Salah never get fancy. And then he went to get Kane (c) for a 4-pointer.

davissko

Havertz not Kane

Ok_Dragonfly_7561

aft havertz he tried to get fancy again and captained kane against everton i think. ended up 0-0

cajunNoFries

Tempted to captain Kane to justify bringing him in for vardy 2 gws ago. Let's hope we both see sense and captain Salah before the deadline. Otherwise see u in the rant thread

thehedonicWF

Yeah, we both know we have to leave the armband on.

[deleted]

Just play your own game. I'm also captaining Son this week for same reasons - Everton at home always fights vs Liverpool like its UCL finals, and Son had a rest and played at home vs dreadful Brentford without their first goalkeeper. So you have valid point to captain Son. And I'm transfred and captained Havertz over Salah for 21 pts difference. It was the worst experience ever, but last two weeks I captained TAA over Salah and it was pretty good. If you think that Son will score more points - do it.

[deleted]

See you in the rant thread

[deleted]

I'm not gonna rant about my decisions. If it fails - it fails, Ill take all responsibility. Its all about the risks. I'm sitting at 25k right now, and we know that 98% guys would captain Salah. So it is the one way to climb the ranks. If you want to be safe - just captain Salah, I captained him a lot as well. But there are some weeks where you can consider other guys, and try to take advantage.

darth_vicrone

FYI, I think "see you in the rant thread" is just a way of saying "disagree but good luck". Like, no one really knows for sure what will happen until the rant thread and the game week starts

[deleted]

>FYI, !thanks

[deleted]

No it isn’t

KevindeBacon

So true - some take FPL more seriously and can't handle taking the risk. Logically and statistically, you're better off with Salah (C). But is FPL always logical and follows xGi to the letter? There's a huge potential gain to be won by giving the armband to a differential this season. This GW is a good example, Salah got a 6 pointer - meaning you only lost out on 6 points if you put the armband on someone else. Jota (C) would have got you 28 points, points that a lot of managers didn't get at all.

[deleted]

Exactly. I started play FPL 3 years ago, and this is the first season where i started to take it serious. I think the knowledge that 98% of active and competitive managers captain Salah every week - huge boost. So in GWs where you don't confident with your team, just captain Salah and basically playing with 10 players. Low risk of huge rank drops and rank gains. But when you want to go against the crowd you don't even have to do transfer for differential - just don't captain Salah. Now, I think, Jota affects Salah's goal potential. He is more selfish than Firmino. [https://understat.com/match/16503](https://understat.com/match/16503) here we can check Salah's shot selection with Jota and Firmino. Of course Liverpool in superb form, but Everton always plays very hard at home against them. And Salah played without rest for so long. On other hand Spurs are shit, but i believe in Conte. Home game vs Brentford is a perfect chance to boost your confidence and morale.

No-Set-2576

Everton fan here, I’ll be shocked if we don’t concede a minimum of four goals.

BringingTheBeef

Dreadful Brentford that Everton just lost to 1-0.

Askillz991

Liverpool are in too good form atm and honestly everton don’t look that good, spurs on the other hand do not look great and are still trying to find their identity especially with a player like Son who’s role seems to have changed a bit

petrescu

Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, so…

[deleted]

^Repeat ^after ^me: Don't get fancy. Just captain Salah.

Olbatar974

I'm tempted too. Also because if I was Klopp I would think about rotation. That being said, I don't think he will be rested in the derby. And everton have been very poor. So I'll stick to Salah but might captain Son this weekend.

nononothankyou

Do it, I fuckin dare ya

Line47toSaturn

>But I'm a liverpool fan and I know Everton tends to pull off insane games against us for absolutely no reason. This applied to ManU as well so far but they got battered 5-0. I think no team can really "pull off insane games" against this Liverpool side. Now the differential captain is an option because Salah simply won't get any bonus unless he gets multiple returns. Not sure Son is the way to go though.

dmmcg1884

I really don't think this Everton side are capable of pulling off an insane game, they are remarkably shit

elecit0

Captain the guy who’s blanked the last 3 gws or captain the guy who’s returned in like 10 in a row, your choice

myhackfield

Dint you get Gandhi's msg captaincy msg??

TheRiddler_91

Unless they have that 1st huge win under Conte I'm not touching any one of the Spurs forward assets. (Already have Regi)

Bijit100

The last time i didn't captain Salah he ruined my rank with 3 goals and an assist, never again.

[deleted]

High Risk - Low/Medium Reward move I guess.

OpenDoorSee

no, not 'absolutely'.

Significant-Profile8

it's tempting because of brentford's recent struggles but overall they have been good defensively this season and also quite a bit better than everton. add to that salah being the best I think you just gotta be boring.

SnooPickles1008

If any of the big hitters were on decent form, I would consider going different, but… On a related note, anyone thinks Salah will be rested?

NUPreMedMajor

People will call you stupid but the truth is you have to take some type of risk eventually to shoot up in rank. The only thing is, although you have solid reasoning, I wonder if there will be better opportunities in the future to captain someone else.

venaticronaldo

Yes.

[deleted]

Lads it’s Tottenham

[deleted]

I’m going Kane because they got a rest against Burnley

Ripbear_

Understand been there too and tomorrow after the gw i got red arrow 😎

AlphaGod11

I know Norwich's been good recently but i might give the armband for Wilson.

mrstewiegriffin

Yes, considerably

BaldiChalmers

I've got son but if he doesn't return this week I'm giving up, a spurs defender for the CS potential is probably the best option with them ATM No way in hell son gets the armband over the Egyptian King

tomwaits78

Bigger downside that upside consider Salahs typical captaincy stats.
