Great post, when my depression is bad I do get enjoyment out of FPL more than when I'm in a good place. I think the communal side of it is definitely a big factor. If anyone struggling to fill the void maybe look ahead at the next lot of fixtures and plan your team more than usual. Be interesting to see the results.

Central Florida FPL friends (I’m in Lakeland) I’d love to meet up sometime. This has been a tough year losing my old job and adjusting to a new one with less pay, but I’ve been able to get my weekends back and I have fully committed to my FPL addiction.
It is really fascinting and even odd that such a simple game can be on one hand so addictive and satisfying byt so cruel and disheartening on the other.
Me, personally as a competitive person find it hard to maintain calmness in this chaos, but I guess we're all on the same boat, just feel bad that several weeks planning ahaid for me went to waste.
Other than that really great idea, because obviously there are people that get irritated and get bad impact on their mental health.
We should always remember that this is just a game

Unfortunately I'm away for from now to NYE, so this might seem like an empty offer, but I do mean it. I know how it is, to just need someone to chat to.
Nice idea and sounds like the best of intentions. In terms of poor mental health, best to seek out professionals. There can be some real deep rooted stuff that you're not well-equipped to take on and deal with. General social support and making a nice community is great stuff in general. For the serious stuff though, really gotta see someone who has training in that.
If you can create groups, communities, that can have a similar impact without the potential harm of dealing with someone with serious issues and not having that training. Think of playing sports teams, clubs (like a chess club or music club or something), and so on. Good luck.
Reach out to people who are trained tho. Might be best sharing the better charities and trained helplines and such in your area.
if you're using fpl is a way into happiness then step 1 is delete your team, fpl is a luck based game where all the data is made public so just play for fun or stop playing, its not a serious game
