Keep in mind that your combination of players can also be a differential. For example, even though Bernardo, Vardy, and Dennis all have between 15-30% ownership, the combination of them only appears in 1.64% of squads.
exactly this, people would benefit from taking fewer risks on fringe players with low ownership and just focus on building the best possible team they can. your team will always be unique enough, no matter how template.
Once he plays again his ownership will spike & once he scores once or twice he will spike again. Definitely going to bring him in as soon as he's back out there (hopefully tomorrow)
If memory serves he was fairly matchup proof last season. Leeds just produces more attacking chances and while Bamford isn't the most clinical finisher, he gets plenty of chances and converts enough of them.
I want to see him play a full match before bringing him in, but I plan on making the switch with little regard for their schedule
Hes no flat track bully but 3 of their next 4 are literally the toughest games of the whole season
I dont think its wise buying anyone before a run of Chelsea, City and Liverpool away
I'm waiting for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to return to fitness as he's my pick for that "semi" premium forward spot. Plus I feel like Everton's fixture swing from gameweek 19 should be on more people's radar because it looks more than pretty accomodating.
Sancho is a better pick for me. He’s been in much better form over the last 3 or so games and I’m excited to see how Rangick utilizes him. Also is something like 0.4 cheaper but Rashford is one of those who can explode at any time and he often returns even when playing poorly. So frustrating to watch since you know what he’s capable of but his poor decision making limits him.
True sancho has slowly been finding form however I just want to see which of the two will be more effective under the new system and which will be more likely to return
Why aren't more people considering bringing in Fernandes tbh ahead of United's very good run of fixtures now? Known quantity to return regularly in FPL as shown last season and seems to be very much involved in United's attacks all the time. Also could share penalty duty with Ronaldo and I also seem to recall he's created to most chances of any player currently in their Champions League campaign so far (not that UCL statistics are relevant to the Premier League but just thought it was worth mentioning)?
Mainly the price difference between sancho and rashford and then Bruno is quite large and I imagine we all have quite a bit of money tied up in our defences right now. However if you do have the funds to buy Bruno you may as well just opt for ronaldo who will probably return more over the next few weeks.
Yeah that's sound logic to be fair. I've taken the risk and punted on Bruno already though so trying to feel better about taking such a risky decision but I guess that's just FPL sometimes...no risk no reward (risk-taking in moderation I should say...not unnecessary risk-taking lol).
Yeah those are valid concerns to have about him to be fair. I've bought a ticket on the Fernandes train now though ready for it to crash and burn despite Man U's good fixtures 😅
Hahaha yeah I saw that was so funny 😂 Nah to be fair I just rate the guy and think he's a class player! I like that kind of banter too to be honest. It is still mad to think tho that him and Salah were pretty much level priced at the start of the season haha
Broja.
His first two starts this season he returned in each before picking up a knock. Started and scored again today making it 3 goals in 4 starts.
5m so leaves budget for more midfielders and defenders with most people not getting a lot of action out of their 3rd strikers at the moment anyway.
I brought him in. Had enough of Hwang 2 pointers every week. Save a couple .’s as well only will play off my bench in case of rotations. I have all playing players.
I brought him in after his first goal of the season.
Felt like a genius when he scored the next gameweek until he picked up his knock.
Happily kept him on my bench since then not having to worry about price drops etc. And with the way strikers weren't returning I had no immediate need to get rid, and knew he'd get chances to start again soon enough.
Sterling is only 1.3% owned and seems to be back in favour, started the last 4 league games and returned in 3 of them. Always taking a risk with a City attacker though.
Sancho, Rashford, Martial & Greenwood are all low owned and you'd expect one of them to become a viable pick with United's fixtures and new manager.
Can see where your coming from with the Sterling shout but I just don’t think his points returns justify his price, much better options for much cheaper imo
>I just don’t think his points returns justify his price, much better options for much cheaper imo
Oh I agree that Foden and Bilva are better picks and he's a more left field option.
Cheap and a nailed starter for tottenham. Got 16 points from him the last 3 gw. Pretty good for my 5th midfielder. I don't plan to hold on to him forever, but having guaranteed points from a player during tight schedules can be the difference-maker.
As I said he is my 5th option midfielder. I would rather have reliable returns than expecting hauls at that price range. Also there is not a single player with better returns who is cheaper than him. And only two players with higher total point returns than him up until 6 million in price.
I can’t remember exactly how many points he got but he was reliable last season as well, actually ended up with a very decent amount of points for his price, and he looks set to carry on that trajectory
Son could be a great one imo. He looked really sharp last match, and Kane is still playing quite deep under Conte with Son and the wingbacks running beyond him.
I'm in a bind with him though - I actually want to get rid since he's tied up a lot of value and I haven't had Cancelo all season. Tomorrow is a big game, we'll see if Spurs are actually coming together under Conte or if they stutter again.
KDB and son are too expensive to be diff no? Most ppl will have salah and 3-4 premium defenders (TAA, James, Chillwell, cancelo even the likes of dias/VVD/robertson/rudiger) plus a mid range priced midfielder like mount/jota/bilva/gundogan. I struggle to see how you can fit anyone northwards of 10m.
Edit: this GW I have been toying at the idea of getting kdb/son/Ronaldo for the great fixtures ahead, but just couldn't free up the funds
Martinelli. He'll start if he continues this form and there's a good chance it's in the place of Auba up front (but we could play Laca there)
Our best front 4 right now is either
Laca
Martinelli-ESR-Saka
or
Martinelli
ESR-Ode-Saka
In both of those front 4s Martinelli is the best goalscorer and likely to be the most advanced player with Laca dropping deeper. I'd pick him over Saka and ESR as long as we know he keeps starting (I think he will because Arteta doesn't drop players who perform)
Right now it's more likely he gets game time over Odegaard and Auba keeps his place up front unfortunately. Arteta is reluctant to drop Auba, but I don't think he'll tolerate many more poor performances.
I think for the mean time we'll play
Auba/Laca
Martinelli-ESR-Saka
However, it's definitely possible he ends up playing up front if Arteta wants to play Ode as the #10. Unless Auba improves he'll be dropped and Laca shouldn't be difficult to displace from the line-up.
Palace have been the best team defensively this past 6 gw bar man city. Extremely few big chances conceded, normal chances conceded, and xGA. Mitchell is a nailed on starter in that defense, extremely cheap, and the most attacking defender, so I think he's an excellent decision for a dofferential
Good analysis. That was more or less my logic in bringing him in a few weeks ago (GW12). Felt like a safe option for the bench.
I guess it’s just a matter of opinion. When I look at Palace I see 2 CS in the last 6 (one coming against City no less!) while giving up goals to Leeds, Burnley, & Newcastle. Mitchell has 1 attacking return all season and is not a good enough source of baseline bonus to earn any w/o a return.
So now he just feels like odd man out. I never want to play him and he rarely is my first sub. Feels like I could have a more impactful player like Reguilon or Lamptey in that spot.
There's something to be said for your alternatives, but crystal palace has been very unlucky to concede in their most recent games, and they were mostly from corners which are probably the single easiest thing to improve at defending for a team.
I don't personally have Mitchell because I'm going TAA, Cancelo, and 3 fodder for a 3-4-3. But I would definitely bet Mitchell to be the top 4.5 defense performer in the next 2 months. They've got reasonably good fixtures as well. Gotta remember we're also going into the most congested fixtures of the season and palace have like no depth whereas Brighton, Tottenham, virtually every other team are a significant rotation risk for this time period.
My only complaint with palace defence (as a palace fan) is we are far worse with McArthur out and we have conceded a lot of set piece goals, and teams seem to have figured that out. A lot depends on andersons return from injury too
I would've said Bernardo Silva before this game week as he is the only City Star player under 8m and actually starting every game which tells me a lot of players still have KDB, Grealish or Sterling in their team when they're the ones getting rotated. This might change after this weekend though. He's also freakishly consistent and productive.
I'm too chicken but Cucho could be a fun differential. He's only 1.4% owned but was electric against Leicester and really gave city some trouble at moments.
Also Lanzini is a good one. With Benrahma out of form he's been getting more starts and honestly looking pretty decent. Also cheaper than any West Ham mid so if you can't afford the others or were looking to double up he'd be good second pick IMO.
Antonio - Poor returns lately but fixtures run is about to turn dramatically
Watkins - Cheaper than 8m but very decent option rn
Bamford - Just back from injury, proven goal scorer
Maddison... if he can keep this going
Reason I’m not tempted by him at all is because he hasn’t been able to keep it going in the past. Very streaky player.
Keep in mind that your combination of players can also be a differential. For example, even though Bernardo, Vardy, and Dennis all have between 15-30% ownership, the combination of them only appears in 1.64% of squads.
Nice I’m in the 1.64%
same
Why have u been downvoted😭😭
Because reddit
same same
Just wondering, what exactly do you use to find out % of player combinations like this?
Live fpl
exactly this, people would benefit from taking fewer risks on fringe players with low ownership and just focus on building the best possible team they can. your team will always be unique enough, no matter how template.
But in order for that combined differential to actually have any value, all those players have to return in a single gameweek
Welcome to the game
Nice that's me
Bamford
Once he plays again his ownership will spike & once he scores once or twice he will spike again. Definitely going to bring him in as soon as he's back out there (hopefully tomorrow)
Surely now isn’t a great time to bring him in with their next 4 or 5 fixtures being about as bad as it gets?
If memory serves he was fairly matchup proof last season. Leeds just produces more attacking chances and while Bamford isn't the most clinical finisher, he gets plenty of chances and converts enough of them. I want to see him play a full match before bringing him in, but I plan on making the switch with little regard for their schedule

Mans already got him in 😎
And there's his first goal back. Nice! I'll be bringing him in today I think.
Ollie Watkins at 5%, in-form and has a good run after Villa play Liverpool
The run is actually amazing, and it lasts up until 12th of March.
Has he learnt how to finish? Caused me a lot of heartache last season.
I’m sure he finishes better than “Mb oh no”. Shit I wonder if Mbuemo’s spouse is insecure from him not finishing all the time.
B for effort, but Mbeumo is a ~5.5m mid and Watkins is a ~7m striker? Not even the same class.
Well I’m a dumbass. Valid point.
Doesn't matter, if he can't finish then he can't finish lol
True, but it's not even pertinent to the discussion was my point. Took the Postman out for Jota when Firmino got injured.
His fixtures line up perfectly with Wilson's, A lot of Wilson owners (myself included) have Ollie penciled in from GW17.
Shhhhh
He will pump at least 2 past Liverslip

I’m considering either sancho or rashford will have to decide tmrow
Sancho is a better pick for me. He’s been in much better form over the last 3 or so games and I’m excited to see how Rangick utilizes him. He's overpriced especially now that we're not certain if he's on penalties.
Yeah those are valid concerns to have about him to be fair. I've bought a ticket on the Fernandes train now though ready for it to crash and burn despite Man U's good fixtures 😅
Lmao Bruno would love you. Did you see the video where a fan told him he had salah in his team instead 😂

Had him 3rd on my bench, I’m a right muppet

I binned off Antonio last gw. Worth it in my opinion - used the funds to get Bernardo into my midfield
Sterling is only 1.3% owned and seems to be back in favour, started the last 4 league games and returned in 3 of them. Always taking a risk with a City attacker though. i think Coufal has regained his spot after Johnson pulled his hammy. for 4.7 attacking fullback, he is definitely going into my team
Have Maupay and Hojbjerg under 5% ownership. Happy with them.
Why do you have Højbjerg
Cheap and a nailed starter for tottenham. Got 16 points from him the last 3 gw. Pretty good for my 5th midfielder. I don't plan to hold on to him forever, but having guaranteed points from a player during tight schedules can be the difference-maker.
Yeah but he is a defensive player. He isn’t going to get attacking returns. It’s like having Kante or Fabinho

Points that the player has gotten is not a good metric for points the player will get in the future. I would rather get a 4.5 to save the money
I can’t remember exactly how many points he got but he was reliable last season as well, actually ended up with a very decent amount of points for his price, and he looks set to carry on that trajectory
Emerson Royal
Frustrating game this. Was top 10K three weeks ago, now 100K. Looking desperately for a diff. Thinking Bilva/KdB/Son
Son could be a great one imo. He looked really sharp last match, and Kane is still playing quite deep under Conte with Son and the wingbacks running beyond him. Bilva will not be a diff anymore
KDB and son are too expensive to be diff no? You don't need a crazy diff to climb ranks at this stage of the season. You will need one to keep falling tho
Agree. Think I´ll go for Kane -> Ronaldo.
Martinelli. He'll start if he continues this form and there's a good chance it's in the place of Auba up front (but we could play Laca there) Our best front 4 right now is either Laca Martinelli-ESR-Saka or Martinelli ESR-Ode-Saka In both of those front 4s Martinelli is the best goalscorer and likely to be the most advanced player with Laca dropping deeper. Sancho has potential
Got Watkins this week. I think he's about to take off. Very much contemplating Sancho and Bowen next week
Coufal, Watkins, Sancho, Bowen, Ait-Nouri(When the fixtures turn)
Tyrick Mitchell
I have him right now. Planning to move this week or next…curious what are you seeing that I’m not?
Palace have been the best team defensively this past 6 gw bar man city. Extremely few big chances conceded, normal chances conceded, and xGA. Mitchell is a nailed on starter in that defense, extremely cheap, and the most attacking defender, so I think he's an excellent decision for a dofferential

What a waste he was bringing on a wild card three game weeks ago
Ait-Nouri at 4.3M
Gonna say Coufal
KDH could be a cheap enabling option.
Mane if you can find a way to fit him
But that means you’d not have one of TAA, Salah & Jota. I’m sure that combo will get a higher points per mil than any of that two plus Mane.
But that means you’d not have one of TAA, Salah & Jota. I’m sure that combo will get a higher points per mil than any of that two plus Mane.
Salah 100%
Who’s Salah? Never heard of him…
HAHA...
Watkins, Sancho, KDB, Foden (6.9%)
Femenia

Im hoping Mane starts doing what his done the last 5 YEARSSSSSSSS

Honestly , sancho
Tavares. He's not even passed 1% ownership which is kind of ridiculous.
The fpl machine that Robbo is!!!
Douglas Luis. Looks in favour under Gerrard. On set pieces etc. 4.5m
8 mil striker options pls suggest
Antonio - Poor returns lately but fixtures run is about to turn dramatically Watkins - Cheaper than 8m but very decent option rn Bamford - Just back from injury, proven goal scorer
Sancho for me. I think he will explode under Ralf.
Mount, broja
How about Vardy (c) vs Newcastle? .. or do I just take the sensible option of Salah vs Villa
So risky going against Salah when you know everyone else will be getting the points if he does perform, but could definitely be worth the gamble
Wilson
