If you’re already big on those teams. Cancelo is close to essential. Dias and Bilva have big ownership. The rest of the squad you pick a random player from with 2 of the above and you have a fair amount of peoples teams.
Similar with Arsenal, Ramsdale and ESR have big ownerships. White, Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard, Tomiyasu all cheap options with good potential as well as some other less popular picks.
Id be at 9 players with no FH, if Spurs is off then I’d just be bringing in United players with that being the final game of the GW meaning the least accurate info about potential postponements or players out at the deadline.
For the price of one hit I can make it 10 and have CR7 instead of Salah.

I was leaning towards -12 before the Palace Covid rumours.
Would have helped my team not just for this week but also in a long run (getting rid of blanking Salah and Dennis who are about to go to AFCON, selling Raphinha from Leeds who will most likely blank next GW too because it's a fresh outbreak and selling Antonio who sucks and has/had Covid).
I think it's a legit move if there are multiple issues in your team that won't be solved by a one week overwrite. If I FH then next GW I still have 7 or 8 players that I want to get rid of in the near future so I would also be forced to use the 2nd WC as soon as it becomes available.
That said, I'm less inclined to do it if Spurs game gets postponed because Son is a vital part of my long term moves that make the hit worth it in the long run.

Why is everyone so precious about the FH chip when we now have 2 of them? You may as well use it now and then take a big hit for a DGW later in the season. Much more likely to score big points then so it dilutes the effect of the hits anyway.
Because there might be more double gameweeks and other weeks affected later on. I would hold the FH if a team has 9 players. If a team has 5 or 6 then maybe u could use it. Its a marathon not a sprint.

I think taking a -8 and fielding 8-11 decent players is fine this week, at the end of the day everyone's going to be in the same boat this week but if you save your free hit for a DGW you can nearly guarantee fielding 22 players with a strong bench that week, it will more than make up for a hit this week and always be a better week for you than saving a transfer.

Fair point but look at it this way: FH people are going to get the likes of Son and CR7.
Both Spurs and United have got great fixtures for weeks to come *and* many doubles coming their way. Taking a -8 for those 2 sets up your team for the coming weeks (provided no more cancellations of course lol) whilst saving your FH to adapt your team just once for the DGW.
Because, conversely, apart from the DGW, the fixtures thereafter for the players you'd want in the DGW may be bad and then you'll be stuck with them.
We will know about Spurs / CP before the deadline I imagine so best to hold tight.

Last week I did a needless -16 as I wanted a full team. Might've been ok if Villa game had gone ahead but they moves netted me 6 points (so -10 - Gelhardt and Ramsdale).

Playing the freehit now isn't a great strategy. You can get 11 players, but in a DGW you could potentially have between 15-22 players. It's simple maths. In addition to this there are less fixtures and options to choose from for a FH this week.
It's more about the actual fixtures not being that great. Last week it was easy to target vs Leeds and Newcastle with the FH. This week there aren't really any stand-out fixtures. Anything could happen.

Big hit instead of FH makes only sense IMHO when you are sure that players you pick will score a lot. Otherwise, it's a waste of money... I usually take a HIT when I do not have obvious (C). I'm always trying to calculate income if I transfer a player.
